My 2 yr old did not like it there, they called me often to puck her up when she was crying wich tells me that they are under staffed and under trained. They seem nice at first, but something is off.
Our son and daughter both attend ACJMS and we love it and so do they. We have been there for almost a year now and have had nothing but a positive experience. They also offer parent nights out from time to time which is awesome!
A Child's Journey has been so incredible! My son and daughter immediately felt right at home and have been nurtured in every stage of their development. All day top notch childcare with a curriculum and freshly prepared meals provided. I know that everything is taken care of and children are safe and happy and well cared for. Before age two they have showed me sign language they learned from their incredible teachers who feel like an extension of our family. My son is well above grade level after he has graduated from their pre-k. Now my daughter tells me about jazz music she is learning about, history, geography, etc. I appreciate everyone at the school for your amazing care of our children!
We've really had a great experience here. Our son loves, not only his teacher, but the office staff and chef too. He's made so many friends and is very excited to go to school in the morning. The facility has always been very clean and the staff is easily available to address any needs we have. They are more than willing to accommodate his food sensitivities and really listened to understand our son as an individual. I can't say enough good things about his teacher, Ms. Julie. She truly is a rare gem and has been an invaluable gift to our son. She knows every child uniquely and cares about each of them. She does an incredible job encouraging the children to learn and explore while setting boundaries. We're so delighted to see how much he's grown and know that much of it is a direct result of Ms. Juile's unrelenting effort and dedication to her class. ACJS is the right fit for our son and we feel very fortunate to have found it!
My daughter started ACJMS when she was 7 months old in the infant room (up to 1 year). At 1 year, she moved into the 12m-18m classroom. She wore a helmet for cranial therapy and has a peanut and dairy allergy. The teachers and staff have cared for my daughter and provide continual updates through their app where we can communicate throughout the day. They're always a phone call away if ever needed. I don't know how they remember every child's name but it's welcoming to drive up to pick up my daughter and they are already grabbing her from the classroom. Xyla has been happy at the school and is able to interact with the other kids. They're covid protocols are fair and we thankfully haven't had any cases as the school.

I cannot say enough good things about ACJMS. Ms. Linda has been so accommodating and kind throughout our time here. And the teachers here are absolutely AMAZING! They have all gone above and beyond. Some things I appreciated as a parent 1) the level of communication that happened between teachers, staff and parents 2) the care that the teachers provided to develop social and emotional growth 3) following a play based curriculum for the younger age groups (Reggio Emilia/Montessori approaches)

Thank you Farhana.. we use Tadpoles as our communication with parents to teachers as well as have parent teacher conferences twice a year.
Absolutely a money driven school. No moral there. Be very careful to deal with that owner and a few staffs on the front desk, their goal is collecting your tuition only, they DON'T care about your kids and their parents! True story, since they ONLY pull money out of the parents' bank accounts, I had to call my bank three times to make sure my bank has permanently blocked their ACH. Amazingly enough, that owner was still trying to pull money from my bank account three months after my son left her school!

Upon enrollment each parent is set up on a tuition contract through their bank and set up auto pay. We ask that parents give a 30 day notice of dis-enrollment so we are able to stop auto pay and tuition contract dissolved. In addition this auto pay is set up by both the school and the parents. Parents can stop the auto pay at anytime through their personal banks.
Our daughter has attended for the last two years. She receives individual attention and any call to come retrieve has been under well reasonable reasons (fever, vomiting, etc). The education and social skills experience has been a boon to her overall learning experience. Any communication problems have been easily cleared up by either ensuring both parents are in sync or having a sit down with the teacher/admin in question. I am one of those that drop off consistently between 8:45 and 9:15 as I let our child sleep as long as she needs these first years of her life. Each class has a wonderful structure and maintains a good child to teacher ratio. At times someone calls in or there are circumstances out of control. It's important to understand these individuals make our children laugh and help them learn every day. Parent teacher nights are super informative, go to them!
We absolutely love ACJMS! Our 3.5 and 1 year old have been going for over a year and I cannot say enough positives things about the school and the teachers. Everyday I can see what the kids are up to and what they are working on in class through an app. But also the kids come home and talk about what they learned because of how much fun they are having. The teachers is hands down the most loving and caring people around. They genuinely care about your child and what is best for them. They will come to you and talk about things that are going on and how to partner together to improve things. Again, I could rave about the school all day! Thank you ACJMS for loving my kiddos as much as I love them!!
Hi Ashley, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for A Child's Journey School. We are happy to hear that you and your two children have had such a positive experience with us. We strive to create a welcoming, caring, trustworthy environment for all of the children and we are thrilled to know that this has also been your experience. We are so happy you mention our loving and caring teachers. Families like yours are why we do what we do, and we could not imagine ACJMS without you. Thank you for being a part of our family. When we started our six-month-old son on his two-month journey at ACJS we loved the infant room initially. We initially found that the staff was responsive and caring to all of the kids. His second month at the school brought more children to the infant room and they were at capacity. The school decided to start kicking him out regularly because of his poop. We took our son to 3 doctors who all said that he is fine and was not suffering from an infection. They cleared him for readmission to the school and gave us a note which directed the school to make reasonable accommodation for his minor digestive disability. My wife and I attempted to request the reasonable accommodation both in person and in writing and the director of the school refused our request and would not deviate from her illness policy. After that we decided that it would be best if he stopped attending the school and we flew my mother in law into town to take care of him. I started looking for another caregiver at that time. I should emphasize that finding a new caregiver with an infant needing immediate enrollment is EXTREMELY difficult as you do not have the option of getting on a waiting list. Nevertheless, I was persistent and I ended up lucking out finding a fantastic in-home daycare. The teacher/owner is much more responsive to his needs and is willing to customize his care as necessary. The ages range of the other children has been great! Our son loves the attention he gets from the other kids who are all so sweet and love him so much. Every time I pick him up he is smiling and giggling and all the other kids are having a blast. The ACJS experience was extremely stressful and distressing for my wife who ACJS had convinced that my son was sick. It also was extremely difficult on both of us professionally, especially my wife as we were constantly having to take off work because of him getting kicked out and having to take him to wasted Dr. Appointments. Ironically, it turns out that his digestive issues went away as soon as he left ACJS.
The Department of Early Learning (DEL) uses regulations also know as rules, washington administrative code or WAC to oversee child care licensing. Omsk Oblast
- Edit source
The flag of Omsk Oblast is a rectangular cloth of three vertical bands of equal size: the right and left red and white medium. In the centre of the white band, there is a blue vertical wavy azure pole which is 1/3 of its width.
The ratio of the flag's width to its length is 2:3.
The interpretation of symbols [ ]
The main background of the flag of Omsk Oblast is red. It symbolizes bravery, courage, fearlessness. It is the colour of life, charity, and love.
The white symbolizes nobility, purity, justice, generosity, and indicates the climatic features of Siberia.
The wavy azure (blue) post symbolizes the Irtysh River, the main waterway of the oblast. Allegorically, the blue reflects beauty, majesty, and gentleness.

The Top 12 Things to Do in Omsk
Feel the love in the very heart of Russia
In Russia, all roads lead to Moscow , on account of the city's status as the national capital and its importance throughout history. If geography were the deciding factor, however, the Siberian city of Omsk would be the point where all Russia's roads converge—it's located literally in the heart of the country, approximately as far from Vladivostok as it is from the Belarusian border. Omsk boasts a spate of exciting attractions, even if you simply make a stop here as you ride the Trans-Siberian Railway eastward or westward.
Marvel at Assumption Cathedral
Chelsea Hicks/Flickr/CC BY 2.0
Orthodox architecture never gets old, even if you've been traveling in Russia for a long time. This is particularly the case when it comes to the Assumption Cathedral of Omsk, whose gold-and-turquoise domes look resplendent under the blue skies that bless Omsk during the warmer months of the year. The cathedral was built in 1891 under the orders Nicholas, the last Tsar of Russia.
Time Travel at Omsk Fortress
Ogg-omsk/Wikimedia Commons/CC BY-SA 3.0
The bad news? Much of what was once Omsk Fortress is now a residential area, with the only notable landmark that still stands being Tobolsk Gate (think Paris' Arc de Triomphe , but yellow and smaller). The good news? There's essentially no reason for a military fortification to exist in today's peaceful Omsk, which means you can stroll amid parks and cafés and imagine the area being war-torn—a small sacrifice to make in exchange for not being blown to bits.
Go Green at Ptich'ya Gavan'
Forinrap/Wikimedia Commons/CC BY-SA 4.0
Or white, as it were: Omsk is covered with snow several months of the year, which means that its prized Ptich'ya Gavan' central park is often more of a winter wonderland than the green reprieve you experience in summer. The park is popular with local families, to whom you can say "Privet" (Hello) as you walk past.
Walk on Omsk's Artsy Side
G0rn/Wikimedia Commons/CC BY 3.0
Although the building that houses Omsk District Museum of Visual Arts is unmistakably Russian, the collection you find inside is surprisingly eclectic for a city deep in Russia's interior. Recent collections have included a revival of Van Gogh's great works, among others. This is a particularly enjoyable Omsk attraction on cold winter days, when temperatures can drop far below freezing and sunshine can be rare.
Shoot for the Moon
Worldwide Planetarium Database
Though Omsk is a relatively large city, the skies over it become dark enough in the evening for stargazing. While visitors are not permitted to use the expensive telescopes housed inside, exhibits inside the museum provide a fascinating look into the cosmos, narrated by expert astronomical guides.
Shop on Lenin Street
yykkaa/Getty Images
Lenin Street's name is appropriate: Although it's the high street of a city thousands of miles from Moscow, the European-style architecture and cosmopolitan vibe you feel as you stroll past its boutique and cafés evokes the capital of Russia more than its forlorn interior. Local specialties you can purchase here include rustic jams made from local berries (and even, in some shops, cedar cones), as well as handmade rugs from Kazakhstan, which sits just south of Omsk.
Sample Siberian Cuisine
Quynh Anh Nguyen/Getty Images
Speaking of unique Siberian food, it's not just preserves made from the fruits of evergreen trees. Omsk is a great place to discover the flavors of Russia's wild interior, whether you eat zagutai and stroganini (Siberia's take on sushi) or classic Russian plmeni dumplings filled with decidedly Siberian ingredients, such as bear and rabbit meat. Vkusno ! (That's Russian for "delicious"!)
Enjoy Historical Houses—While You Still Can
Simon Richmond/Getty Images
The wooden houses that line Nikolskiy Prospekt aren't protected, but they should be. Historical structures that are unfortunately in a state of disrepair, these houses are slated for demolition at some unspecific point in the future. Be sure to catch a glimpse of these historical house before they're gone. There will, however, be at least one left standing for a long time. The Omsk State Art Museum is in a traditional wooden house.
Go to the Circus
Vladislav Domnich/Getty Images
Omsk State Circus is a popular spot for local families, whose children love the opportunity to see acrobatic performances and animals that wouldn't otherwise make appearance in Siberia. If you do attend a show here, keep in mind that ethics with regard to animal treatment might not match up with those in North America or Western Europe, to say nothing of the smell that can pervade the auditorium during and even after a show.
Be a Drama Queen
While there's no guarantee that any shows will be playing at Omsk Drama Theater at the time of your trip, a visit to this 19th century building is a spectacle in and of itself. While not as huge, say, as Moscow's Bolshoi Theatre, it's nonetheless an ornate architectural wonder that hearkens back to a glorious time in history. The interior of the theater is even open during the daytime; ask the person who's inside if any tours are available when you turn up.
Explore Cities Deeper in Siberia
Tuul & Bruno Morandi/Getty Images
Siberia starts in Omsk, even if you can't continue far into it. If you don't plan to travel on the Trans-Siberian Railway, take one of two day trips from Omsk. Travel to Tobolsk, whose hilltop Kremlin is one of the most picturesque in all of Russia, and whose beauty inspired a photo by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev that ended up winning several awards. Or visit Tomsk, where you'll find a botanical garden dedicated to Siberian flora, and a museum that celebrates wooden architecture.
Ride the Trans-Siberian Railway
lvinst/Getty Images
The idea of leaving Omsk behind can seem difficult, especially now that you've gotten to know this city in the heart of Siberia as well as you have. The mint-colored facade of Omsk Railway Station will make you smile, however, even if you're crying inside as you depart. Though it's not quite on the mid-line of the Trans-Siberian route between Moscow and Beijing , Omsk is a worthy starting place to begin a journey to either. If you head east make sure to stop in Irkutsk , the home of Lake Baikal and another underrated Siberian city.

Great things to say about this Kirkland, WA School
Our twin boys started going to the school when they turned two and have now attended ACJS for a year and a half. We only spoke swedish to them at home so when they started they knew very little English. After just a few days they were totally fine with us leaving them there. The other day I came to pick them up and Miss Tiffan (one of their teachers) asked me what “älskar dej” means. I said it means love you in swedish. Apparently she had used the words to comfort one of my boys that day. I asked her how she knew what to say and her reply was that she had heard me say it. My heart melted due to the fact that she was able to comfort my boy with words she overheard me say to him and his brother.
Our boys have over the years attended 4 of the 8 classrooms at ACJS and everyone of the teachers have been amazing!
Very friendly teachers. They create a welcoming atmosphere in the classroom. The multi-age classroom was great for my daughter and she learned a lot in a few months
My son has been going to A Child’s Journey school since 6mo old. He started out in the Sunflowers room and is currently in the Ducklings room. We all just love Ms Pota and Ms Tina, they are so sweet and I always get good feedback from them on how he’s doing. When I first started looking for daycare it was difficult, a lot were full and others required full time or were extremely expensive. I looked hard at several Montessori schools. When I walked into the infant room at A Child’s Journey I breathed a sigh of relief. It felt so relaxing, low lights and no “prison cribs”. The teachers there were so great with the babies and I felt comfortable leaving him there. Linda is doing a great job so far and we are happy with everything he’s learning. The rates are super reasonable and it’s been so nice to have flexible days.
This is our first time using all-day daycare. We were amazed by how much our toddler loves it. He looks forward to going, always seems happy there and even NAPS for two hours (something he doesn’t do at home!) The teachers in the duckling room are lovable and caring with our kiddo and we are grateful for their attention. I appreciate the Montessori approach and the large outdoor area. Our kiddo is very active and I want this encouraged as much as possible.

Our boys have over the years attended 4 of the 8 classrooms at ACJS and everyone of the teachers have been amazing! Very friendly teachers. They create a welcoming atmosphere in the classroom. The multi-age classroom was great for my daughter and she learned a lot in a few months. My son has been going to A Child's Journey school since 6mo old.
