The issuance of a Schengen visa must be done at the consulate of the country considered to be its main destination, depending on the purpose of your trip and the length of stay, or in the first country of entry if it is the same length of stay in the different Schengen States.

Application for visa must be submitted in person with no more than 180 days in advance to your trip and at least 15 days before. Applications with more than 180 days in advance to your trip will not be accepted. Crew members can apply 9 months in advance.

The Schengen States: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Sweden and Switzerland.

Honorary Vice Consulates of Spain are not allowed to issue visas.

You can apply at this Consulate If the majority of the duration of your stay will be in Spain, and you are a permanent resident of Florida, Georgia or South Carolina (State ID required). Due to the quantity of applications received by this office, it is recommended that you plan your trip to the Schengen area with sufficient time to apply for an appointment and to process your visa application.

Citizens of certain countries DO NOT require a visa to travel as tourist (for a stay that does not exceed 3 months within a period of 6 months). Exceptions also apply to holders of Biometric Passports from certain countries Check list of countries whose nationals must be in possession of a visa when crossing the external borders

Holders of a B1/B2 visa must apply for a Schengen visa in their country of origin or permanent residence.

Application for visa must be submitted in person with no more than 180 days in advance to your trip and at least 15 days before. Applications with more than 180 days in advance to your trip will not be accepted.

Obtaining a visa is not a legal right and the Administration has complete authority to evaluate, deny and request additional information to complete the file. The purpose of the trip cannot be altered.

Application for minors must be made by parents or legal guardian with proper legal documentation (Birth certificate, legal custody, notarized letter signed by both parents giving permission to travel and notarized copy of parent’s I.D). Children of 12 years and older must be present at the time of appointment in order to get fingerprints.

Note: Exemption of Visa Fee for a child is applicable only in the case of Short Term category, if the child's age is less than 6 years at the date of submission.

BLS International Service charge

Applicants applying at the Spanish visa application Centre shall be levied a service charge of 18 USD /- (inclusive tax) payable in cash or Debit Card.

  • Non-refundable Visa Fee, payable with only Debit Card / Cash Payments (No money Order).
  • Two applications for Schengen Visa completed and signed by applicant or both parents in case of minor. (If is incomplete if can affect the visa decision)
  • Two Recent US passport size pictures in color, 2x2 inches (51x51mm) in size, printed on matt/glossy paper, taken within the last 6 months to reflect your current appearance in front of a white/off white background, non-smiling.
  • Ordinary passport or travel document issued in the last 10 years and within at least two empty pages, recognized by the Schengen States for the issuance of a visa, valid for a period of 3 months beyond the expected length of stay in the Schengen area or the period of validity of the visa.
  • Driver’s license or state ID (from Florida, Georgia or South Carolina) with correct physical permanent address. (No applications will be accepted without this document).
  • Permit to return to the United States of America in the form of a Residence Card, or a Student/work visa, stamped on the passport, or parole. • Holders of a B1/B2 visa must apply for a Schengen visa in their country of origin or permanent residence.
  • Complete travel itinerary (Round Trip from USA- Flight reservation with booking reference number). We urge you NOT to purchase travel tickets until your visa has been approved. We will need a booking reference number with applicant’s name on booking and clear details of travel dates, and flight numbers or bus tickets, euro pass, rent a car details when traveling from one country to another within the Schengen area.
  • Confirmed hotel reservations with address and telephone matching with flights dates.
  • Official invitation letter from a Spanish national or foreign legal resident in Spain, issued by the Police Department letter from a Spanish national or foreign legal resident in Spain, issued by the police/governing body OR letter from inviting person confirming the address of stay, hosts passport copy or host’s residence proof if not a national.
  • If the trip is arranged by tour operator, booking of the trip and itinerary with specifying hotels day by day including each locations address, phone number and email ID.
  • For Cruise: itinerary with ports day by day.
  • Medical travel insurance with a minimum coverage limit of 30,000 Euros or its equivalent in USD approx. $50,000 for the entire duration of your trip throughout Schengen territory for urgent medical assistant, hospitalization, repatriation due to an accident or death, and Zero deductible. The insurance must be valid in all the Schengen countries and covers the entire length of stay. (Insurance card not accepted. Full breakdown of coverage/visa letter must be submitted).
  • Notarized Letter assuming all cost of applicants’ stay…etc.
  • Notarized Sponsor’s ID
  • Proof of employment: letter from Company that the sponsor is working for, last 3 paystubs.
  • Most recent 3 last Bank Statement.
  • Tax Return/ W2 and 1040 Form
  • Proof of relationship (Birth Certificate, Tax returns showing dependent)
  • 2nd grade relatives may sponsor (lease proof with both names may be provided) however decision lies at the discretion of the consulate.
  • Self-employed individuals must provide most recent year income tax return (s), 3 last corporate bank statements, professional license if applicable and certificate of incorporation.
  • For retired: letter from the Social Security Administration confirming the monthly retirement income.
  • Students must provide proof of enrollment for e.g. F1 copy, School ID card, transcripts.
  • Business travelers must bring a letter from their US Company indicating purpose and length of stay and a letter of invitation from the Spanish company or conference, invitation letter of the host.
  • Application for minors must be made by parents or legal guardian with proper legal documentation: Birth certificate, legal custody, notarized letter signed by both parents giving permission to travel and notarized copy of parent’s ID and financial assets (3 latest bank statements, Taxes (W2 and 1040 Form) last 3 paystubs, notarized green card copy in specific cases).
  • Before a public Notary, legalized or apostilled and translated into Spanish (only for letter written in a language other than Spanish or English)
  • If one of the parents does not reside in Florida, Georgia or South Carolina, it can be done before the Consulate of Spain corresponding to their place of residence.

When parents are divorced, final sentence of divorce and sentence of the judge containing the provisions on custody of the child.

Please provide one recent photograph (not more than 6 months old) of yourself, which should not have been used previously in the passport. The photograph should be in colour and:

  • Taken against a white background so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
  • Clear share quality and with the face in focus.
  • Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
  • Full face, non-smiling [without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background]
  • Please stick the Photograph on the Visa Application Form.

Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. A photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the centre.

Applications accepted at the Spain Visa Application Centre will be submitted on the next working day at the Consulate General of Spain. Once the application has been submitted, the applicant can be further requested additional documentation in support of the same. Please note as per the instructions received from Consulate General of Spain minimum processing time is 15 working days (It may delay depending on case to case).

All applications must be submitted at least 15 days prior to the proposed date of travel to accommodate any unforeseen processing delays.

Schengen short-stay visa when the purpose of the trip is tourism; visiting relatives and friends; cultural; or sports (less than 90 days educational/sports courses) within the Schengen Area.

Visa applications whose main destination in Europe is Slovenia (short stays only) should apply at BLS INTERNATIONAL SERVICES office in Singapore.

BLS International Service charge

Applicants applying at the Spanish visa application Centre shall be levied a service charge of 24.60 SGD /- (Includes GST@9%) payable in cash. Children under 6 are exempted from service charge.

All applicants must come in person (including minors) to the Visa Application Centre. Upon consideration of the non exhaustive list of the following documents, further supportive documentation may be requested in each individual case. You are informed that the lack of any of the documents below, might result in the refusal of the visa application.

  • Schengen Visa application form : The application must be completed, dated and signed.
  • ONE photograph (glued to the application) : the photo must be recent (4,5cm x 3,5cm), clearly showing the face, the forehead hairline and ears on a white background.
  • Passport (Original and Photocopy of the identity pages). The passport must be valid for a minimum of 3 months from the date of completion of their stay in the Schengen territory, with at least two blank pages available to stamp the visa. Photocopy of previous Schengen visas within last 3 years and other third countries valid visas in the last year if available.
  • Singaporean IC (e.g. employment card/ S pass/ Dependant pass/ Student pass/ Work permit/ PR card). Original and photocopy including Validity page/Re-entry permit copy if applicant is a PR . This document must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended date of departure from the Schengen territory. In the case that current Singaporean IC is in process of renovation, proof from MOM or corresponding Singaporean authority must be provided.
  • A booking for a round-trip airline ticket or printout of a confirmed reservation with the applicant's name (final destination must be outside Schengen territory).
  • A travel itinerary including hotel reservation or similar confirmation of accommodation for the entire trip in the Schengen area. In the case of private accommodation provided by the person the applicant is visiting (family member or friend); a letter of invitation"CARTA OFICIAL DE INVITACION" issued by the Spanish Police is required as proof of accommodation. Procedure and requirements to request this letter can be checked at: http://www.policia.es/documentacion/no_comunitarios/car_requisitos.html Original and photocopy must be provided. Original letter will be returned with the Embassy stamp and official signature.
  • Travel/medical insurance : covering medical expenses, repatriation and evacuation for medical reasons and repatriation of mortal remains for at least 30,000 EUR or its equivalent in SGD, per each stated benefit and valid for the entire Schengen area for the duration of the applicant's planned stay. COPY OF THE PAGES OF YOUR POLICY WHERE YOUR NAME, GEOGRAPHICAL AREA AND PERIOD OF COVERAGE IS STATED ALONG WITH THE SCHEDULE OF BENEFITS AND AMOUNT COVERED must be submitted.   • Employees : Updated letter from the applicant’s employer, stating the details of the applicant, employment duration, designation, and confirming the holiday granted. Self employed : final tax return and an updated statement of the ACRA. Students : Letter of University/College explaining the degree/programme the applicant is doing in Singapore and period of holidays/trip.
  • For applicant: by means of the latest 06 months of bank book statements, or bank account statements or fixed deposit statements (Transactions included). The NAME of the account holder must be the applicant's name and has to appear in the statements. Singaporean bank accounts in either SGD; EUR; or USD will be accepted
  • For minors (less than 18 years old): It is mandatory for both parents to be present at the center during the submission of the visa application and the necessary signature process has to be completed in front of the submission officer. Please READ the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION in the information sheet for minor applicants.
  • For spouses who are sponsored: READ the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION sheet for sponsored applicants.
  • For applicants who are sponsored: READ the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION sheet for sponsored applicants

When the visa applicant is (less tan 18 years old), a sponsored spouse or sponsored son/daughter, or any applicant being sponsored by someone else, please read the following information to know the docuemnts and information that these visa applicants will have to sumbit TOGETHER WITH THE REST OF DOCUMENTS AND INFORMATION needed for each kind of visa.

  • APPLICANTS LESS THAN 18 YEARS OLD 1.1. BOTH PARENTS LIVING IN SINGAPORE - Submit photocopy of passports of both parents - Submit photocopy of Singaporean IC of both parents - Submit certificate of birth or Passport of parents where the relationship is stated (Indian Passport holders for instance) --> - Submit the latest 06 months bank statements of the at least one parent 1.2. ONE PARENT ONLY LIVING IN SINGAPORE: - Submit photocopy of passports of both parents - Submit photocopy of Singaporean IC of the parent who is a resident in Singapore - Submit certificate of birth or Passport of parents where the relationship is stated (Indian Passport holders for instance) --> - The applicant must obtain parental authorization duly attested by the nearest Spanish Embassy or apostille/legalized from the parent/s' country of residence. - Submit the latest 06 months bank statements of the at least one parent 1.3 BOTH PARENTS ABROAD (NOT LIVING IN SINGAPORE): - Submit photocopy of passports of both parents notarised and legalised at country of origin. - Submit certificate of birth legalised or Apostilled at contry of origin - Submit 3 latest months bank statements of at least one parent abroad notarised or authenticated if the applicant does not have account in Singapore - The applicant must obtain parental authorization duly attested by the nearest Spanish Embassy or apostille/legalized from the parent/s' country of residence. - Submit the latest 06 months bank statements of the at least one parent abroad notarised or authenticated if the applicant does not have an account in Singapore.
  • 2. APPLICANTS 18 YEARS OLD and older: SPONSORSHIP in Singapore: The sponsor has to present a notarised affidavit that must include the following documents: 1. Signed before the Singaporean Public Notary the letter of sponsorship 2. A photocopy of the sponsor’s passport 3. A photocopy of the sponsor’s Singaporean IC 4. A photocopy of the sponsor’s three latest months bank statements. 5. The latest 06 months' bank statement of the sponsor
  • APPLICANTS 18 YEARS OLD and older: SPONSORSHIP from abroad (by parents): Must include a notarial affidavit LEGALISED or APOSTILLED with: • A photocopy of the sponsor’s passport • A photocopy of the sponsor’s three latest months bank statements in English • Signed before the Public Notary the letter of sponsorship • The latest 06 months' bank statement of the sponsor
  • SPONSORED SPOUSES in Singapore: - Signed of letter of sponsorship by spouse in Singapore - Submit photocopy of passport the sponsor spouse - Submit photocopy of Singaporean IC of the sponsor spouse - Submit certificate of marriage - Submit 3 lates months bank statements of the sponsor spouse - Submit the latest 06 months bank statements of the sponsor spouse

Applications accepted at the Spain Visa Application Centre will be submitted on the next working day at the Embassy of Spain/Consulate General of Spain. For BLS application Centers other than Mumbai or Delhi, it would take around 2 - 4 days for the application to reach the Embassy or Consulate post submission provided.Once the application has been submitted, the applicant can be further requested additional documentation in support of the same.

The processing time of the visa applications is minimum of 15 working days.

BLS work is primarily administrative in nature, we have no say on whether you will be granted a visa and how long it will take to process your application, as this is entirely the prerogative of the Embassy of Spain in Singapore. Once the application has been submitted, the applicant can be further requested additional documentation in support of the same.

Visa Applications for certain nationals will require an additional security check that may result in longer visa processing time. Check the Annex 16 for the list of these countries.

A tourist Schengen Visa permits third-country nationals to enter the Schengen Area for a máximum of 90 days within a 6-month period, under the purpose of travelling or visiting europe for pleasure. You will have to lodge your tourist Schengen visa application at the embassy/consulate of your main destination in the Schengen area (the one in which you will be spending more days or the one in which you will step in first since you plan to spend an equal amount of days in each).

There is a service charge of 16.90 Euro (inclusive of VAT) per visa application in addition to the visa, fee payable by all applicants and visa categories.

Please note:

  • The applicable Visa Fee in Euros (€) is as per the current exchange rate and is subject to change without notice.
  • The following categories of applicants are exempted of Visa fees:
  • Children under 6 years
  • Pupils, students and accompanying teachers during a school trip
  • Researchers travelling to perform scientific research
  • Representatives of non-profit organisations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, Sports, cultural or educational events organised by non-profit organisations.

BLS International Service charge

  • The Special Delivery facility for the return of processed applications is available at a fee of 29.99 Euro (Inclusive of VAT) per application. This is an optional service.
  • The SMS and email notification for the processing of the applications is available at a fee of 2.99 Euro (Inclusive of VAT) per application. This is an optional service.
  • The Visa fees can be paid by cash only. Cheque payments and direct bank transfers are not accepted.
  • All fees are non-refundable

"Checklist"

Please note all of the required documentation listed below is mandatory for all applicants, including such cases where flights, accommodation, insurance and other items may be arranged by applicant’s employer, travel companies or any other companies or individuals. If applying as a family, all family members must provide their own individual documents.

Please provide 1 set of all documents per person (Included kids): Only copy.

The Spanish Consulate could request additional documents.

  • Online Application Form. Please ensure it is fully completed, signed in both required fields, and bring with you when attending for your appointment Please note that forms submitted from any other source will not be accepted.
  • Passport/travel document . Please provide the original and a copy of the page with your personal data and photo. Your passport will not be accepted if it has been issued more than 10 years ago as of the date of return from your scheduled trip. The same applies to passports issued more than 10 years ago that have since been extended. Your passport must also be valid for at least another 90 days beyond your return date from Schengen area, and must have at least 2 blank adjacent visa pages in it.
  • Irish certificate of registration (GNIB card) valid for at least three months after the date of expiry day.
  • Proof of current address in Ireland (ESB bill, telephone bill, gas bill, bank statement, rent book, lease agreement etc.)
  • If you are employed: Your work permit, letter for employer and most recent pay slip. If you do not require a work permit: a letter from your employer or copy of work contract and your last pay slip P60 if applicable.
  • If you are self-employed: your company's registration certificate and a recent business print out available from the Companies Registration Office (CRO).
  • If you are a student: recent letter from your university / college / school confirming your attendance/status, number of hours of tuition per week and duration of the course. Proof of part-time employment if applicable or information on sponsorship, bank statement for the last 3 months Sponsor, ID for Sponsor, and Sponsor Letter.
  • If you are retired: your pension booklet
  • lf you are a dependent: proof of your spouse's occupation and passport as well as your marriage certificate, if applicable.
  • Kids: Letter for School or GP letter, and all the documents for the parents.
  • Bank Statement To support yourself during your journey the last 3 months of your bank statement whit minimum 600.00 euros in your balance, if you will pay for your family your bank statement must be 600.00 for each. Example one family whit 3 person your balance need be 1.800.00 euros.
  • You must show hotel bookings for every single night you spend in the Schengen area, and they must correspond with your travel tickets. If your name is not mentioned on the accommodation reservation, then a joint travel confirmation letter signed and dated by the person whose name is on the reservation must also be provided. In addition, a photocopy of that person’s passport/ID card + passport must also be provided. If the signature is on a different page other than the main page with photo, a copy of this page should also be provided…
  • If invited to stay in Spain with a family member or friend, you must provide an original and copy of the Official Invitation letter issued by Police of Spain with a copy of host’s Passport. (Original will be returned to you after visa decision has been made). Please note only an official invitation issued by Police of Spain will be accepted. A letter written by the host will not be accepted
  • Flight tickets.

Documents Required

Note: You can only apply by maximum 180 Days or minimum 15 days before your travel to the Schengen Area.

  • (1) Recent photo (3.5x4.5) with white background not more than 6 months. Please check Photo Specifications .
  • Valid passport for 3 months (90 days) after the end of the trip, and the passport must have at least 2 blank pages, with copies of all non - blank pages.
  • If the applicant doesn´t have a Schengen visa on his/her current passport, he/she must bring an old passport covering the last 7 years (with no gaps between the passports). If none, the applicant must bring a movement certificate (indicating if they had a previous passports and if they had previously travelled to any Member States).
  • For non- Egyptian nationals: Proof of legal residence in Egypt, valid for 3 months beyond the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States.
  • Copy of the National ID and must be translated, please check the ID Translation Form .
  • For employees: an original signed & stamped HR letter stating the below: Current Position - Salary level - The date of the recruitment - Confirmation of leave approval .
  • For company owners: A Valid Commercial registry and up-to-date tax card (Original /Copy/Translation).
  • For Students: An original enrolment letter from school/university.
  • The full address of the company and contact persons
  • Nature of the business
  • Name and position of the person signing the invitation
  • Purpose and duration of the visit
  • Person or entity who will bear the applicant’s travel and living costs
  • Copy of the sending company’s recent registry/ tax card
  • Statement on official company paper stamped and signed, containing the following information: o Full address of the company and contact persons o Name and position of the person signing the statement o Applicant’s name, position, salary and number of years employed ( if applicable) o Purpose of the visit o The characteristics of the applicant’s work contract o Person or entity who will bear the applicant’s travel and living costs.
  • A declaration letter should be submitted to authorize the Spanish Embassy to confirm the bank accounts with the authenticity of the bank accounts. Please check the Declaration Form.
  • In case of non-personal bank account, an ID of the bank holder should be submitted with the declaration & signed by the Bank Holder.
  • If the submitted bank statement does not belong to the applicant (except for minors), an authorization to dispose of it stamped by the bank must be submitted. Please check the Authorization Form.
  • In the absence of a bank account, a proof of other assets must be submitted. If relevant, proof of financial means may be given by submitting an official national form of sponsorship and/or private accommodation (required by some Member States)
  • Proof of intended means of transportation (A round Flight) and the tickets shouldn’t be fully paid before the issuing of the visa.
  • A prepaid hotel reservation.
  • Confirmation of a hotel reservation.
  • Confirmation of prepaid accommodation.
  • Proof of sufficient financial means to cover the accommodation cists.
  • Proof of private accommodation may also be provided by a host in line with certain legal requirements.
  • Travel insurance covers the whole trip that covers the medical expenses and repatriation in case of accident or disease (minimum cover: € 30.000), please check the official Insurance Companies .
  • An itinerary, if visiting more than one Member State.
  • In case of a minor traveling unaccompanied or with only one of their parents, they must provide either a notarized certificate from el shahr el Aqary that (must be translated into Spanish or English).
  • Or a signed parental Consent at (BLS) the Spanish Visa Center, please find the Parental Consent Form .
  • If the parents are outside Egypt, they must sign a notarized certificate inside the Spanish embassy at their current country.
  • A copy of either parent’s passport or ID must be provided.
  • An original birth certificate for the minor’s must be issued in Spanish by the Civil Status Authority).

General Information for all visa types:

  • The Submitted documents will not returned back to the applicant.
  • All documents that issued in Arabic should be translated into Spanish/English, except (Birth, Death, Marriage & Divorce) certificates must be issued from the civil registry office of Abbassia in Spanish only and to be submitted original. (No need for legalization).
  • All documents should be submitted original except the tax card, the commercial registry & the travel insurance (the originals need to be seen on the submission day) and you should submit the original of translations.
  • HR letter validity is three months.
  • Enrolment letter validity is three months.
  • Invitation letter validity is three months.
  • Admission letter ‘student visa’ validity is three months.
  • Bank statement validity is one month from the end date mentioned at the bank statement.
  • Health certificate validity is three months.
  • Criminal record validity is three months.
  • Embassy legalization validity is three months.
  • All applicants must attend their appointments at BLS visa application centre except minors under 12 years old (they may not attend their appointments but they must submit the accurate Photo Specifications).
  • The Embassy may require more documents after submitting the application, they will send an e-mail to the e-mail address mentioned in the application form. Then the additional documents should be submitted to BLS office on our working days (From 02:00 PM. to 03:00 PM. every day except Friday, Saturday & Holidays) within 10 calendar days after receiving the e-mail from the embassy. A Copy of the receipt of the application in addition to the e-mail of the Embassy (printed) must be provided with the additional documents.
  • If you are spending the same duration of days in several Schengen countries but Spain is your first country to visit.
  • SPAIN must be the main destination for the Schengen countries where you will spend the longest duration of stay.
  • The organization/company which is responsible for the group must prepare a list by the full data of the applicants (full name, passport number, date of birth & current address) and all the details of the trip to be submitted to the Embassy.
  • The responsible person should contact the Embassy of Spain in Egypt through following e-mail address: [email protected] to get an appointment to stamp the list.
  • The responsible person should deliver a copy of the stamped list with all the data of the organizer to BLS office on our working days (from 02:00 p.m. to 04:00 p.m. All week except Friday, Saturday & Holidays) then we will contact you within the next 48 working hours.
  • Providing a Family Register to Proof the applicant’s family ties and marital status in Egypt.
  • For Spouses , a marriage certificate is required (to be issued in Spanish from the civil registry of Abbassia) if they are applying together or one of them is applying with documents relate to the other.
  • For Honeymooners , a proof of wedding/being married should be provided.
  • For foreigners , a valid permit of stay up to 3 months (90 days) after the end of the trip is required.
  • For the Egyptian Citizens who have a valid residency in any other country, According to a Schengen regulation, they have to apply for a Schengen visa to Spain from the country of residency.

Photo Specifications

Please make sure that the photograph meets the following requirements:

  • You have to provide a one recent one (not more than 6 months old), sized in (3.5 x 4.5) zoom on the face.
  • Must be in color, taken against white background so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
  • Clear share quality with the face in focus.
  • Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
  • Full face, non-smiling without glasses/sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background.

Note: If children under 12 years old are not attending their appointment(s), the parents have to provide two very recent photographs with their applications. In case the photographs do not meet the required specifications, the children will have to show up at the center to take a live photos.

Applications submitted at BLS Visa Application Centre will be delivered to the Embassy of Spain on the next working day. Additional documents could be requested from the applicants in support of the same.

According to The Embassy of Spain the processing time is from 15 to 45 calendar days. In some cases this period could be extended.

Applicants submitting their applications with short notice time prior to the proposed date of travel will be at their own responsibilities.

It is advisable to prepare all your required documents corresponding to your travel dates, to avoid any delay in the application process.

If applying as a family, all family members must provide their own individual documents. Every applicant who is submitting documents in this Spain Visa Application Centre should attend an appointment in person (including children under the age of 12).

Please provide photocopy of all original documents (including passport (bio page), UK visa/BRP card/UK stamp, previous Schengen visas, etc.)

The Spanish Consulate can request additional documents if need be.

  • Please do not staple any documents.
  • All documents must be in English or Spanish and translated only into Spanish when stated or requested . If so, documents must be officially translated by a certified, professional translator.
  • Please check the “Processing Time” section above for more information.
  • An appointment or the acceptance of a visa application and documents by BLS does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. Once an application is forwarded to the Consulate, they may request more documentation or make further requests from you in order to process the application.
  • During the processing time the passport is secured in the Consulate. Passports can only be withdrawn during this period through BLS, submitting a written request signed by the applicant that will be forwarded to the Consulate. The passport will be returned via BLS only the following day. No passports can be withdrawn directly from Consulate .
  • All decisions regarding the issuance of, duration and number of entries for a visa are at the sole discretion of the Spanish Consulate General in London.
  • Applicants are not allowed to apply by post.

  • No hat or accessories- if you normally wear glasses to see, hearing aids, wig or similar, please do not remove them for photo
  • Dark Sunglasses are not allowed without prescription, A medical certificate may require.
  • If your head is covered daily for religious or medical reason, A letter of explanation may require.

Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete. A photo booth meeting these requirements is available at the centre.

Applications accepted at the Spain Visa Application Centre will be submitted on the morning of the next working day to the Spanish Consulate General in London.

Once the application has been submitted, the applicant can be further requested additional documentation in support of the same.

The legal period for reaching a decision is of 15 calendar days as of the day after the application submission date, but this period may be extended to 45 calendar days if an interview or additional documents are requested. The Consular Office shall process the application on a preferential basis.

Visa applications submitted by nationals of certain States require consultation with the central authorities that could affect the duration of the visa procedure.

The Consulate does not provide information on the state of a visa application nor on refusals of visas. Any email requesting information on these issues will not be answered.
