Common School Tour Questions
Whether you’re touring Fusion Academy or another school, here are some questions you should be asking to see if the school is the right fit for your family. We’ve provided answers here on a general level:
Why do teachers like working here?
Teachers enjoy the positive impact they can make on a student in the one-to-one environment. Many teachers come to us after teaching in large classrooms and having to teach to the middle. At Fusion, they can directly see the lives they change.
What kind of updates will I get about my child’s progress?
Parents/Guardians get updates from each class session their student has. These daily updates include material that was covered and anything else that came up the teacher thinks the parent should be aware of.
How do you prepare students for life after high school?
With classes being one-to-one, students gain confidence and learn how to interact with their teachers. Fusion students learn to be self-advocates and are more likely to ask questions in classes or attend office hours with their professors.
Beyond our core curriculum, we offer wellness and life skills (which are required for full-time students) which also prepare students for life after high school. These classes are personalized and cover topics to help students thrive in the “real world.”
Do students get off-campus privileges?
High school students are able to go off-campus for lunch or breaks if their parent/guardian approves. Many students will get lunch and bring it back to campus to eat and hang out in the Homework Café.
What is the culture like on campus?
We create a safe space for students and teachers to be themselves. Our Fusion culture is fun, inclusive, and welcoming.
What kinds of events do you have?
Our Director of Homework Café owns the social programming and aligns it with our Schoolwide Learner Outcomes and Social Emotional Learning competencies. Students are able to form clubs and groups based on their interests. Also, we have field trips and events like Prom and graduation.
For parents and the community, we offer open houses and educational events. Connect with your nearest campus to learn more.
What is your bullying policy?
We have a no bullying policy. Our campuses are smaller than a traditional school, and social interaction happens in our Homework Café spaces which are overseen by our Director of Homework Café.

Are you a small business owner, realtor, or involved in a special 3D tour project? If so, you'll be thrilled to discover the incredible world of virtual tours for private schools. In this blog post, we'll explore how virtual tours can revolutionize the way we experience educational spaces. Let's dive in and uncover the exciting possibilities of virtual reality!
Immerse Yourself in the Virtual School Experience
Virtual tours for private schools offer a unique opportunity to explore educational spaces in a whole new way. Imagine being able to step inside a classroom, walk through the hallways, and explore the campus - all from the comfort of your own home or office. With virtual reality technology, you can immerse yourself in the virtual school experience and get a true sense of the environment.
Virtual tours provide a 360-degree view of the school, allowing you to navigate through each area and even zoom in for a closer look. You can explore classrooms, libraries, laboratories, sports facilities, and more. This level of detail and interactivity brings the school to life, giving you a realistic and engaging experience.
The Benefits of Virtual Tours for Private Schools
Virtual tours offer numerous benefits for private schools, students, and parents alike. For schools, virtual tours provide a powerful marketing tool to showcase their facilities and attract prospective students. It allows schools to highlight their unique features, such as state of the art classrooms, advanced laboratories, and beautiful campuses.
For students, virtual tours provide an opportunity to get a feel for their potential learning environment. They can explore classrooms, check out the library, and see where they might spend their time. This familiarity can reduce anxiety for students transitioning to a new school.
Parents benefit from virtual tours by gaining a better understanding of the school's offerings. They can explore various facilities and ensure they make informed decisions when choosing a school for their child.
Additional benefits of virtual tours for private schools include :
1. Accessibility: Virtual tours make it possible for anyone to explore a school's facilities without the need for physical visits. This is especially valuable for international or out-of-state students and their families.
2. Transparency: Transparency builds trust. Virtual tours provide a transparent view of the school's environment, which is vital for prospective students and parents.
3. Time and Cost Savings: Physical visits to multiple schools can be time-consuming and expensive, especially for families considering schools in different locations. Virtual tours save time and money by enabling people to explore numerous schools online.

1. Capture High-Quality Images: To begin, you'll need high-quality images of the school's premises. Utilize a 360-degree camera or a smartphone with a 360-degree camera feature to capture images of various spaces within the school.

5. Customize and Brand: Customize the virtual tour to match your school's branding. Incorporate your school's logo, colors, and other branding elements.
6. Publish and Share: Once your virtual tour is ready, publish it on the platform. You'll receive a shareable link or an embed code to make the tour accessible to your target audience.

Brimming with enticing novels, as well as vital reference books, the school library is open to pupils throughout the day for study, board gaming and as a place for a little peace and quiet. With a revolving stock of titles, and competitions to inspire and motivate that all-important love of reading, our passionate library staff are ever on hand to advise.
Also in the library is our expert careers advisor who supports pupils by discussing next steps, offering a wealth of knowledge about work experience opportunities and university pathways.
Photo Gallery
Dining Room
From the summer Jazz Club to Little Shop of Horrors, the main hall hosts the school’s most dazzling productions and pupils are all encouraged to participate, whether that’s behind the scenes or under the spotlights.
Throughout the year, the room is also used for senior school assemblies as well as much-loved events such as the house dance competition.
Here, you will also find the dining room. With three options available each day, plus a salad bar, pupils are encouraged to make healthy choices and eat family style with members of staff.
As well as a setting for school events, such as the charming Form One La Nativite, the chapel is a place for quiet reflection, contemplation, and is also used as a venue for music performances.
Science Centre
Housing biology, chemistry, physics, computer science and electronics, a love for science is sparked here. With expert teaching staff and opportunities for exploration, pupils are encouraged to forge a lifelong love for science.
Sports Centre and Swimming Pool
With a series of facilities, including an indoor 25m pool, squash courts, dance studio, gym, spinning gallery, shooting range and sports hall, this modern facility ensures pupils can perform to the highest level all year round.
Light and airy, the art studio provides the perfect setting for our talented pupils to explore their creativity and share their passions through art. With a separate gallery for events, pupils are invited to welcome friends and family to enjoy their creations at private view events.
Sports Grounds
Pupils have the opportunity to play in all weathers on our state-of-the-art facilities and the school fields teams in all major sports to a national level.
Music School
Music is a huge part of life at Exeter School, and over 500 private music lessons are held every week. With a vast array of orchestras, choirs and ensembles on offer, there really is something for everyone to become involved with.
Junior School
With a dedicated STEAM lab, library, computer suite and airy, spacious classrooms, the junior school is a happy, nurturing setting where pupils explore and thrive. On top of this, pupils also benefit from the senior school facilities, such as the swimming pool, sports facilities, drama studio and music department, blending the comfort of a separate junior school, with the amenities of a senior school.
Junior School Playground
Pupils adore spending their time on the purpose-built adventure playground that was added in 2021. A priority for the junior school community was a secure and safe playground with zoned play for different age groups as well as open play areas. Balancing, hanging, traversing and climbing are all encouraged on the new equipment which includes adventure trail equipment such as climbing trees, flower stepping pods, balance beams, and wobble boards.
Bursary and medical centre
The bursary is located and accessed from Victoria Park Road and provides many of the non-academic facilities of the school. The office is open from 8am to 5pm during term time and 9am to 4.30pm during the holidays. Services provided include:
- Medical room
- Daily lunch passes
- General enquiries by telephone and in person
- Lost property
- Second hand uniform
The bursary is also where parents should leave items to pass to their children, e.g. forgotten lunches, books or sports kit.
Drama studio
Drama has a leading role to play in the overall growth and development of pupils. It encourages them to reflect on their own thoughts, feelings, and attitudes, and those of others around them. Exeter School has an excellent, fully equipped black box theatre, seating 150, which is supported by a substantial costume department.
Townsend Building, design technology
The department has an enviable range of both traditional and up-to-date technology, from lathes and mills to 3D printers and laser cutters. Equipment is situated across two workshops supported by a computer suite and a computer-aided manufacture room featuring 3D printers, a laser cutter and CNC mill. Pupils combine traditional skills with laser cutting and 3D printing with impressive results. Products range from lamps and wall-mounted storage to an automated cat feeder and a radio-controlled hydro foiling model yacht.
Main reception and admissions
The main reception to the school is signposted from the gate at Manston Terrace. When the gates are closed, please use the intercom to gain entry. All visitors should report to the main reception to sign in. This reception is open from 8.15am to 4.45pm during term time.
Visitor parking
Visitor parking is available by the reception building. All visitors should sign in at the main reception, including your car registration number.
The Exonian Centre
The Alumni and Development team is based in the Exonian Centre. They are on hand throughout the year to show alumni around the school by prior arrangement.
The archive of records and artefacts relating to the school’s history is also housed in the Exonian Centre.
The archive includes copies of the school magazine, The Exonian, since its first publication in the nineteenth century, an extensive photo collection and many other fascinating artefacts. Alumni are always welcome to come and peruse the collection and, with warning, the alumni team try and ensure that items of particular interest are available to view.
Head’s Reception
Pupils who need to deliver letters, messages, or work to members of staff should report to the Head’s reception which is in School House Tower and is entered through the large door below the blue clock. This is also where pupils should register when arriving late or if they are leaving for an appointment.
Sixth Form Centre
The sixth form have their own purpose-built centre, which includes a spacious common room, study and seminar rooms, a pool room, and a small kitchen. This provides their own dedicated space on the school campus, slightly set apart from other year groups and academic departments, while nevertheless allowing them to still feel part of the school community.
Click here to register for our summer open evening on Thursday 9 May 5.30-8pm.
See the amazing community that makes our school a school of great character. For more information on school places, please email [email protected].
