Russell Brand ’s remaining live shows on his Bipolarisation tour have been postponed following allegations of sexual assault against the comedian .

Over the weekend, a joint investigation between Channel 4 ’s Dispatches , The Times and The Sunday Times revealed accusations from four women alleging Brand, 48, subjected them to sexual abuse, rape and emotional abuse on occasions between 2006 and 2013.

He has since vehemently denied these “very serious allegations”. The outlets have since reported that several more women have come forward with similar allegations, which are now being “rigorously checked”.

In light of these accusations, the final shows for Brand’s Bipolarisation tour have been postponed.

“We are postponing these few remaining addiction charity fundraiser shows, we don’t like doing it – but we know you’ll understand,” the tour’s promoters announced in a one-line statement.

Brand was scheduled to perform on Tuesday (19 September) at the Theatre Royal Windsor, with later dates in Wolverhampton and Plymouth.

The Theatre Royal said it will be “offering ticket refunds in line with our Terms & Conditions of sale”.

The cancellation of the rest of his live shows comes as the Metropolitan police confirmed that officers are “in contact with” a woman who, on Sunday (17 September), made a report to the force about an alleged sexual assault that happened in Soho in 2003.

Brand’s publishing deal with Pan Macmillan’s imprint Bluebird has also been suspended.

Channel 4, meanwhile, has removed a number of TV episodes in which he starred, including a 2019 episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off and the Big Brother box sets that he appeared on.

The programme has said that it is launching an internal enquiry into Brand’s alleged behaviour, encouraging “anyone who is aware of such behaviour to contact us directly”.

In his YouTube video, posted on Friday (15 September) ahead of the report and Dispatches documentary, Brand said that he was “very promiscuous” at the time of the alleged incidents, but claimed that “the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual”.

Russell Brand Bipolarisation

Comedian and actor Russell Brand ‘s live tour “Bipolarisation” has been postponed.

The first show to be affected is at the Theatre Royal Windsor. The theater management team shared the following statement on Monday from the promoters of Brand’s “Bipolarisation” tour: “We are postponing these few remaining addiction charity fundraiser shows, we don’t like doing it – but we know you’ll understand.”

Brand was due to perform the show on Tuesday. It was sold out. He reportedly performed to an audience of 2000 at Wembley, London on Saturday.

Popular on Variety

Brand has strenuously denied the allegations. He pre-emptively denied the allegations in a YouTube video titled “So, This Is Happening,” where he said he “absolutely refutes” the “litany of astonishing, rather baroque, attacks.”

On Monday, his publishing deal with Pan Macmillan imprint Bluebird was suspended following allegations the star had repeatedly  sexually assaulted women .

In a statement to The Bookseller, a rep for Bluebird said: “These are very serious allegations and in the light of them, Bluebird has taken the decision to pause all future publishing with Russell Brand.”

Meanwhile, the London Metropolitan police has received a report about an assault that allegedly took place in 2003. A police spokesperson said: “Officers are in contact with the woman and will be providing her with support.”

The “Bipolarisation” show is described thus: “Rules and rule breaking! Democracy and freedom! We reach conclusions from mass confusion by polling the live audience. We want to hear YOUR opinion. After amassing a movement of 25 million people across his digital channels, the Community festival and the live show Stay Free; the cultural and political commentator and award-winning British comedian is back on stage.”

Russell Brand postpones comedy tour following sexual assault allegations

Russell Brand has postponed his remaining U.K. comedy shows following the publication of multiple sexual abuse allegations against him over the weekend.

Brand was accused of sexual and emotional abuse by four women in a joint investigation by the Times of London, The Sunday Times and Channel 4 Dispatches . The comedian turned wellness influencer denied the allegations, saying that all of his relationships have been consensual.

The Theatre Royale Windsor management announced that it would be suspending the end of Brand's current "Bipolarisation" comedy tour in a statement Monday.

"We are postponing these few remaining addiction charity fundraiser shows, we don’t like doing it — but we know you’ll understand," the statement said.

It's unclear whether the dates will be rescheduled. Theatre Royal Windsor said it will be issuing refunds in line with the venue's policies.

Russell Brand leaves a theater after performing a comedy set in London on Sept. 16, 2023.

The Times of London, The Sunday Times and Channel 4 Dispatches spoke to four women, one of whom said she had a three month relationship with Brand when she was 16 years old.

That woman, who identified as Alice, said Brand was 31 at the time and alleged that he forced her to perform oral sex. Brand did not stop until she punched him in the stomach, she told The Times.

She also alleged that although she was of legal consenting age in the U.K., Brand guided her on how to present their relationship to her family and to save his contact under a different name. She also told The Times she reached out to Brand's literary agency in 2020 with her allegations.

Management agency Tavistock Wood said Sunday that they dropped Brand as a client , adding that they were "horribly misled" by him.

Another woman, who was identified by the name Nadia, accused Brand of raping her at his Los Angeles residence in 2012. She said Brand invited her to the home after they'd had consensual sex once before, but on this occasion wanted a "friend" to join them, according to The Times.

When she refused, Brand held her against a wall and raped her, Nadia alleged.

NBC News has not independently confirmed any of the allegations against Brand.

Metropolitan Police Service told NBC News that it received a report of sexual assault against Brand on Sunday, a day after the investigation's publication and a documentary that also aired Saturday.

The alleged sexual assault occurred in 2003, in London's Soho neighborhood, according to the police department.

"We continue to encourage anyone who believes they may have been a victim of a sexual offence, no matter how long ago it was, to contact us," Metropolitan Police Service said.

Bluebird, a division of Pan McMillian, also said Monday that it was suspending its pending publications with Brand.

“These are very serious allegations and in the light of them, Bluebird has taken the decision to pause all future publishing with Russell Brand," the company said.

Brand has denied all of the allegations against him in a social media post.

“But amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute,” Brand said in a video.

Channel 4 confirmed that episodes of "Big Brother’s Big Mouth" and "The Great British Bake Off" which featured Brand have been removed from its streaming service. Brand worked with the network from 2004 and 2007, when some of the allegations occurred.

One staff member, a woman identified as Rachel, alleged to the Times that Brand flashed his penis at her in his dressing room and insinuated that she could perform oral sex on him.

Other crew members also alleged mistreatment from Brand in interviews with the times, including people who felt that they were working as a "pimp" for Brand as he pursued members of the audience for sex.

"We have asked the production company who produced the programmes for Channel 4 to investigate these allegations and report their findings properly and satisfactorily to us," the network said. "Channel 4 is also conducting its own internal investigation, and we would encourage anyone who is aware of such behaviour to contact us directly."

Russell Brand: Is 'Bipolarisation' tour cancelled after Dispatches show reveals sexual assault allegations?

At least one venue has confirmed the show has been "postponed"

One of the venues which Russell Brand was due to perform at later this month as part of his tour has confirmed that the show has been "postponed".

Russell Brand still performed to a sell-out crowd in London on Saturday (16 September), despite details of a number of serious sexual allegations against him, including rape, sexual assaults and abuse , being published in The Times just hours earlier - but doubts had been cast over whether he would finish the remaining three dates of the tour.

Now, the Theatre Royal in Windsor have released a statement from the promoters of Brand's Bipolarisation tour to say: "We are postponing these few remaining addiction charity fundraiser shows, we don't like doing it - but we know you'll understand." In a follow-up statement, the venue confirmed they will be offering ticket refunds to those who had bought them.Brand, who denied all the allegations in a video he uploaded to his social media platforms before the article was published, took to the stage at Wembley Park theatre as part of his ‘Bipolarisation’ tour, which began last month. He arrived on stage an hour later than scheduled, according to the BBC , and told the 2,000 strong crowd that “there are obviously some things that I absolutely cannot talk about”. He then continued with his show, which was happening at the same time as a Channel 4 Dispatches programme was being aired about the allegations, and received a standing ovation at the end.

So, will any of the remaining three 'Bipolarisation' tour dates still go ahead? Here’s what we know so far.

What is the ‘Bipolarisation’ tour?

The ‘Bipolarisation’ tour is the latest stand-up show from comedian, actor and political activist Russell Brand . It is described on his official website as the following: “Rules and rule breaking!

Where is Russell Brand due to perform?

There are three dates left on the ‘Bipolarisation’ tour. They are as follows:

Tuesday 19 September: Theatre Royal, Windsor

Friday 22 September: The Pavillions, Plymouth

Thursday 28 September: The Civic at the Halls, Wolverhampton

Are the final ‘Bipolarisation’ tour dates going ahead?

At the time of writing, at around 5pm on Monday 18 September, it has been confirmed that at least one of the show's has been "posponted", the Windsor Theatre Royal date were Brand was due to perform tomorrow (19 September). All references to the show have been removed from their website.

NationalWorld visited Brand’s official website at around the same time, however, and found a pop-up with the tour information still appears as soon as the homepage loads. The remaining two venues, The Civic at the Halls, Wolverhampton, and Plymouth's The Pavillions, also still have the tour poster and information listed under their ‘what’s on’ sections.

The Plymouth performance is listed as sold-out on the website, but there are still tickets available for the Wolverhampton date. At around 5pm on Monday (18 September), NationalWorld was able to click through to the booking system, select seats and proceed to the payment page, as if ready to purchase, so it would appear as though tickets can still be bought for this performance.

However, the statement from the tour promoters, shared by The Theatre Royal, Windsor, would suggest that all of the final three dates have been cancelled. NationalWorld has tried to contact all venues directly.

Brand has remained quiet on his social media platforms, with his last post being the video he posted on Friday night (Friday 15 September) where he said he “absolutely refute(s)” all the allegations against him. We will update this page with more information when we get it.

Comedian Russell Brand has had his 'Bipolarisation' tour cancelled after allegations of sexual assault and abuse emerged against the star, all of which the TV presenter and comic denies

Russell Brand’s live tour has been cancelled after multiple allegations of rape and sexual abuse.

The controversial star’s scheduled appearance at the Theatre Royal, in Windsor, tomorrow (September 19th) will no longer take place. The sold-out event was part of Brand’s “Bipolarisation” tour, the ninth leg of which went ahead on Saturday at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, where he was greeted by cheers despite the string of allegations.

Brand was also due to perform at Plymouth Pavilions on September 22 and The Halls Wolverhampton on September 28. Since the allegations, tickets for the Plymouth appearance sold out. But a spokesperson said: We are postponing these few remaining addiction charity fundraiser shows, we don’t like doing it - but we know you’ll understand.”

After extensive investigations, The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 show Dispatches revealed claims Brand raped, sexually assault and emotionally abused women in the mid-2000s, which he denies. Since then TV bosses at the BBC and a production firm for Channel 4 have begun looking into his alleged behaviour.

His show at Plymouth Pavilions was also set to raise money for the Blossom Appeal for Trevi, a Plymouth-based women and children’s charity. The appeal will fund “a new, safe, trauma-informed women-only accommodation based in the centre of Plymouth… the place where women can find rest, peace and security and take positive steps in their journey of recovery from trauma and abuse.”

Shortly after the Dispatches programme was broadcast, the charity announced via social media that they were ending all association with Brand. Plymouth Labour’s violence against women and girls spokesperson councillor Zoe Reilly said: “I know that Russell Brand coming to Plymouth to perform in the wake of such serious allegations will be very upsetting for many people in our city and I completely support Trevi Women’s decision to end its association with him. Tackling violence against women and girls is an absolute priority in our city.”

Brand has denied all allegations put to him by the combined investigation between The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 show Dispatches. The comedian has said his relationships have all been consensual.

Speaking in a video shared to his social media channels ahead of Dispatches airing on Saturday, Brand said: "I've received two extremely disturbing letters or a letter and an email. One from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks, as well as some pretty stupid stuff like community festival should be stopped, that I shouldn't be able to attack mainstream media narratives on this channel.

"But amidst this litany of astonishing rather baroque attacks, often very serious allegations that I absolutely refute. These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies. And as I've written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous."

If you've been the victim of sexual assault, you can access help and resources via www.rapecrisis.org.uk or calling the national telephone helpline on 0808 802 9999.

Russell Brand

Despite Russel l Brand making a tour stop at London’s Troubadour Wembley Park on Saturday to a standing ovation, promoters have postponed his upcoming tour dates due to the numerous sexual assault allegations against the comedian. Further indicating Brand’s departure from public life for the present moment, he also skipped his Rumble show Monday, days after he preemptively defended himself on the channel.

Earlier today, London’s Metropolitan Police announced they were investigating another accusation, this time from 2003, though they did not mention Brand by name. “We are aware of reporting by The Sunday Times and Channel 4 ’s Dispatches about allegations of sexual offenses,” a Met spokesperson told CNN . “On Sunday, 17 September, the Met received a report of a sexual assault which was alleged to have taken place in Soho in central London in 2003. Officers are in contact with the woman and will be providing her with support.”

A joint investigation by England’s The Sunday Times , The Times , and Channel 4 reported that four women accused Brand of sexual assault in incidents occurring between 2006 and 2013. One of the women was 16 at the time of the alleged assault, and Brand was 31. Brand has denied these allegations.

In addition to the postponed tour dates, Brand’s publisher, Bluebird, announced it would “ pause all future publishing with Russell Brand .” Bluebird previously published the comedian’s ‌Recovery: Freedom From Our Addictions and ‌Mentors: How To Help And Be Helped and planned on releasing his latest, Recovery: The Workbook , this December. Brand’s literary talent agency, Tavistock Wood, also cut ties. In The Times report, one of Brand’s accusers made allegations to the agency in 2020 and received a “very aggressive” response from Brand’s lawyers for her troubles. “Russell Brand categorically and vehemently denied the allegation made in 2020, but we now believe we were horribly misled by him,” Tavistock Wood said in a statement. “TW has terminated all professional ties to Brand.”

Russell Brand ’s scheduled tour shows appeared set to continue despite the comedian facing allegations of sexual assault and rape.

The 48-year-old comedian is scheduled to finish off the last three dates on his Bipolarisation tour in Windsor, Plymouth and Wolverhampton.

Despite his seemingly active work life, the star is being investigated by the BBC , Channel 4 and a production company after he was accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse while working for the organisations.

The high-profile actor has denied the claims, including of controlling, abusive and predatory behaviour, which have been made by four women relating to alleged incidents between 2006 and 2013 in the UK and US .

A joint investigation published over the weekend by The Times and The Sunday Times newspapers, alongside a TV documentary by Channel 4 Dispatches, revealed the allegations facing the star – who said on Friday night all of his relationships have been ‘consensual’.

Brand is listed to perform at Windsor’s Theatre Royal on Tuesday, September 19, Plymouth’s The Pavilions on September 22 and finally, Wolverhampton’s The Civic at the Halls on September 28.

Russell Brand.

There are no signs of cancellation and as it stands, posters for the star’s show remain live on the venues’ websites – with Windsor’s fixture being sold out.

On their website, the live show’s description reads: ‘Rules and rule breaking! Democracy and freedom!

‘We reach conclusions from mass confusion by polling the live audience. We want to hear YOUR opinion.

‘After amassing a movement of 25 million people across his digital channels, the Community festival and the live show Stay Free; the cultural and political commentator and award-winning British comedian is back on stage.’

As Dispatches aired on Saturday evening, Brand carried out his scheduled sold-out performance at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre in north-west London as part of tour.

During the show, he told audience members there were things he could not discuss after he arrived late to the theatre over the weekend.

He turned up in a black Mercedes 46 minutes late to the gig, which was due to start at 7pm but did not in fact begin until after 8pm.

The comedian’s former agency Tavistock Wood, commented on the allegations and said in a statement sent to Metro.co.uk: ‘Russell Brand categorically and vehemently denied the allegation made in 2020,  but we now believe we were horribly misled by him.

‘TW has terminated all professional ties to Brand.’

Metro.co.uk contacted each of the three remaining venues and Russell’s reps for comment.

Russell Brand: U.K. Police Receive New Sexual Assault Allegation Tied to Report

By Jon Blistein

Jon Blistein

Police in London received a report of sexual assault tied to the allegations made against Russell Brand in the media over the weekend.

In a statement shared with Rolling Stone , the Metropolitan Police said: “On Sunday, 17 September, the Met received a report of a sexual assault which was alleged to have taken place in Soho in central London in 2003. Officers are in contact with the woman and will be providing her with support.”

Brand was not named in the police report, and it is standard practice for the Met Police to not name people who may or may not be subjects of an investigation. The statement did, however, refer to recent reporting in The Times UK and Channel 4’s investigative show Dispatches , which is where the allegations against Brand first appeared.

In the joint report, four women — including one who was just 16 at the time — accused Brand of sexual assault and rape. Notably, the new report filed with the police involves an alleged incident from 2003, while the accusations in The Times UK /Channel 4 reports spanned 2006 to 2013.

A rep for Brand did not immediately return Rolling Stone ’s request for comment regarding the report filed with the Met Police. Brand did, however, preemptively deny the allegations in a statement shared online before the article was published or the episode premiered.

Following the allegations, Brand was dropped by his talent agency, Tavistock Wood , which was tangentially tied to one of the allegations made against Brand. The woman who said she was in a three-month relationship with Brand when she was 16, and accused him of being “emotionally and sexually abusive,” said she went to Tavistock Wood in 2020 with her allegations, seeking an apology. Instead got a letter from Brand’s lawyer accusing her of seeking money.

Russell Brand’s Comedy Tour in U.K. Postponed in Wake of Rape and Assault Allegations

The comedian had been scheduled to perform three stand-up shows in the U.K. over the next two weeks

Erin Clack is a Staff Editor for PEOPLE. She has been writing about fashion, parenting and pop culture for more than 15 years.

Russell Brand 's upcoming stand-up tour dates have been postponed following allegations that he raped, sexually assaulted and abused multiple women .

The comedian, 48, had been scheduled to perform three stand-up shows in the U.K. over the next two weeks as part of his Bipolarisation tour.

“We are postponing these few remaining addiction charity fundraiser shows, we don’t like doing it — but we know you’ll understand,” the tour's promoters said Monday in a statement shared by the Theatre Royal Windsor, where Brand was set to appear on Tuesday, according to The Hollywood Reporter .

Though three upcoming dates have since been postponed, the Rock of Ages star did go ahead with his scheduled performance at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre in London on Saturday night. Brand was photographed leaving the venue after the gig and getting into a car, with his eyes hidden behind a pair of sunglasses.

During his show, where he received a standing ovation, he thanked the audience of about 2,000 people for coming and said there were certain topics he could not discuss that night, BBC News reported.

"I really appreciate your support, I love you, and I want to do a fantastic show for you," he told the crowd, per the outlet. "I've got a lot of things to talk to you about. There are obviously some things that I absolutely cannot talk about, and I appreciate that you will understand."

Earlier on Saturday, Brand was revealed as the subject of a joint  investigation  by The Sunday Times ,  The Times  and U.K. current affairs show Channel 4  Dispatches in which five women — four who remained anonymous — including a 16-year-old accused him of rape, sexual assault and physical and emotional abuse.

The incidents allegedly took place between 2006 and 2013 when Brand was working as a film actor and a presenter for BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4.

Brand vehemently denied the allegations in a video posted on social media on Friday.

On Monday, Brand was hit with new allegations , as  The Times  reported that “several women” had contacted the newspaper since it published its investigation on the actor.

Scotland Yard has also been urged to look into the women's claims against Brand by U.K. government minister Caroline Nokes, who said Monday that the “incredibly shocking and criminal" allegations are "first and foremost a matter for the police," The Times reported. Nokes also pointed out that "celebrity can act as a shield" in cases like this.

On Monday, Scotland Yard told PEOPLE that London's Metropolitan Police is "aware of media reporting of a series of allegations of sexual assault."

"At this time, we have not received any reports in relation to this," Scotland Yard's statement added. "We spoke with  The Sunday Times  on Saturday, 16 September. We will be making further approaches to the  Sunday Times  and Channel 4 to ensure that any victims of crime who they have spoken with are aware of how they may report any criminal allegations to police."

Brand said in his video Friday that he “absolutely refutes” the claims made against him.

“I’ve received two extremely disturbing letters, or a letter and an email, one from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper, listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks,” he began. “But amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks, are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.”

He also addressed the timeframe of the women's allegations, saying that all of the relationships were "consensual."

“These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies. And as I’ve written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous. Now during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual.”

“I was always transparent about that then — almost too transparent. And I’m being transparent about it now as well. And to see that transparency metastasized into something criminal, that I absolutely deny,” he added.

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, please contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) or go to  rainn.org .
