How Long Does It Take to Go Through Miracle Garden Dubai?

One of the most striking facts about Dubai is that the Miracle Garden is the world’s largest natural flower garden.

Plan at least 3 to 4 hours for your visit to the garden . This will give you enough time to take in the spellbinding beauty of the flower arrangements, have a bite, and explore all the other attractions.

Is It Free to Enter Miracle Garden Dubai?

The entrance fee for Dubai Miracle Garden starts at 75 AED ($20.50) for adults and 60 AED ($16.30) for children between 3 and 12 years. Children under 3 years can enter for free (ID is required).

Our recommendation is to book a tour of both the flower garden and the nearby butterfly garden. In this way, you can hit two travel birds with one stone and maximize your time in Dubai.

What to Wear in Miracle Garden Dubai?

As you already know, the garden is gigantic.

What you might not know is that it’s in the middle of the desert. That’s why we suggest you wear something comfy and lightweight, and pack your sturdiest shoes . Shorts and skirts are fine, but since the U.A.E. is a Muslim country, you won’t be allowed to enter in your swimsuit.

Other items that will make your visit a breeze include a cap/hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and an umbrella to cover yourself from the sun.

What’s the Best Time to Visit Dubai Miracle Garden?

Unlike other landmarks in U.A.E.’s largest city, Dubai Miracle Garden is open only during the winter months . If you don’t want to miss this miraculous attraction , plan your visit to Dubai between November and March , so you can admire the flowers in full bloom.

The reason Dubai Miracle Garden is not open during summer is that it’s way too hot for flowers to thrive. In fact, it’s blistering hot for people as well.

So, we recommend you avoid Dubai , Abu Dhabi , and the rest of the U.A.E. in July and August.

The garden’s opening hours are from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM during weekdays, and from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM during the weekends.

If you want to skip the crowds, plan your trip in the early morning during the weekdays.

We recommend this 4-hour Flora and Fauna Tour that includes visits to both Miracle Garden and Butterfly Garden. Book your tickets in advance via the button below:

Is It Allowed to Bring Food to Dubai Miracle Garden?

You’re not permitted to bring your own food and drinks in the garden. Inside, you’ll find numerous stalls that sell a wide range of food and beverages.

Are Cameras Allowed in Miracle Garden?

Professional cameras and drones are not permitted inside the garden . You can take photos with your smartphone, though. So, make sure to bring it with you.

Your Ultimate Guide to Visiting Dubai Miracle Garden

Dubai Miracle Garden

Visiting the Dubai Miracle Garden was one of my favorite activities during my recent trip to Dubai.

Prior to my visit I had read a lot about the garden and was really excited to see it in person. After a rather lengthy visit I can confirm, it did not disappoint.

What I enjoyed most was walking around the garden right after opening and having the place to myself for a bit before others showed up.

As you can see from the photos throughout this post, I was able to enjoy most of the exhibits without anybody else around.

I also enjoyed the creativity of the floral displays here. You’ll find everything from cats to castles to jets, and even Smurfs and ballerinas.

Aside from flower displays, Dubai Miracle Garden also offers entertainment and shopping options, such as parades, photo booths, bazaars, play zones, and fitness programs.

Dubai Miracle Garden is a huge botanical garden that offers attractions and activities. There’s a beautiful flower display in the area anywhere you turn your head to, as well as other exciting activities you can participate in. Here are some of the things you can do inside Dubai Miracle Garden.

See Life-Size and Giant Attractions

Dubai Miracle Garden Aerial View

The main highlight of Dubai Miracle Garden is its collection of life-size, giant, and record-breaking floral displays. The outdoor area of the garden houses multiple displays with different themes. Here are some attractions you shouldn’t miss as you explore the area:

  • Emirates A380 – the world’s largest floral sculpture inspired by the world’s largest aircraft
  • Floating Lady – a new installation depicting a floating lady dressed in flowers
  • Teddy Bear – a huge teddy bear display made with flowers and grass
  • Floral Clock   – a 15-meter floral clock made of plants and flowers. The display’s mechanical parts were brought in from the United States.
  • Mickey Mouse – an 18 meter-high sculpture of the Disney character. It currently holds the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Topiary Structure.
  • Inverted Volkswagen Car – an upside-down floral sculpture of a Volkswagen car. The display also has a waterfall flowing downwards.
  • Ford’s Model-T Car – a collection of classic Ford’s Model-T Cars adorned with different varieties of flowers.

Aside from the biggest and main floral displays in Dubai Miracle Garden, visitors can also visit and take photographs of other life-size 3D displays in the form of humanoid ants, giant floral mushrooms, flowery thoraxes, rose-laden swans, and flower-powered cars. The garden introduces new themed displays when there are special events or public holidays.

Walk Through Themed Floral Avenues

Dubai Miracle Garden Umbrella Tunnel

Dubai Miracle Garden has different floral areas and flower fields following a specific theme. We highly recommend visiting the Sunflower Field, which houses millions of blooming sunflowers planted throughout the flower beddings of the garden, following the face of the sun in Dubai.

For kids and kids at heart, drop by the spacious Disney Avenue, which features topiary sculptures of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Pluto, Goofy, and other classic Disney characters.

If you want to explore different kinds of vibrant flowers, climb the Flower Hill. It’s a man-made, mini hill made of millions of flowers in different colors and varieties— petunias, marigolds, sunflowers, and geraniums.

Other themed areas you can visit are the Elephant Fountain, Butterfly Passage, Ants Colony, Romantic Sculpture, Floral Diva, Butterfly Windmills, Floral Castles, and Flower Fort.

Watch Live Parades and Performances

You can see more than just static floral displays with your Dubai Miracle Garden tickets. There’s a scheduled Flower Parade every day carrying floral floats and local street performers in colorful costumes. Moreover, there’s a flower dance at the auditorium during regular night events weekly. The auditorium can house hundreds of spectators in one go. Due to its size, Dubai Miracle Garden also opens the auditorium for creative and cultural events, theatrical performances, and celebrity visits.

Participate in Fitness and Physical Activities

family yoga

If you want to maximize your stay and be part of the local community, we recommend participating in morning and group fitness activities at Dubai Miracle Garden . The management schedules Zumba and yoga sessions for child and adult visitors or even an entire family. The yoga sessions are hosted by instructors from Yoga Ashram, one of the leading yoga studios in Dubai.

Go Floral Shopping

To remember and commemorate your visit, buy floral-themed items or other souvenirs at the souvenir shops, kiosks, and bazaars spread throughout Dubai Miracle Garden . The souvenir shop sells items inspired by the themes in the garden, while the kiosks offer sweets and confectionery. At the same time, the bazaars feature small businesses selling abayas , arts and crafts, local delicacies, and fashion accessories.

Final First-Timer Tips to Visiting Dubai Miracle Garden

Dubai Miracle Garden is a huge tourist attraction sheltering sensitive plants and flowers. As a first-time visitor of such attractions, make sure you follow all the policies and rules inside the garden, especially the no-picking and no-stepping rules. These rules are in place to protect the flowers and preserve the displays.

To make the most out of your Dubai Miracle Garden tickets , we recommend spending at least half a day in the garden to see all attractions and try some engaging activities. Locals and frequent visitors recommend exploring the area in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction to see all the floral displays.

What to Do After Visiting Dubai Miracle Garden

Dubai Miracle Garden is the largest natural garden in Dubai and in the world. It’s one of a kind. But if you wish to visit more attractions that can offer similar and equally enjoyable experiences, we recommend heading to Dubai Butterfly Garden , the world’s largest covered butterfly garden, after your visit. For more activities fit for a nature lover, plan a trip to Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary or Dubai Heritage and Diving Village .

The Dubai Miracle Garden- why you must visit

I’m sure you would not normally expect to find a huge flower miracle garden right in the middle of the desert. Being about the Dubai desert , things are totally different.

Here, it’s not impossible to imagine yourself strolling through millions of petunias to which you get to only after crossing some sand dunes.

Where the only plants that would survive are cacti. The city of the Emirates has repeatedly proved, and at any occasion, that no project is unrealistic.

No matter how bold, it can successfully compete with Alice’s Wonderland in Lewis Caroll’s story.

What I use every time I travel:

  • To book hotels: Booking.com
  • To book tours:  GetYourGuide.com

It’s probably not the first time you hear about the Miracle Garden in Dubai , and maybe you’ve already made plans to get here or maybe you’ve already been.

Whatever it is, I want to tell you how a visit to the garden looks like. And why you should not miss it when you have a trip to the UAE.

I myself was so impressed that I even included it on Dubai’s list of Instagrammable places .

Probably also because an important event of my life has happened here. But that is another story I’ve already told you in a previous article .

What to expect when visiting Dubai Miracle Garden

Being relatively close to each other, I recommend visiting Miracle Garden on the same day with the  Global Village , a huge complex of country representations from around the world, another attraction that you should add to your itinerary.

The garden is an open space with very few shadowed places. So, it’s best to get here in the morning, when temperatures are a bit more permissive.

And when you also can take great pictures, and choose to spend the afternoon exploring over 70 countries at the Global Village .

Right from the beginning, I want to warn you about the expectations that you could have before coming here.

Although it is a fascinating, beautiful place, Dubai Miracle Garden has nothing in common with a botanical garden.

Even if the flowers are as natural as possible, the structures on which they are placed and the perfect symmetry make this place look artificial and exaggerated at first glance.

But this exaggeration effect makes Dubai Miracle Garden so loved.

Heart-shaped flowers, butterflies covered with flowers, teddy bears, flower-covered houses, and an Emirates Airbus A380 in natural size. Each inch of which is covered with flowers.

The best thing is that a part of the decoration changes from one season to another.

So, every time you choose to come here, you can admire a completely different arrangement than the one before.

   A Guinness World Records project

Although the variety of flower species is not very large, most of them are petunias, the color range is impressive, but also the number of plants which included the Dubai Miracle Garden in the Book of Records in 2016, for the largest flower arrangement in the world. Approximately 45 million.

It’s a real pleasure to wander the alleys and admire the surroundings.

This, while thinking about the impressive efforts that have to be done in order to keep the millions of flowers alive in the suffocating heat of the desert.

Each flower species has special care, and certainly, the maintenance costs are extremely high. The cost of the project was equally high.

11 million US dollars was the total cost by the time the Garden was officially opened in 2013, right on Valentine’s Day.

A proof that it was thought from the beginning to be a romantic project, dedicated mainly to couples. However, the garden is also a preferred place for children who enjoy the recently opened Butterfly Garden.

Although Miracle Garden is closed in the summer months, when temperatures are unbearable, heat is quite present for the rest of the year as well. It may become even more uncomfortable with the crowd.

Therefore, I recommend staying away from the weekends, which in the Emirates, means Friday and Saturday. Instead, come here on the weekdays.

Also, if you feel the need to hydrate during the visit or want a quick snack to have the power to explore for 2.3 hours, you will be glad to find out that there is also a food court in the garden, covered with a ceiling made of colorful umbrellas.

How Did Dubai Miracle Garden Come About?

Dubai Miracle Garden is a garden that was created by the Dubai government. It was designed to provide people with an opportunity to experience the beauty of nature, as well as to promote environmental conservation and sustainability.

The inspiration for Dubai Miracle Garden came from a visit by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE) in 2000. He saw a beautiful garden in Singapore, which he described as “a place where one could find peace and tranquility”.

Dubai Miracle Garden is located in Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum City. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and admission is free of charge

Dubai has been known to be one of the most luxurious, extravagant cities in the world. However, it has suffered from a downturn in tourism after its economy collapsed.

Dubai’s Miracle Garden is an example of how Dubai is trying to save tourism through creativity and innovation. It was created by landscape designer Mohammad Ali Alabbar and his team to create a space that would be filled with life and happiness.

This essay argues that Dubai’s Miracle Garden will not save tourism because it does not address the underlying problems of the economy or offer a sustainable solution for future generations.

22 Reasons To Visit The Dubai Miracle Garden

My 2018 travels

One of my favourite places in Dubai is the Dubai Miracle Garden. It’s been around since Valentine’s Day 2013, however, I only became aware of it on my last trip to the city. As soon as I saw photos on Instagram of these humongous flower gardens I knew it was a place I would love. We happened to visit on Valentine’s Day too and although it was much busier than I’d anticipated for middle of the week, I still loved it.

Some areas of the garden were full of people and you had to wait a while for a photo but much of the gardens was empty of people. It’s as if the tourist only wanted to walk around the centre of the garden. Much to my surprise too there were plenty of food and drink outlets among the gardens making you want to spend longer there and just enjoy a coffee and the view.

I could use hundreds of words to describe the Dubai Miracle Gardens to you but I’m going to leave it to the photos to do the describing.

All you need to know is that it costs around £9 to enter and you’ll need a car or taxi to get there as it’s located out in the Motor City area of Dubai. Find out more here .

Visiting the Dubai Miracle Gardens : is it even worth it tho?

visiting the dubai miracle garden on a limited budget

For some odd reason, one that I have yet to figure out, I keep ending up in gardens when I travel. Literally, every single freaking time, no matter how out of place. Alaska? Garden. Palm Springs? Garden. The Bahamas? Garden. I could climb Mt Everest and SOMEHOW, my weird self would find some typa garden to pop into. And the crazy thing is, I don’t even really like gardens. Bees are obsessed with me, my eyes are sensitive to sunlight, and tbh – flowers are kind of unexciting. They can’t even do backflips. But, time and time again, there I am, waist-deep in flowers. So it should come as no surprise that while visiting the United Arab Emirates, in the middle of a literal DESERT, I found myself visiting the Dubai Miracle Gardens.

Like freakin’ clockwork.

I went ahead and put all of the details about visiting the Dubai Miracle Gardens in this post – including if it’s even worth the visit.

But First –

A garden in the desert? WHERE THEY DO THAT AT??

why visit dubai miracle garden

When I visit heard about the Dubai Miracle Gardens, I was pretty shocked. And it isn’t like the cactus gardens over in Palm Springs either. There were supposed to be like – REAL FLOWERS. The kind with like, petals and stuff.

HOW SWAY???

I mean, doesn’t Dubai get to “boiling eggs on the pavement” temperatures in the summer? Wouldn’t all the plants just die?

Well, my initial assumption was correct. They indeed would just die. BUT – only in the summer. So between the months of May-ish through November the Dubai Miracle Gardens are closed. Which makes a lot of sense, biologically speaking. The park closes for roughly 6 months in the summer in order to protect the plants. However, the Dubai Miracle gardens open up again during the cooler months, mid-November through May-ish..  Since my trip to the UAE fell in the month of November, I was in the clear to visit! You should double-check on the website for the most up-to-date operating hours because they change!

How to get there

why visit dubai miracle garden

In the most tragic mistake I made during a week-long trip to the UAE was that I did not rent a car for the entire time. If I could go back in time, I would have booked a rental car the second I bought my plane ticket. I will eventually write a guide on why you should rent a car in Dubai, but for now just know that Dubai is very big and very spread out, kind of similar to Los Angeles. It’s just easier, cheaper, and more convenient to drive. ESPECIALLY if you’re trying to make it out to the Dubai Miracle Gardens – which, by the way, is about 25 minutes from the Dubai Mall area. The parking is open and free, and they recently renovated the parking facilities to accommodate 2,000 cars.

The second most convenient way would be to just catch a taxi or rideshare. It takes about the same amount of time as driving yourself, plus waiting time. The cost will be about AED 40 – 45 ($11-$15 USD). I was able to use UBER just fine in the UAE.

By Public Transport

It’s…messy. I know, because I tried to get there. To be fair, I was attempting to get there from Old Dubai. An EASIER method I learned after the fact : there is a direct bus line (route 105) from Mall of the Emirates to the Dubai Miracle Garden. It takes about 25 minutes and I believe it runs 2pm-8pm on workdays and 12pm-10pm on Friday and Saturday. The cost is about AED 5 ($1.5 USD)

So. Pick your poison. Or…should I say…pesticide….

Is it too early in the day for garden puns?

This part is pretty straight forward. From their website, here is the cost of single entry. If you would like to schedule a group trip, you can contact their contact our group sales team. They even can arrange something special for birthdays, anniversaries, or even proposals! All that contact info is found on their website. For everyone else, here are the prices!

On that note, the gardens were overall pretty accessible mobility wise. All of the sections that I saw had ramp access, though I didn’t get a look at the restrooms.

General Garden Overview

why visit dubai miracle garden

I MEANNNN. It’s a garden. So expect lots of flowers. But, since this is Dubai, multiply the grandeur by at least 100. Like, it literally earned its THIRD Guinness Record of “World’s Largest Topiary Garden,” Along with the world’s largest topiary installation (a to-scale PLANE), and the tallest topiary installation. The Garden was started about five years ago in 2013, and it’s been flourishing ever since. Growing as in, 150 MILLION flowers – and growing. Talk about a growth sprout!

Okay sorry, I couldn’t help the puns. Moving on.

To paint a basic picture for you, let me describe the garden. Instead of -yanno- POSTING a picture that would show the exact thing, like any sensible travel blogger.

It’s basically a GIANT lot with no shade and tons of flowers. Well, okay, there’s a tiny bit of shade along the perimeter near the cafes and food stands. Visiting the Dubai Miracle Gardens is like going through a corn maze…er, but with flowers. Every year there are new themes incorporated into the garden so that the park is never the same experience.

is there shade at the dubai miracle gardens

The Dubai Miracle Gardens also scored a licensing deal with Disney, so there will be some familiar faces. Fun fact, the giant Mickey Mouse is the piece that earned the coveted world’s tallest topiary installation. Well, I don’t know if anyone else was necessarily aiming for it, BUT DUBAI GOT IT.

Okay, I’ll shut up now and share the pictures.

why visit dubai miracle garden

I would say you should probably expect to spend an hour or so just walking around the gardens, closer to two if you also visit the neighboring Butterfly Garden.

Aside from burning in the sun from lack of shade, it was pretty. There are also weekly live-performance events that pop up, a photo booth, a little trampoline area for the kids, and they’ll even be starting a flower parade soon and a family-friendly Zumba class!

But that said……

In my completely honest opinion, eh, I don’t think visiting the Dubai Miracle Gardens is a Dubai-MUST. I mean, it’s huge – literally the biggest in the world, but they’re just flowers. Maybe if you’re in the city for more than four days and you’ve run out of things to do and you really like flowers…sure, go for it!

I was personally in Dubai for a week and while I don’t REGRET visiting, per se, I do wish I had spent those two hours exploring more of Old Dubai instead (which I had to rush through). So if you’re pressed on time, don’t feel guilty about skipping it.

If you’ve been, what were your thoughts? If you haven’t….which way are you leaning?

To garden or not to garden? Mmm…

Speaking of gardens, if you happen to be near Victoria, BC in Canada, it might also be worth your fancy to check out the world-famous (but not Guinness winning) Butchart Gardens !
