With expanding commercial air service from the continental states, Alaska is more accessible than ever. Anchorage is Alaska's main transportation hub and offers the greatest selection of flights both within Alaska and across lower 48 destinations. Because of this, most Alaska vacation packages start in Anchorage. It is also the primary airport serving Alaska cruise passengers either beginning or ending their trips in Seward or Whittier .

The primary airlines flying to Anchorage are Alaska Airlines, Delta, United, American, and Sun Country (summer only). International airlines include Air Canada, Condor, and Icelandair. Direct flights are available from Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Chicago, and Minneapolis. Some of these direct connections may be operated only during the summer. There are no direct flights to Alaska from the east coast.

Although flights into Anchorage are more frequent and typically more affordable, both Fairbanks and Juneau have international airports. There are daily flights into Fairbanks, but not nearly as many compared to Anchorage. Most airlines that fly into Anchorage fly into Fairbanks during the summer. There are nonstop flights from Seattle to Fairbanks, but most flights to Fairbanks include at least one layover.

If your travel plans include Southeast Alaska and you're not on a cruise, you will probably fly into Juneau. The airport in Juneau does not see as many commercial flights as Anchorage or Fairbanks. Of the major airlines, only Alaska Airlines, Delta, and American fly into Juneau. The only nonstop flights come from Seattle.

Since so many Alaska communities are not connected to the road system, small regional air carriers serve an important role in Alaska transportation. These include Raven, Alaska Seaplanes, and Penn Air.

While Alaska Tour & Travel does not make airline reservations, we can help you plan and book cruises and all transportation , accommodations , and activities while you're in Alaska.

Flights to Alaska

The wilderness of Alaska invites visitors to explore ice-capped mountains, rushing rivers, arctic tundras, glaciers, bears and more. Depending on which region of Alaska you're visiting, Delta offers plenty of choices for travelers. Anchorage (ANC) is Alaska's largest city, providing access to the Southcentral Region. Fairbanks (FAI) is the second-largest, providing access to Alaska's Interior Region, including Denali National Park.

Visiting a remote area of Alaska? Book your entire itinerary through delta.com and we will seamlessly connect you to your destination through Anchorage.

A popular destination for nature-viewing, you can sail the Pacific on a wildlife cruise to get up close and personal with whales and seals or stay on land and spot wild moose, hundreds of bird species or black, brown and grizzly bears. Conservation and learning centers throughout the state are a good way to experience wildlife from a close yet safe distance.

Fishing is also a pastime of many residents and visitors, so grab your rod and reel, then cook what you catch for an ocean-to-plate taste of Alaska. Understanding the importance that fishing plays here, we are excited to partner with the nonprofit, Kenai River Sportfishing Association and their commitment to preserving the Kenai River and sustainable fisheries. With such proximity to the Pacific Ocean, fresh seafood is the inspiration for many restaurants around the city. You know you will have some of the freshest seafood you’ve ever tasted when the salmon, oysters and crab are caught daily.

The scenery around Alaska can't be topped, either. Day trips along the  Seward or Glenn Highways make the massive state feel intimate, but if you'd rather stretch your legs while taking in the sights, the  Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is for you. Starting in downtown Anchorage, this trail winds its way through 11 miles of stunning Alaskan landscape.

13 Alaska Airlines Hubs & Cities Offering Nonstop Flights to Alaska

Alaska Airlines uses Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage Alaska as it's hubs primarily for travelers flying to/from Alaska

When you think of the United States, you probably first consider continental states like New York and California. You think about the great travel destinations and cities like Las Vegas or Chicago. But you can make the mistake of forgetting that a great travel destination especially for wilderness lovers is Alaska.

Alaska is the largest state in the union, however, it’s one of the least populated states in the United States. It is also one of the least traveled states for tourists.

With that said, there is no question why the Alaskan traveler market is underserved by American air carriers. Simply, airlines can’t guarantee serving Alaska routinely because the demand wouldn’t be as high as a destination like New York City or Las Vegas.

The two largest airports in Alaska are Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and Fairbanks International Airport. Between both of these airports, only Delta Airlines and United Airlines provided year-round nonstop service to these airports. However, there is a third airline that flies year-round to Alaska.

Alaska Airlines is the West Coast’s most prominent airline providing service to most destinations found in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. They are a great travel option for visitors willing to find a nonstop flight to Alaska from just about every corner of the United States.

In this guide, we analyze the four Alaska Airlines hubs offering nonstop flights to Alaska as well as some of the other focus cities providing year-round flights to Alaska.

Where is Alaska Airlines located in the Los Angeles International Airport?

Alaska Airlines can be found at Terminal 6 at Los Angeles International Airport. The LAX terminals are set up in a giant loop so once you enter that loop you can begin to count them off. Top 5 airlines serving from San Francisco to Alaska

The night flight was only 2/3 full, which is always a plus. Room to stretch out for sleeping. Gracious stewardesses, attentive, and slim/attractive (which is rare these days). Good food, and curtesy wine.with meals. Comfortable seats and decent leg room (economy class)

Plane is new and I was upgraded to first class so all was great.

Only one Hindi movie from LAvto Taipei and same movie from Taipei to Singapore Really horrible and we call it entertainment???

Food was ok. Could have been better. Entertainment was limited, especially for kids.

The flight from Taipei to LAX was the first time we encountered rudeness from the crew. From the gate agents to the in flight crew. We had received such wonderful service going to Bali and on our Bali to Taipei flight that it shocked us when the gate agent was rude and then the rudeness continued on the flight to LAX.

Overall great experience. All four members of my family were seated together without paying extra to reserve seats. Everything was on time. Food was great and healthy. Media entertainment was good. Rock music could be added as a listening choice. No issue with baggages. Flight attendants were friendly and helpful. I would recommend EVA to friends and family.

I was expecting that movie selection and food would have been better. Everything else was great.

The type of the food requested (Asian vegetarian) was not properly met with. They have very limited snack items that may compensate for the main meals.

The quality of the food is pretty good. Thank you, EVA Air.

Fast and efficient boarding. Flight was on time. Service was very good for our long flight. First time flying with this airline and I would highly recommend.

Airline itself is great. While food was being taken off of my tray my beer spilled which was a total accident and I wasn’t upset about that, what was frustrating was I had to ask for towels to clean up and wipe my leg. It would have been left as is if I hadn’t.

Bars and restaurants in Taipei close early. The lounge isn’t very good, but better than the public areas.

Unable to set seat assignment. Got a call from presumably “China airlines representative” but was asking for an exorbitant amount for the seat assignment. Was traveling as a family end up being assigned to different seats as a result. Will never use underpricer again.

Not many selections for entertainment. Bulk head seats are no longer available with out fee at the counter. That’s pretty lame.

All of the staff were very helpful, polite I was very satisfied with China Airlines The food was normal for airlines but I’m sure they could do better

Everything was efficient. Good leg room. Food was good. Staff were friendly.

I would have liked to know how to order a special meal (for medical purposes) before the flight.

The flight who provided services on my row had some not-nice attitude and not smiling at all.

Comfort was left wanting due to such a long flight, made the wife and I wish we could upgrade the seats to Business class or First Class, but did not have that option. Food was good but had very limited options and I have a dietary restriction which was difficult for the staff to accommodate since everything provided came with cheese on it. (Cheese could potentially kill me) Did not have an option to inform the staff until we were already in the air about the restriction and was not provided another option before flight departed.

The plane was uncomfortable. I paid extra for more legroom but the seat was still uncomfortable. Other seats on the same exact row didn’t have to pay extra but still have extra legroom. I didn’t understand why I needed to pay $170 for. It was Iike China airline just wants to make money off their passengers. It was unfair.

Excellent- a lot of food Disappointed with the premium economy pouch- did not have toothbrush and tooth paste or socks. Other airlines provide them

My daughter and I had a pleasant trip to Singapore. Reliable and on time.

A 16 hour flight from Singapore to Los Angeles had only 2 meals. Please make it 3 meals.

Overall good experience, convenient Changi Airport, even the layover was long.

Singapore Airlines from Mumbai was late, we were rerouted to Copenhagen and then to Los Angeles. As senior citizens, we should have been given a hotel voucher for a night and fly out the next day. I hope Singapore Airlines should give us a credit in good faith if they want us to fly with them. I doubt it, but you never know.

I had to change a flight date and it cost me $800.00 dollars. In the past, if there was room on the flight(which there was), Singapore Airlines simply re-booked me. This might have occurred because the office in Bali where I could interface with a human face to face is now closed since COVID. I naively figured the ability to change my flight into my decision to go with Singapore Airlines as it does cost a bit more. I will still fly on them as they are superior to the other carriers by a fairly large margin, especially for my needs.

I was traveling with my 3 minor children, one leg I was seated two aisles behind them. On the longest leg I would have preferred sitting across the aisle from them, not behind. My youngest is 4yos. I understand airplane seating configurations are not the airlines problem but seating the one adult with a reservation apart from the minors was very difficult.

Awesome! Was impressed with the hospitality and the thoughtful services. The cabin attendants were superb.

Leg room and flight sound insulation is very bad. They broke 3 of my bags with bad handling

Crews were great but food not much selection just all tailored for Asian passengers.

Not good. Small seats. Not enough food that customers wanted. No special requests were given that i could see. Slow response from flight attendants

For a transpacific flight, flying economy is awful! The seats are cramped and its meant for petite folks! Good luck if you have long legs. BOARDING - AWFUL, we got to Hong Kong - the gate was listed, but upon arrival, there was a MESS of boarding procedures, they basically DIY'ed how to board but making three lines and putting three ground crew to check for passports in the terminal area. THEN to make it worse, after going through that cattle process, all of a sudden you see people standing and looking confused, apparently we were told to get in line to board, but the AV notification wasnt even working. So people started cramming in line - worse than cattle. One saving point, the flight crew forgot to serve me dinner and after waiting for it, I fell asleep since this was a midnight flight. After letting a crew know that I was forgotten, all of my meals were served first !!! Yay for being in the economy seats! Nothing much to write home about once more!

Bathroom was not cleaned as often as other airlines does. It was gross for a less than full flight capacity.

Rarely saw a flight attendant. Never received what I wanted from drink service. Twice I was told they would return with my order. I never saw the flight attendant again. I has requested a Moslem meal. I did not receive. It

From BOS to HK, the crew had pushed me to choose the pasta for meal multiple times. It was a bad experience. Without this, everything was good.

The crew is amazing, very attentive. They went above and beyond when we had a small spill. the food on this trip was not nearly as good as other Cathay flights. The economy seats are very comfortable, but when the person in front of yo reclines, you need to recline to see your screen or be comfortable.

From Chicago to Hong Kong was great., but from Hong Kong to manila we had hard time looking for the gate of our connecting flight. There wasn’t hardly any sign.

Cathay Pacific helps me with the planning due to weather delays. Well planed flights.

Flight crew went above and beyond to make sure the flight was enjoyable for us!

Both my husband and I ordered the fish for dinner and we both got sick and throwing up on the plane. I don’t think the seafood was handled properly and I for sure will not order fish the next time around.

Flight was quite late as there was no pilot Crew is usually excellent, this flight not as good as usual there were more mistakes, slower and less friendly service But honestly the aircraft was too cramped and uncomfortable for a 4 hour flying get so, do to the aircraft liability the very best you could ever do is mediocre.

Absolute disaster. Rude, uncooperative staff. Staff ignores and pretends you don’t exist when you are asking them a question. Erroneous departure gate and baggage claim information. Equipment not working for purchase of drinks. Overly expensive baggage check-in fees. Overly crowded. Dirty airplane. Passengers coughing incessantly as if they were being gassed. Circled airport in flight several times and waited on the tarmac for 1.5 hours. The worst experience ever. Consider another industry. The travel industry is not for you.

The pairing of personal Bluetooth headset did not work, provided headset did not work, then the screen locked and therefore no in-flight entertainment was available.

Our flight was delayed several times. It left 9 hours after scheduling. We had to sleep in the airport.

This flight was 2.5 hours delayed due to crew issues. This meant that we arrived after 2 AM. Very very inconvenient and we were not really kept well informed.

United is today and old, the planes, the staff, the business processes. Yet they expect premium prices for a less than average flight experience. I should have remembered to stay away from them and will remember to stay away from them in the future since I'm traveling a lot again. In a nutshell, they suck eggs.

The entertainment wasn’t playing in the app or online.

Horrible, the flights kept delaying, so it is obvious that we won't be able to make it to the next connection. No easier/real agent on site to help you figure this out. UA agent on other counters refuse to assist you and direct us to use the QR code/call customer service. So inefficient and poor. While technology seems convenient, but it's not the best interest/experience for customers need help while there is active issue need assistance.

Flight was delayed due to the late arrival of the catering truck, which is quite unacceptable. There was a beverage service, but no pretzel, or cookie, or nuts were served in coach.

On time take off…US cabins look tired and need of refresh!

Alaska Airlines Just Revamped Its Flight Subscription Pass — What’s New

The airline is introducing a few new perks.

non stop travel to alaska

Alaska Airlines is simplifying its flight subscription pass, offering just two options.

The pass, which the airline first launched in 2021, will now be offered with either six yearly roundtrip flights or 12 yearly roundtrip flights, Alaska shared with Travel + Leisure . The pass will cost $69 per month for the six flight plan and $129 per month for the 12 flight plan.

Previously, Alaska allowed travelers to book six, 12, or 24 roundtrip flights per year at a fixed monthly rate.

“Our subscribers value the flexibility and affordability of [the] Flight Pass, and these new enhancements will make their travel experience even more seamless,” Courtney Lansing, the managing director of business development and products at Alaska, said in a statement . “We’re proud to offer a unique service that enables guests to visit loved ones or their favorite destinations, all while securing a consistent monthly price on an airline that offers the most nonstop flights on the West Coast.”

Pass holders can book nonstop flights to select cities in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah starting as low as one cent, plus applicable taxes and airport fees. There are no change fees or blackout dates associated with the pass, and travelers can book up to two weeks in advance.

Alaska will allow current flight pass holders to switch to one of the new plans at their current price for one year or choose to cancel their subscription for free.

In addition to streamlining the pass options, Alaska said pass holders will be able to book, cancel, and manage flights directly on the airline’s website without needing to contact a reservation agent. Travelers will also be able to choose their seat, earn miles, and have access to free upgrades for elite loyalty members.

New pass subscribers can also sign up for a free year of the airline’s “Alaska Access” program, which typically costs $60 and includes a monthly Wi-Fi voucher and early access to some sales. To take advantage, subscribers should use the promo code “YEAROFACCESS” when they sign up for a pass.

The revamped pass comes a week after Alaska Airlines finalized its merger with Hawaiian Airlines . As part of the merger, both brands will remain separate, but Alaska plans to work with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to operate them with an integrated passenger system.

Key to the upgrades is streamlined booking for an even smoother trip .

Flight Pass changes: Easier booking and simplified plans

Flight Pass lets subscribers take advantage of lower-than-average fares from select cities in California, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. Most routes cost only one cent, plus taxes and fees. Additionally, by entering their Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan number and choosing a seat, members can earn miles and upgrades to First Class and Premium Class for elites (depending on availability).
  • Simplified plans: Plans are now available in two tiers:

Courtney Lansing, Managing Director of Business Development and Products, commented: “Our subscribers value the flexibility and affordability of Flight Pass, and these new enhancements will make their travel experience even more seamless. We’re proud to offer a unique service that enables guests to visit loved ones or their favorite destinations, all while securing a consistent monthly price on an airline that offers the most nonstop flights on the West Coast.”

Flight Pass has a mandatory term of 12 months from activation, during which it cannot be cancelled and is non-refundable. Following the mandatory 12-month period the subscriber may choose to cancel his/her subscription. If cancelled, the subscription will end at the end of the 12-month period. If the monthly fee of the subscription will be changing at time of renewal the subscriber will be given notice. It is the responsibility of the subscriber to cancel his/her subscription before the renewal date.

Monthly Subscription Fees

Monthly subscription fees will be stated at the time of purchase and sign-up or renewal. The price agreed upon at sign-up will remain unchanged for the duration of the membership term. This credit card can be updated after sign-up by logging into the Flight Pass account and updating the credit card information on file. Subscriptions are automatically renewed each month during the subscription term and the credit card on file will be billed accordingly. It is the responsibility of the subscriber to ensure the subscription is renewed successfully each month. Renewals will be processed on the 1st of each month, regardless of when the original sign-up and payment was made.

If a monthly payment is not successful, the subscriber will be alerted and benefits will be unavailable until a successful payment is processed. Any outstanding balance due will be charged at billing, up to and including prior months’ balances where payments were unsuccessful and unresolved.

EWallet credits are separate from the Flight Pass program and cannot be used pay monthly Flight Pass subscription fees but may be used on applicable popular flight surcharges.

Flight Reservations Payments

The credit card used to pay for flight fares, taxes, and fees is specified during the booking checkout process. The subscriber must enter a valid credit card at booking and payment must be successful for a reservation to be created.

Upon successful payment each month of the monthly membership fees, credits for roundtrip flights will be deposited into the subscriber’s Flight Pass account. The number of such credits, and the frequency they are deposited into a user’s account, vary according to the options chosen by the subscriber during initial sign-up.

During such time that successful payment cannot be made, credits will not be deposited into an account and redemption of credits for roundtrip tickets will not be available.

Credits are valid up to the indicated expiration date assigned to each credit. The expiration date for each credit is the date by which that credit must be redeemed to book a future ticket on Alaska Airlines; the expiration date is not the date by which a ticket must be flown. If a credit is redeemed and a reservation created, and that reservation is cancelled prior to the credit’s expiration date, the credit is still valid and may be redeposited into the subscriber’s account. The subscriber must call Alaska Airlines to process the flight cancellation and request credit redeposit. The redeposit process may take up to 72 hours to complete. The expiration date of the original credit applies to a redeposited credit.

If a credit is not redeemed prior to the expiration date that credit is forfeited by the subscriber. Credits cannot be rolled-over to future periods. If a credit is redeemed prior to expiration, but the reservation created by that credit is later cancelled after the credit’s expiration date, that credit is forfeit and cannot be redeposited into the subscriber’s account.

Routes & Carriers

Flight Pass credits can be redeemed for travel on nonstop Alaska Airlines flights within California and between California and Nevada, Arizona or Utah. Flights may be operated by Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, or SkyWest Airlines. Only nonstop flights may be selected; no connections are permitted. Roundtrips must be between two airports; open jaw itineraries are not permitted. Flight Pass credits may not be redeemed for travel on other airlines, including partners, or on Alaska Airlines flights beyond the specified routes.

Advanced Purchase Requirement

The minimum advance purchase required is specified at program sign-up according to the options selected by the subscriber. Credits may be redeemed for flights between that advance purchase date and up to 90 days in the future. The outbound leg of a roundtrip flight must begin within 90 days of booking.

Reservations

Subscribers redeem credits and create reservations by using alaskaair.com once signing in. After logging into their account and searching for the desired roundtrip flights, the subscriber selects their desired flights, agrees to pay any associated fares, taxes, and fees for those flights, and enters billing information. Upon successful payment a reservation is created.

All advance purchase (AP) rules of the selected subscription plan apply. In the case of misuse of subscription, Alaska Airlines reserves the right to cancel reservations made by the offending subscription.

The reservation is created for the passenger specified at initial program sign-up. No name changes or transfers are allowed.

Guest-initiated changes to reservations are permitted according to the terms laid out in this document. Changes to flights with the same routings and with the same classes of service available are allowed so long as the associated Flight Pass credit is within its valid expiration date at the date of requested flight change. If the original flight was purchased using a credit which has since expired, no changes can be made to the reservation - cancellation terms laid out in this document instead apply. The new flights must be within 90 days of the original booking date/credit redemption date and must also meet the AP requirements of the subscription. EWallet credits are separate from the Flight Pass program and cannot be used to pay monthly Flight Pass subscription fees but may be used on applicable popular flight surcharges.

Cancellations

Guest-initiated cancellation of Flight Pass reservations are permitted according to the terms in this document. Reservations may be cancelled online at www.AlaskaAir.com or by calling Alaska Airlines.

If the date of the cancel request occurs within the validity period of the credit that was redeemed to create the booking, the reservation may be cancelled and the Flight Pass credit may be redeposited into the subscriber’s account. The redeposited credit will have the same terms and expiration as the original credit. The redeposit process may take up to 72 hours to complete. The ticket value of the cancelled reservation will be returned to the guest as an eWallet credit.

3  Standby is not allowed on most tickets. Some exceptions apply. Please see fare rules specific to the purchased ticket for more details.

Membership Cancellation

The subscription cannot be cancelled by the subscriber during the mandatory period of 12 months. Following the mandatory 12-month period the subscriber may choose to cancel his/her subscription. It is the responsibility of the subscriber to cancel; unless otherwise requested the Flight Pass will continue to renew each year. Payment terms for the new 12-month period, beginning with the 13th month, are subject to change. Any new terms will be communicated to the subscriber in advance of the new term beginning.

Cancellations at the end of each subscription term may be requested via the subscription portal or by calling Alaska Airlines.

In case the customer initiates a bank clarification (chargeback) with his/her banking institution regarding the recurring charge of the Flight Pass subscription, he will not be able to use said subscription nor any of the flights acquired until such process is completed and the corresponding payment of the subscription is made, in order for it to be fully paid and valid.
