Pink at University of Bolton Stadium — stage times, setlist and more

Pink returns to the UK after four years and Manchester for the first time in a decade.

Danny Jones

Pop legend Pink is in Manchester as we speak ahead of her massive gigs at the University of Bolton Stadium this week, set to play not one but two shows at the Wanderers’ home ground.

Having been around since 1995 if you can believe that, the legendary Noughties singer recently released her ninth studio album, Trustfall , back in February and is now set to embark on a huge world tour entitled ‘ Summer Carnival ‘.

The UK leg, her first since 2019, consists of six big shows across Britain, but Manchester has the honour of not only hosting Pink for the first time in 10 years but being the one to kick off her world tour, which already consists of over 70 dates, nine different countries and runs all the way into 2024.

It might surprise a few to see that Pink’s playing at a football stadium in Bolton to get things started, but she’s played there multiple times before and while she might not have heard about the recent name change , it’s somewhere she’s more than familiar with. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Tickets for Pink’s Manchester gig

It’ll be no surprise to hear that tickets to see one of the biggest pop artists of the past 20+ years aren’t exactly abundant but, fear not, if you’re a big Pink fan there are still some available for both nights.

The bad news is, given they’re in such high demand and the gigs are literally around the corner, they’ll cost you a fair few quid, to say the least.

The cheapest seats remaining on Wednesday, 7 June will set you back £135 per person; as for the following Thursday, 8 June, not only are there still some seats available at the same price but there are even a handful of Gold Standing Tickets in The Circle that will cost you £162.

Even the VIP packages for these gigs are all sold out as there are literally hundreds of people set to raise their glass to the pop sensation’s return.

Pink support acts at Bolton Stadium

As if seeing Pink wasn’t enough, the Pennsylvania songstress will be accompanied by three different support across her double-header at the UniBol Stadium.

For those of you who do manage to get a ticket, she will be joined by fellow American singer-songwriter Gayle , rising DJ and producer KidCutUp who played her last tour, as well as fellow pop hit-makers, The Script.

Talk about a warm-up act — seeing The Script is a pricey ticket on its own, let alone a trio of exciting artists and then Pink!

Their appearances on Pink’s impending tour are also among the first the Irish group will play following the passing of their guitarist and co-founder Mark Sheehan back in April, having got back on stage in Blackpool earlier this week. It’ll no doubt be just as emotional an occasion for them on Wednesday.

Predicted setlist

Now, as for what Pink will be playing on her opening night in Bolton , we don’t really have any other gigs this year to go off, however, you can bet you’ll be hearing plenty of the new album as well as plenty of the classics from down the years.

We’re not going to lie, this setlist is adjusted from her last big show at Austin City Limits back in October 2022 and based on the stuff she’s played most this year according to Setlist.fm , so there’s a fair bit of guesswork here but here’s an idea of what you might get to hear:

  • Get The Party Started
  • What About Us
  • When I Get There
  • F**kin’ Perfect
  • Just Give Me a Reason
  • Never Gonna Not Dance Again
  • Please Don’t Leave Me
  • Just Like a Pill
  • Me and Bobby McGee (Kris Kristofferson)
  • Nothing Compares 2 U (Prince cover)
  • Raise Your Glass
  • So What (encore)

So long as we hear ‘Get The Party Started’ we’ll be happy, to be honest — top-tier banger.

Stage times

As for set times, the University of Bolton Stadium’s doors are set to open at 4.30pm, with the first of the warm-ups, KidCutUp , beginning an hour later — one of three occasions he’ll be keeping the crowd entertained over the course of the evening.

Then at 6.45pm Gayle will play a roughly half-an-hour set before KidCutUp returns for the interval. As for the big support, The Script will be taking to the stage for an hour from 7:30-8:30pm.

Making a final appearance for 20 minutes as the main event, KidCutUp will once again get the crowd ready and raring to go before Pink arrives at around 8:50pm, will the show set to end no later than 11pm.

With such an early start time and so much music to enjoy on Wednesday and Thursday, it’s going to be a brilliant couple of nights in Bolton.

Travel and parking

As for how you’re going to get to Pink’s Bolton gigs, one of the best parts about Greater Manchester is our brilliant public transport networks mean you can always get around.

With a shuttle bus running from Bolton Interchange, Chorley Railway Station and Wigan Robin Park to the stadium on both nights between 2-8pm, Big Green Coaches available from various locations, as well as Horwich Parkway as your nearest train station, there are several options for travelling to the gig.

As for if you’re driving in, there are plenty of places to drop gig-goers around the stadium and if you’re looking for parking, there are around 1800 spaces available at the stadium per night.

Parking spots, including 120 blue badge disability spaces, will be first-come-first-serve and bookable via the Evology app for £25. You can find out more information about pricing and how to book, as well as plenty of other travel information down below.

Pink was one of the first big musical artists to ever play at Bolton Wanderer’s home stadium and helped usher the likes of The Killers, Little Mix, Coldplay, Elton John and more to join her.

With that in mind, it’s only fitting that she’s returned to the venue that she’s remained so fond of, declaring, “ Manchester, I am so in love with you ” after arriving in Manchester at the start of this week.

Writing in a statement on the University Bolton Stadium Hotel website, Pink said : “It’s been a long three years and I’ve missed live music so so much… So it’s finally time! I am so excited to get back to the UK and Europe to sing, cry, sweat and make new memories with my friends. It’s going to be magical!”

The mum of two even took her daughter Willow out in Trafford Park to celebrate her 12th birthday. Even hearing her name next to random Manc boroughs still sounds a bit surreal but we’re absolutely here for it — roll on Wednesday night!

Not the first place I'd expect to see Pink. 🤣 https://t.co/JZCEqiCFOh — The Manc (@TheMancUK) June 6, 2023

Sod your 18-30 holidays – we’re all about the new 30+ club night that’s taking the UK by storm, and returns to Manchester in July.

Day Fever will be bringing its hugely popular daytime disco back to New Century on 6 July for a big old knees-up (even if your knees are a bit creaky).

The events usually sell out way in advance, but at the time of writing there are still a handful of tickets available for this next event.

There’s overwhelming demand for Day Fever events here in Manchester, the city where our over-30s were the ones at the forefront the Hacienda heyday – aka, people who know how to party.

Created by Line of Duty and This Is England star Vicky McClure, Day Fever comes with a strict age limit and promises to have you in bed by your normal time.

It’s also co-founded by Reverend and the Makers frontman Jon McClure (no relation), who you’ll often spot behind the DJ decks.

It’s described as ‘the daytime disco that doesn’t ruin your Sunday.’

View this post on Instagram A post shared by DayFever (@dayfeveruk)

Unlike most club nights, where you’re not even walking in until 10pm and bracing yourself to throw your usual sleep routine out the window, this one kicks off at 3pm. How civilised!

It also wraps up by 8pm, so you have a plethora of post-clubbing meals on your doorstep instead of being lumped with a late-night kebab.

Since its launch, Day Fever has been selling out in cities across the UK, including here in Manchester over the past weekend.

There are nostalgic TV shows, films and adverts shown on a big screen during the events.

Tickets for Day Fever’s Manchester event on 6 July are on sale now priced at £12.06 – you can get yours through Dice .

The legendary Leroy Lurve will be bursting back onto the pitch to get the crowd pumped up for performances from the 80s, 90s and 2000s, and will be introducing the likes of Liberty X, Sweet Female Attitude, and Baby D, as well as the much-anticipated return of Haircut One Hundred, who’ll be performing for the first time in over 40 years, after their UK arena tour sold out in under 20 minutes.

Festivalgoers can take a breather from the music and make the most of the multiple on-site bars and street food traders across the venue – with something to satisfy every craving on offer.

Plus, for those looking to add an extra touch of luxury to their day, there are two indulgent VIP packages available this year that come complete with fast-track entry and indulgent extras to give you the ultimate premium festival experience.

Speaking ahead of the festival’s return next month, Simon Taylor from Strawberry Radio, who is one of the organisers of Hits On The Pitch, commented: “It’s time to dust off your neon leg warmers, flannel shirts, and low-rise jeans because Hits On The Pitch is back for another throwback summer party to transport all back to the good old glory days.

“We have an epic musical lineup of guilty pleased and forgotten treasures spanning across three unforgettable decades.”

Pink's Summer Carnival stadium tour launches Wednesday night in Bolton, England, and she took to Instagram to share some photos and video of her preparations.

Along with the behind-the-scenes look into her tour prep, she also shared a lengthy note acknowledging what a huge task it is to mount a tour of this size, which she called "a fantasy feat of a lifetime."

"63 stadiums, 3 headlining festivals and 22 more arenas for good measure across the globe," Pink wrote in the caption of her post.

Pink ’s daughter Willow Sage Hart made fans go wild when she joined her mother on stage for the opening night of the singer’s tour .

The sweet mother-daughter moment occurred on 7 June at the University of Bolton Stadium in Bolton, England, during the first night of Pink’s Summer Carnival 2023 tour. Willow’s father and Pink’s husband, Carey Hart, shared footage of their daughter’s solo to Instagram .

In the clip, the 12-year-old commanded the stage as she sang their 2021 duet “Cover Me in Sunshine” alongside her mother. Willow could be seen wearing a pink and red striped sleeveless dress while belting into the microphone – clearly inheriting her mother’s singing skills.

On Instagram, Carey Hart praised his and Pink’s daughter for the brave solo. “So proud of Willz to get up on stage w/ mama @pink!!!!!” he captioned the post. “Must be a surreal moment for mama to have w/ her lil girl on stage.”

The video also showed a packed stadium cheering for Willow after she finished her solo. She then waved to the audience before giving her mother a big hug. Meanwhile, a teary-eyed Pink could be seen getting emotional from her daughter’s performance.

Duchess of York moved to tears by Princess Eugenie’s baby name tribute

In the comments, both friends and fans of Pink applauded Willow for her performance.

“I’m so overwhelmed with love and pride for this gorgeous Willow and her beautiful superstar parents. Well done,” wrote actor Selma Blair. “And what an incredible night it looks and sounds…” she said, along with a string of sparkle emojis.

“I was there and it was awesome. Mama Pink was emotional,” shared someone else.

Another user commented: “My phone is emitting onion scents and now my eyes are watery.”

Others were stunned by the 12-year-old’s powerful singing voice. One user said, “Wow she’s amazing,” while another wrote: “You can just see how proud she is!! She nailed it too!”

“I got the chills,” a third user commented.

Earlier this year, Pink revealed that her daughter Willow will be working a minimum-wage job while she tours with her mother this summer. Pink and Hart’s six-year-old son, Jameson, will also be going on tour with her for the “Try” singer’s ninth studio album, Trustfall .

“Willow has a job on tour,” the 43-year-old singer told Today in February. “We just had to go over minimum wage and it’s different state to state.”

However, Pink shared that her daughter had not yet grasped the concept of negotiating salaries. “I said it’s about $22.50 a show depending how long I go, if I run over,” she explained. “She goes, ‘I’ll take $20. It’s easier to do the math.’ I’m like, ‘That’s not how you negotiate for yourself.’ I’m like, ‘You’ll take $25 so it’s easier math.’”

The 2023 Summer Carnival Tour kicked off in the UK on 7 June. The “Raise Your Glass” singer is set to tour throughout Europe and the United States before finishing on 19 March 2024 in Brisbane, Australia.

Music fans complained of 'total and utter chaos' following Pink's huge gig in Bolton last night. The star kicked off the European leg of her Summer Carnival 2023 tour at the University of Bolton Stadium on Wednesday.

But more than two hours after the show ended hundreds of cars were still stuck in the car park. With limited train services running from the nearby Horwich Park station, many fans had driven to the concert.

Transport for Greater Manchester had earlier advised gig-goers to use shuttle buses which had been laid on to Bolton, Wigan and Chorley. But one fan tweeted a video of the dozens of cars still queuing the leave the car park at 1.26am.

Fans struggling to get home also voiced their frustration on the Manchester Evening News Facebook page. Diane Wood wrote: "Pink was absolutely amazing but police have had to be called to try and clear the car park.

"We along with hundreds of other people are still stuck on the car park 2hrs after the end of the concert I would never attend another one here total and utter chaos."

Andrea Kirkham wrote: "Two and a half hours to get out of a car park when we were right next to an exit barrier but they wouldn’t let us out! Never been to such a place and will never go there again! Shocking!"

Amy Derbyshire posted: "Pink was incredible but I got in my car at 11.15pm and just got home at 2.10am and I live a 20 minute drive away. Roads closed everywhere, temporary traffic lights on the roads that were open and we ended up near the police station to be told by them that they can’t do anything to help because they aren’t involved in the parking!"

Sarah Jayne Clarke wrote: "Amazing concert, she's incredible. The traffic leaving the concert is the worst I've ever saw at a gig. 2hrs to move 100 yards."

Joanne Baldwin said: "Ace concert … she is unbelievable However dreadful car park organisation … 2 hrs 14 mins …. Just moving."

And another woman told the M.E.N.: "For anyone going to pink tomorrow; Be prepared for two hour waits on stand still traffic to leave the venue.

"We paid £25 to park in the accessibility parking with the premis we would be able to leave in a timely manner? We understand there would be some delay but it’s gone 12:30 pm and we haven’t moved. An absolute shambles and zero organisation."

A spokesperson for University of Bolton Stadium said: "Following an incredible opening night of Pink's sensational Summer Carnival Tour 2023, at which we welcomed over 35,000 people to the University of Bolton Stadium, we are aware that some concert-goers experienced traffic and congestion issues when departing the site.

"Working closely with the relevant authorities, we are reviewing the traffic management plan in place ahead of this evening's show, with a view to mitigating these issues and improving the experience for all those visiting the stadium for tonight's second concert."
