Review: The 2019 Trek Remedy 8 is a solid climber and supple descender

Trek Remedy 8 2019, on trail

Earlier this summer I spent an evening comparing a bunch of MTB brands’ entry-level trail bikes. A lot of these bikes sit a little over the $3000 USD mark, but at that price you won’t quite get a ‘total package’ bike. When I came across the Trek Remedy 8, I found what I was after – A build spec that didn’t cry out for upgrades.

Now the price tag on the Remedy 8 takes a step up from ‘entry-level’, but I thought those extra dollars were well accounted for. With a 12-speed Sram GX Eagle drivetrain and a Rockshox Lyric RC fork, this bike comes ready to rock. After testing the Remedy 8 for the last few months, I’d say my impressions held true – I don’t think you can spend much less on a bike that won’t leave you wanting.

If you’re in the market for a mid-spec bike that offers great value and uncompromised on-trail performance, Trek’s redesigned 2019 Remedy 8 is definitely a contender in this class.

What’s changed for 2019:

Trek Remedy 8 2019, new shock mount

The most significant change is the new Remedy’s fixed lower shock mount.  Trek decided to do away with their Full-Floating suspension design, as they’ve determined a fixed mount offers advantages with longer travel bikes. A solid mount helps increase frame stiffness, reduces weight, and allows for shorter chainstays. They also say since air shocks are getting better at small bump compliance (which the full-floating design aimed to enhance), fixing the shock mount doesn’t sacrifice on-trail performance.

Trek Remedy 8 2019, rear tire clearance

As for geometry, Trek didn’t make sweeping changes to the 2019 Remedy. The seat tube is now a bit steeper than before, and offers more insertion clearance to accommodate dropper posts. The new frame also provides more tire clearance, and can now run up to 27.5 x 2.8” treads.

Trek Remedy 8 2019, seat mast gusset

The Remedy 8’s frame is built from Trek’s Alpha Platinum aluminum, and incorporates their beefy straight-shot down tube design and Knock Block headset. Between the shapely top tube, seat mast and the ground-out welds on the seat mast gusset, the frame could be mistaken for carbon at first glance. That is, until you notice the heavy-duty welds at all the other junctions.

Trek Remedy 8 2019, rear shock

The rear end provides 150mm of travel, which is controlled by a RE:activ tuned Rockshox Deluxe RT3 DebonAir rear shock. The Remedy includes Trek’s Mino Link flip chip, which alters the head tube angle by 0.5 degrees and the BB height by 7mm. I felt the bike’s lower/slacker mode was most suitable for my local trails, so I tested it in that setting for the majority of the time.

Trek Remedy 8 2019, rear end and axle

Ride Impressions:

Trek Remedy 8 2019, drive side

One thing that might sound odd at first is the Remedy’s seat tube angle of 68° degrees. However, it’s important to remember this is the figure for the actual seat tube angle. Since the seat mast has quite a kink in the middle, the effective seat tube angle is actually a much steeper 74.7/74.2° in High/Low positions. The seat doesn’t wind up too far behind the bottom bracket, and I was still sitting in an aggressive position for pushing the pedals.

Trek Remedy 8 2019, non drive side

The Remedy’s 65.5 °  steering angle wasn’t too slack for climbing, and gives the bike stable handling on fast downhill sections.  The bottom bracket sits at 13.74″, which was high enough that I wasn’t smashing rocks with my pedals but still provides a low-feeling center of gravity.

Being a smaller guy, I like lightweight bikes. Even with its aluminum frame the Remedy 8 weighs in at 32lbs with pedals (which backs up Trek’s claim of 31lbs without).

Trek Remedy 8 2019, linkage

In its stiffest setting the Rockshox Deluxe RT3 rear shock is very firm. While it will use about half its travel when prompted, it typically rides high and stiff making for a firm ride on bumpy trails. In the stiffest setting I found the rear end would clunk when meeting larger rocks or roots, or when it hit the ground after bouncing over an obstacle. Small bump compliance was good, so I’d recommend using the stiffest mode for logging roads or smoother surfaces.

Trek Remedy 8 2019, me climbing

My local trail’s climbs are mostly singletrack (above photo aside!), so almost all my climbing was done in the middle setting. This mode definitely offers the best balance of pedal support and comfort. I didn’t lose much pedalling efficiency in this setting, but the shock handled bumps much better. Some big bumps can still feel a bit harsh in this mode, so I’d say the Remedy’s uphill ride isn’t as plush as other suspension designs I’ve ridden (FSR and four-bar particularly) but the pedalling efficiency is noticeably better. I found the Remedy also pedalled quite well under standing sprints, only giving up a bit of additional bob.

After reading all about Trek’s RE:activ shock tune, I wondered if these harder uphill impacts were a by-product of the shock’s regressive damping curve . Ideally the shock is supposed to isolate pedaling inputs by resisting compressions at lower speeds, but I wonder if some larger bumps were mimicking that low-speed compression and producing more resistance than desired. Ultimately it was only occasional impacts that produced this clunky feel, which is a small price to pay for the bike’s excellent pedalling abilities.

On really technical climbs leaving the shock wide open will provide great traction and comfort, but there is some loss of efficiency. The bike will give up a little bob and sag rearwards into its travel, so I’d stick with the shock’s middle setting for anything but the roughest trails.

Trek Remedy 8 2019, me descending

I also noticed the Remedy skips over chattery sections very well, and as claimed the ABP suspension remains highly active while braking. The wide-open shock willfully wallows into its travel, which leans the bike into a more aggressive downhill stance and makes it easy to get behind the saddle. While it softens trail inputs extremely well, the shock still provides enough mid-stroke support to pump you through rollers or berms, and resists bottoming out until you give it a good hard smack.

Trek Remedy 8 2019, down tube guard

Another thing I noticed right away is the Remedy’s frame is very stiff. That big, straight down tube gives the bike carbon-like stiffness, which helps you plow straight and true through rough patches of trail. On the flipside, the well-rounded Remedy is still a snappy jumper that pops off roots and rocks easily.

Components:

Trek Remedy 8 2019, fork

Sram’s GX Eagle drivetrain performed without fault for my entire test. I’m stoked that mid-range drivetrains are as good as they’ve become, offering pretty crisp shifting and perfect chain retention thus far. With a 10-50t cassette and a 32t front ring, gear range was never a problem.

Trek Remedy 8 2019, cockpit

There are some house-brand Bontrager parts on the Remedy 8 including the handlebars and stem, the saddle, the 125mm Line dropper post, the Line Comp 30 wheelset and the XR4 Team Issue 2.6” tires. The Line post never gave me any mechanical issues, and I found the 125mm drop was sufficient for a medium-sized rider like myself. The Arvada saddle wasn’t my favorite but was fairly comfortable, so I never swapped it out.

Trek Remedy 8 2019, front wheel and brake

The wheels feature 29mm internal width rims to spread out the 2.6” tires nicely, and they’ve taken no notable damage during my testing. I noticed the Bontrager tires roll very smoothly and quite fast for a fairly luggy MTB tread. They provide pretty solid grip overall, but not quite as much as the Maxxis Minions I got to try on this bike too.

Despite the Sram Guide R brakes having four pistons and 200/180mm rotors to grab, I was surprised to find them not biting as strongly as expected on some high-speed trails. 90% of the time they were perfectly fine, but when the trail goes from ‘high speed straight’ to ‘180 degree corner’ you’ll have to give these levers a good squeeze. ( Editor’s note: We’ve had varied performance out of the SRAM Guide brakes, but there are two things that have drastically improved any set with issues. First, make sure the compression nut at the lever is tight. We just had a set on a stock bike from the factory that were loose enough it was letting air in during the bleed. Second, once those compression nuts are tightened properly, give the brakes a proper full bleed. )

Trek’s 2019 Remedy 8 is a bike that I’d guess will either tempt a lot of buyers out of the entry level price range, or appeal to aluminum fans who are looking for a non-carbon bike with a solid component spec. I was very happy with the Remedy’s two-sided personality – It clenches its teeth when you’re cranking up the trail, yet devours big hits when it’s time to scream downhill. The Remedy 8 is available in Matte Trek Black or Miami Blue, and retails for $3999 USD.

It looks like the surprisingly slack ST result is more based on poor spec communication from TREK. On some of their other bikes they include an Effective ST Angle (see the Remedy 9.7 27.5 for example), from the BB to the saddle which is more relevant to positionals and handling, where on this bike they only show the angle that the seat post actually sits at. Effective ST Angle looks more like 74-76 degrees just by putting a protractor on the screen.

Jake s

Correct- on any frame with a curved/offset seatpost, you can only have a defined STA at any given saddle height. The taller you are, the slacker it is. The listed STA is the angle of the upper portion of the tube relative to flat ground, but the seat tube starts out nearly vertical/forward. I have a 2019 fuel ex with about the same STA and the first time I hopped on it felt like a tri bike it was so steep

Mitar

Effective vs actual seat tube angle…

SC

I had a 2019 Remedy 8 as a loaner/demo. Coming from an older Remedy, the Lyric is an excellent upgrade to the suspension. But that Knock Block is a deal-breaker for me. I was blocked out of my very first turn on the bike during setup in my driveway. That’s a turn I easily accomplish on other bikes and not as tight as some of my most fun trail maneuvers or even a good, long trackstand. There’s no use for a bike that I can’t point where I need it to go.

gibbon

Get someone who has a background in bike journalism to explain the difference between actual set angle and effective seat angle to you.

Tom

Great review, thanks!

Steve Fisher

Hello readers; Regarding the seat tube angle… I must admit, when I re-read my text is sounded like I had given no consideration to the difference between actual and effective seat tube angles, which on this bike was probably worth mentioning. Trek’s website doesn’t list an effective STA, only the actual (and only in the mino link’s High position). My concern was people seeing that number and coming away thinking that the seat tube is super slack on this bike, so I felt the need to mention that it really isn’t. I’ve made an edit to the article which should clear this issue up. I will also get in touch with Trek and see if they can provide me with an effective seat tube angle for the new Remedy, and hopefully I’ll add that in soon. I’m actually glad these comments popped up, they made me realise I could have explained that much better. Happy trails!

Please bring the Remedy 29 back !

Max

No need. This 27.5 Remedy absolutely shreds and climbs briliantly. I happily keep up with mates on more XC style 29ers on the ups and fly on the downs. I was all set to get a 29er but got a great deal on a 2019 Remedy 8 and couldn’t be happier. So playful and fun….absolutely stoked!

Dre

Hi Max, What size did you get? I am 182 cms and thinking the 19.5 but I have read reviews that they feel small.

adam

I’ve put a FOX DPS shock to 2018 Remedy’s, and I realized how big piece of crap is that Deluxe RT3 with Re:activ valve. Now the suspension works as it should be!

Trek Remedy 9 – first ride review

All-rounder full-sus bike that's easy to ride

Russell Burton/Future Publishing

Guy Kesteven

trek remedy black

Trek’s Remedy frame has stayed largely unchanged for a while, but this year’s version is tidier than ever. Sorted componentry completes a very easy to ride all-rounder, although it’s definitely more soft roader than hardcore hammer bike.

Ride & handling: Confidence boosting XC bike

Getting ready to ride is simplified by the included plastic sag indicators. These clip onto the fork leg and shock body to give a usefully accurate baseline pressure setting straight away.

It’s particularly useful on the DRCV dampers because they don’t feel like normal springs in their initial response. That’s because the twin chamber design only opens to full volume at a specific point in the stroke. The first part of travel ramps up quickly from a plush initial start to a stable pedalling platform, as though you’re riding a much shorter travel bike.

While it’s no lightweight, the frame stiffness is impressive for harnessing shoulder and leg power and the XR3 tyres roll okay once you’ve got it going. In other words, once you’re tapping out a tempo rather than trying to accelerate the Remedy cruises and hustles along singletrack and climbs like a tighter, shorter travel rig.

The ABP back end is impressively balanced in relation to pedalling forces, so there’s no obvious tug or kickback when you’re trying to torque your way up a rough, rock/root stepped climb.

The handling is very well balanced otherwise, with enough stem length to keep the front wheel straight on steep climbs but not so long it gets outwitted when you’re weaving it through tight tree switchbacks. The Bontrager tyres are predictable in most conditions.

The frame is impressively stiff from bars to thru-axle back end, and while the Fox 32 fork can feel soft and flexy up front it’s more forgiving than a 34 or Revelation for traction and comfort.

The Mino Link chip gives you the option of slightly quicker handling and more ground clearance when pedalling if you’re in a cross-country mood, or slacking it out and dropping it a fraction for a more surefooted feel (which is what we went for). Being able to drop and raise the saddle instantly is a massive bonus when pushing the pace on roller coaster trails.

The pivot kinematics mean it sucks up mid-sized chunder and bigger speed killing blocks well for a 26in-wheeled bike. Bigger hits also open the second shock chamber automatically for a more linear and lump-hungry feel, and the back end feels seamless but not soggy even when slamming through serious geology.

The same twin chamber system also makes the fork generously plush and linear when you’re plonking down steps off the brakes or rattling over rocks. The lurch from mid-stroke ramp-up to sudden deep dive can catch you out if you’re already pushing the limit of braking/cornering traction and our more aggressive riders really didn’t like it.

Unlike ‘normal,’ single air-chamber forks you can’t just add a bit of oil to make the spring more progressive (ie, get harder to compress as it goes), and Trek’s new volume reducer shim – which does the job instead – isn’t available yet. Using the Trail setting of the CTD damper is enough to noticeably reduce unexpected nosedive, but this fork is just too willing to plunge in big compressions and berms.

Trek’s 2013 Remedy is the most sorted yet – it allies great kit to a confidence-inspiring and friendly character. The smooth DRCV suspension helps even moderate riders milk every millimetre of travel, although more aggressive riders are definitely going to want the fork-firming bungs for more predictable braking and berm-carving performance.

Frame & equipment: Well-evolved and clever

The Remedy frame outline hasn’t changed much since the double-chamber DRCV (Dual Rate Control Valve) shock was added to the bike for 2010. A stiff, tapered E2 head tube, a double-curved down tube, that broad top tube, the single-piece magnesium ‘Evo’ shock linkage and the 142x12mm screw-thru rear axle still keep everything securely in line.

The Full Floater shock – squeezed between an extended swingarm tip and the shock linkage – plus the Active Braking Pivot (ABP) rear pivot design are proven performance enhancers, while a switchable Mino Link on the seatstay can slacken angles by half a degree and drop the bottom bracket 10mm. A plastic down tube guard and chainguide tabs mean it’s ready for whatever roller system radical riders might want to fit, and whatever rocks fly as a result.

The Reverb dropper post is externally routed as standard, but there’s an exit hole for internal routing if you upgrade to the Stealth version of the post. The rear brake mount is IS (International Standard) rather than the new-style post-mount, and the bottom bracket is a conventional screw-in cup style. The second one may not be cutting edge, but will please those who value easy bearing replacement and proven reliability over a contemporary oversized or press-fit crank setup.

Trek have also stuck with a conventional triple chainset to give a full 30 gear spread. Shimano’s ultra reliable XT stop and go gear is a welcome sight for high-mileage-with-low-maintenance fans, and the clutch rear mech keeps the drivetrain quieter.

Bontrager were one of the first to introduce wide yet light trail wheels, and these Rhythm Elite wheels wrapped in big, usefully grippy but not too slow XR3 rubber are a great match for the ride.

The 720mm/80mm cockpit is a decent balance between power assisted steering, reasonable breathing space and tree punching inconvenience, and the fat Bontrager saddle won’t cripple you if you go for a quick blast in your boxer shorts. Though your neighbours might if you don’t wear anything else.

The slick gold Kashima coating on the custom (Trek-only) DRCV Fox fork is a nice touch, and staying with 32 rather than 34mm legs saves half a pound of weight. While the rear shock isn’t similarly gilded, it does share the dual chamber internals and synced CTD (Climb Trail Descend) damping.

How To Measure Yourself

Measure your height.

Our handy size charts match your height to the appropriate frame size so you need to be sure you’ve measured your height accurately.

  • Take off your shoes and stand with your back against a wall.
  • Make sure legs are together and your shoulders are back.
  • Place a pencil on top of your head and mark the wall (the best and easiest way to do this properly is with a friend to help you).
  • Measure from the floor to the pencil mark you have just made with a tape measure.

Range of Reach

For most people to get the right frame size, measuring your height will suffice. However, you may find that your height is on the borderline of the range we suggest for a particular frame. If this occurs you need to measure the range of your reach or “Ape Index”. This will ensure you get a comfortable distance between the handlebars and your saddle.

  • Stand up straight with your back against a wall.
  • Life your arms out horizontally either side of you.
  • Measure the distance from fingertip of one hand to fingertip of the other. This will give you your arm span.
  • Subtract your height from this figure to get your Ape Index.
  • If the result is positive (your arm span is greater than your height) you should go for the larger size of bike.
  • If the result is negative (your arm span is less than your height you need the smaller size.

Stand Over Height

You should also consider your inside leg measurement when choosing your bike to ensure adequate stand over height. Stand over height is the clearance between the top tube and the bottom of your crotch. For mountain bikes we recommend a distance of 2-4 inches and for road or hybrid bikes 1-2 inches of clearance is required. This will ensure comfort when you’re stopped and standing astride the bike.

Our bike sizing charts take stand over height into consideration but if you have a particularly long or short inside leg measurement in relation to your height you will need to bear this in mind when selecting your frame size.

Riding Style

The way you ride and the type of bike you are into will also impact the frame size you should choose. For example, a trail devotee looking for an aggressive ride may prefer a smaller, more manoeuvrable bike size. It all comes down to personal preference and how the bike feels to you.

Our sizing charts aim to be as specific as possible so you can look up the particular type, make and model of bike you’re looking for. Remember, the sizes given in our guides are suggestions and should be used for general advice only. For the best possible fit  we recommend popping in to your local Leisure Lakes Bikes store, or call 0800 083 0888 for expert advice tailored to you.

2023 Trek Remedy 8 Review

The 2023 Trek Remedy 8 Review is a full suspension all-mountain bike built for long days of punishing singletrack.

With a lightweight aluminum frame featuring an advanced suspension design, Boost spacing and innovative RockShox Lyrik Select+ front shock, the Remedy 8 gives you superior control and grip on any kind of terrain.

You’ll always have the power to push the limits, with 27.5″ wheels rolling over rocks and roots, Shimano XT drivetrain powering you up descents and climbs, and Shimano 4 piston hydraulic disc brakes providing reliable stopping power.

2023 Trek Remedy 8 Review

– Alpha Platinum Aluminum frame featuring advanced full suspension design

– RockShox Lyrik Select+, DebonAir spring shock provides smooth and reliable trail performance with plush 160mm of travel

2023 Trek Remedy 8 Review

The frame of the 2023 Trek Remedy 8 is made with Trek’s Alpha Platinum Aluminum.

This combination makes it both stiff yet light, giving you maximum stiffness and power when you’re ripping up hills or through switchbacks but still providing good compliance when you hit rough terrain or jump off something big.

The frame also features a tapered head tube, Knock Block, Control Freak internal routing, downtube guard, and 150mm of travel.

2023 Trek Remedy 8 Review

The Remedy 8 comes equipped with 160mm RockShox Lyrik Select+ forks and Super Deluxe Select+ rear shock.

These provide smooth performance over all sorts of terrain, making it much easier to control your speed along uneven surfaces or over jumps/drops.

2023 Trek Remedy 8 Review

The drivetrain consists of Shimano XT 12-speed components with hydraulic disc brakes featuring a 10-51t cassette paired to a 30t chainring.

This gives you plenty of gearing options while also allowing you to slow down quickly even on rough downhill sections.

On top of that, the lightweight design ensures snappy accelerations and easy shifting even when under loads from steep climbs or heavy drops.

2023 Trek Remedy 8 Review

Wheels & Tires

The 2023 Trek Remedy 8 has 27.5″ Bontrager Line Comp 30 wheels wrapped in Bontrager XR5 Team Issue 2.5″ tires.

These give great traction on both loose soil/dusty conditions as well as harder pack trails where cornering is key!

Plus with Boost spacing, you get increased strength which helps when negotiating high drops and corners taken at speed while still reducing weight overall compared to standard mountain bikes set ups.

Fans looking to reach their ultimate potential on the trails will love what they get out of this powerful rig from Trek!

Loaded with high quality components like RockShox Lyrik Select+ forks, Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain, generous sizing across sizes S – XL framesets; it’s easy to see why some call it one of the best trail bikes available in 2023!

With its value for money price tag too; there’s no doubt about it – this bike should be on yours shortlist if you want serious bang for buck!

Order online and have it shipped to your local dealer for final assembly!!

SPECIFICATIONS

Specifications +.

* All specifications listed are subject to change without notice. Please note that our specifications may be impacted by manufacturer component substitution changes caused by high global demand for bikes and resulting supply chain issues in the bike industry. We recommend confirming the specifications with your local Evo Cycles showroom if you have any questions. Bike Weight: Many brands strive to list the lowest possible weight, but in reality weight can vary based on frame size, finish, hardware and accessories. The most accurate way to determine any bike's weight is to have your local showroom weigh it for you.

‘Abbott Elementary’ Finale: Tyler James Williams on Janine & Gregory’s Fateful Kiss

Tyler James Williams and Quinta Brunson in 'Abbott Elementary' Season 3

Spoiler Alert

Would you like swooon in your inbox signup for our swooon newsletter.

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for Abbott Elementary Season 3, Episode 14, “Party.”]

Abbott Elementary ‘s third season came to a close with a shocking turn of events in Janine ( Quinta Brunson ) and Gregory’s ( Tyler James Williams ) relationship as she hosts a party for her colleagues.

The end-of-school-year celebration is carefully crafted as Janine designates different sections of her small apartment for specific people and activities. One individual who acknowledges her planning is Gregory, who clearly still has feelings for her despite being deterred from exploring things further in the previous installment.

When guests like Manny ( Josh Segarra ) and Olivia ( Lana Condor ) arrive, the tension between Janine and Gregory is further exacerbated as they continue to be unsure about where they stand with one another. As the party gets out of control, the lights go out, and Janine shares a quiet moment with Gregory in her bedroom. But just as they are about to kiss, Mr. Johnson ( William Stanford Davis ) gets the electricity back up and running.

By the time the party starts to die down, Janine mentions that not everyone has to leave, but Gregory exits with Jacob ( Chris Perfetti ), Erica ( Courtney Taylor ), and more. Before getting too far away from the apartment though, Jacob asks Gregory why he’s leaving, and Erica tells him that Janine rejected Manny, hinting that he is losing out on his chance to make things right.

Janine seems to feel the same because, just as she is about to leave her apartment to go after Gregory, he is knocking on her door and wastes no time initiating a long-awaited second kiss between the duo.

What does this mean for Janine and Gregory as we look ahead to Season 4? Star Tyler James Williams is breaking it down for TV Insider, below.

What is your initial reaction when you get a script like this where everyone is outside of school in this cramped apartment? Is there an added pressure to hit every beat?

Tyler James Williams: Well, whenever we leave the school, I know it’s about to get chaotic. There’s this running theme, when we’re at the school, there are things we can control. The minute we leave those four walls, all hell breaks loose. So I knew that by us leaving and going into Janine’s apartment the energy was going to be different. There were a lot of moving parts in a very small space, and I think that’s why Randall Einhorn stepped up and directed the hell out of that episode. So obviously, we knew it was going to be a heavy undertaking. I think we shot in Janine’s apartment for four days. But you’re working with some of the best people and we have a great shorthand, so we’re up for the challenge.

What was Gregory’s biggest obstacle when it came to finally connecting with Janine? Was it himself, Manny, or doubting Mr. Morton?

I think it was all of those things. We had to throw everything at him to get him to hesitate. I think being the actor, having to live in the character’s skin, I have to justify all of these reasons why he’s not just going for this. And I remember as we shot that last scene of Jacob and Erica telling Gregory to go back, I was at that place of I’m losing motivation as to why he’s not just going back in there. But I think it took all of that. It took Ava being the voice of reason, [which is] also really scary. All of that was needed to stop him. But I think ultimately the key to every pessimist is Jacob.

Chris Perfetti and Tyler James Williams in 'Abbott Elementary' Season 3 finale

Disney/Gilles Mingasson

Jacob really is Gregory and Janine’s number-one fan. Do you think having Jacob in Gregory’s corner for this situation was the ultimate tipping point?

I think Jacob is not only just advocating for them and pushing Gregory in the right direction, I think he’s also pulling strings. The fact that he has that conversation on the bus with Janine about Gregory still having feelings… I really truly believe that if we had to figure out what’s been going on in Jacob’s mind is that he’s been developing an ulcer watching this happen, and he’s actually trying to remedy this and realize that he won’t feel better until they just do this. And I think Gregory needed an advocate that was in the school for this. We’ve established that he has friends outside of the school, but nobody would really understand the situation like somebody there. So Jacob is integral to us getting to the finale. And I would say that without him we don’t get there.

Was there a sense of relief that Janine and Gregory have finally reached this point or should fans be cautious?

Well, it was nice to actually rest in the intention fully. I think Gregory’s been very in and out and I think for any actor, it’s difficult not to be all the way in on something because that’s kind of our whole job is to be fully committed. So to have a character who rode this line was difficult, and it was nice to have that moment at the door where he’s actually for the first time, fully committed to this. However, I think people see this as an answer. If anything, it brings up more questions.

Now there’s a whole bunch of other s**t we’re going to have to address. The only person who I think is aware that this might have happened is Jacob. How do we keep this quiet? No one really knows except for him. What happens in their dynamic at the school now? What is this? Are they in a relationship? Are we dating? How do you do that with somebody you’ve known for two years already? So that’s what I liked about [the finale]. It wasn’t a definitive period.

Speaking of Gregory showing up at the door. It feels like his journey this season has seen him be more assertive. What has it been like getting to explore that?

Yeah, I think that’s a big part of his journey. I think we forget that when we first come to Abbott. Gregory is around 25, he’s just now in his mid-twenties. He’s finding his footing as an adult, but I think also as a man, and I think we’ve been watching him find a way to be assertive in a different way that’s kind of calm and less neurotic. But this, to me, was a very clear step of him going after what he wants. I think initially he was very ambitious when it came to his job, but found that that wasn’t rewarding. Now he’s learning how to use that ambition for something else. So I’ve actually really enjoyed playing his growth as a man.

'Abbott Elementary': Tatyana Ali on Crystal & Ava's Epic Playground Relay Race

Gregory and Janine have their second kiss at the end of this episode. Was there pressure to up the ante after delivering a pretty iconic first kiss in Season 2?

Yes. Oh my god, we’ve talked about it so much. We just have to keep finding a way to reinvent this wheel and make it different. So we talked a lot about how do we make this one different. How do we make this one feel different? How do we make this one feel like this is a paradigm shift for them? And that’s what makes this collaborative process so great. It was a combination of conversations with Quinta and Randall in the camera department and then getting in there and pitching different ways to get it done. I’m amazed when it always comes together because we’re always so concerned that it won’t. But it was a source of anxiety for some time. We wanted to make sure that we landed it and we did it right. We wanted it to be fulfilling.

What would you like to see for Gregory and Janine as the show continues into Season 4?

Thankfully, they’re both very professional people who enjoy doing their jobs in a professional way. Incorporating feelings has made that difficult, but now these feelings are out in the open. I really want to see how they navigate, how much of their personal life comes into the workspace and vice versa, and how much of the workspace comes into their personal life. What’s the balance? Because you’ve always known each other in a professional sense and now you’re getting to know each other in a deeper romantic sense.

Trek Roscoe 24

Trek Roscoe 24

Roscoe 24 is a mid-fat kids' mountain bike designed to build confidence on the trail. It takes cues from the adult Roscoe, but this ride was built from the ground up for kids. 2.8" mid-fat tires, a 1x drivetrain, and a wide-range cassette make Roscoe the ideal bike for little rippers who want to build skills and have a ridiculous amount of fun keeping up with Mom, Dad, or an older sibling. Fit for riders 51-59" tall. It's right for you if... Your little shredder is ready to hop off the neighborhood streets and onto the trail, and you want to get them started the right way with a real-deal mountain bike that builds skills and confidence from the outset. If you're looking to teach your little one the wisdom of the trail, there's no better teaching tool than Roscoe. The tech you get A durable Alpha Gold Aluminum frame with a sloping top tube for added clearance, 24" wheels with mid-fat 2.8" tires for added traction and stability, a 1x8 Shimano drivetrain with a wide-range cassette for hills and technical sections, mechanical disc brakes, and loads of thoughtful details borrowed from adult MTB tech, like a closed front dropout and a tucked-in rear brake caliper so when kids drop their Roscoe it doesn't mean an automatic trip to the shop for a replacement part. The final word Give a kid a Roscoe and you'll make a mountain biker for life. Mid-fat tires and a wealth of kid-specific design details make this bike the perfect introduction to the trail. If your little one is ready to tag along when you hit the singletrack, this is the kid-friendly set-up that's made to build confidence, skills, and a healthy obsession with the world's greatest activity. Why you'll love it - There's no family outing as fun as a trail session, and Roscoe is the ideal kids' bike for building great memories - This isn't a small adult bike—it's built from the ground up for kids, by people who know exactly what works for them and what doesn't - When you're learning to ride, simplicity is best: a 1x8 drivetrain lets kids focus on keeping the rubber side down - The kid-specific frame geometry has a sloping top tube that makes it easier to hop on and off - The rear brake caliper is tucked into the frame to help prevent damage from laying the bike down

Trek has slashed prices on its long-travel 29er enduro bike, too. The Slash 9.8 XT Gen 5 is selling at 25% off, for only £4,500, which gets you a RockShox ZEB fork, Shimano XT 1x12 drivetrain, four-piston brakes and Line Elite 30 carbon wheels, with a 108T internals gearing the rear hub.

Dedicated trail and enduro riders value dropper posts but if your dropper needs replacement or upgrading, Bontrager Line Elite droppers are only £251.99 discounted from £359.99. These dropper post deals apply to both 34.9- and 31.6mm diameter Line Elites.

Bontrager’s premium Rally mountain bike helmets are now only £89.99, instead of £149.99.

What’s the cheapest deal with Trek’s big sale? That will be the Bontrager left-side load water bottle cage. A handy upgrade (literally), especially for endurance mountain bikers and riders on XS frames, at only £6.99.

Trek’s sale runs until the end of April.

Teen Titans' Darkest Costumes Return in Dark Injustice Cosplay

Harley quinn's cosplay-ready "hot mom on a road trip" look has the perfect accessories, "i had to rescue her": x-men writers made [spoiler] a mutant to stop marvel retiring the character.

  • Starfire's new outfit in Titans #11 pays tribute to the beloved Teen Titans show with a subtle reference fans shouldn't miss.
  • DC should consider featuring Starfire's new outfit and tote bag in their merch shop.
  • With the hype surrounding DC's upcoming Teen Titans live-action movie, there will likely be Titan-inspired merch to come.

WARNING: Contains Potential Spoilers for Titans #11!

Teen Titans fans will regret it if they miss this amazing reference to the beloved show featured on Starfire’s latest outfit. This subtle yet perfect callback would make an ideal addition to DC's merch store. But this new outfit isn’t the only Starfire-inspired item DC should consider making available to fans.

Titans #11 by Tom Taylor and Lucas Meyer sees Nightwing and his team attacked by their newest adversary, Vanadia, an AMAZO-like cyborg possessing all of the Titans' powers. Programmed by Dr. Morrow and Amanda Waller to believe the Titans are robots that must be destroyed, Vanadia strikes in the middle of the night, forcing the team to fight in their pajamas.

Starfire’s pajamas are particularly notable, featuring a blink-and-you-miss-it reference to the Teen Titans cartoon. On the breast pocket area of her purple zip-up hoodie is the Teen Titans Go! version of Silkie, Starfire’s pet moth larva.

Starfire’s New Purple Pajamas Pay Tribute to Her Pet Worm in Teen Titans GO!

Fans of the animated shows Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go! are well acquainted with Starfire’s beloved pet, Silkie. Silkie was originally one of the thousands of mutant caterpillars created by Killer Moth. However, after a confrontation with the grubs, Beast Boy brought one back to the Tower and asked Starfire to help keep the little larva hidden from their teammates. Although initially hesitant, Starfire quickly became attached to Silkie, and soon the little grub became closely associated with her character .

Unfortunately, Silkie doesn’t quite fit the narrative tone of most comics featuring Starfire and her fellow Titans. However, Taylor and Meyer brilliantly found a way to sneak the little grub into the storyline. Alongside the Silkie reference, Starfire’s pajama set is exceptionally cute and comfy-looking, undoubtedly appealing to many fans. If DC were smart, they would capitalize on the hype surrounding this issue and add Starfire’s Silkie-inspired pajamas to the DC Shop . It’s a shame that DC doesn’t offer more subtle, everyday wear like this, but now is the perfect time to remedy that oversight.

Red Hood joins forces with Teen Titans' Starfire, Cyborg, and Raven in one of the most badass Injustice cosplays to date, leaving fans wanting more.

Stafire’s Silkie-Inspired Tote Bag NEEDS to Be Made Into Buyable DC Merch

In a preview of Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo’s upcoming Teen Titans: Starfire , set for release on November 5, 2024, fans were treated to a sneak peek of Starfire’s character design for this graphic novel, which included a tote bag resembling her beloved grub. This Silkie tote bag could be an amazing real-world accessory. Loungefly, the licensed pop culture apparel and accessory company, would be the ideal choice to bring it to life. With a teased Teen Titans live-action movie in the works at DC, now is the perfect time to bring these Starfire -inspired accessories to life.

TITANS #11 is available now from DC Comics!
