Marko communicates his deep love for his country and that makes it a much more exiting experience. He was a mixture of being strict with the itinerary and beautifully flexible with improvisations along the way. And with us three he did quite a bit of the latter making our trip perfect. He was outstanding finding apt. accomodations vs. hotels, our choice. His choice of food stops were absolutely TOP. I (we) could go on and on with the risk of falling into superlative. We took a 10-day package tour covering Croatia. The accommodation throughout the tour was excellent , the lunches and dinner funded by the company was top class – filled with local cuisines and wines / liqueurs. Had a fun and memorable trip of a lifetime in Croatia. Marko is very kind and considerate. Everything is settled in from best hotels, car, restaurant reservation and places to visit. Hotel booked were all nice and fancy, friendly staff. Car always smells good and clean. Restaurants where Marko took us were one of kind serving delicious food. He’s very patient with us, while we’re taking our time buying souvenirs and taking pictures. Very knowledgeable of their history and smart women. Since l was visiting Budapest, l took the opportunity to book a tour to Croatia. I had wanted to join a group tour but could not find one that matched my travels dates. As l have not taken a private tour before, decided to do it this time. Overall, a very good private tour experience. Only advise is try not to visit during December as most shops and restaurants are closed due to lack of tourists. But if you want to feel like having a whole town literally to yrself then, by all means, do so. Oh yes! The Plitvice Lakes looked amazing in winter!

Cleveland Museum of Illusions tricks the eyes and boggles the mind (photos)

C LEVELAND, Ohio —Visitors will not believe their eyes when they walk through Cleveland’s new Museum of Illusions at 186 Euclid Avenue (The May Building). And they shouldn’t. The museum, which opens Friday, May 31, has more than 60 exhibits designed to mess with perception.

“A lot of the things we do here will play with your visual sense,” said Tom Clack, director of operations for the museum. “They play with visual perception of what you think you see.”

Unlike many museums, exhibits here require physical interaction. Visitors must touch, walk through and otherwise participate in displays for full affect.

Some illusions rely on mirrors, such as the Human Kaleidoscope. Others create movement with graphics, strobe lights and distortion. All are decidedly Instagrammable. In fact, they beg for hamming it up and posting selfies on social media.

The illusions are not mysteries for long.

“Every exhibit here will have a placard that gives you the science behind the illusion,” said Krystal Casteneda, general manager, during a preview walkthrough. While the curious may read the placards, the interactive museum is just as fun without the explanations.

The museum chain was founded in 2015 in Zagreb, Croatia, by two young entrepreneurs, who were fascinated by and started collecting illusions. Today it is supported by a robust research and development team creating new illusions.

Cleveland, the chain’s 50th location, has a handful of displays unique to the city. For example, the city’s “Reverse Room” has a basketball theme that’s unique to Cleveland.

To control crowds and lines, tickets are issued in small groups every 20 minutes. They are available online now. They range from $20 for children to $24 for adults. Teachers and educators are free with a valid ID.

The museum experience takes about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the number of photos one takes.

Castenada sees the museum as a great site for holiday photos and modeling shoots as well as corporate and private parties. The space is available for small parties up to large buyout parties.

Dramamine may be a good party favor for those subject to motion sickness. Kidding. Not kidding. Dizziness is a real possibility in several exhibits and part of the fun for many folks.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
