Blackberry Smoke announce 2022 European tour dates

Blackberry Smoke will bring their You Hear Georgia album to Europe and The UK in February and March 2022

Georgia's finest Blackberry Smoke have announced a European tour for Spring 2022. The 22-date tour kicks off in Barcelona, Spain, on February 3, and climaxes in London just over a month later on March 6. Support on all dates comes from Nashville country rockers The Steel Woods, and tickets go on general sale at 9am local time this Friday June 4. Full dates below. 

Blackberry Smoke frontman Charlie Starr says, "We have been away too long, home too long, and it is past time to get back to the UK and Europe for some rock'n'roll shows with all of our brothers, sisters, friends and family there. We hope we see everyone out for these amazing shows!"

It'll be the first time the band have set foot on UK soil since they placed with Tedeschi Trucks Band at Wembley Arena in February 2020, a few weeks before lockdown. 

The news comes in the wake of the release of the band's latest studio album, You Hear Georgia , which came out on Friday. On the same day, the band released a video for foot-to-the-floor rocker All Over the Road  from the album.

Blackberry Smoke  have announced a UK/European headline tour, joined by special guests  The Steel Woods . The shows are in support of the band’s new album,  You Hear Georgia . 

“We have been away too long, home too long, and it is past time to get back to the UK and Europe for some rock n’ roll shows with all of our brothers, sisters, friends and family there,” says frontman/guitarist Charlie Starr . “We hope we see everyone out for these amazing shows!”

Blackberry Smoke announce 2022 UK dates

Atlanta, Georgia’s Blackberry Smoke have announced a string of UK shows, as part of a full European tour in early 2022, bringing their southern rockin’ sounds to these shores next February. Special guests on the tour are Nashville 4-piece, The Steel Woods. The band will be playing Birmingham, Glasgow, Belfast, Manchester and London, as well as Dublin.

Frontman & guitarist, Charlie Starr told us: “We have been away too long, home too long, and it is past time to get back to the UK and Europe for some rock n’ roll shows with all of our brothers, sisters, friends and family there. We hope we see everyone out for these amazing shows!”

If you haven’t managed to grab tickets via a pre-sale, they go on general sale from 9am tomorrow Friday June 4th from their official website here .

Last week the band released their Dave Cobb produced seventh studio album ‘You Hear Georgia’ via 3 Legged Records and our friends at Thirty Tigers. You can stream or purchase the album here , with a red/yellow marbled limited edition coloured vinyl edition exclusively available at UK indie stores, as well as various bundles and a red vinyl at the European D2C Store . The album features special guest appearances from Jamey Johnson (on Lonesome For A Livin’) and Warren Haynes (All Rise Again), as well as background vocals from The Black Bettys.

It follows the release of 2018’s ‘Find A Light’, which Rolling Stone described as “part of a lineage that shares a love of Petty, the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams Jr., able to ride an Americana vibe or peel off a stomping riff and tie it all together without a hint of pretense.”

Blackberry Smoke announce UK & Ireland tour dates for 2022

They're playing six shows next year

Blackberry Smoke have announced six UK & Ireland concerts for February and March 2022 as part of a much larger European trek.

The Atlanta, Georgia collective will bring their sumptuous southern rock sounds to Birmingham O2 Academy on Sunday 27th February 2022, and they will call in at Glasgow O2 Academy, Belfast Telegraph Building, Dublin Olympia and Manchester Academy before culminating at London Roundhouse on Sunday 6th March 2022.

The sextet of headline shows follow an extensive run of shows on mainland Europe earlier in the February. Support on all UK & European dates comes from Nashville four-piece The Steel Woods.

Tickets to the Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London concerts on Blackberry Smoke’s tour go on sale from Absolute Radio Country Tickets at 9am on Friday 4th June.

Today’s tour announcement follows the release of Blackberry Smoke’s seventh studio album ‘You Hear Georgia’ on Friday (28th May).

The record features 10 all-new songs – including the gems ‘All Over The Road’ and title track ‘You Hear Georgia’ - and it was produced by their fellow Georgian native, esteemed producer Dave Cobb (Rival Sons, Whiskey Myers, Lady Gaga).

‘You Hear Georgia’ also features special guest appearances from outlaw country musician Jamey Johnson (Lonesome For A Livin’) and Gov't Mule’s Warren Haynes (All Rise Again), together with background vocals from The Black Bettys.

As the title suggests, the songs on ‘You Hear Georgia’ pay homage to Georgia’s rich musical heritage and honour people, places and sounds of Blackberry Smoke’s beloved home state.

BLACKBERRY SMOKE have announced a string of UK shows, as part of a full European tour in early 2022. The Atlanta, GA based band are set to bring their southern rockin’ sounds to these shores next February. Special guests on the tour are Nashville 4-piece, The Steel Woods. Across the collection’s ten new songs, BLACKBERRY SMOKE continue to embody their native Georgia’s rich musical legacy as they have for the past two decades, honouring the people, places and sounds of their home state. With the added skills of producer Dave Cobb, a fellow Georgian, the album illustrates the band’s deep respect for their roots.

You Hear Georgia also features special guest appearances from Jamey Johnson (on Lonesome For A Livin’ ) and Warren Haynes ( All Rise Again ), as well as background vocals from The Black Bettys. 

You Hear Georgia follows the release of 2018’s Find A Light , which debuted at #12 on the Official UK Album Chart.
