The trip itself was good. I had a great time.
What people love about Garda Tours
Cosmos Italian Lakes tour was great. Our tour director, Firenzia, did a terrific job. A few minor criticisms -- some of the hotels were not centrally located; the restaurant for the excursion to the mountain top in Switzerland was not very good. Otherwise, a really excellent trip.
Everything was well planned. Hotels were exquisite, and suggested activities were lovely. No problems with all vouchers. Gorgeous scenery, and fantastic locations. We could have used a few more specific instructions with directions/parking info, for the suggested locations. Overall, we completely loved our lake region Italian vacation! Highly recommend.
We enjoyed the tour itinerary, but thought that the hotels were sub-par, especially in Breschia: dumpy hotel in a sketchy part of town. It is a hectic itinerary and could be stretched out by a day. There was no time at end of the day to do other than: shower, eat a meal, and go to bed for an early start the next day.

SINCE 2005 CYCLING HOLIDAYS ON LAKE GARDA, VERONA AND VALPOLICELLA
Garda Bike Hotel ( GBH ) brings you custom bicycling holidays in one of the finest cycling destinations, the Lake Garda and Verona region of Northern Italy. Our region offers a variety of terrain for a diversity of rides , all with spectacular scenery. Since 2005, Brothers Alberto and Nicola Verdolin have created top quality cycling holidays with daily guided bike tours for recreational to competitive level cyclists.
Alberto and Nicola and their team know the people of this region along with their language and customs, the local food and wine, and the best cycling roads, providing you with an extraordinary and unforgettable Italian cycling holiday . And, as an official PINARELLO rental center , you are assured to be riding with Italian style and performance.
Sister company, Andiamo Cycling offers the same quality cycling holidays to nearby iconic Italian cycling destinations (Dolomites, Lake Como, Italian Alps, Tuscany, to name a few) and participation in famous Italian cycling events & Granfondo (Maratona Dles Dolomites, Granfondos Strade Bianche, Pinarello, Il Lombardia, for example). Whether at Garda Bike Hotel or on tour with Andiamo, we will make your dream Italian Cycling vacation come true .
A LOCAL FAMILY BUSINESS
We know the area intimately. Unlike foreign tour-operators, Nicola & Alberto themselves are the bike managers and part of the guide team, all of whom live in the area. A holiday at this local establishment ensures an authentic Italian cycling experience and the hospitality will make you feel like part of the family.
3 RIDE LEVELS AND A FLEXIBLE WEEKLY PROGRAM
We have 3-4 daily guided rides to choose from, scaled for pace, distance, and level of climbing . Our terrain and our routes are varied and allow us to offer flatter rides, mountain rides and everything in between. Our weekly program takes into consideration the number and the level of our cycling guests, the weather forecast, and special ride events and requests.
SMALL GROUPS
We keep our rides small and personal with a maximum of about 30 cyclists per day, and small groups of 5-10 cyclists per guide . Each group has an exclusive guide and sometimes two guides to lead and look after the cyclists. If you are a group of friends , you always have your private guide and a custom program .
OFFICIAL PINARELLO BIKE RENTAL CENTER
We have more than 50 Pinarello bikes for rent , including the fabulous Pinarello Dogma F Disk (or the new Dogma X ) with Shimano Di2 electronic shifting and the Pinarello Nytro eBike , among others. Additionally, we partner with several other Italian cycling companies (Ale’ kits, Vittoria tires), to provide you with an authentic Italian experience.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE ON YOUR SCHEDULE
There are no fixed days for your arrival and departure . You can plan your own itinerary and start and end your cycling holiday when and as you wish.
PERFECT LOCATION FOR TRAVELERS AND NON CYCLISTS
We are located within a reasonable distance to all the main airports of Northern Italy: Milan, Verona, Bergamo, Venice . The train station is one block from the hotel, making sightseeing and travel to and from other areas of Italy easy.

Escorted tour
Explore lake garda, venice and verona on a northern italian adventure.
Step into Italian lakeside life on this week-long tour and discover why the romantic beauty of Italy's northern region has enraptured poets and artists for centuries.
Stretching from the narrow, almost fjord-like landscapes of its mountain-fringed north to the sun-kissed, rolling plains of its southern shores, Lake Garda is one of the country's most picturesque regions, edged by lofty peaks and overflowing with crisp mountain air.
You can choose which lakeside resort town you'll be based at during this trip - please call our friendly reservations team for details. For example, you might choose to stay at the three-star villa-style Hotel Cristina, close to the enchanting town of Limone sul Garda with its oleanders, palms, and olive and lemon trees dotting the mountainside. This lakefront hotel has two swimming pools, an excellent restaurant, and two bars with magnificent views.
Your free days can be spent relaxing at the hotel, or exploring nearby Limone, perhaps shopping in its stylish boutiques or enjoying an aperitif in a lakefront cafe.
From your beautiful hotel base you'll make a trip to Verona - the setting of Romeo and Juliet's ill-fated romance - where centuries-old city walls encircle the pink-hued mediaeval old town of narrow streets and historic architecture.
Your final excursion will be to Venice, a city which needs no introduction. This cultural powerhouse and romantic icon captivates everyone who visits, with iconic landmarks including St Mark's Basilica, Doge's Palace, and the Rialto Bridge.

During his tour of Italy in the late 18th Century, the famous writer Goethe described Torbole as "a marvel of nature, an enchanting place". And this stunning lakeside town still retains its charm and beauty today. On our tours to Lake Garda, we’ll visit this quaint village and fishing harbour, which has preserved its original 15th Century appearance. So, whether you’re interested in exploring the town or simply want to relax and take in the stunning scenery, Torbole will be a highlight of our Lake Garda holiday.
Riva Del Garda
Riva del Garda is one of the many charming towns that dot Lake Garda. Located on the northern shore, this picturesque retreat is surrounded by imposing mountains on one side and sparkling blue water on the other. While this is a great location from which to explore the lake, it is also an attraction in itself. On our trips to Lake Garda, we’ll have time to immerse ourselves in Italian culture as we stroll along the winding streets and beautiful waterfront of the town. With our expert guide, we’ll learn about the history of this region as we take in medieval archways, renaissance churches, and narrow cobbled streets.
The town of Limone is another beautiful town from which to explore the beauty and history of Lake Garda. The heart of Limone old town is centred around its beautiful little harbour, the Porto Vecchio. This area is a great place to relax and unwind with its picturesque waterfront terraces and plenty of waterfront cafés from which we can enjoy the lakeside views while sipping on a cappuccino. The quaint narrow streets around the port are filled with gorgeous boutiques and shops, and with plenty of free time, we can shop to our hearts’ content.
The Dolomites
The jagged mountain peaks of the Dolomites overlook the northern edge of Lake Garda and many visitors to the lake choose to spend time exploring this impressive mountain range. On our holidays to Lake Garda, we’ll have the opportunity to visit the scenic town of Bolzano in southern Tyrol, known as the gateway to the Dolomites. Get up close to these stunning mountains as we take a cable car ride to the high plateau of Renon before enjoying a train ride through the mountain farms of the beautiful Dolomites.

VERDOLIN FAMILY
We are the latest generation of the Verdolin family, which has always been into hotels and catering. It all started with my father Lorenzo’s parents. Granddad Ettore and grandma Bruna were true pioneers who started off with a restaurant, and who then expanded the business with a just a few rooms. In time this inn became well-known among the travellers of the so-called “Bassa Veronese” area, the huge plain south of Verona that was famous for its rice fields.
My father grew up in the kitchen, where he tasted grandma’s pies. After helping out in his parents’ restaurant and running the inn, he met Elvira, our mum, and decided to follow in his parents’ footsteps.

Trip Itinerary
Activity Level: Leisurely
Travel to italy, transfer to lake garda.
Upon arrival in Italy, you will be met in the arrivals area of the airport by our local representative who will accompany you to your hotel. As you travel to your hotel, your guide will share some information about the local region, suggest activities for you to enjoy and answer any questions you may have.
Boat Trip On Lake Garda
Explore lake garda.
After breakfast, join your guide for a short walking tour of Riva. Following this, you'll board a private boat for a unique sightseeing tour. Your first stop will be at Limone, a small village backed by lemon groves, with waterside cafes and cobbled streets lined with shops. Afterwards, with fantastic panoramas and a spectacular mountain backdrop, travel onwards for a visit to picturesque Malcesine, famed for its medieval Scaligero Castle. The boat will then return to Riva del Garda, but if you wish to stay on, you may return by public bus or boat later in the afternoon (this will be at your own expense). If remaining in Malcesine, we recommend a trip in the cable car which will take you 1,800 metres above sea level, with spectacular views.
For holidays based in Limone, a coach transfer has been arranged from your hotel to Riva del Garda, where there will be a short walking tour and some free time before beginning your boat tour.
Please note that this schedule refers to summer season only, and is weather-dependent. During winter months, there will be an excursion to Bolzano, in the scenic southern Tyrol.
Please Note
At leisure or optional excursion, free time in lake garda.
Today, you will have a full day to relax and enjoy Lake Garda's charms. Shop, sightsee at your own pace or sit by the lake and take in the incredible views. You can take a water taxi across the lake to explore at your leisure and your local guide will be happy to suggest activities to suit your interests and advise which highlights are a must see.
Optional Excursion - The Italian Alps with wine tasting
Your local guide will offer an optional excursion to the Italian Alps with a wine tasting included. (Subject to minimum numbers)
Excursion to Venice
On today's full day excursion you will explore the enchanting warren of canals, alleys and squares that make up the fascinating city of Venice. Known as 'La Serenissima' or The most Serene,Venice is a prized jewel in Italy's glorious crown. Witness its famous landmarks such as St. Mark's Square, the stunning Gothic building of Ca’ d’Oro , and the imposing Palazzo Ducale. Admire 16th and 17th century art in the Galleria Franchetti and take a photograph on the Ponte di Rialto. You'll have free time to admire the piazzas, bridges and ornate dwellings that adorn the quaysides of Venice's extensive network of canals, before returning to your hotel in Lake Garda.
Please note that for holidays departing in July and August, this excursion will depart your hotel in the late morning, stopping for a light lunch (included) en route, before travelling onwards to Venice in the afternoon and returning to Lake Garda in the evening.
Explore Lake Garda at Your Own Pace
Today, you will have the day at leisure. In the heart of Riva del Garda is the Piazza III Novembre, surrounded by 14th century porticos and the Apponale Tower, a former defence tower and World War I prison. This square is a beautiful place to explore during your free time. Don't forget to check with your local guide who will be delighted to suggest further activities to suit your interests.
Trip to Verona
Following breakfast, you will depart by coach for Verona, via the east side of the lake or the motorway. Either way, the journey time is generally about 60 minutes. Verona is very popular among tourists as well as being a significant commercial hub, given its position half way between Venice and Milan. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to the importance of its historical buildings and is probably best known today for the Roman amphitheatre, now home to the world famous Verona Opera festival, which runs from late June to early September. Also of interest is Juliet's balcony - the fact that the balcony was added to the house in the 20th century doesn't deter the hundreds of thousands of visitors that flock to see and photograph it every year.
Spend your last day enjoying the beautiful lakeside setting, shopping for last minute souvenirs or enjoying a coffee, gelato or glass of wine at a local cafe.
Return Home
Depart italy.
You will be transferred to the airport with guide assistance for your flight home.

About the tour
Lake Garda day-trip from Milan
The private tour will begin with your private driver collecting you from your hotel in Milan (another custom location in the area can be agreed) with a luxury sedan or minivan. Enjoy a tour that takes you around Italy’s largest lake. You’ll visit together with your tour guide some of Lake Garda’s most beautiful resort areas, such as Salò, the Sirmione peninsula, and the medieval town of Lazise.
After 2H drive you will reach Lazise a picturesque village with an old centre still guarded by its water-to-water town walls that ape the town’s chessboard square. This opens onto one of Garda’s most delightful tiny harbours, slender fishing boats occupying one side, bars and restaurants the other.
You will then proceed to Sirmione, a town built on the end of an impossibly thin, appendix-like peninsula sticking out from the southern shore of Lake Garda . This pretty village has drawn the likes of Catullus and Maria Callas to its banks over the centuries, and today millions of visitors follow in their footsteps for a glimpse of Lake Garda’s prettiest place. Here you can also have free time for lunch, enjoying genuine food in a typical restaurant.
The tour will continue to Salò: wedged between the lake and the foothills of Monte San Bartolomeo, Salò exudes an air of courtly grandeur, a legacy of its days as Garda’s capital when the Venetian Republic held sway over the lake. These days it’s better known as the erstwhile de facto capital of the Italian Socialist Republic, the puppet state led by Mussolini between 1943 and 1945.
After the visit of Salò, the day tour will then conclude with a transfer back to your hotel in Milan or other desired location.

There are many reasons to visit Andalusia, but none are more compelling than its vibrant riverside capital. Originally founded by the Romans and later conquered by the Moors, Seville is rich in cultural traditions. “As one of the most significant Atlantic ports on the Iberian Peninsula dating back to ancient times, its monumental heritage creates an amazing combination of history, beauty, and food for travelers to enjoy,” says Alvaro Carmona , a ToursByLocals guide based in Seville.
Elegant and endlessly attractive, the city displays almost constant reminders of its time under Moorish rule with striking landmarks such as the Royal Alcázar of Seville (one of the most beautiful places to visit in Spain ) and La Giralda as standouts. Seville is the birthplace of flamenco with many famous venues for visitors to take a lesson or catch a show. It’s also the storied backdrop for over 100 operas — among them "Carmen," "The Barber of Seville," and "Don Juan de Mañara" — and has some world-class museums. The tapestry of influences, abundance of regional products, and immense local talent translate to a culinary scene that rivals the many epicurean power players throughout the country. Plus, the Mediterranean climate means sunshine, blue skies, and warm weather throughout the year — so it’s always a good time for sightseeing and enjoying a glass of wine or sherry at an alfresco café.
Whether you're looking to tour UNESCO sites or sample tasty tapas (probably both, right?), use this guide full of recommendations from local insiders to plan the perfect trip to Seville.
Top 5 Can’t Miss

Hotel Alfonso XIII, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seville
What did the king of Spain do when he needed to host international dignitaries during the 1929 Ibero-American Exhibition? He commissioned a grand hotel befitting his high-status guests, of course. Nearly a century later, Hotel Alfonso XIII, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seville remains a symbol of grandeur and glamour that easily goes toe-to-toe with the most spectacular stays in Barcelona and Madrid.
Nobu Seville
The new Nobu Seville brings its signature sense of Japanese minimalism to Plaza San Francisco. While loyalists will find all the Nobu classics — black cod, rock shrimp tempura, and toro tartare with caviar — the 25-key property also exudes a soulful sense of place thanks to traditional Andalusian touches and a rooftop terrace with a guest-only plunge pool, leafy gardens, and sweeping city views.
Hotel Mercer Seville
Ever dreamt of snoozing in a palace? Situated inside the former Casa Palacio Castelar in the heart of the El Arenal quarter, Hotel Mercer Seville is full of history. The refined boutique atmosphere and relaxing suites complete with oak floors, crisp linens, and high ceilings make it an ideal place to unwind after visits to nearby Nueva Square and Real Maestranza Bullring.
Hotel Palacio de Villapanes
Originally built by Admiral López-Pintado in 1729 and later the residence of the Marquis of Villapanés and his descendants, Hotel Palacio de Villapanes still reflects its roots as a Baroque mansion. The tiled central courtyard with a fountain, leafy plants, and arched columns commands focus. Not to be outdone, noble suites show off immense carved wooden doors, high ceilings, and Philippe Starck-designed tubs.
Radisson Collection Hotel, Magdalena Plaza Sevilla
For something a bit more modern, check into the Radisson Collection Hotel, Magdalena Plaza Sevilla . The brand’s first outpost in Spain blends clean lines and local character. Blue velvet accent chairs evoke the Andalusian sky, while plants nod to the many leafy squares and gardens around the city. “It’s also well positioned in the shopping area and very close to many top tourist attractions,” adds Carmona.
Tour the Royal Alcázar of Seville.
The first thing on the to-do list for many travelers coming to Seville? A visit to the UNESCO-listed Royal Alcázar of Seville, a stunning architectural masterpiece and historic royal palace crowned by ornamental tile work, carvings, and artwork that grew out of a 10th-century citadel.

Visit the Seville Cathedral.
The impressive Seville Cathedral is the largest Gothic Christian church in the world. Size aside, it’s breathtakingly beautiful and also boasts the iconic La Giralda, which was originally constructed as a minaret for the Great Mosque of Seville and later converted into a bell tower.
See a flamenco show.
“No trip to Seville is complete without experiencing the passion and intensity of a traditional Flamenco show,” says Antonio Morilla, head concierge at Hotel Alfonso XIII, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seville . La Casa del Flamenco and Tablao Flamenco El Arenal are some of the most famous theaters to watch the Andalusian dance.
Learn about Spanish history at the Archivo General de Indias.
Occupying a stately 16th-century merchant guild building, Archivo de Indias is an archive dedicated to the history of the “New World.” It holds more than 80 million pages of documents, photographs, drawings, and diaries from the likes of Columbus, Cortés, and Pizarro.

Stroll through the Plaza de España.
Designed by Sevillian architect Aníbal González for the Ibero-America Exhibition of 1929, Plaza de España is one of Seville's crown jewels. The famous plaza comprises magnificent buildings that marry elements from art deco, Spanish Renaissance Revival, Spanish Baroque Revival, and Neo-Mudéjar architectural styles, plus a large fountain, canals, and tile-accented bridges.

Michelin-starred Cañabota draws admiration from diners and critics alike. “It’s well-regarded for its modern versions of classic Sevillian seafood dishes and fantastic wine list,” says Morilla. Pro tip: Grab a seat at the counter to watch the masterful cooking up close.
Abantal is an elegant Michelin-starred restaurant that’s famous for its refined, flavorful cuisine. Head chef Julio Fernández combines Andalusian cooking traditions, innovative techniques, and high-quality local ingredients into incredible gastronomic tasting menus. It’s worth splurging on the wine pairing.
Sobretablas
Helmed by chef Camila Ferraro and sommelier Robert Tetas, Sobretablas celebrates the bounty of Andalusia in exciting and elevated ways. The cuisine puts a contemporary twist on classic regional recipes and pairs perfectly with the selection of natural and organic wines.
Bodeguita Romero
Out-of-towners and locals rub elbows over jamón ibérico, bull tail stew, and smoked sardine toast, plus Spanish wine and sherry, at Bodeguita Romero , a buzzy tapas bar in El Arenal that often has a line around the block. Carmona calls it “an essential stop in Seville.”
La Cochera del Abuelo
Tucked inside an 18th-century carriage house, La Cochera del Abuelo feels warm and intimate. The food very much matches the homey atmosphere. The curated menu changes regularly, so there’s always something new yet deliciously familiar to tickle your tastebuds.
With more than 3,000 sunny hours annually, Seville is really beautiful every day of the year. Carmona favors the beginning of spring when more than 40,000 bitter orange trees flower at the same time. “It’s simply magical!”
Seville Airport (SVQ) sits just six miles from the city center. It mainly receives domestic flights, so most travelers connect through Madrid. “If you're coming from another Spanish city, particularly the capital, taking the train is a great option. The high-speed trains (AVE) are very comfortable, reliable, and fast, allowing you to reach Seville from Madrid in approximately 2.5 hours,” explains Morilla.
The old Jewish quarter is known for its narrow, winding streets lined with whitewashed houses, picturesque plazas, and the city’s most famous landmarks, including the Royal Alcázar of Seville, the Seville Cathedral, La Giralda, and the Flamenco Museum.
“Located on the west bank of the Guadalquivir River, El Arenal offers a vibrant atmosphere, historic buildings, and cultural attractions such as the Maestranza Bullring and the Torre del Oro. According to Morilla, it’s also a great neighborhood for tapas and nightlife.
Flamenco was born in Triana, and the residential neighborhood is still a great place to see a show. “The incredible views over the city center, the ceramic workshops, and the many bars also make it a wonderful area to spend time on a trip to Seville,” says Carmona.
Seville was plotted out long before the invention of cars, when people used to walk and ride horses. “In my opinion, strolling around is the best way to slowly savor the beauty of the many squares, churches, gardens, museums, landmarks, and bars,” says Carmona.
