Join us for the 21st Beaufort Homes for the Holidays annual event, featuring an easy walking tour of 7 incredible homes plus a “Cookie Cottage.” These unique homes, nestled in a delightful section of Historic Downtown Beaufort across from the Intracoastal Waterway, feature creative renovations, new construction and a wide variety of architectural styles. They will be professionally decorated for the holidays by local interior designers and talented artists. You will be inspired with many new and exciting ideas for creating your own Holiday Magic!
Featured tour designers include Sweet Bay-Maggie Engstrom, Tidal Creek Haven-Gillian Csernica & Courtney Tangalos, M-Lisa Mykleby, Outrageous Floral Design-Sally Hendricks, Liz McEnaney, Found for Home-Jennifer Hagenbugh, The Social Betty-Kelsey Bacon & Maleia Everidge, Nuances- Nancy Harris Vista & Laurie Thompson.
Home Tours will be held Saturday, November 19th from 11:00 until 3:00 and on Sunday, November 20th from 11:00 until 3:00. Tickets are $45 prior to November 19; $50 on the day of the tour. Tour tickets are available on our website starting in September at www.beauforthomesfortheholidays.com and at local area businesses beginning in October. Locations include: The Chocolate Tree, Sweet Bay, Tidal Creek Haven, The Kitchen, Dataw Island Pro Shop, Markel’s (Bluffton), and Saint Peter’s Catholic Church Office.

The Smith/Rugala Home Designer: Tidal Creek Haven – Gillian Csernica & Courtney Tangalos Home Sponsor: Low Country Insurance Tidal Creek Haven will create the ultimate cozy holiday cottage using their signature natural and welcoming elements with greenery and re-imagined traditional Christmas décor. Join us for the 22nd Beaufort Homes for the Holidays annual event featuring an easy walking tour of 6 incredible homes located in the Village of Distant Island, one of the premier waterfront communities in the Beaufort area. These stunning homes feature luxury coastal living at its finest. They will be professionally decorated for the holidays by local interior designers and talented artists. You will discover new and innovative ways of creating your own Holiday Magic!
Event Information
YOU WILL NEED TO EXCHANGE YOUR EVENTBRITE RECEIPT FOR YOUR SPECIFIED SATURDAY OR SUNDAY TOUR TICKET AT WILL CALL (tour parking/shuttle stop) LOCATED AT BEAUFORT HIGH SCHOOL, 84 SEA ISLAND PARKWAY, LADY’S ISLAND, SC
Shuttle buses will then transport you to the tour location on Distant Island. Buses will run every 10 minutes. No parking is accessible on Distant Island. Restrooms will be available at Beaufort High School and on Distant Island.
NO REFUNDS. Tour will proceed rain or shine. If you are unable to attend please consider your ticket a donation to St. Peter’s Catholic School.
Parking is only available at Beaufort High School, 84 Sea Island Parkway, Lady’s Island, SC. Shuttle buses will be provided. Buses will run every 10 minutes. There will be no parking on Distant Island. Restrooms will be available at both Beaufort High School & Distant Island.
Restrictions
– Please no children under 10 and no high heels.
– Camera and phone photography are NOT permitted in the homes.

Beaufort Holiday Art Walk
Time: 1pm – 5pm Location: begins at Mattie King Davis Art Gallery, 130 Turner St.
Time: 5pm – 8pm Location: begins at The Beaufort Historic Site, 130 Turner St.
Celebrate the season with a tour of private homes throughout Beaufort on a double-decker bus with carolers from local churches. Homeowners will open their doors so that the public can delight in their festive décor and decorations. The Beaufort Historic Site buildings will also be open.

Annual Historic Beaufort Candlelight Homes Tour
SIGNATURE EVENT: The Beaufort Historical Association will host the 16th Annual Historic Beaufort Candlelight Homes Tour that showcases Beaufort’s holiday hospitality and provides a rare glimpse into private historic homes, several inns, bed & breakfasts as well as churches, all elegantly decorated for the season. These private homes represent a wide variety of Beaufort’s unique architectural styles from different periods of the town’s history.
The creativity and imagination used to decorate theses residences is a real testament to the gracious hosts opening their homes for this holiday event. The fragrant greenery, dazzling ornaments, colorful candles, glittering tinsel and elaborate trees are sure to bring forth everyone’s holiday spirit. Ticketed Event.

Saturday & Sunday tickets may also be purchased on the days of the tour at will call located in the center of Habersham Marketplace.

10 Must Do Christmas Events in Beaufort
As the calendar flips to December, Beaufort has a full slate of holiday activities planned. Here are 10 of our favorites that are sure to put you in the holiday spirit.
1. Annual Night on the Town Celebration, December 7th
This opening of the holiday shopping season takes place on the closed off streets of downtown Beaufort with a big ol’ Christmas street party. Shops will stay open late to welcome regular and new customers with special treats. The evening features the City of Beaufort’s Tree Lighting Ceremony, entertainment by community organizations, schools, churches, dancers and a rumored visit from Santa.

2. The 2018 Festival of Trees, December 4th – 6th
One of Beaufort’s most beloved holiday celebrations, The Festival of Trees to benefit Friends of Caroline Hospice, continues a tradition that started more than 30 years ago. December 4 – 6, over 60 beautifully and whimsically decorated trees will be on display at Tabby Place in Downtown Beaufort.
The Celebration of Giving Gala, hosted among the trees on December 6, features music, wine, beer and lots of food from some of Beaufort’s best local restaurants. Do a little holiday shopping at the silent auction while you’re there.

3. Light Up the Night Christmas Boat Parade, December 8th
Delight in illuminated boats passing by the waterfront seawall as local residents ‘Light Up the Night’ at the annual holiday boat parade along the Beaufort River. This unique event is one of the many things that make the holidays extra-special here in Beaufort. Catch a little Lowcountry holiday spirit while sipping hot chocolate and cheering for your favorite boat.
4. Port Royal’s Annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade, December 7th
Nothing says Lowcountry like a parade of decorated golf carts. Join the Town of Port Royal for the 9th Annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade through the Old Village Streets. The route begins at Helena Place and will take you down Paris Avenue to Live Oak Park where there will be a Chili cook-off, kid zone, & more!
5. Beaufort’s Annual Christmas Parade, December 9th
Bring the whole family and enjoy the traditional Beaufort Christmas Parade through the streets of downtown Beaufort on Sunday December 9th at 3pm. You’ll see floats, marching bands, golf carts, and personal cars and trucks in the parade… all celebrating the holiday season. Keep your eye out for Santa himself with the Beaufort Fire Department.
6. Gullah Kinfolk Christmas Wish, December 7
The full-stage musical, “Gullah Kinfolk Christmas Wish” has become a local holiday favorite. Through soul-stirring, foot stopping singing and dancing, the audience is drawn into the excitement of the Yuletide season. It’s December of 1860, the last Christmas before the Civil War, Reconstruction is soon to come…Masters in the Big House talking about the war coming, Servants in the Quarters talking about freedom coming. Aunt Pearlie Sue & Gullah Kinfolk bring to life all the history of that long ago holiday season on the Sea Islands of historic Beaufort South Carolina.

7. Parris Island Marine Band Holiday Concert, December 8
Music lovers, make plans to join the Parris Island Marine Band for their Let the Bells Ring! Holiday Concert at Battery Creek High School’s Performing Arts Center on December 8 at 3:30pm. An annual favorite, the group will again be performing a variety of seasonal favorites in a magical concert that is free for all ages.
8. SNOW Day at the 31st Annual Festival of Trees, December 2nd.
This one’s for the kids… The Festival of Trees is hosting a SNOW day on Sunday, December 2nd from 11am – 2pm turning Tabby Place into a winter wonderland of real, fluffy, white snow. Bring your children downtown for a day of building snowmen, friendly snowball fights, face painting, and more. Elsa and Anna from Disney’s Frozen will also be there to enjoy talking with the kids and taking photos. In the Lowcountry, we typically don’t have snow to celebrate the holiday season, so don’t miss this chance.
9. Wreaths Across America at Beaufort National Cemetery, December 15th
Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and over 1400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad. Thousands of wreaths will be laid at the Beaufort National Cemetery starting at Noon.
10. Gingerbread 5K in Port Royal, December 8
Put on your favorite Santa hat, elf outfit, or any other holiday costume for the 2nd Annual Gingerbread 5K in Port Royal on Saturday, December 8. Run or walk through the beautiful Old Village and down to the Sands. Then celebrate your accomplishment with s’mores. For more information click here .

City of Beaufort Annual Christmas Parade
December 4, 2022 @ 3:00 pm.
What’s Christmas without a Christmas parade? On Sunday, December 4th, half of Beaufort turns out to enjoy the annual Beaufort Christmas Parade as it makes its way through the streets of historic downtown Beaufort starting at 3pm. Come see the holiday-themed floats, marching bands, fire trucks and lots more.
This year’s parade will feature the State Champion Beaufort High School Football Team and don’t miss Santa and performances by the Parris Island Marine Marching Band.
The parade follows the traditional Beaufort SC parade route from the Beaufort National Cemetery, along Boundary and Carteret Streets, then up Bay Street and finishes along Bladen Street.

The Old Beaufort Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 - 5 p.m. and is located on the grounds of the Beaufort Historic Site at 130 Turner Street. Tickets are now offline due to the high number of ticket sales. If you would like to purchase tickets, we ask that you please call our Welcome Center at (252)728-5225.
Home Tours will be held Saturday, November 19th from 11:00 until 3:00 and on Sunday, November 20th from 11:00 until 3:00. Tickets are $45 prior to November 19; $50 on the day of the tour. Tour tickets are available on our website starting in September at www.beauforthomesfortheholidays.com and at local area businesses beginning in October.
December 4, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Come celebrate Christmas Port Royal style! Twelve buildings and homes on the tour. Docents at each location will give guided tours and guests can enjoy and get great Christmas decorating ideas! Refreshments and entertainment provided at the last stop, featuring a quaint bohemian "she shed!".
Celebrate Christmas Port Royal Style! A delightful mix of twelve beautifully decorated historic homes, newly constructed homes, historic buildings, and a unique bohemian style "she-shed". Refreshments and entertainment provided at the end of the tour. Golf cart transportation will be available. Tickets are limited and $40 each.
The Beaufort Historic Site buildings will also be open. While the tour is walkable, the double-decker bus will be stopping on a route and dropping folks off. Tickets are now sold out.
