Chris Stapleton will buttress his upcoming stadium tour with George Strait with his own All American Road Show , a series of guest-filled headlining gigs that began in April and will now run through August 2024 with the addition of dozens of additional dates.

Sheryl Crow, Elle King, Marcus King, Nikki Lane, Willie Nelson and Family, Grace Potter, Allen Stone, Marty Stuart, Turnpike Troubadours, The War and Treaty and Lainey Wilson are among the acts that will join Stapleton at certain stops along the All-American Road Show.

The Road Show itself kicked off April 26 in El Paso, Texas, with Stapleton sandwiching in gigs between Strait shows and music festival appearances like Stagecoach and Rock the South. The trek kept Stapleton on the road all summer, with the All American Road Show initially scheduled to conclude on Aug. 25 in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Check out Stapleton’s site for ticket information .

Stapleton, who performed the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVII earlier this year, has also booked a spot at Willie Nelson’s upcoming 90th birthday bash .

American songwriter, singer, producer, and guitarist Chris Stapleton has had a long journey in the music industry. His work is considered a return to the pure art that country music once was: gritty, soulful, and blues-tinged storytelling in musical form...

...with as many foot-stomping songs as mournful tales of sorrow.

Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Stapleton would later move to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a degree in engineering. Instead of finishing his degree, he decided to drop out and focus on his true love — music. While Stapleton is known today for his own hit albums, he began as a contracted songwriter. Even after achieving fame as a musician in his own right, his way with words keeps top talent asking for him by name By 2018, Stapleton had written and co-written over 170 songs, including numerous number-one country hits.

Songs attributed to Stapleton’s genius writing skills include Kenny Chesney’s number-one “Never Wanted Nothing More,” Luke Bryan’s “Drink a Beer,” and Josh Turner’s “Your Man.” In addition to working with many of the top names in the country music industry, Stapleton has also written songs for Adele, Taylor Swift, and Kelly Clarkson.

Before taking center stage as a solo artist, Chris Stapleton was the frontman for two different bands. His first band was a bluegrass ensemble called The SteelDrivers, which he performed with from 2008 to 2010. The band won numerous accolades, including Emerging Artist of the Year from the International Bluegrass Music Association and Best Bluegrass Album. Stapleton went on to lead a second band, The Jompson Brothers, before recording his own solo record.

In 2015, Chris Stapleton broke onto the scene with his debut solo studio album Traveller. This album topped the US Billboard 200 charts and earned a number of CMA nominations. With the release of this album, Chris also earned Best Male Vocalist, New Artist of the Year, and Album of the Year.

Next, Chris would go on to release two more studio albums in 2017: From a Room: Volume 1 and Volume 2. These albums would earn him a slew of additional awards, including his second CMA Award for Album of the Year.

Immediately after this dual release, Stapleton began his All-American Road Show tour. Then, in August 2020, he released his most recent award-winning album Starting Over. This album features the soulful and haunting country-meets-folk music for which the artist is known.

In 2021, Stapleton won Song of the Year and Single of the Year for “Starting Over” at the Country Music Awards. He also won album of the year for Starting Over, as well as additional awards for his work as a producer on the album. In 2022, he took home three awards at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, earning an award for every category in which he was nominated. He also performed at the event, showcasing his incredible on-stage presence.

For those lucky enough to catch one of Stapleton’s tour dates, the artist delivers a memorable experience. Stapleton’s wife Morgane often accompanies him onstage, adding beautiful, harmonious vocals to his soulful sets. It’s not just Stapleton’s musical talent that draws fans to his shows; it’s the sense of community he creates. The southern-born and raised artist is known for personally checking in on his fans, even going as far as offering water to those dancing along to his tunes.

Stapleton continues to tour in 2023, with shows spanning the US, including tour dates in Colorado, Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Arizona.

Live reviews

“It looks like we’re going to have some fun tonight.” Those words were obviously meant for the packed house at the El Rey Theatre in Chico, California, but Chris Stapleton couldn’t take his eyes off his wife when he spoke them. Concealing his true identity behind a grizzly mane and a weathered cowboy hat, the newly-crowned savior of country music seemed just a little uncomfortable in his own skin. It was almost as if he were convincing himself that it was going to be an enjoyable set. When he did expose his wide eyes to the crowd, apprehension could be read loud and clear, but then he’d turn them back to Morgane and let her reflection ease his nerves. She provided backup vocals and made her tambourine sing, but just like Amanda Shires at those Jason Isbell shows in Nashville, Morgane Stapleton’s primary role was that of a muse. Performing in front of an old movie screen, while a sold-out crowd sang every word back at them, the Stapletons must have felt like they were characters in some film themselves. - See more at: http://ilistensoyoudonthaveto.com/2015/11/16/chris-stapleton-el-rey-theatre-11-13-15/#sthash.1GXWlcBl.dpuf

Best night ever! Brett Cobb, Marty Stewart and the Superlatives, then Chris Stapleton!!! The roof was raised by their awesome sound and the crowd singing along to almost every tune. Chris seemed genuinely appreciative of his warm welcome! Seems like such a humble gentleman who stands and delivers with his whole heart. And, what a musician!!! His soulful voice and wailing guitar is mesmerizing! The band is super tight! He calls them his favorite musicians in the world, and they deserve this honor in the highest degree. I am so happy my husband and I will be going to the show in NH on 8/25! And thanks to the nice guy who convinced the tall seat jumpers to move so we could see the show!

Chris is a fine songwriter and even better performer. Great show. And I can’t be the only one to be somewhat disappointed that the opening couple of minutes of Freebird didn’t progress into a full blown cover. Marty Stuart was good too. But the venue needs some logistic reorganization big time. Well over an hour and a half to get from the turn off from highway to our seats. A distance of half a mile if that. Over 30 minutes to get through security. And going home was just as bad. Lots of staff but no plan for them to follow whatsoever. Won’t be going back. If Chris is playing I may make an exception, but not for anyone else.

Fantastic show with Joe Walsh, Don Henley, James Taylor, & Chris Stapleton at the Tacoma Dome on Veterans' Day. I didn't realize when I bought my tickets that it was a benefit show; it was really fun.

Chris (and all the performers) played mostly crowd pleasers. Chris sounded just like he does recorded - no better or worse (not complaining). I thought he'd be performing with his wife as back-up, but he had a full band. It would have been fun to hear one or two songs with just him and a backup singer, but maybe it wouldn't have worked well in a big arena show.

Moments before he was to perform the rain came and soaked most. That did not dampen the spirit of the fans. He sang some new songs from new album with Chris style and also included all our favourites. Ended with Tenessee Whiskey. He is an awesome talent guitar playing srcond to none. His live performance did not disappoint he and what we found out, his wife and two brithers were the other band members. Do not change a thing it was an excellent performance even with the rain.

Chris is an immensely talented singer, writer and musician. What he is not: is a performer.

He probably didn't move more that 24" all night. If he was wearing a Fitbit, he probably only had 12 steps and those were accumulated going on and coming off stage.

Red Rocks is a near-perfect setting for a show and the weather was amazing, but for $90/ ticket I'd like something more than I could experience just listening to his music in my car.

It was a fantastic show! Chris was on fire! The opening act was Kendall Marvel and then Brothers Osborne! Everyone was great! Brothers Osborne are truly bad to the bone! Then Mickey Raphael shows up with Chris! Mickey is a living legend! Best concert I’ve seen! So glad that I was able to attend! Chris is probably one of the most talented guys I have ever had the privilege of hearing! It was worth every penny!

tony-38’s profile image

That was 1 of the best "mellow" concerts I've ever seen. His voice is enough to send chills - truly amazing! From his shock at the crowds excitement to his humble gratitude I can truly say that I will definitely be going to another Chris Stapleton show. The best was his introduction of his band- the words/lyrics were so personal and funny and actually had us all wanting more!

Loved the show. I knew appreciated your voice and songwriting, but I was also wowed by your ability to play the guitar. My only disappintment was my favorite tune, What are You Listening To, did not make the show. I know it is impossible to cover everything, but I wanted you to know, women love that song. Thank you for a wonderful show. Hope to see you again soon!

ccarter7’s profile image

It was amazing. His voice is soothing to my soul and such a treat for your ears. His prebands, Brothers Osborne and Kendell Marvel were so good, too. They had great voices and all 3 were so amazing on their instruments. I love when bands kill it on their guitars, drums, and pianos and you can not get much better than what we saw. Loved every bit of the bands.

GEORGE STRAIT AND CHRIS STAPLETON EXTEND RUN OF STADIUM SHOWS, NEW DATES ADDED FOR 2024

chris stapleton tour name

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Setting venue attendance records across seven stadium shows this summer, country music icon George Strait and eight-time GRAMMY winner Chris Stapleton continue the excitement into 2024 with nine new dates. Also returning alongside the King of Country and Stapleton for the extended run of one-off stadium dates are special guests and GRAMMY Award-winning band Little Big Town . In addition to summer shows in Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Ames, Charlotte, East Rutherford, Salt Lake City, Detroit and Chicago, Strait will also supersize his longstanding Strait to Vegas show with a December date at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium to mark the 37th installment of the engagement. Tickets to most shows go on sale next Friday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. local time via GeorgeStrait.com , with tickets to the Jacksonville show on sale Friday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. local time. American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Friday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. local time through Thursday, Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. local time. Of the few opportunities to see Strait perform live, Pollstar opines, “Strait remains the most worthy inheritor of Merle Haggard or Willie Nelson’s mantle of country icon through the meaningful fluidity with which he moves through country’s various sub-strains with the same ease and enjoyment that marked both men’s Country Music Hall of Fame careers.” “I’ve always said we have the best fans in the world, and to see so many of them show up for these shows just makes us want to keep bringing them more,” shares Strait. “I’ve also missed performing in Las Vegas during NFR, so I’m happy to see that show come together in 2024. See you soon!” George Strait w/ Chris Stapleton & special guests Little Big Town 2024 Stadium Shows:

About George Strait George Strait is the unambiguous King of Country Music, having sold more than 105 million albums and counting while earning more than 60 major entertainment industry awards as well as countless nominations and becoming the only act in history to have a Top 10 hit every year for over three decades. With 33 different Platinum or multi-Platinum albums, he’s earned the third-most certifications of any artist in any genre, following only The Beatles and Elvis Presley, and with a total of 60, Strait has more No. 1 songs than any other artist in history (including Elvis). The Texas troubadour released 2019’s best-selling Country album, Honky Tonk Time Machine , on MCA Nashville, produced by Strait and Chuck Ainlay, the album quickly became Strait’s record-extending 27th No. 1 Billboard Country album. Comprised of 12 original titles plus Strait’s version of the Johnny Paycheck classic “Old Violin,” Honky Tonk Time Machine marks an incredible 30th career studio album from the Country Music Hall of Fame member, who earned his 100th entry on the Billboard Country Airplay chart with his single “The Weight of the Badge” from the project. Since his record-breaking Cowboy Rides Away Tour in 2014, Strait has performed for limited engagements, most notably at Las Vegas’s T-Mobile Arena for his long running “Strait to Vegas” series. In 2022, he also made his 31st appearance at the iconic Houston Rodeo on the event’s final night and headlined two nights at Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena. 2023 has seen Strait set concert attendance records at multiple venues as he has teamed up with Chris Stapleton for a series of one-off stadium shows in just six markets, with Little Big Town also appearing on each date. About Chris Stapleton Kentucky-born Chris Stapleton is an eight-time GRAMMY, 14-time CMA and 10-time ACM Award winner and one of the country’s most respected and beloved musicians who will release his highly anticipated new album, Higher , on November 10 (Mercury Nashville). Produced by Dave Cobb, Morgane Stapleton and Chris Stapleton and recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A, the record consists of 14 tracks that showcase Stapleton’s supernatural voice and musical versatility with songs that defy easy categorization. Already receiving overwhelming notice, the album's lead single, “White Horse,” recently achieved the biggest add day of the last 12 months at country radio and marks the highest chart debut of Stapleton's career. Released to critical acclaim, Billboard praises, “‘White Horse’ finds Stapleton pairing an outlaw swagger with some heaven-scraping vocals, going for the gusto throughout the chorus to try and match the guitar snarl.”

The new music adds to another landmark year for Stapleton, who is nominated for three awards at this year’s 57th Annual CMA Awards: Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the Year. He was also named Entertainer of the Year at the 58th ACM Awards—resulting in a prestigious ACM Triple Crown Award—and Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2022 CMA Awards, his sixth time earning the award, setting the record for most wins ever in the category. Additionally, in February, he performed the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVII and has collaborated in recent years with Adele, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, P!nk, Sheryl Crow, Santana and many more. About Little Big Town GRAMMY, ACM, CMA, AMA and Emmy Award-winning group, Little Big Town – consisting of members Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman, and Jimi Westbrook – first entered the music scene over 20 years ago with hit songs “Boondocks,” “Bring It On Home,” “Good As Gone” and the GRAMMY-nominated “Little White Church.” The band’s breakthrough albums Tornado and Pain Killer produced multiple No. 1 singles, including “Pontoon,” “Tornado,” and “Day Drinking,” as well as the history-making, best-selling country single of the year (2015) “Girl Crush.” 2017’s The Breaker debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Charts to critical acclaim. The album features their GRAMMY-winning, multi-week No. 1 single, “Better Man,” as well as the 2019 GRAMMY-nominated, “When Someone Stops Loving You.” The band’s self-produced ninth studio album, Nightfall , was released January 2020 and hit the top of the Billboard Country Charts. The record included critically acclaimed and GRAMMY-nominated “The Daughters,” “Over Drinking” and “Wine, Beer, Whiskey” – the latter of which has reached almost 400 million global streams. In September 2022 they released their tenth studio album, Mr. Sun, which debuted as the Top Country Album released by a Group in 2022. Little Big Town has earned more than 45 award show nominations and has taken home nearly 20 awards, including multiple GRAMMY, AMA, People’s Choice, CMA and ACM Awards, in addition to an Emmy award.

Chris Stapleton signs high school graduate’s diploma during music festival

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. ( WYMT /Gray News) – When high school graduate Joel May packed his bags for a weekend music festival, he didn’t realize his backpack was still carrying his new diploma.

May, who just graduated from Johnson Central High School in Paintsville, Kentucky, noticed the diploma in his backpack while on the two-hour drive to the Railbird Festival in Lexington.

When he saw it, he had an idea.

“It was with me and I just jokingly said, ‘Hey, what if I get my diploma signed by Chris Stapleton?’” laughed May. “He went to the same high school; might as well, right?”

So, he did just that. May, along with his family and friends, stopped for lunch and purchased a poster board and markers to make a sign that read, “SIGN MY JCHS DIPLOMA!”

He covered the sign with a waterproof sheet and tucked the diploma away as the rain poured down for hours during the second day of the festival. Then, when Stapleton took the stage Sunday, May tried to decide the best time to make his move.

“I tried to hold it up during the second song and almost immediately somebody threw a beer at it and it hit me in the head,” he said. “So, I decided to put it right back down.”

His efforts were quickly rewarded during a break in the music when he held the sign again and Stapleton read it from the stage.

“Did you bring your diploma to a festival?” Stapleton can be heard saying in videos from the event. “Hell yeah, I’ll sign it. Pass it up here, man.”

Some videos being shared online show Stapleton saying this was a first for him and calling it “too weird” as the diploma crowd surfed to the singer and made its way back to the graduate.

Stapleton is an alumnus of Johnson Central High School, where May graduated from, and he still gives back to the community.

“I appreciate him. Especially in all that stuff, just because he’s been an active part of this community and this school specifically,” May said.

May said his musical admiration for Stapleton is only one part of the puzzle. He said Stapleton’s generosity to his community is what makes May a true fan.

“Sophomore year [the school chorus] got picked to perform at Disney World. And we got to sing at Disney World. We got to do a bunch of Disney songs. It was really cool,” May said. “[Stapleton] actually paid for everyone in that trip that year.”

Though it received some water damage and tears on its way to the stage, May’s diploma – signed by Stapleton – is now secured in a frame as a reminder of the special moment.

Sturgill Simpson Is Back With New Tour, New Album…and a New Name

Back in 2021, Sturgill Simpson promised Rolling Stone that he was done making albums under his own name after the release of The Ballad of Dood and Juanita . "I always said there would be five, and I wondered if I'd go back on that. But it really has cemented every step of the way how much I don't want to carry all that weight," he told RS' s Marissa R. Moss. "Not having to stand up there behind my name would allow me to be even more vulnerable, in a way."

On Wednesday, Simpson made good on that vow with the announcement of Johnny Blue Skies, his new moniker, and a band full of members from his original group: guitarist Laur Joamets, drummer Miles Miller, and bassist Kevin Black, plus the addition of Robbie Crowell, formerly of Midland, on keys. Simpson will introduce Johny Blue Skies to fans on a fall tour - the Why Not? Tour - beginning with a festival show at Outside Lands in San Francisco in August.

There's also a new album: Passage Du Desir , named after a storefront on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis in Paris. Due July 12, the record was produced by Johnny Blue Skies and David Ferguson at Clement House Recording Studio in Nashville and at Abbey Road Studios in London. According to a release, it will comprise eight songs with titles like "Swamp of Sadness," "Jupiter's Faerie," and "Mint Tea."

Tickets to Simpson's tour will go on sale via a pre-sale on June 12; fans must first register at Simpson's website . A general on-sale for a limited number of tickets begins June 14.

Tyler Childers

Tyler Childers is a Grammy-nominated country and folk musician known for the songs “In Your Love” and “All Your’n.”

Latest News: Tyler Childers Gears Up for North American Tour

The “In Your Love” singer announced in September 2023 he and his band, the Food Stamps, would embark on the tour meant to promote his Rustin’ In The Rain album. Childers added 23 dates across the United States and Canada that October.

Lucky for him, the singer isn’t slated to perform on April 7. That’s the night of the 2024 CMT Music Awards, where Childers is a first-time nominee. He’s competing for Video of the Year and Breakthrough Video of the Year for “In Your Love.”

Quick Facts

Where is tyler childers from, musical beginnings, albums and songs: “in your love,” “all your’n,” and long violent history, wife and son, who is tyler childers.

Country - folk musician Tyler Childers has received seven Grammy nominations during his career, including Best Folk Album for 2020’s Long Violent History and Best Country Album for 2023’s Rustin’ In The Rain . Born in the country music hotbed of Eastern Kentucky, Childers first gained renown with his second studio album Purgatory in 2017. He has released six studio albums to date and is known for incorporating social issue commentary into his songs, as with “Long Violent History” and “In Your Love.”

FULL NAME: Timothy Tyler Childers BORN: June 21, 1991 BIRTHPLACE: Lawrence County, Kentucky SPOUSE: Senora May (2015-present) CHILDREN: 1 son ASTROLOGICAL SIGN: Cancer

Timothy Tyler Childers, known professionally as Tyler Childers, was born on June 21, 1991, and raised in Lawrence County, Kentucky, near the West Virginia border. His father worked in the coal industry, and his mother was a nurse.

Country music heavily influenced the area where Childers grew up. Nearby Route 23, about 20 minutes away, is known as Kentucky’s Country Music Highway, with artists like Dwight Yoakam, Loretta Lynn , and Chris Stapleton once calling the region home. Childers would eventually add his name to the list of local greats, but his path there wasn’t always easy.

The singer was born with clubfoot, a congenital disorder that caused both of his feet to twist out of shape. He underwent surgeries to correct the condition at 8 months and 5 years old—once spending an entire year in a wheelchair—and had to relearn how to walk. He also attended regular checkups at Shriners Children’s hospital in Lexington until he was 18.

Childers has described himself as a “very sensitive child.” He told The Bitter Southerner that although he was raised with his sister and surrounded by family and cousins, he often felt isolated. He was active in his church group but said the fire-and-brimstone teachings he received caused him emotional stress. “I don’t think my mom and dad… went, ‘We’re going to take him [to church] on Sundays and Wednesdays and scare him to death,’ but that’s what it did,” he said .

Especially during his physical recovery, Childers found comfort in books and initially aspired to be a writer. He was drawn to Jack Kerouac works, in particular, as a teenager.

From an early age, Childers also took an interest in music. He sang for his Free Will Baptist Church congregation, learned to play chords on a guitar from his grandfather, and began writing songs when he was around 13. His favorite genres included classic rock , which his father often listened to, and country , including artists like Hank Williams Jr. , Ricky Skaggs, and Alabama.

When he was 15, Childers transferred to Paintsville High School and often played his guitar at lunch to feel more comfortable. His classmates soon invited him to sing at parties and began introducing him to other forms of music. Childers graduated in 2009 and briefly studied at Western Kentucky University and Bluegrass Community & Technical College but ultimately dropped out of school to take odd jobs and fund his music dreams.

Childers began writing his own music and released his first album when he was 19. He built a minor following in Kentucky and West Virginia with his band, the Food Stamps, and caught the attention of Miles Miller, a drummer for Sturgill Simpson. The connection proved to be crucial for the next step in Childers’ career.

Simpson served as a co-producer for Childers’ second album Purgatory , released in August 2017. The singer achieved his first mainstream success, as the record debuted at No. 1 on the Heatseekers Albums chart—highlighting new and emerging artists—and No. 2 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart. It stayed on the latter for 261 weeks. As a result, Childers was named Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2018 Americana Honors & Awards.

Country Squire and “All Your’n”

Childers charted even higher in 2019 with Country Squire , his major label debut with RCA. Anchored by the country-soul ballad “All Your’n,” the project went to No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart. The song also nabbed the singer his first Grammy nomination, for Best Country Solo Performance in 2020.

Long Violent History

Despite country’s track record of love songs and party anthems, Childers showed a willingness to challenge listeners by addressing key social and political issues in his next projects. Upon the release of his 2020 album, Long Violent History , and its titular track that addresses racism and police brutality in its lyrics, Childers recorded an accompanying YouTube message . He asked Appalachia natives like himself to empathize with the Black community in the wake of nationwide protests sparked by the deaths of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and others.

“What can the rest of us who feel seemingly outside of these issues do?” he said. “We can stop being so taken aback by Black Lives Matter . If we didn’t need to be reminded, there would be justice for Breonna Taylor, a Kentuckian like me, and countless others.”

Long Violent History was nominated for Best Folk Album at the next Grammy Awards. Similarly, Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven? (2022) confronted religious intolerance through its faith-based songs two years later.

“In Your Love”

Even more recently, Childers showed support for the LGBTQ community with the 2023 song “In Your Love,” which tells the story of a romance between two male coal miners from Appalachia. The music video for the track featured actors Colton Haynes and James Scully, who both identify as gay.

Childers told NPR he wrote the song to honor a gay cousin who was like a big brother to the singer growing up and who taught him a lot about music. “For all the ugliness that it’s going to bring out that just can’t be helped, this video is going to make real conversations possible,” Childers explained. “This is a story of two people sharing their love and living a life together and experiencing loss. That’s pretty powerful. Once you take away the flash card phrases and like the knee-jerk reactions, how does that make you feel?”

“In Your Love” was nominated for three Grammys—Best Country Song, Best Music Video, and Best Country Solo Performance—in 2024, and Childers earned additional nods for Best Country Album for Rustin’ In The Rain (2023) and Best Americana Performance for “Help Me Make It Through the Night.”

tyler childers posing with his wife senora may for a photo in front of a grammys backdrop

While living and working on a Kentucky farm in 2013, Childers met Senora May, a recent college graduate who was cleaning houses in the area to make extra money. Their relationship quickly blossomed, and the couple married in July 2015.

Like Childers, May is a musician; she has released two albums, Lainheart in 2018 and All of My Love in 2021. The couple also started a charity together. In 2020, they founded the Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund, which raises money for causes such as education, civil rights, and addiction recovery.

Childers has credited May for supporting him as he tried to build his singing career. According to People , they moved in with Childers’ family following their wedding to save enough money to purchase property for a home. Once they were able to do so, the couple lived in a camper van as they built their house.

“For a good chunk of it, Senora May’s put up with me and been there for it,” Childers wrote on his website . “And she stuck with me, so it’s really awesome because we told ourselves that if we made these sacrifices, or held off just a little longer and kept at this, maybe one day it might work out.”

In July 2022, May announced on Instagram she was expecting their first child. The following May, the pair similarly announced the arrival of their son on social media. Childers and May haven’t revealed his name publicly.

Now sober, Childers has struggled with addiction to drugs and alcohol in the past. He told The Bitter Southerner in September 2023 that he reached his low point shortly before the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when he returned home after weeks of hard partying on tour and could barely function.

“All you can do is just nurse a hangover, and Senora doesn’t even want to be around you… and rightly so,” he said . “If I would continue to drink—especially in the way that I was—she wouldn’t have stayed with me. She shouldn’t have stayed with me. I’m extremely blessed that she had the patience… to put up with my s— as long as she did.”

The singer revealed in September 2020 he had stopped drinking and using drugs six months prior, and he has remained sober since.

  • I’m a dial-up man in a 5G world.
  • On addressing social issues in his music: People are like, “Oh, you are so brave.” I think it’s sad that’s a brave thing. To me, it’s just about love. And that’s all it ought to be.
  • My mom loved me to death, and my dad worked his tail off. I didn’t want for nothing. But it came at a price. Time away from family—they worked very hard to take care of us. They instilled in me to work and understand the weight of that.
  • The problem with country is we’ve turned the props into the play. Let’s not just Solo cup and pickup truck it to death. Let’s handle this in a smart way. Nobody is thinking about lyrical content, or how we’re moving people, or what’s going on in the background of their minds.
