Primary Schools
Educational visits to the senedd for primary schools, enjoy a unique fun-filled learning experience at the senedd with our free curriculum linked sessions..
We host one school /cluster of schools for each session, there are six session slots available each week.
Schools can choose which theme they would like the session to cover from the options below. Please note we can deliver only one session per timeslot, regardless of the session theme chosen. The 'Our Senedd' session is available on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.
We offer a travel subsidy to support with transport related costs for educational visits to the Senedd, Cardiff Bay. If you intend to make a travel subsidy claim it would be helpful to have the banking details at the time of booking.

Explore Sessions
Our senedd: tuesday and wednesday 13:00 – 14:30 to correspond with plenary.
Suitable for Years 4-6. Maximum 40 pupils. Pupils will role play the work of a Member of the Senedd and take part in a debate, before seeing the Senedd in action.
Additional session themes are available to book on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00-12:00 and at 13:00-15:00 on Thursday afternoons.
Please note that we can accommodate only one session per time slot, therefore availability of slots does not differ depending on the theme chosen. Select the images below to learn more, and to book.
Primary School Senedd or School Council visit
Representatives will consider the importance and the impact of their work as school Senedd members.
Past, Present and Future
Suitable for Year 5 and 6 Pupils. Maximum 30 pupils. Learners will reflect on the past, present and future of Wales by visiting two iconic buildings in Cardiff Bay, the Senedd and Pierhead.
Sustainable Senedd
Suitable for Year 5 and 6 Pupils. Maximum 48 pupils. This programme will allow pupils to explore the materials and design features of the Senedd.
The Dragon Challenge (Years 3 & 4)
Suitable for Year 3 and 4 Pupils. Maximum 48 pupils. Pupils will use our 'Dragon Challenge' activity booklet to explore the Senedd.
I've got the Power
Suitable for Year 5 and 6 Pupils. Maximum 60 pupils. Pupils will explore what it means to be an both an activist and an active citizen, before creating and debating their own campaign.
If I was a Member of the Senedd
Suitable for Year 5 and 6 Pupils. Maximum 60 pupils Pupils will complete a series of challenges to find out how they'd get on as a Member of the Senedd.
