At a distance of 10 Kms from Trivandrum Central Railway Station, Akkulam Tourist Village is a beautiful picnic spot on the banks of the Akkulam Lake. The Tourist Village has a boat club, a well-equipped children's park, snack bar and a paddle pool and a swimming pool for adults. The Akkulam Tourist Village is constructed where the native lagoon amalgamates with the Arabian Sea and the area is dotted with fish ponds, wading pools and beautiful landscaped gardens. Of late the city aims at constructing the first musical dancing fountain, which represents the Padmamanabha Swamy Temple in the background. After the launch of this tourist village in Akkulam, it got a very good response. Within the sixth month of launch, 1.5 Lakh visitors visited this village and the department got an income of 1 crore. Now after the huge success of this village, Akkulam Adventure Tourism decided to make a glass bridge in this tourist village. This whole project will be initiated by the tourism department.

This glass Bridge is made of high-quality glass having a dimension of 36 metres long and its height is 54 feet from the ground. In the second phase, this glass Bridge will be extended up to 80 meters. The main motive for starting this glass Bridge is to give tourists the best view like a beachside view and sunset view.

The total construction cost of this class Bridge is approximately 75 lakh in the first phase. Akkulam Troy train is also in the pipeline of the second phase project. We are going to build new Infrastructures in which virtual reality zones and pet parks are going to start soon in the second phase. Various types of water sports activities will be started by the tourism department soon in this village area.
