Inside Demi Lovato's Modern California Farmhouse

Released on 09/07/2022

Hey, AD. I'm Demi Lovato.

Welcome to my home.

[catchy music]

For this house, I wanted to make each room

very special and different from the next.

When curating the collection of art for this house,

I wanted to highlight emerging artists

from underrepresented communities.

I was able to get really creative with argyle design.

I had such an amazing time designing this house with them.

This was actually my reception room,

kind of formal living room.

I wanted it to feel very maximalist and creative.

There's like this amazing piece

by Hannah Epstein called White Pumps.

I love my yellow couch.

I think it brightens up the room.

I love the rug from House of Hackney.

We've got this statue in the corner

that I think just gives it a really chic touch.

The chandelier in this room is designed by Moooi

and it's called Meshmatics,

and I think what's really beautiful about this

is it brings a soft touch to the rest of the room.

Literally, the purpose of this room

is just to give it that wow factor

when people walk into the house.

I literally spend no time in here, but my dogs love it.

Speaking of my dogs,

I wanna show you where they spend the most time.

This is my pup area.

This is where they go to the bathroom.

They spend their time. This is where they eat their food.

The design out here, I wanted to keep it

really cute and zen for them.

I added really cute touches

with these play dogs and the matching chairs,

and then they have their little portraits out here as well.

This is where I get ready.

Having a glam room is really important to me

because I spend so much time getting

my hair and makeup done for jobs and everything.

And so I wanted this room to feel really cozy,

really fun with a lot of energy

so that when I get ready to go to work,

I am in a really good mood and feeling great.

Some of the things that I love about this room

is this neon sign that says,

You're never fully dressed without a smile.

And it's actually kind of funny

'cause I used to do beauty pageants,

and that was the song that I would sing

when I first started out.

It's just kind of always stuck with me.

It's such a true statement.

You can put all the makeup on in the world,

but unless you're feeling good about yourself

then it's gonna show,

so it's just a cute little reminder to stay positive.

This is the ribbon chair by Pierre Paulin,

and this is a custom mirror

that we got really big for this room by Gustaf Westman.

I wanted the palm trees wallpaper because I just thought

it reminds me of the Beverly Hills hotel.

And I just love this color combo,

the hot pink and the dark green.

I just think, I don't know, it's cozy.

Sometimes I have friends that come over

and they'll sit on this couch and they'll watch me glam

and I'll play music, and it's just like

I keep a really good energy in here

so that before I go to work, I'm feeling great.

This is my living room and I really, really love it.

We just painted it this eggplant deep rich color.

And what's cool about this is the light

from the backyard actually illuminates the room.

You'd think that if you painted a room a dark color

that it would actually make it

feel enclosed and kind of cold,

but it actually warmed up the room

and brings in the natural light really well.

I love the contrast between the color of the walls

and the color of the couch.

I have a lot of really cool little details

about this room that I love having.

So right there, I have a little mushroom chair.

These were imported and they are crystal lamps.

This is zebra onyx, and it's actually all crystal.

There's also a leather pig right here because why not?

So this table is actually a bonsai tree,

and it's by an artist named Willie Darrow.

It's the same artist that actually had

the crystals on the wall piece.

And I just love how there's so much

floral aspects to the art.

It's really important to keep the energy

and life alive in the house by doing so.

This piece is by Lola Rose Thompson,

and what I love about this piece

is it brings so much color into this room.

There's a lot of deep and rich colors,

but in here you've got rainbow

and it's just really beautiful.

I love how it lightens up the room.

I have these really cool light fixtures

that are actually made by pieces of onion and resins,

so these are my onion lamps,

and they were a vintage find.

This is my kitchen, still really light, good energy.

And I wanted to keep it distinct from the living room,

so we have this amazing Gucci wallpaper.

It's really important to pay attention to details.

We have these handles that are really fun.

What I love about this space

are the colors that this brings

and the contrast that it has to the living room.

I think that having a giant island

is really important when you're hosting,

and I like to cook with my friends

so this is a really central piece in the house.

It's a great place for hosting.

And then after we cook,

we like to go down to the theater and watch movies.

I like to keep the details brass in the kitchen.

These salt and pepper shakers are really cute.

Just like fun, little details are all around the house

to keep it fresh, young, creative,

and also cozy at the same time.

So this is my little breakfast nook area

where I like to eat the breakfast that I cook

because I am really good at breakfast.

This piece right here is actually by Luke Chiswell,

and it's a destroyed skateboard that says pretty on it.

I love the dichotomy of something being distressed

and it's saying pretty at the same time.

What I love about this piece,

it's the vertigo lamp by Melia.

And it's actually iridescent, so if you look closely,

it's got this really beautiful finish to it

that I think is a really nice touch.

It kind of matches the psychedelic theme

of the rest of the house.

[engaging music]

I wanted to show you this really fun hallway that I have.

The wallpaper is actually from the same wallpaper company

as the reception room by Porter Teleo.

And we also have these pieces right here

that are by GucciGhost.

And it's really fun to take selfies in this mirror

'cause you've got GucciGhost in the background.

This is my dining room.

What I love about it is it's got

this kind of mermaid feel to it.

I have a lot of incredible art pieces in here.

It's also one of the first things

you see when you come into the house.

Also, a little fun detail in this room

is I have these chairs

that are actually too small to sit in, but they look great.

I wanna take you upstairs and I will meet you up there.

I'm gonna take my

really fun, colorful mirrored elevator.

[elevator dings]

That was me and my spaceship.

That's what I call it

'cause it's just really futuristic and fun.

One of my favorite rooms is up here

and I wanna show you what I call my shroom room.

This is my cloud chandelier.

One of my favorite things about this cloud chandelier

is that if you're playing music

it changes colors to the beat of the music.

So you'll see a lot of art pieces

by one of my favorite artists, Jen Stark,

and she actually did a custom mural on the ceiling.

Also, another cool thing about this room

is on the windows, there's this window pane,

and when the light comes in, it reflects like rainbow,

almost kaleidoscope type of light on the room.

What's so fun about having this room

is that it's a really cool hang for me and my friends.

We can watch TV. We can just chill in here.

We have a lot of good conversations,

and it's also really nice to just listen to music

and feel creative in this room.

How I unwind after a long day,

sometimes I come in here and I play guitar.

Other times, I come in here

and I lay down on this really cozy bed.

I love to binge watch.

Right now, I'm rewatching Dexter.

I like to spend my lazy time in my room.

So you'll see more crystals in my house.

You've got this big-ass Selenite up there.

You've got this big-ass amethyst.

And you'll actually see on all the lamps in the room,

they have amethyst crystals as well.

This is the main bathroom.

You have some of my favorite light fixtures in here.

This chandelier is

kind of reminds me of dripping wax or resin,

which is really cool, but it's actually glass.

And you have this other really cool mirror,

which looks like it's dripping, and I love that.

I have so much clothing in my regular closet

that I had to make my guest room into another closet.

You might see some of my favorite outfits in here.

You've got this Joshua Tree kind of desert vibes in here.

I love it, I think it's really fun to come in here

and see old pieces that I haven't worn in a while.

This is my backyard, and what I love about my backyard

is it's still so colorful.

You've got the yellow umbrellas.

You've got really cool seating areas.

You have the bar and grill.

But I think my favorite part of the backyard

is actually my squirrels that I feed,

and they're right here.

That's Teddy, and that's also Teddy.

I named them all Teddy because I can't tell the difference.

They'll actually come up to me and eat out of my hand.

This is my in-ground trampoline.

I love jumping on the trampoline,

and I wanted one in my backyard,

but I didn't want the netting to look tacky,

so I put it in the ground.

I would jump on the trampoline, but I'm not wearing a bra,

so that's not happening.

My studio is a very sacred space to me.

It's some place where I feel like I can come in,

I can completely be myself, be totally vulnerable,

and just write about what I'm feeling.

The studio, I wanted to keep it light and airy

and a very kind of creative environment.

I recorded most of my last album in quarantine,

and I did it right in my home studio,

which was really nice.

And I've actually recorded a song

from my new album called Forever For Me,

and I wrote it in here, I sang it in here.

This is where I get creative.

Okay, guys, thank you so much for coming to my home.

I hope you enjoyed watching and I will see you later.

I gotta get to the studio, so you don't gotta go home,

but you gotta get the hell outta here.

Demi Lovato’s Crib Is So Unique! See Photos Inside the Singer’s Artistic L.A. Home

Best and Worst Dressed Stars at iHeart Country Festival: Photos

Demi Lovato   lives in a super artistic and dreamy Los Angeles house! The “Skin of My Teeth” singer gave a full tour of their home in September 2022 with  Architectural Digest .

Inside the stunning Studio City crib includes six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, each intricately complemented with different pieces of art and furniture, including sculptures and wall paintings. Not only that, but the place even includes a “colorful mirrored elevator,” which Demi calls their “spaceship because it’s really futuristic and fun.”

“There’s a lot of female empowerment as well, so keeping pieces that are representative of the female figure was very important to me,” she told the outlet . “We live in a world that shuts you out of honoring female bodies, so I want it to be in your face in my house.”

The “29” artist has a bright pink dressing room area to do their makeup, hair and other beauty essentials. The room features a large pink mirror, palm tree wallpaper, a ribbon chair and pink curtains. But the piece-de-resistance is a neon sign that reads “You’re never fully dressed without a smile,” which Demi credited her past pageant days for learning the phrase.

“I used to do beauty pageants, and that was the song that I would sing when I first started out,” they explained. “It’s just kind of always stuck with me. It’s such a true statement. Like, you can put all the makeup on in the world, but unless you’re feeling good about yourself, then it’s gonna show. So, it’s just a cute little reminder to stay positive.”

Demi’s living room area comes with floor to ceiling windows, which lighten the room with natural sunlight, and differentiating colored furniture. A tan couch sits in the center along with black chairs, a white rug, and yellow wallpaper.

Next, the New Mexico native did a walkthrough of their “shroom room,” which features a huge fluffy cloud light fixture, a colorful couch and chairs, clear lamps and a rainbow ceiling.

“This is my cloud chandelier,” Demi shared, noting that its colors change to the beat of music whenever it plays in the room. In addition to that, the walls are adorned with various art pieces.

“It’s totally different because the last house that I owned for myself — I didn’t have a vision for it,” the former Disney Channel star noted about her former home. “It was just this blank, white, minimalistic yet cozy home. I really loved living there, but at the same time, it felt empty.”

Demi then described how a home should be where they “can rest easy and where [they] can stay — even if there’s a quarantine or lockdown — and feel completely fulfilled.”

“I have no reason to leave, this is exactly everything that I’ve wanted in a house,” she concluded.

Demi Lovato may be as famous as they come, but stars, they say, are just like us. After spending one too many months cooped up during the early days of quarantine, the award-winning singer-songwriter and actor felt ready for a new home in Los Angeles that checked all the boxes. So, as a real estate frenzy was taking over the country, Lovato was also in the midst of a pandemic house hunt.

The entryway evokes a calm energy with a scarce number of objects. Untitled RL032 by Ko Kirk Yamahira hangs above an Ekstrem chair. A curvaceous vase is placed on the Italia travertine table with a black Alvar Aalto stool. An Ettore doorstop by Magis can be spotted in the corner.

Lovato admits that she doesn’t spend much time in the reception room but wanted it to be dramatic since it’s the first room people see when they walk into the modern house. The Tangled wallpaper by Porter Teleo was a fitting choice. A Tentazione sofa by Mario Bellini in yellow velvet, Tulip stools by Eero Saarinen, and LCW chairs by Eames for Herman Miller in a black finish can all be seen. White Pumps by Hannah Epstein is mounted above the mantel. A Saber rug from House of Hackney is on the floor.

With six bedrooms and seven bathrooms spread across 8,500 square feet, this Studio City modern farmhouse provided the blank canvas that Lovato had always dreamed about. Another bonus was the theatre and, of course, the backyard swimming pool. “I love the outdoor space,” she explains over Zoom. “I also loved that it had everything that I needed—there were a lot of houses that were beautiful, but there wasn’t [another] house that could have a room for glam, a room for my fittings, a room for my studio… Also, the vibe was really beautiful, and I just fell in love with it when I saw it.”

The living room features a Desede DS-600 Nonstop sofa, MR20 armchairs by Mies van der Rohe, D’urbino and Lomazzi Piumino lounge chairs, and a set of nesting tables by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina. The bonsai coffee table is by Willy Daro.

A Barcelona-style daybed is stationed in front of a Damien Hirst painting and a Vladimir Kagan lamp in this hallway, where guests have a stunning view of the Seashell pendant chandelier by Verner Panton. Lovato is particularly obsessed with this painting, Summer Volleyball, by Monica Kim Garza.

It was here that Lovato conceptualized Holy Fvck, her eighth full-length album with Island Records. It’s a culmination of the 30-year-old’s rebirth and also marks a return to her rock and pop-punk roots. Designing this house was a process that paralleled that personal journey. This time around, Lovato wanted every inch of the space to fully embody her personality—and the sense of fluidity that continues to shape her identity.

Argyle Studio incorporated fish and seashells into the dining room decor to create an underwater ambiance. A leopard print rug from Safavieh can be spotted under the Warren Platner dining set. A six-globe chandelier from Entler Studio hangs from the ceiling. Truth or Dare by Yasmine Nasser Diaz is positioned between a pair of Uchiwa wall sconces by Ingo Maurer.

A set of Azalea mink bar stools from CB2 can be seen at the island, with Scraplights by Graypants hanging from above.

Incidentally, Lovato’s head of security connected her with Argyle Design founders Kat Bell and James Drew. As soon as the trio met, it felt like a perfect fit. “It’s totally different because the last house that I owned for myself—I didn’t have a vision for it,” she explains. “It was just this blank, white, minimalistic yet cozy home… I really loved living there, but at the same time, it felt empty.”

Lovato refers to this corner of the kitchen, with a set of Mario Bellini chairs and a Tulip table by Eero Saarinen, as the breakfast nook. A painting by Lillian Martinez is mounted on the wall, which is covered in Gucci’s Lilies wallpaper. This iridescent pendant from Petite-Friture is a nod to the psychedelic effects sprinkled throughout the space.

Bell emphasizes how establishing a level of trust with Lovato was a particularly unique, and special, experience. “Demi is a dream client for anyone to have,” she says. Overall, it was a super collaborative process, as the pair translated Lovato’s mood board into each room. This meant leaning into maximalism and pairing unexpected pieces together to create a spectrum of distinct vibes. “The house has great energy,” Drew says. “I’m not usually one that believes in that kind of stuff, but one thing I will say is doing this house was so much fun.”

The star strikes a pose on the Ribbon chair in the corner of their glam room.

Lovato spends a lot of time getting ready in the glam room. Argyle Studio sourced a Curvy mirror from Gustaf Westman, Ribbon chair by Pierre Paulin, Togo sofa by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset, and Kashmir rug by Cape Original.

Of course, this was all part of Lovato’s grand plan—she wanted her home to have good hosting energy filtered through an immersive experience. She gets excited when disclosing some of the provocative Easter eggs hidden around the house, such as mushroom-shaped stools, butt vases, and salt and pepper shakers shaped like boobs. Bell refers to these items as “LOL moments” that are a reflection of Lovato’s playful personality, noting, “We wanted to make sure that anywhere you look there’s this piece that you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, what is that?’”

“My favourite room in the house has been and probably will always be the Shroom Room,” Lovato says. “It’s such a fun experience when you walk into it and spend time in it.”

The powder room feels majestic thanks to its Phantasia wallpaper from House of Hackney, which puts clouds of mushrooms and dragons on display.

Eva Seta, director of communications at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, was hired to curate the artwork, which includes pieces by emerging artists from underrepresented communities such as Monica Kim Garza, Lilian Martinez, Hannah Epstein, Yasmine Nasser Diaz, and Lola Rose Thompson. “I wanted it to be a very queer environment,” Lovato explains. “There’s a lot of female empowerment as well, so keeping pieces that are representative of the female figure was very important to me. We live in a world that shuts you out of honouring female bodies, so I want it to be in your face in my house.”

To that point, Lovato insisted on having her very own glam room. Beyond the eye-catching embellishments, like pieces of Pierre Paulin and Michael Ducaroy furniture, a Murano chandelier, a custom Gustaf Westman mirror, and a neon sign that reads “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile,” the interior also features a fully functioning shampoo bowl from a hair salon. “I used to have a wine cellar, but I don’t drink wine, so now it holds a lot of wigs,” Lovato adds. (While she has been open about the ups and downs of her recovery journey, Lovato announced her commitment to full sobriety in December 2021 following the release of the docuseries Dancing with the Devil .)

Bell and Drew’s vision for the primary bedroom was whimsical, with an “ethereal heaven-type feel to it” and a touch of rock and roll. They sourced a Cleopatra Chaise Lounge by Geoffrey D. Harcourt RDI for Artifort and a pair of Beluga chairs by Atra to match the custom bed platform. The silver bronze cheetah and Kartell Colonna side table add some excitement.

Lovato wanted the primary bathroom to be very zen, which was achieved thanks to pieces like an opalescent chandelier by Carlo Nason. “It was really important to me to have an area that I could really, really relax in,” Lovato notes. Custom ottoman upholstered in House of Hackney’s Tigre velvet.

There are some other unconventional spaces, like the “Shroom Room,” where Lovato’s guests can spread out on a custom-made modular sectional set by Hans Hopfer for Roche Bobois, which was inspired by the Mah Jong sofa. There’s also a pair of Tongue chairs by Pierre Paulin with shimmering silver walls and curtains. An interactive cloud lamp by Rania Peet hangs from a mural ceiling by Jen Stark, which brings the whole room to life; Lovato enjoys listening to music there while watching the cloud change colours.

demi lovato home

Lovato refers to this room as her “overflow closet,” where she keeps stuff that “I don’t actually wear, but I don’t know what to do with it.”

The lavender-hued dining room adopts a more aquatic tone, with fixtures like Uchiwa wall sconces and a chandelier from Entler Studio reminiscent of tentacles. To make the kitchen feel more grounded, Bell and Drew paired Gucci’s Lilies wallpaper with wood finishes and brass details, as well as other earth-toned elements. The living room is arguably bolder, with a Desede DS-600 Nonstop sofa wrapped around a bonsai tree coffee table and zebra onyx crystal lamps.

demi lovato

If the Murano glass chandelier dangling from the ceiling doesn’t make it obvious, the studio design takes inspiration from crystals. “The studio is my place where I create, it’s my little safe haven, and I wanted it to be comfortable and zen, and fun and creative at the same time,” Lovato says. A pair of velvet Eero Saarinen executive chairs and an upholstered stitch stool by Eny Lee Parker are placed around a rug from Cold Picnic. The studio build-out was by Rob Rettberg.

While the house already had solid interior architecture, the real heavy lifting went into transforming the pool house into a recording studio that doubles as a sacred space. The result is a creative environment with soft textures embodied by objects like an Upholstered Stitch Stool by Eny Lee Parker and a Cold Picnic rug. Since Lovato was inspired by crystals, Bell and Drew sourced a vintage 1960s Italy Vistosi chandelier with iridescent Murano glass discs for the ceiling. That same spiritual energy can be felt in Lovato’s primary bedroom, which is whimsical with a touch of rock and roll.

Lovato’s beloved Yorkipoos are living their best lives in the five-star puppy lounge. “It’s completely netted, so that they can go out there anytime they want and feel totally safe,” she adds.

demi lovato home

On the patio, a set of pink Roly Poly chairs by Faye Toogood are set around a glass table with a brass base; it is one of Lovato’s go-to breakfast spots.

The backyard is another universe of its own thanks to its pool, hot tub, fire pit, outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill, and a secluded patio. There’s also a special area designated for Lovato’s dogs, Batman and Cinderella, secured with netting, so the pups can safely play outside without the threat of local hawks and coyotes. (Elsewhere, she installed miniature tables with a feeding station for the neighbourhood squirrels.)

demi lovato home

Lovato’s favourite feature in the backyard is the theatre screen that pulls down so she can watch movies outside from wherever she wants. “You can watch them from the bed, from inside the hot tub, or in the pool, and it’s a really cool vibe,” she adds.

demi lovato home

“I take a lot of meetings there—a lot of brainstorming has come from those two couches,” Lovato says about this pair of CB2 love seats on the patio.

After achieving everything that she set out to do in designing this space, Lovato couldn’t be more satisfied with the results. “Home to me is where I can rest easy and where I can stay—even if there’s a quarantine or lockdown—and  feel completely fulfilled,” she concludes. “I have no reason to leave, this is exactly everything that I’ve wanted in a house.”

We're Confident You'll Love Demi Lovato's Modern California Home

Demi lovato gave a tour of california home, including her "sacred place" and the crystal that caused her to get stitches in july..

It's not a skyscraper, but Demi Lovato 's modern California home is just as impressive.

The " Heart Attack " singer showed off her stylish house in an  Architectural Digest  Open Door video Sept. 7, where each room was intentionally designed by Demi to have its own personality.

"For this house, I wanted to make each room very special and different from the next," she said. "When curating the collection of art for this house, I wanted to highlight emerging artists from underrepresented communities."

Taking viewers inside the home, Demi showed off her living room, outdoor space for her dogs, glam room and kitchen.

The glam room had a hot pink and dark green palette, complete with a yellow neon sign that read, "you're never fully dressed without a smile," which is one of her favorite things about the room.

"It's such a true statement," Demi said about the sign, "You can put all the makeup on in the world, but unless you're feeling good about yourself, then it's gonna show, so it's just a cute little reminder to stay positive."

Other bits of stand-out decor throughout Demi's home include a mushroom chair and vintage onion lamps in her living room. A broken skateboard with the word "Pretty" scratched on the surface hangs on the wall in her breakfast nook.

The " Sorry Not Sorry " singer explained the skateboard's significance, adding that she loved "the dichotomy of something being distressed and say it's pretty at the same time."

Upstairs, Demi gave a tour of her "shroom room"—a kaleidoscope-colored hang out space complete with a cloud chandelier that changes color to the beat of music.

She also shared her crystal collection in her bedroom, including the giant amethyst that the performer hit her head on in July, causing her to get stitches a day before an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! .

Demi finished off the tour with a look into her "sacred space"—her at-home recording studio, which is filled with framed album artwork and musical instruments.

According to the singer, it was designed to be a "very kind of creative environment."

Demi added, "It's some place where I feel like I can come in, I can be completely be myself, be totally vulnerable and just write about what I'm feeling."

Updated on November 20, 2023

Demi Lovato has lived a lot of life in her young age, and her baller real estate is just the beginning. Here’s all you need to know about Demi Lovato house in the Hollywood Hills!

Where Does Demi Lovato Live?

Demi Lovato has owned and rented her fair share of jaw-dropping real estate. At 15 years of age, Lovato rented a luxurious, $2.2 million-dollar Mediterranean-style Los Angeles home near Toluca Lake, where other big names such as Miley Cyrus and Melissa McCarthy have called home. Lovato’s home featured six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a swimming pool, and a family room. The star reportedly resided in the home for two years until choosing to relocate to a nearby sober living house to seek help for her ongoing substance abuse and mental health issues at age 17.

Demi Lovato House: Toluca Lake

Demi currently lives in the Hollywood Hills, above Sunset Blvd in Los Angles.

Demi Lovato House Laurel Canyon

As of 2018, Demi Lovato resides in her home in the Laurel Canyon neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The pop icon purchased this three-story contemporary abode for a whopping $8.3 million back in fall 2017, but her move was delayed due to a landslide that led to the property being red-tagged and deemed unsafe for entry until a proper damage assessment was performed.

The 5,546 square-foot home consists of 4 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. Additionally, the home features a swimming pool, outdoor kitchen, and a spa.

On September 4, 2018, Demi listed the home for $9,495,000, over $1M more than she paid for it. It’s no secret that this is the home where she nearly died from an overdose in August 2018, so not a surprise that she’s ready to put this place behind her.

Demi Lovato House in Texas

In addition to her Los Angeles residence, Lovato also owns a home with her family in Dallas, Texas. The 3,259 square-foot home, located in the suburbs of Colleyville, Texas, is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house complete with a spa and swimming pool. The house was built in 1992 and was valued at a little under $400k as of 2009.

Demi Lovato House: Texas

Though Demi and her family spend the majority of their time in California, Miss Lovato has been reported to visit the home occasionally during trips to her hometown.

Demi Lovato Net Worth

Curious how much is Demi Lovato worth? Well, if current predictions are correct, she’s worth a whopping $33 million!

Does Demi Lovato have a Boyfriend?

Since finding stardom on the hit children’s television series Barney and Friends in 2002 at age 7, Texas native Demi Lovato has shared both stage and screen with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. In addition to her long list of famous co-stars, Lovato has also had a long and interesting assortment of famous romantic partners, including Joe Jonas and Wilmer Valderrama.

However, it is unknown whether or not she is currently dating.

Brief Sparks on Camp Rock

Lovato starred with a then 18-year-old Joe Jonas on the Disney channel original movie Camp Rock in which the future couple would actually share their first kiss on screen. How old was Demi Lovato in Camp Rock? A young 15!

Does Demi Lovato have a Boyfriend?

Though the fling only lasted around 2 months, Lovato claims that she fell head-over-heels in love with Jonas during that time and would even later go on to tour with Joe and fellow bandmates and brothers Nick and Kevin during their world tour.

Unfortunately, however, Lovato would be forced to drop out of the tour in 2010 and enter into rehab to seek treatment for what was reported as ‘emotional and physical issues’ that she was suffering from at the time. Lovato’s manager credits the Jonas Brothers for encouraging her to enter rehab, and Lovato and the band remain friends to this day.

On Again Off Again

At 17, Lovato would star in a 2010 census public service announcement alongside television star Wilmer Valderrama. She would later admit that she was already been smitten with the That 70’s Show star prior to meeting, which was also the sole reason she agreed to do the gig in the first place.

Does Demi Lovato have a Boyfriend?

However, despite harboring some strong feels for her major crush, the fact that there was a massive age gap between the two, with Lovato being only 17 and Valderrama 30, would force the pair to remain friends until Lovato became a legal adult at age 18 the following year. Since then, Lovato and Valderrama have maintained an on again off again romantic status until their actual split in 2016.

Being Content with Being Single

Currently, at age 25, Lovato is rocking a single status – and she’s made it abundantly clear that she’s okay with that. The songstress reports that her solo status has afforded her time to discover herself and learn more about what she really wants both in life and in love.

However, admirers of Lovato may not want to start writing their love letters to the singer just yet, since it’s been reported that Lovato and old flame Wilmer Valderrama were spotted out and about displaying some public affection back in Feb 2018.

What Is Heart Attack About by Demi Lovato?

Heart Attack was the first single off Lovato’s fourth studio album titled Demi. It was released in Feb 2013 and gained widespread success for the singer’s powerful vocals and the songs relatable lyrics.

When questioned about the meaning behind the song, Lovato explained that it is about the helpless vulnerability of falling in love and the fear of taking a risk and entrusting your heart to another person.

Seriously, who can’t relate to that?!

How Did Demi Lovato Get Famous?

Demi Lovato’s television depute was on the children’s television series Barney and Friends , where she starred as the bubbly youngster Angela from 2002 to 2004.

In 2007, she would be cast as Mitchie Torres in the Disney original movie Camp Rock . During Camp Rock’s production, Lovato would also record 3 songs for the film. Though Lovato grew much of her young fanbase through her Disney personas on various series and films for the network, she would reach the height of her fame through her music – releasing 6 studio albums, 33 singles, and two EPs since her musical debut.

Where Does Demi Lovato Shop for Clothes?

Though miss Lovato has been spotted perusing numerous clothing stores and boutiques around California, there are a few fashion havens she’s been favoring over the last few years, including:

Barneys New York – Beverly Hills

Originally founded in New York, New York, this American department store carries some of the most high-end, luxury brands in the fashion industry. Lovato has been spotted multiple times popping into the store for a day of shopping with friends.

American Apparel – Los Angeles

A North American distributor and manufacturer of styles aimed towards teens and young adults. Lovato was snapped by paparazzi in the past leaving the store with bags in hand. Unfortunately, however, if you were hoping to visit the store where Demi shopped, you’re out of luck. As of 2017, the franchise closed its doors and instead only distributes their goods through an online site by the same name. On the bright side, you can still shop like demi and you don’t even have to change clothes or put makeup on – woohoo!

Urban Outfitters – Los Angeles

Urban Outfitters is a highly popular clothing store that focuses mainly on bohemian style and hipster culture. Demi Lovato has been seen visiting the store and sporting the brand a lot throughout the years, but she’s not the only A-lister with a pension for Urban Outfitters, as other big names in Hollywood such as Gwen Stefani, Taylor Swift, and Rhianna have also been seen perusing their aisles as well.

Timeless – Los Angeles

Based out of L.A., Timeless is a boutique that offers the newest, hottest trends in the world of fashion. It also seems to be Demi Lovato’s favorite place for shopping excursions – since the star has been seen countless times strolling through Los Angeles with several bags adorning their cute, heart-shaped clock logo.

Why Did Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez Fight?

Since forming their bond on the series Barney and Friends in 2002, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez’s friendship has seen some serious highs and plummeting lows; however, like any good friends, the pair seem to always find their way back to one another.

Why Did Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez Fight?

Publicly speaking, the initial drama between Lovato and Gomez seemed to begin around 2010, when Gomez was spotted spending the majority of her spare time with new BFF Taylor Swift – and not Lovato. It would become apparent that this was a problem when Lovato would be quoted as saying “Ask Taylor” when reporters questioned her about how Gomez was doing. The pair would later reunite as chums following Lovato’s completion of rehab. They would even be snapped together arm-in-arm at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards that same year.

However, the blissful friendship would take another nosedive in 2014 when Lovato would mysteriously unfollow Gomez on both Twitter and Instagram. She would later explain her reason for cutting social media ties was due to the pair changing and growing apart, but Lovato was back to following Gomez’s social media profiles and praising her on-again-off-again bestie by August 2015.

Despite the pair’s rough patches, silent treatments, and snarky comments – Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez remain friends to this day, a fact which is evident by their frequent exchange of kind words and compliments via social media.

Is Demi Lovato Still Sober?

Sadly, Lovato relapsed and suffered a drug overdose on July 24, 2018. A 911 call was made from Lovato’s Hollywood Hills home at 11:22 am Tuesday morning requesting medical assistance for the 25-year-old singer. Lovato was rushed to the hospital where she is expected to make a complete recovery. A close source reported that Lovato was suffering from signs of an infection as well as a fever when she was hospitalized Tuesday. Further details regarding the overdose have yet to be disclosed, though reports indicate that it was likely heroin-related – which sources close to Lovato had previously denied. Her family, as well as Mr. Valderrama, have not left her side since her admittance to the hospital, and Lovato’s publicist recently released a statement from the family that Demi “is awake and with her family who wants to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support.”

Demi Lovato House

The child-star-turned-pop-sensation had openly spoken about her ongoing battle with Bi-Polar disorder, drug addiction, and eating disorders over the span of her career in her documentary “Simply Complicated.” Back in March, the singer cheerfully announced that she had been 6 years sober; however, 3 months later she released a song that spoke of relapsing.

Shortly before the overdose, she released a song called “Sober” which talked about not being sober anymore. Many people weren’t surprised by the OD given the recent song release.

As of the writing of this article, Demi is still in Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and is expected to be released at any time. Sources say she will go straight to a live-in rehab facility.

Demi Lovato attends the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards

In her cover story for American Way , pop star Demi Lovato recalls the steps that led up to her current worldwide stardom and influential power as a mental health advocate.

Lovato began her career in entertainment as a child, acting on Barney & Friends and competing in beauty pageants. “My body-image awareness started way before that,” said the pop star. “But I do attribute a little of my insecurities to being onstage and judged for my beauty.”

The artist recalls growing up in a home with a father who suffered from schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and alcoholism and a mother who was bulimic, which eventually passed down the family line to Lovato. “Being around somebody who was 80 pounds and had an active eating disorder … it’s hard not to grow up like that.”

With un-addressed body issues — Lovato began binge-eating and cutting herself at age 9 — on top of rising fame due to her role as Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock  at age 15, it was only natural that the young star’s insecurities grew, causing greater addictions. Once Lovato gained her own show on Disney Channel, Sonny with a Chance , along with a tour with the Jonas Brothers , the pop star had financial responsibility for her whole family, leading to self-medication for her problems in her private life through alcohol, cocaine and OxyContin.

“I lived fast and I was going to die young,” said Lovato. “I didn’t think I would make it to 21.”

Lovato recalls her first attempt at getting help by going to rehab in the Midwest. The short treatment diagnosed Lovato with bipolar disorder and helped treat her bulimia. Soon, Lovato went back to old habits. “Once I started eating again, the other issues got worse. It was like whack-a-mole.”

The pop star got help by living at a West Hollywood sober house for a year, and it was in that break from the spotlight that Lovato realized her responsibility to be an advocate for young girls with self-image issues and to raise awareness on mental illness.

“When I have meet-and-greets, I can’t tell you the amount of times that girls will show me their arms covered in scars or cuts,” said Lovato. “They’ll tell me, ‘You helped me get through this. Because of you, I stopped self-harming,’ or ‘I got sober.’ Hearing those things gave my life new meaning.”

Slash Says He Does 'Not Recall Any' of His First Gigs with Early Band: 'Such a Drunken Kind of Thing' (Exclusive)

Despite "not remembering" his shows with Slash's Blues Ball, the iconic guitarist recognizes how pivotal the experiences were in shaping his love of blues music

Chris Barilla is a Digital News Editor at PEOPLE. He has been working at PEOPLE since 2023. His work has previously appeared on Distractify, The Blast, and Entertainment Daily.

After the chart-topping release of his latest album, Orgy of the Damned , Slash is looking back at one of his earliest forays into blues music — but he admits that not a lot of memories from that time immediately come to mind.

In conversation with PEOPLE, the legendary Guns N' Roses guitarist opens up about "not remembering" the first time he went on the road with Slash's Blues Ball, the band he formed in 1996 in Los Angeles alongside Teddy "Big Bag Zig Zag" Andreadis, Johnny Griparic, Alvino Bennet, Bobby Schneck and Dave McLaurin.

According to Slash, copious alcohol consumption was the culprit behind the forgotten memories. "It was such a drunken kind of thing, and it was just for the fun of it," he shares. "I do not recall any of those gigs."

Mat Hayward/Getty

Diving into how Slash's Blues Ball came to be, he remembers, "When I first met them, a couple of the guys, they were playing in a band called The Screaming Cocktail Hour, which was a great blues band that used to play at the local Rogie's and Baked Potato and Cozy's and all these small little blues dives around L.A. And I would go and hang out with them and get there 10 or 11 o'clock at night and jam until two o'clock in the morning."

Eventually, after chopping it up with the aforementioned group of local blues musicians, Slash "started a band with two of the guys, and we called it Slash's Blues Ball"

"I got a couple of other guys," he adds, "And so we started doing the same circuit, but then that turned into an actual tour, and we did it for on and off for a couple of years, even managed to make it to Europe."

During the two years that Slash's Blues Ball was active from 1996 to 1998, the band did not release any recorded music, but performed covers of blues records live at various venues domestically and abroad.

For the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, all that matters is remembering "it was fun" touring and tapping into his love for the blues at the time.

Paul Natkin/Getty

"And fortunately, Teddy kept the set list, which gave us where I picked some of the songs from," he shares, referring to the tracklist of his current Billboard chart-topping Orgy of the Damned , a collection of classic blues covers reinterpreted by Slash and an all-star team including Iggy Pop , Chris Stapleton , Demi Lovato and more.

In support of Orgy of the Damned , and Slash's love for the blues as a whole, the artist is also embarking on the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival tour , which begins July 5 in Montana and ends Aug. 16 in Arkansas. During those tour dates, the award-winning musician says he's "looking forward to really being able to open up and play my a-- off for two hours every day for a couple months" while steadily tapping into his love for blues music alongside a team of hand-picked blues artists.

Referring to the experience working on the new album and tour, Slash adds, "I can't remember that much about the Blues Ball, but [S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival] is not the same as just a drunken club band that was just touring around for beer."
