Ciara is a singer and songwriter hailing from Austin, Texas, United States who was born on the 25th of October 1985. She has released five albums since her debut in 2004 at the age of 19, and has had five top ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100.

Ciara Princess Harris was born to Jackie and Carlton Harris, and grew up all over the United States of America as the daughter of an officer in the U.S Army. If anything’s going to prepare you for a life spent on the road, it’s that, so it makes sense that the young Ciara soon became obsessed with music, and wanted to do nothing else with her life but sing for a living. Her family settled down in Atlanta in her mid-teens and while she was there, she formed a group called Hearsay with two of her friends from school. The band wasn’t to last but it got the young singer started writing her own songs, which was invaluable for her future in the music industry.

It got to the point where before she had even graduated High School she’d signed a publishing deal as a songwriter, and through her work she met the producer Jazze Pha, a man she would later call her “musical soulmate”. The two of them made a demo together of her songs “1, 2 Step”, “Thug Style”, “Pick Up The Phone” and “Lookin’ At You” and just after Ciara had graduated from high school in 2003, she was signed to LaFace Records. She got to work on her debut album immediately and in January 2004, wrote the demo of a song called “Goodies” with her producer Sean Garret. Rapper Lil Jon stumbled across the song and knew right then and there that it would be a huge hit.

He guest produced the single version, and lo and behold, he was absolutely right. “Goodies” was an absolutely enormous hit, staying at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks straight. The accompanying album, also called “Goodies”, went straight to number one on the Billboard 200 and would eventually be certified three times platinum in America. Ciara was never going to be a one hit wonder, however, and both the follow up singles “1, 2 Step” which featured the one and only Missy Elliot, and “Oh” featuring Ludacris peaked at number two on the Hot 100. “1, 2 Step” stayed there for seven weeks as well, and Ciara saw out the year with a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.

Since then, Ciara has well and truly earned the title “Princess of Crunk&B”, with consistently huge selling albums, a stunning live show and some of the most deathlessly brilliant pop songs of the 21st century. She might not have sustained the kind of commercial success that her first album brought her, but who on earth could? Her albums continue to be critically acclaimed and let’s be honest here, it takes someone very special indeed to collaborate with everyone from Nicki Minaj to 50 Cent, to Justin Timberlake on their singles. She’s a truly vital pop singer and songwriter, and for that reason, Ciara comes highly recommended.

Before twerking was the trendy thing to do, Ciara was getting down like that since the release of her single, ‘Goodies,’ in 2004.

As she started releasing more club worthy hits including ‘1, 2, Step’ and ‘Oh,’ Ciara was becoming the queen of R&B that you can shake to. By the time she released two albums, Ciara was named Billboard’s ‘Woman of the Year’ in 2008. She went on to tour with Jay Z and Britney Spears and worked on tracks with Usher, Nelly and Justin Timberlake. And now, months before her 29th birthday, Ciara has made the most of her year so far by getting engaged to rapper Future, becoming a mom and relishing the success of her self-titled fifth album, which dropped last year.

And while she’s been known to dance quite sexy on stage, growing up has made this artist a bit more sensual. Not only in her moves but also in her music. So when she comes onstage for ‘Body Party,’ it definitely feels like you’re walking in on a private dance. Between the falsettos she hits at the end of each lyrical line to the hip rolls that accompany them, Ciara steams up the venue she’s playing but not too much to call it raunchy. Unlike other artists who are expected to sing and dance during their shows, Ciara’s constant body conditioning and staying healthy keep her up to par for such vocal and physical performances. And she manages to get each song done with ease when many of us would admit to losing our breath within the first few bars of a track.

While she’s been out of the spotlight for the last couple of months due to the pregnancy, the new mom is ready to get back to work. So I’m sure she’ll be hitting the stage to teach us a few moves soon.

Ciara Princess Harris, Texan singer better known as Ciara has been active on the circuit since 2002 and after scoring commercial success with her albums and singles, her reputation has grown substantially. Her first single 'Goodies' went straight to the top of the chart in both the US and the UK and since then her fan base has grown dramatically.

An elusive performer, when she does take to the stage she proves she is a force in pop as it is an all cannons blazing live show. The huge amount of speakers deliver a bass heavy introduction of 'Lose Control' by Missy Elliot before Ciara and an army of dancers appear for 'Oh'. Armed with a headset so she is able to both sing and dance, she wows fans with complex routines and great R & B vocals.

She swiftly moves through the hits, including 'Love, Sex & Magic' her collaboration with Justin Timerblake which receives the largest cheer so far. It is great to hear 'Goodies' live and the audience dance along, not to the same level of expertise as the professionals onstage. A really fun live performance and Ciara is a great performer as opposed to a singer.

WOW!!! Let me start by saying holy the Jackie tour was unbelievably awesome. Ciara really knows how to put on a show and keep everyone entertained. She sang so many old songs and kept the show popping. There was never a dal moment in the show. She looks like she was having a great time up there on that stage which put a great smile on everyone's face. She rocked that show with her great and sexual dance moves. I highly recommend you see Ciara when she goes back on tour!

I think she knows that her fans were disappointed for starting the show almost 2 hrs after her scheduled time. I saw some people leave which was great because it was too crowded. I had people all over me. HOWEVER, the show was really nice. I’d see her again but not at Sony Hall. She needs a bigger venue.

Great preformer!!! She dances and sings for almost two hours. Ciara really has a great talent. Really appreciative of her fans and her craft. Although I was shocked to see a live band; but it worked out extremely well. Over all it was a great show

R&B songstress Ciara will be hitting the road later in 2019 to promote her brand new album 'Beauty Marks' . The brief 6-city tour takes place in September making stops in Puyallup, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, New York and Chicago. Prior to the tour, the Grammy-winning singer will be making festival appearances at KFEST and NYC Pride. Last year, she joined Bruno Mars during a small portion of his 24K Magic World Tour .

Ciara released her seventh studio album 'Beauty Marks' on May 17th, 2019 via Warner Bros. Records. Her previous 2015 album 'Jackie' peaked at #17 on the Billboard 200 and includes the single 'I Bet' which was certified Platinum by the RIAA. The same year, she launched her Jackie Tour which visited 34 cities across America. Back in 2009, the singer-songwriter spent time touring with Jay-Z for a short summer trek with special guest Fabolous which visited Phoenix, Las Vegas, Chicago and Uncasville.

Missy Elliott Announces First-Ever Headlining Tour with Ciara, Timbaland and Busta Rhymes — See the Dates!

On April 8, the Grammy-winning rapper announced her first-ever headlining tour, billed as Out of This World — The Missy Elliott Experience, set to hit 24 cities throughout North America this summer with Ciara , Busta Rhymes and Timbaland joining for the ride.

"This is an incredible time in my life as I am experiencing so many milestone ‘firsts.’ Being the FIRST female Hip Hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and now going out on my FIRST headline tour," said Elliott, 52, in a statement.

"Fans have been asking me to tour forever," continued the "Get Ur Freak On" performer," but I wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it big, and I had to do it with family!"

Elliott's statement concluded, "So get ready to be taken OUT OF THIS WORLD with me, Busta Rhymes, Ciara, and Timbaland! We can’t wait to share this experience with the fans!"

Most of the artists on the tour bill have worked together throughout their careers. Elliott and Timbaland are longtime tight-knit collaborators, having written and produced for each other as well as artists including 702,  Aaliyah , SWV and Total.

Ciara featured Elliott on her 2004 hit "1, 2 Step," and they reunited the following year for the rapper's 2005 hit "Lose Control" with Fatman Scoop. More recently, all three artists got back together for a remix of Ciara's 2018 single "Level Up."

Busta Rhymes has collaborated with all three tourmates, having notably provided several Timbaland-produced interludes on Elliott's albums in the past. Timbaland, however, hasn't yet released an official collaboration with Ciara — but maybe the tour will spark one.

Kicking off July 4 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the tour will make stops in cities including Seattle, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, Detroit, Toronto and more before wrapping August 22 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

Tickets will first become available through a Verizon presale running from April 9 at 10 a.m. local time through April 11 at 10 p.m. local time, followed by additional presales before the general on-sale launches April 12 at 10 a.m. local time. VIP packages are also available via VIPNation .

Missy Elliott is ditching sweets to prepare to tour, says her dog is 'like my best friend'

First it was induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as the inaugural female hip-hop artist.

Then, the announcement that after a 25-plus year career, a first-ever headlining tour would be unveiled this summer.

Add to that a prominent role in Pharrell Williams’ currently untitled movie project about his life and clearly, it’s a Missy Elliott-palooza.

On July 4, a few days after she turns 53, Elliott will embark on the Out of This World tour with co-stars Busta Rhymes and Ciara , as well as Timbaland, who has known Elliott since high school and helped innovate smashes including “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly),” “Hit Em Wit Da Hee,” “Get Ur Freak On” and “Work It.”

The 30-date run, which kicks off in Vancouver, will wind through Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Tampa, Atlanta, Baltimore, Brooklyn and Philadelphia among its stops.

Elliott, who lives in Atlanta, is also filming the Williams movie in Richmond, Virginia – both hail from the Virginia Beach area – while prepping for her tour. She'll star alongside Oscar winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph , Oscar nominee Brian Tyree Henry and fellow music luminary Janelle Monáe.

Here is what Elliott had to say about this fulfilling period in her life.

Question: Your performance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in November was electrifying. What was going through your mind that night after being inducted as the first female rapper?

Answer: Whenever I go into any performance it’s a lot of thought process, from the clothes to what songs you’re gonna perform to the dances. I think most of the time I’m engulfed in everything. But this time I felt like I was floating because I was in the room and watching many artists that had been around for way longer than I have just getting into the Rock Hall. It’s still a pinch me moment, like wow, I’m here … Until stuff like that happens, like (being inducted into) the Songwriters Hall of Fame , those things felt like they were so out of reach until I was on that stage.

With you, Eminem, LL Cool J and several other hip-hop artists getting into the Rock Hall, do you think they’ve improved their acknowledgement of the genre?

It’s a good thing, an amazing thing, and hopefully me being the first female, it opens the door for other females and hip-hop artists in general because it has had such an impact on so many genres of music. I go to Japan and all of the stores are playing nothing but hip-hop.

It’s hard to believe this is your first headlining tour, so why now?

My first tour was Lilith Fair (in 1998). Then I did Rock the Mic with Jay-Z and 50 Cent (in 2003) and my last tour (in 2004) was me, Beyoncé , Alicia (Keys) and Tamia. I had the opportunities to tour alone, but because I was so engulfed in writing and producing for myself and other artists, I never felt like I wanted to be out that long without being able to continue doing that. But then one day I was like, I want to go out. My management, they didn’t believe me. But my manager called me the next day and said, “Are you serious?” and I said, yeah, I want to go out. I believe God aligned it. Mentally, I was ready. Physically, I was ready.

Why is it called the Out of This World tour?

The first thing I thought of is anything that I have done sonically, musically, visually has been kind of out of this world. I felt even Busta , who I’ve watched before I even came along, has been that way, too. And Ciara and Tim(baland), his music has been futuristic . So that title was fitting for all of us. I believe we all embody being out of this world.

What can you share about the show or production?

It’s gonna be a little bit of everything . I’m biting my nails wanting to tell what will happen, but I want everybody to come and see it. I can tell you the energy is going to be through the roof. I tell people bring your slides, no heels, no shoes, because you’re gonna dance the whole night.

Since touring isn’t typical, how are you preparing?

It’s most definitely a grind. You have to be in a good mental space. I have Busta and Ciara and Timba out there so it’s going to feel like family and not, I’m going to work. On top of that, I have a physical therapist I’m starting with and they put these big things on my legs to loosen everything up. And I have to start eating right. I am most definitely putting down any sweets and that is hardest thing for me. I’m gonna eat my last cupcake in a week. But I hike the mountains every day.

Is there anything you have to bring with you on the road?

My (Yorkie) dog Fendi. I lost one of my dogs in November and that crushed me so she’s like my best friend. She calms my anxiety. She’s living her best life. She’s in a couple of Instagram photos (on my page) and she has her own page and her own fans.

As you get ready for a headlining tour and look back at what you’ve accomplished, do you feel you’ve become a pioneer for women in hip-hop?

I guess now I can say that yeah, I get a chance to sit back and look back at all the new females coming. People don’t know how hard it is when you’re a female coming up. My hat goes off to them for doing it for real. You have to be tough and strong and consistent and I’m on the sideline cheering them on.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

The schedule for Shakira's 2024 tour begins on November 2 with back-to-back shows in Palm Desert, California. The "Hips Don't Lie Singer" is then set to embark on 15 more concert dates across 13 additional cities in the United States and Canada. Currently, Shakira is set to take her final bow of the North American leg of the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour in Detroit, Michigan on December 15, 2024.

Much like the Elitserien Finals, we have a bit of an offense vs. defense match-up in this league Final.  While Ufa let their star top line of Alexander Radulov, Patrick Thoresen and Igor Grigorenko loose on the KHL's Western Conference, Mytischi played a more conservative style, relying on veterans such as former NHLers Jan Bulis, Oleg Petrov, and Jaroslav Obsut.  Just reaching the Finals is a testament to Atlant's disciplined style of play, as they had to knock off much more high profile teams from Yaroslavl and St. Petersburg to do so.  But while they did finish 8th in the league in points, they haven't seen the likes of Ufa, who finished 2nd. 

This series will be a challenge for the underdog, because unlike some of the other KHL teams, Ufa's top players are generally younger and in their prime.  Only Proshkin amongst regular blueliners is over 30, with the work being shared by Kirill Koltsov (28), Andrei Kuteikin (26), Miroslav Blatak (28), Maxim Kondratiev (28) and Dmitri Kalinin (30).  Oleg Tverdovsky hasn't played a lot in the playoffs to date.  Up front, while led by a fairly young top line (24-27), Ufa does have a lot of veterans in support roles:  Vyacheslav Kozlov , Viktor Kozlov , Vladimir Antipov, Sergei Zinovyev and Petr Schastlivy are all over 30.  In fact, the names of all their forwards are familiar to international and NHL fans:  Robert Nilsson , Alexander Svitov, Oleg Saprykin and Jakub Klepis round out the group, all former NHL players.

For Atlant, their veteran roster, with only one of their top six D under the age of 30 (and no top forwards under 30, either), this might be their one shot at a championship.  The team has never won either a Russian Superleague title or the Gagarin Cup, and for players like former NHLer Oleg Petrov, this is probably the last shot at the KHL's top prize.  The team got three extra days rest by winning their Conference Final in six games, and they probably needed to use it.  Atlant does have younger regulars on their roster, but they generally only play a few shifts per game, if that. 

The low event style of game for Atlant probably suits them well, but I don't know how they can manage to keep up against Ufa's speed, skill, and depth.  There is no advantage to be seen in goal, with Erik Ersberg and Konstantin Barulin posting almost identical numbers, and even in terms of recent playoff experience Ufa has them beat.  Luckily for Atlant, Ufa isn't that far away from the Moscow region, so travel shouldn't play a major role. 

I'm predicting that Ufa, winners of the last Superleague title back in 2008, will become the second team to win the Gagarin Cup, and will prevail in five games.  They have a seriously well built team that would honestly compete in the NHL.  They represent the potential of the league, while Atlant represents closer to the reality, as a team full of players who played themselves out of the NHL.
