The One Where Dallas Gets A Pivotal ‘Friends’ Immersive Experience

If you know every FRIENDS™ reference — from the most famous (“We were on a break!”) to the most obscure (“15 Yemen Road, Yemen”) — you must visit the incredible FRIENDS™ Experience: The One in Dallas, now open at The Shops at Willow Bend !

This new immersive experience brings the FRIENDS™ set to life with two floors of interactive activities, irresistible merch, original props, and nostalgia-packed rooms recreated from the hit ‘90s series.

The exhibit features over 10 rooms with a series of set-pieces so you and your friends can recreate the show’s funniest sketches in its most iconic sets, including Joey and Chandler’s apartment, Monica and Rachel’s kitchen, Central Perk, and the famous fountain and couch as seen in the series’ intro.

In order to ensure public safety, the experience will be “Monica Clean” and implement numerous sanitary measures. As well as required masks to enter, thorough cleaning efforts, and available sanitizing stations located throughout the pop-up will be in place to ensure a safe and friendly experience.

There will also be the chance to relive some of the show’s most iconic moments: like the Pivot heard round the world! Step into the famous scene where Ross, Chandler, and Rachel try to move in a couch and try your hand at pushing it up yourself on the recreated stair corner from the show. You’ll also get to poke Ugly Naked Guy, and take part in plenty of other interactive activities spread throughout the experience.

Finally — and trust us — this is one of those immersive experiences where you’d gladly exit through the gift shop! The exhibit’s merch store includes t-shirts, coffee mugs, books, and other retail favorites — notwithstanding Joey’s bedtime penguin pal, Hugsy.

Friends Experience interactive tour is coming to six new cities

Relive moments from the series with re-created sets and props.

• Named a Tech Media Trailblazer by the Consumer Technology Association in 2019, a winner of SPJ NorCal's Excellence in Journalism Awards in 2022 and has three times been a finalist in the LA Press Club's National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards.

Fans of the sitcom Friends will now be able to relive the series with new tour locations for The Friends Experience. The experience, which was first launched in New York City, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta and Dallas to celebrate the show's 25th anniversary , lets visitors re-create moments from the show with props and sets modeled after those in the show, like Monica's kitchen and the iconic Friends fountain.  

Next year, the experience will be coming to six new cities: Nashville, Tennessee; Denver; Phoenix; San Francisco; Washington, DC; and Toronto. You can go to the  Friends Experience website to join the waitlist and learn more about opening dates and ticket sales when they become available.

The Friends Experience's New York City flagship will continue to sell tickets through March 27. Those tickets cost $45 plus taxes and fees, and can be purchased via the  Friends Experience New York page .

In addition to set re-creations, visitors can see original props and costumes from the show and can shop at the Friends Experience store. (The store is also open to the public.) The New York City location also has a grab-and-go cafe within a re-created Central Perk.

COVID-19 protocols will be in place for the tours, including social distancing, mask requirements and "thorough cleaning and sanitization measures," according to a release.

Could I *be* more excited?

It’s never been easier for Friends fans to channel Ross, Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, and Chandler with a Central Perk-inspired hangout. Whether you decide to visit a Friends pop-up with your besties or take a virtual tour of all the show’s most iconic filming locations from the comfort of your home, you know it’s got to be as epic as the Friends cast coming together. Be inspired by the OG Central Perk crew by doing one of the many Friends TV show-inspired experiences and events that are available.

Instead of just planning to rewatch your favorite episodes from the series for the millionth time, “pivot” your plans a bit to include a little Friends -themed adventure as well. If you’re in a city like NYC or Dallas, you and your crew could visit some of the replicated sets from the show for a few Instagram snaps. If you don’t have a “pla” yet for how you’ll be rewatching Friends , you can make one by renting out a Friends- themed Airbnb and watching the show together in your matching Friends crewnecks ($38.25, Etsy). Keep in mind, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that you should delay any travel plans until you’re fully vaccinated , and even after you’ve all received all your vaccinations, you should still follow the COVID-19 protocols of the places you’re visiting. Once that’s all set, you can live out your Friends -related dreams with the Rachel to your Monica.

You and your Day 1s are no longer on a break, so make this hangout one that would leave Janice saying, “Oh. My. God.” Any of these nine Friends- inspired experiences would be a good start.

Thanks to Booking.com and The Friends Experience , you and your BFF could spend the night hanging out in Monica and Rachel’s living room, playing foosball in Joey and Chandler’s apartment, and catching up on the Central Perk couch. Booking.com is offering a sleepover in the Friends pop-up in NYC for only $19.94 (an homage to the year the show premiered). While it’s not currently taking reservations for overnight stays, you’ll want to keep checking back to enjoy access to the different sets for tons of Insta pics and moments to recreate your fave scenes from the series.

Don’t worry if you weren’t able to score an overnight stay at The Friends Experience. You can still visit the interactive space in NYC ($45), plus the pop-up will be coming to Dallas, Texas from Nov. 4 through Jan. 17, 2022 ($32.50-$39.50). Throughout the experience, you’ll get to see not only replicated sets, but also actual costumes and props used in the show. There’s also a store for some fun souvenirs, and the New York location has a Central Perk where you can buy coffee and pastries.

Visit the city where Friends takes place from the comfort of your own couch. On Location Tours is offering a virtual Friends tour for only $29. The 40-minute tour takes you to 18 different locations in NYC that were used as inspiration or referenced in the show.

You’ll get to the see the exterior used for the Friends apartment, as well as Bloomingdale’s, the Museum of Natural History, and Saks 5th Avenue. There’s also an option to upgrade your tour package ($68) to include a Friends -themed box shipped to you with goodies inside.

If you’re in NYC, On Location Tours has an in-person TV and Movie tour ($61 per person). It will take you to some of the Friends locations throughout the city, like the apartment building in the West Village. You’ll also get to see spots from other TV shows like Glee and The Mindy Project , as well as movies like When Harry Met Sally and Avengers: Endgame.

Need a special place to watch the Friends reunion? How about a Friends- themed Airbnb ($46 per night) with a kitchen that looks just like Monica and Rachel’s? This studio for two in Canada is the perfect place to rewatch the show with your bestie. You could even stock up on some of Serendipity’s Friends Central Perk Coffee Almond Fudge ice cream ($8) for a sweet snack to enjoy while watching.

If you’re U.K.-based, you’re in luck, because FriendsFest is returning from Nov. 5 through Nov. 19 in Blackpool and Nov. 25 through Dec. 19 in London (£29-£34). The ultimate fan experience includes Insta-worthy sets, Central Perk snacks, and exclusive merchandise. It’ll be like the episode of Friends where everyone travels to London for Ross and Emily’s wedding — only you’ll make it even better (and not say anyone else’s name at the altar).

Having watched every episode multiple times, you’re basically a Friends scholar. Put your knowledge to the test with an online Friends trivia night ($10). There will be three rounds of multiple choice questions, and the winners get to take home a cash prize. There’s also a costume contest, so start thinking of what you and your friends can put together now. You could also just put on every item in your closet to be like Joey pretending to be Chandler. Could you be wearing anymore clothes?

Eventbrite has another Friends trivia night ($7) planned where you can flex your Friends knowledge. This particular virtual trivia game is all about Friends quotes, so you know you’re going to kill it. Surprise everyone with how much you can quote the show, because they don’t know that you know they know you know.

Another Friends experience you can plan with your besties is to go on the Warner Bros. Studio ($69) tour in Burbank, CA. On the tour, you’ll get to see actual sets from the show, like the part of Central Park where Phoebe and Rachel go for a run. There’s also a Central Perk set where you can take a photo on the couch with your friends.

The CDC recommends traveling only after you’re fully vaccinated and your vaccine has become fully effective . If you’re not fully vaccinated and must travel, check the CDC guidelines before you book. Check your destination’s vaccination and testing requirements before you depart.

DALLAS — As the Dallas teams get underway with their Western Conference series games, basketball and hockey fans may be looking for a place to cheer on their teams.

The Dallas Mavericks tip-off their first game on Wednesday night at the Target Center in Minnesota. Hero, a sports bar in Dallas, is hosting an official watch party for this kick off to the series. Hero is located on 3090 Nowitzki Way. The party will start at 7 p.m. with tip-off at 7:30 p.m.

DALLAS STARS

For the hockey fans, the Dallas Stars are hosting watch parties for their away games. On May 27, they will be hosting a watch party at PNC Plaza, outside of the AAC south entrance. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to have a place to sit and to park for free in the Lexus garage.

On May 29, the Stars will be hosting a watch party inside the AAC for the Western Conference Final. If fans want to attend, the team asks that a $10 donation be made to the Dallas Stars Foundation and have your ticket ready at the door. Two-time PGA Tour winner Grayson Murray died Saturday morning at age 30, the Tour confirmed.

Murray withdrew Friday late in his second round at the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, citing an illness.

There were no immediate details on the circumstances surrounding his death. (Update: The family released a statement Sunday morning related to Murray’s death.)

In a memo to the membership that was released Saturday afternoon, commissioner Jay Monahan wrote: “I am at a loss for words. The PGA Tour is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same. There is nothing we can do but mourn Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones.”

Monahan said that, after a conversation with Murray’s parents, tournament play at Colonial would continue.

“They were adamant that Grayson would want us to do so,” said Monahan, who flew to Texas to meet with players. “As difficult as it will be, we want to respect their wishes.”

Murray won the Sony Open in a playoff earlier this year, ending a six-year winless drought during which he’d struggled both mentally and physically.

Murray, who was profiled in this in-depth piece by Golf Channel in 2017, had been open about his battles with anxiety and depression. He said in January that he sought treatment in the past few years for alcohol abuse but had been sober for several months.

“Grayson was the absolute best,” his caddie, Jay Green, told GolfChannel.com via text message. “Not only was he an incredible, thoughtful and generous boss, he was an even better friend. He truly would do anything for anyone. He has the best family, and my heart goes out to them. We will all miss him deeply.”

Following his victory at Waialae, Murray spoke optimistically about his future, saying that he had rediscovered his faith and was engaged to be married to Christiana Ritchie, whom he met in 2021.

“I wouldn’t trade anything,” Murray said at the time. “I have a beautiful fiancée. I have beautiful parents. I have beautiful nephews, siblings. Everyone in my life right now who is close to me, who has been through the struggles with me, it’s all a team effort. I think this is just the start of something really special.”

Growing up, Murray was one of the best prospects in the country, winning the prestigious Junior Worlds three times and becoming, at age 16, then the second-youngest to make the cut on the Korn Ferry Tour. Though he bounced around in college, Murray made an immediate impact once he landed on the PGA Tour, claiming the 2017 Barbasol Championship as a 22-year-old rookie.

“Best thing and worst thing that ever happened to me was winning my rookie year but also feeling like I was invincible,” Murray said in January. He said he often drank to excess while at tournaments while battling his personal demons.

Murray, who spent time on the PGA and Korn Ferry tours over the last five years, regained his PGA Tour status this year after winning twice on the secondary circuit in 2023 and believed he was better equipped to handle the challenges of Tour life.

“It took me a long time to get to this point,” he said. “That was over seven years ago. I’m a different man now.”

Ranked 58th in the world, Murray had made the cut in the first two majors of the year, including last week at the PGA Championship, where he tied for 43 rd . He was exempt into next month’s U.S. Open.

“We will hold off on commenting until we learn further details,” said his management company, GSE, in a statement, “but our heart aches for his family, his friends and all who loved him during this very difficult time.”

(AP) - Two-time PGA Tour winner Grayson Murray died Saturday morning at age 30, one day after he withdrew from the Charles Schwab Cup Challenge at Colonial.

There were no immediate details on the circumstances of his death, only shock and grief from the PGA Tour and his management team.

“I am at a loss for words,” PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan said. “The PGA Tour is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same. We mourn Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones.”

His management company, GSE Worldwide, confirmed the death and said it was heartbroken.

“We will hold off on commenting until we learn further details, but our heart aches for his family, his friends and all who loved him during this very difficult time,” GSE said in a statement.

Monahan said he spoke with Murray’s parents to offer condolences, and they asked that the tournament in Fort Worth, Texas, continue.

He said grief counselors would be on site at the PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour event in Knoxville, Tennessee. Monahan headed to Texas and later appeared on CBS as the third round was ending.

“To see the devastation on the faces of every player coming in is really difficult to see and really just profound,” Monahan said. “Grayson was a remarkable player, but he was a very courageous man. I’ve always loved that about him.”

Murray, who had dealt with alcohol and mental health issues in the past, made a massive turnaround this year and won the Sony Open, hitting wedge to 3 feet for birdie on the final hole to get into a playoff and winning it with a 40-foot putt.

He also won the Barbasol Championship in 2017.

“It was a huge shock. My heart sank,” said Webb Simpson, who learned of Murray’s death shortly before teeing off at Colonial. He said Murray was the first winner of his junior tournament and they shared the same swing coach as juniors.

“I just hate it so much,” Simpson said. “I’m going to miss him. I’m thankful he was in the place with his faith before this morning happened.”

Murray was No. 58 in the world rankings coming off a tie for 43rd in the PGA Championship last week at Valhalla. He also made the cut in his Masters debut, finishing 51st, and was in the field for the U.S. Open next month at Pinehurst No. 2.

Murray, who grew up in North Carolina, was among the most talented juniors in the country. He won the prestigious Junior World Championship in San Diego three straight years and earned the Arnold Palmer Scholarship at Wake Forest.

He wound up going to three colleges, lastly at Arizona State, and won as a 22-year-old PGA Tour rookie at the Barbasol Championship.

Murray said in January that he had been sober for eight months, was engaged to be married, had become a Christian and felt his best golf was ahead of him. He was appointed to the 16-member Player Advisory Council.

“My story is not finished. I think it’s just beginning,” Murray said in Hawaii. “I hope I can inspire a lot of people going forward that have their own issues.”

Murray said he used to drink during tournament weeks as a rookie because he knew he had talent and felt he was invincible. He also brought attention to himself through social media, openly criticizing other players and getting into one social media spat with Kevin Na over Na’s reputation as a slow player.

But he felt like he turned the corner when he sought help — letting others fight for him, is how he explained it this year.

“It took me a long time to get to this point,” Murray said in January. “That was seven years ago, over seven years ago. I’m a different man now. I would not be in this position right now today if I didn’t put that drink down eight months ago.”

Peter Malnati played with Murray at Colonial. He offered to go on the CBS telecast Saturday afternoon and immediately broke down trying to talk about him.

“It’s a huge loss for all of us on the PGA Tour,” Malnati said. “As much as we want to beat each other, we’re one big family, and we lost one today. It’s terrible.”
