New Star Tours Merchandise Arrives to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hi everyone!

Star Tours added new adventures today, as well as new merchandise at Tatooine Traders in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We were invited to a media event early this morning, and have a video interview about the merchandise (plus photos with prices below).

Here is our video first, followed by photos.

Most of the merchandise was available at Star Tours today, but not all.

The merchandise includes shirts, a hat and StarSpeeders.

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue Premium T-Shirt – $39.99. This shirt includes Darth Vader and the Death Star, and an embroidered Star Tours logo.

Women’s Premium Shirt (Crop Top) – $39.99 – this shirt features R2-D2, C-3PO and the StarSpeeder 1000, along with the Star Tours logo.

Star Tours Baseball Cap – $29.99

Adult Hoodie – $69.99 – inspired by Cast Member costumes.

Here is the back of the hoodie, which says “Star Tours – The Adventures Continue” and “Walt Disney World”.

NEW Star Tours Merchandise Celebrates the Adventures Continuing!

Today’s the day that fans have been counting down towards…a series of brand NEW scenes have finally debuted in Star Tours!

As they say, the Adventures really have Continued!

You can bet our MickeyBloggers were one of the first in line to ride the attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios this morning, and you can check out our full coverage of the new ride additions in our post here .

However, right now what we’re doing is taking a moment to celebrate the occasion in a different way…via all this new commemorative merchandise that has landed in the park!

Because, as we all know, it’s the merch that really makes an occasion at Disney!

There are quite a number of new items to be found by the ride today, so let’s go and check it out together!

Star Tours Hat

We’ll start off the collection by admiring this cool new cap. It’s black in color, yet features that iconic “Star Tours: The Adventures Continue” logo embroidered on the front in a bold, contrasting blue.

Down the side of the hat, we can see “StarSpeeder 1000” embroidered too — giving reference to the ship guests ride when they fly with Star Tours. How cool?

This costs $29.99.

Star Tours T-Shirt

Obviously, there’s going to be a couple of new shirts in the collection too! We’ll start with this one, which is a classic, cream-colored crew neck, in a cropped style.

On the front, the Star Tours emblem has been embroidered over the chest in a cool, eye-catching orange shade. 

However, once you flip the shirt over, you’ll see even more of a whacky design on the back!

Here we’ve got C-3PO and R2-D2 stood by the Star Tours logo, with the Walt Disney World logo also printed beneath. A StarSpeeder soars in the distance and stars glitter all across the top!

You’ll notice that none of the new Star Tours merchandise items released today incorporate any of the new characters seen in the attraction’s update, such as from Ahsoka , The Mandalorian, and more. 

Instead, the collection is reflective of the “classic” Star Tours experience, full of nostalgia and spirit!

The next tee we found is this slate gray in color, and features a bold graphic emblazoned across the front.

In the graphic, we can see all kinds of Star Wars ships, including the Death Star, some TIE Fighters, and, of course, a StarSpeeder 1000.

Star Tours Flight Suit Sweater

The next item might be the coolest in the collection!

It’s a hoodie, designed to look just like a Star Tours flight suit!

Eye-catching in blue, orange, and black, this fun jacket features the “Star Tours: The Adventures Continue” logo and the Walt Disney World emblem printed across the back.

Star Tours StarSpeeder 1000 Model

The last new item we have to show you today isn’t apparel, but instead this cute, die-cast model. 

Despite the packaging labeling it a “car,” this red ship is instantly recognizable as a StarSpeeder 1000, and would make a great keepsake addition to any Star Wars -inspired model collection!

It cost $9.99.

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue is a 3D motion simulator that takes guests on a lightspeed journey through the Star Wars universe. Guests enter the Starspeeder 1000 for a scenic tour courtesy of Star Tours. This tour is quickly halted due to the presence of a spy from the Rebel Alliance. Guests are taken on a whirlwind tour of the Star Wars universe. Because the attraction is randomized, you never know where you might end up.

Guests may visit Coruscant, Naboo, or even the Death Star, in addition to other locations. You may even end up being chased by a bounty hunter like Boba Fett! On your Star Tours tour, you will be piloted by C-3PO and R2-D2. In addition to these characters, you may encounter Princess Leia, Admiral Ackbar, Darth Vader, Jar Jar Binks, Chewbacca, or any of a variety of other Star Wars characters. There are over 50 combinations of Star Tours adventures with scenes from all of the Star Wars films, even The Force Awakens. You can experience unique adventures nearly every time you ride Star Tours, making it a ride that can be enjoyed again and again.

Did you know.

• Star Tours closed and re-opened in May 2011 with new adventures and randomized scenes.
• In the queue, look to the left in the baggage check area. You can see the droid Rex, the pilot of the original Star Tours.
• Anthony Daniels, the original C-3PO continues his role in the attraction.
• If flight simulators make you nauseous, sit towards the middle of the attraction for a less aggressive ride.
• When The Force Awakens released, scenes changed in the attraction.

Hidden Mickeys:

• Look for a white Hidden Mickey on a tree trunk in the Ewok Village portion of the queue.
• In Tattooine Traders, the gift shop, look for a Hidden Mickey with bullet hole “ears” on a counter.

INTRODUCTION

This flight simulator ride is inspired by places and events in the Star Wars movies. The StarSpeeder 1000 takes passengers to a variety of different planets in the Star Wars universe where they will experience several different adventures, as well as encounter some familiar characters along the way! With more than 50 different combinations, guests can have a new experience with every flight. Star Tours is located at the entrance to Tomorrowland.

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue is an updated version of the original Star Tours attraction which opened in 1987 and closed in 2010. While the original attraction featured only one destination and one flight experience, the new version takes travelers to three different locations – and frequent flyers will find that it’s rarely the same three places! In fact there are 54 different experiences with destinations like Naboo, Tatooine, Hoth, Kashyyk and Coruscant. All of the film footage is brand new and was filmed in digital 3D, giving it additional depth and realism.

Queue : The queue winds through the terminal area of the Star Tours spaceport and will remind anyone who has ever traveled via air of the airport experience, complete with security scans and luggage screening. Large flight status displays on the walls list the arrivals, departures and destinations of upcoming flights. Audio-animatronic characters, including C-3PO and R2-D2, are engaged in various tasks like equipment maintenance while the G2-9T droid dutifully screens baggage (be on the lookout for some odd contents in some of the bags).

Before boarding their StarSpeeder 1000 guests will view a short safety video featuring spokesbot Aly San San, describing loading procedures and seat belts.

Star Tours : Designed by teams from both Disney Imagineering and George Lucas’ Industrial Light and Magic, the 40-seat flight simulator combines motion with an action-packed 3D video to send passengers soaring into an unforgettable journey. C-3PO and R2-D2 are your droid pilots as a run-of-the-mill interplanetary flight unexpectedly becomes a perilous mission to protect a Rebel spy from the Galactic Empire. The five-and-a-half-minute ride is full of thrills as it travels through hyperspace to its multiple destinations, which might include a pod race on Tatooine, a speeder pursuit on Kashyyk or an underwater submarine chase on Naboo. C-3PO and R2-D2 eventually manage to land the Starspeeder and its passengers safely at their destination.

TOURING TIPS

The height requirement for Star Tours is 40 inches. Young children should be accompanied by an adult.

Because the motion simulator can be fairly rough, pregnant women and people with other medical considerations, including motion sickness, and back and neck problems, are advised not to ride Star Tours.

There is less motion in the middle of the vehicle near its center of gravity. Those wishing to experience the widest range of motion will find it in the back row, especially on the ends. Cast Members will usually accommodate seating requests if possible.

There is a net bag under the seat and all loose items must be secured during the flight.

Guests using wheelchairs or ECVs must transfer out to ride this attraction. Ask a cast member at the entrance for boarding instructions.

Guest-activated captioning is available at this attraction.

The nearest restrooms are located between Star Tours and the Plaza Inn.

KIDS AND CHARACTERS

This attraction is quite popular with most kids who have seen the Star Wars movies. But others may find it scary, and those who are prone to motion sickness probably should not ride.

The Jedi Training Academy offers prospective Padawans the opportunity to train to be Jedi Knights. Training sessions are held several times a day at the Tomorrowland Terrace – check your daily Times Guide for times.

The Plaza Inn is located just outside Tomorrowland, and serves a Character breakfast. Lunch and dinner offerings include fried chicken, meatloaf, pasta, fish, salad, and desserts.

Tomorrowland Terrace offers burgers and sandwiches for lunch and dinner, and also serves a quick-service breakfast.

Redd Rockett’s Pizza Port – offering pizza, pasta, and salads, is on the far end of Tomorrowland next to Space Mountain.

The Star Trader gift shop located at the exit of Star Tours offers a variety of merchandise based on all of the Star Wars movies, including build-your-own lightsaber, t-shirts, action figures, Lego kits, books, and posters.

Star Tours opened on January 9, 1987. Star Tours – The Adventures Continue opened on June 3, 2011.

The flight simulator used in the StarSpeeder 1000 is the same used by the military to train pilots.

There are a total of 54 different combinations of the film elements. Two different opening scenes (Darth Vader or Skytroopers), three different second scenes (Hoth, Kashyyk or Tatooine), three different character interactions (Admiral Ackbar, Princess Leia, or Yoda), and three different finales (Death Star/Rebel Flagship, Coruscant, or Naboo). Other Star Wars characters that might appear are Boba Fett, Sebulba, Chewbacca, and Jar Jar Binks.

Many of the actors in the Rebel Flagship scene are Lucasfilm employees or Disney Imagineers.

Anthony Daniels reprises his role as the voice of protocol droid C-3PO. Actress Allison Janney provides the voice of spaceport spokesbot Aly San San.

Star Wars fans may recognize the line “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.” This line has been used in all of the Star Wars films by various characters as part of a running gag. It is part of some (but not all) of the 54 different sequences.

The flight status displays in the queue alternate between the English and Aurebesh languages.

Star Tours is located in the building occupied by the former Adventure Through Innerspace attraction.

Star Tours Takes Flight

On January 9, 1987, George Lucas and Walt Disney Imagineering brought the Star Wars galaxy to life at Disneyland Park .

The original Star Tours attraction blasted off to Endor. In the years since, the experience has been updated with new worlds and iconic characters from Star Wars: The Force Awakens , Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker .

Hi all, I'm leaving for Disney World in Orlando on Thursday and naturally Star Tours will be our first stop. From what I understand, there is a gift shop attached to it or something of the sort. For anyone who's been there, do they sell the current Hasbro collections? For example, will I have a shot at finding Darth Plagueis or any of the figures Hasbro has recently released?

Also, if you go Friday-Sat-Sunday at Hollywood Studios you'll also be able to go to Darth's Mall which will have Star Wars Weekend Merchandise!

The Build a Droid is the best part of the experience for uniqueness. The t-shirts are pretty nice bit a bit pricy. Still pretty cool to be in a Star Wars gift shop.  

I spent way too much this last weekend. They just have SO much stuff. Cool story. I bought the limited Mickey/Donald SWW figure set. It got crushed while being delivered to the resort. I went back Sunday for another and they were sold out. The girl could tell I was upset so she went to check the back. Two other employees told her there were absolutely no more. She found one somewhere and gave it to me. Yes, gave it to me, at no charge. So I have one to open and one to keep. The BAD station is awesome. I could have spent half a day there.  

Disney customer service is still the gold standard. Great story.

Best customer service EVER! My son ripped his shorts climbing onto the Speeder Bike for a pic. We bought a pair at one of the shops. When I told an employee at another shop what happened, she wrote me out a replacement item ticket and told me to go get a refund. Which they gladly did. Just an amazing place. I wanted to live there.

I went just toward the end of June and only saw greedo, Han and Leia's galore in the 6 inch. Nothing special in the 3 3/4 inch. That's at the star tours ride.

I've been very lucky with finding Black Series Fett's there. Very, very lucky. As far as 3 1/4 you will find Mara Jade's and Plagueis' there currently.
