Roof Top Tour in Stockholm: A City Adventure

It can be difficult to seek thrills when you’re traveling within cities unless you leave the city limits. Some cities don’t even offer adventure options to explore, so getting a good rush in can take some work and planning. That said, some cities do a good job of incorporating in some adventure activities, whether they be soft or not, to have on offer for those that seek a bit more than a walking tour on their visit. In Sweden, it was the rooftop tour in Stockholm.

I wasted no time signing up for and taking advantage of the hair-raising rooftop tour in Stockholm to check out the views. Not only would it be offering some great photography vantage points, but it would also provide a chance to get the blood pumping which turned out to be a welcomed thing after over a month of touring around Europe with not enough adventure.

Stockholm turned out to be one of the most photogenic cities we have been to and being able to take to the roofs of the city was a highlight from our 2 months in Europe this summer.

After signing up for the tour I did no research about what was involved in the activity. So when I arrived at the meeting point that morning, I was going in blind. The activity leader gave us a quick briefing in the square outside of the building on Riddarholmen and then led us into the Old Parliament Building where we began our ascent to the top via the winding staircase.

Upon reaching the top, we were led inside a small room that resembled an attic space. It was dark and cluttered where the climbing harnesses, safety equipment, and helmets hung on the wall. To one side were lockers to store your personal belongings, to the other side a series of benches.

We were kitted up with equipment and given a safety briefing. They explained to us how the mechanics of our harness would work and how we should use it to navigate the rooftop lines smoothly and without interruption. Then just like that, they opened a small door and we all climbed the steps, one by one, into the light and onto the rood of the building.

I have to admit, it is completely different than I had imagined when I signed up. I had envisioned a tour that was led across the rooftops along secured walkways with safety railings.

What I actually signed up for was a rooftop tour in Stockholm that involved safety harnesses, tethers, lead tracks and a narrow metal foot track with no railings along the spines of the Old Parliament building.

While I think some people would have been terrified at that revelation, I was elated. Our summer in Europe has been wonderful, but pretty void of any good adrenaline options due to our schedule.

The prospect of balancing across these walking paths, despite being tethered, was going to be a thrill for me. So, one by one, we were hooked to the safety line and sent along the first short section to a platform to begin our tour.

The track itself snaked around the top of the building, climbing at parts onto other parts of the building and then descending. As we navigated the route, I found it difficult at times to get my tether to follow efficiently behind me.

This caused me to have hang-ups while walking on the track. I didn’t find it scary, just annoying because I wasn’t able to walk continuously and look around. I had to focus on the tether line and freeing it each time it got stuck.

I thought maybe it was just me and I wasn’t lining up the tethered head correctly, but as the tour continued everyone experienced similar hang-ups. You’d have to re-position yourself to make the tether track smoothly, which posed a problem sometimes when there were no handrails to hang on to. Sometimes I ended up using my foot to gently guide the tether forward and free it from being hung up.

From the top, we were rewarded with 360-degree views of Stockholm accompanied by excellent commentary from our activity guide about the history of the city. She even told us some funny stories and got us involved by quizzing us before providing answers on the facts.

At the end of the tour, we all gathered on the last platform and took turns taking pictures of each other with the fabulous city of Stockholm in the background. The rooftop tour in Stockholm did not disappoint, providing fantastic views, a balance challenge and a little adrenaline to top it all off.

Tips for the Stockholm Roof Top Tour

After experiencing this activity, I think it is only fair that I pass on some tips to those of you who are considering this tour on your next visit to Stockholm.

Are you afraid of heights? This tour is not for the faint of heart or anybody that experiences vertigo. There are no handrails when you are on the rooftop and you need to be able to maintain composure and balance for the duration of the tour. If you are scared of heights or experience vertigo, I do not recommend that you take this tour.

Make sure your tether is straight: When you are getting your harness on and connecting your tether in the attic room, make sure your tether is straight. If not, you will have a twist in it and this will make it hard to lead the tether during the tour.

Bring along a camera strap: If you want to take pictures from the rooftop, you will have to secure your camera to your body. This means you need a long, cross-body type strap. Yes, even for your point and shoot. They do not allow wrist straps. They do provide cell phone pouches with a neck strap so you can bring your phone if you like.

Wear long sleeves and long pants: Even at the height of summer, Stockholm brings a cool wind. When you get up above the city, there are no obstructions and the wind will be howling at you. Be prepared for this by dressing in long pants and bringing a long sleeve shirt.

Above all, enjoy the experience, it’s a spectacular one.

Great photos! I believe that all the Scandinavian countries should be on every traveler’s list. They’re full of amazing landscapes and landmarks. I was in Stockholm last year in late September and it was mind-blowing. The colors were exquisite.

Yes, for sure! I can see that being a beautiful time of the year to visit Scandinavia.

I saw it once in tv program about travelling. And when I will be in Stockholm Im sure Im gonna go for it too 😉

Hey Lina, you wrote about our experience really well! And beautiful photos btw! See you perhaps in the Philippines 🙂

Thanks Veronika! Glad you like the photos. 🙂 Yes! We will be in the Philippines for TBEX, see you there!

Adventure is my State of Mind

A Rooftop Tour of Stockholm, Sweden

rooftop tour in stockholm

This unusual tour starts by taking an elevator in an unprepossessing building, Arriving at the top floor, we climb a narrow stairway into a cramped attic space where brightly colored climbing gear and shining hardware is neatly organized. I don harness and a helmet, and walk out onto a rooftop from which I have climber’s eye view of old town Stockholm. It is, to say the least, a novel way to tour a European capital city.

In Your Bucket Because… How many chances do you get to don climbing gear and scramble around the roof of a European capital’s old Parliament building? It puts an interesting twist on the normal walking tour script. Good for adventure travelers.

“You will be walking the dog,” our guide explains, although there is no dog in sight. What there is is a cable that runs from the harnesses to a fixed line along a foot-wide metal catwalk. The catwalk  forms  a 300-meter obstacle course up, down, and around the rooftop of the Stockholm’s old Parliament building, which takes up roughly a city block. The course looms six stories above the streets of the old town below. It doesn’t sound like much, but the roof has a steep pitch, and the catwalk is narrow.

I yank at the cable and  find that the dog-walking analogy is quite accurate: As with a real-life dog, the cable seems to have a mind of its own, and sometimes balks at going forward or gets stuck going around a corner. It takes a firm hand, a bit of nudging, and the occasional sharp tug, to keep it moving.

Viewing Swedish History from a Vertical Distance

Our group of 10  brave souls moves over the catwalks, pausing each of a series of three platforms to hear the guided commentary, which  covers the history of the Old Town buildings, the royal family, and interesting methods of execution in the medieval period.  We learn that convicted female criminals were buried alive, not hanged, because it was considered unseemly and perhaps morally dangerous, in an age before underpants, for men to have the opportunity to look up a dangling woman’s skirts. We also learn that the town executioner was himself a convicted criminal who had been sentenced to death, his sentence delayed as long as he was able to execute others.

It’s similar to what a tourist on a more traditional walking tour of Stockholm’s Old Town might hear, except that we are teetering on catwalks with steep drop-offs, and no railings. That quarter-inch cable is the only promise that a slip won’t become a multi-story plummet, and for those without a mountaineering background, it seems scant assurance. Indeed, some visitors find it hard to keep their minds on Swedish kings and medieval executioners while looking some 60 feet straight down a steep sided centuries-old roof. But the verdict? Exhilarating.

The tour also includes, either at the beginning or the end, a more traditional walking tour around the old town; that is, on the ground. Those who begin with the ground-level tour can get an orientation to what they will see from the air, while those who end with a return to terra firma will undoubtedly appreciate their new and very different perspective of one of Europe’s most beautiful capital cities.

Practicalities

There’s a weight limit of 265 pounds. The tour takes about 2 hours, and is offered all year in almost all weather: rain and snow, yes; thunderstorms and high winds, no. Those with a fear of heights should probably pass this tour up, but other than a strong stomach for looking down, it requires no special skill or fitness level.

The Urban Deli, the most perched garden

The Urban Deli is the most amazing garden in Norrmalm. A wooden terrace that criss-crosses the roof of a building. Palisades that structure this esplanade, taking you from one space to another. Lawns, small gardens, play areas, everything has been thought out to enhance your evening... You might think you're in the countryside, if it weren't for this 360° panorama of Stockholm stretching out in front of your eyes. Here you are at the top of a nine-story building! You can walk around it, cocktail in hand, and admire the sunset over the city's rooftops. On the other hand, this " roof park " is very popular. Remember to book your table in advance. It is an outing that is one of the essentials!

The Himlen, the most impressive rooftop

Want to go even higher? Meet at the Himlen rooftop, on Götgatan Avenue, in the Södermalm district. From the top of its 25 floors, it is the most dizzying address in Stockholm! The ascent of the Skrapan Tower alone is worth the detour. You're not actually on the roof, but its huge glass windows give you an incredible view of Stockholm. Inside, this panoramic bar has the advantage of welcoming you all year round, in a cozy and refined atmosphere. It's the perfect place to sip a cocktail and relax after a shopping spree in SoFo!

The Rooftop Garden, the most glamorous

The Rooftop Garden is a paradise, well hidden on the roofs of Vasaplan, in the Norrmalm district. A rooftop to take care of yourself and clear your head, that's a nice idea! Depending on your wishes and the time available, you can have a drink in a perched orangery, take a dip in the swimming pool with an extraordinary view of the island of Kungsholmen, or relax during a well-being treatment at the spa. And that's the bonus of this address: The Selma City Spa, which is on the top floor of the Clarion Hotel.

The Barrio, the most bohemian of rooftops

The Barrio is nestled in an unusual building, in the middle of small old buildings, on the island of Södermalm, not far from Högalid Park. Below the level of the roofs, we are far from the sensational views of some rooftops, but its decoration gives it a crazy charm. Large painted wooden panels, furniture that seems to have been antique or salvaged, green plants and a view of the harbor in the distance. This rooftop has a bohemian air. The atmosphere is friendly, intimate and warm. It's a place where you feel good for an aperitif with friends!

The most unusual Gondolen

The Gondolen is a gourmet restaurant on the Port of Stadsgarden. What sets it apart is its footbridge perched 38 meters above the port. The restaurant is installed in the covered part under the platform. This rather narrow corridor gives it the appearance of a liner. The bar is located in the open air, on this unusual " roof ", so it really is a rooftop! Its view of Gamla Stan and the mouth of Lake Mälaren is breathtaking. Having a drink there at sunset, watching the incessant ballet of the ferries, is a magical moment.

The good idea

Here is our Stockholm rooftop tour coming to an end. This selection is obviously not exhaustive and we wish you wonderful tastings and unforgettable evenings.

Experience Stockholm by Rooftop

August 22, 2017 | sarah.

rooftop tour in stockholm

Stockholm’s crisp, yet trendy, atmosphere is incredibly beautiful. Colorful historic buildings line many of its 14 islands, creating a magnificent nordic metropolis that shines even in its frigid winter months. The city seems incredibly spread out, yet in many ways it’s essentially compact due to the 57 bridges that connect its islands. Due to its unique landscape, a beautiful way to see Stockholm is from above.

The colorful streets of Stockholm's Old Town

As an very forward thinking city, I was excited to began to explore. After all, Swedes are among the happiest people in the world. I needed to discover why that was. I met my friend Nadya from Visit Stockholm for “fika” – what the locals call “conversation over coffee” – and she shared ton’s of information about one-of-a-kind experiences in Stockholm. One of the tours she mentioned that stood out to me the most was a rooftop tour of Stockholm with  takvandring.com .

MY EXPERIENCE ON THE ROOFTOP

Climbing on the roof

I’ve been on hundreds of city tours, yet none have traversed across buildings. I had to do it. Now.

Me in all my gear on the roof

On a breezy Sunday, I met the crew from  takvandring.com  and they put harnesses on me then began the tour. If you’re not afraid of heights (it is 141 feet or 43 meters above the ground) then this tour is an epic way to see Stockholm. I was locked into my harness, and the harness was locked into a security system that covered all of the roofs we walked on. It was as safe as possible.

LEARN THE HISTORY OF STOCKHOLM IN A UNIQUE ATMOSPHERE

One of our lovely guides!

Throughout the hour long tour, our guides brought the group up and down the roof of the old Parliament building on Riddarholmen. She shared anecdotes and the history of Stockholm as a city and Sweden as a country. As if the views weren’t astonishing enough; the stories were shocking. One of the most surprising tales was that hundreds of years ago they used to make a beer called bishops finger. Can you guess why?

One of the many panoramic views of Stockholm from the roof

Back in the day, it was believed that drinking beer that had been brewed with the finger (yes, an actual body part) of a bishop would make the drinker strong. This was eventually stopped when Germans arrived in Stockholm and taught new brewing methods. Thank goodness!

THERE IS MORE TO STOCKHOLM THAN ITS HISTORY

Our guide also pointed out modern buildings and share details about living in Stockholm today. The city has a world-class culinary scene, unbeatable museums, great shopping, pretty parks and loads of atmosphere. It was such a treat to see it from the above!

Luis traversing the roof

If you’re visiting Stockholm soon, I recommend surfing through  VisitStockholm.com ’s many articles and suggestions on experiencing the city. I’ve been on their site every day since I arrived! They have fantastic tips!

I was a guest on this experience, however, the opinions are my own. The rooftop tour is one hour and costs $74 per person. To book this experience visit  takvandring.com.

Exploring the rooftops of Stockholm

  • March 23, 2017

Did you ever think “If I could just climb up there, I’d get the perfect shot”? Well, that’s exactly what I did in Stockholm. I’m not sure what these people were thinking when they created a rooftop tour in Stockholm, but I’m glad they went through with it. Big shout-out to Takvandring  for taking sightseeing to the next level!

Would you climb onto a roof for this kind of experience?

Safety first

Harnesses for a rooftop tour

As we prepped to go out on the roof, we got in all the safety gear. We had harnesses, carabiners and helmets. Felt like I was rappelling into a cave! Not that I’ve done that. But I totally would… I have climbed down a 7 story building before, though! 😀

Even our phones got safety gear so they wouldn’t fall off the roof. That was super thoughtful! Who doesn’t have their life on their phone? The little pouches are designed so that we could still use our phones–I mean, how else was I going to Snapchat?!

Rooftop tours of Stockholm

I’m not afraid of heights. In fact, I love getting up high to get an amazing view. But more than that, I love doing something a bit quirky –something others don’t think to do, but should really be on your list.

Let the adventure begin

Rooftop tour in Stockholm

There was a woman on our tour who was afraid of heights but did amazingly well! I can only imagine what was going through her mind before we stepped out onto the roof. The only thing going through my mind was “ Let’s gooooooo! ” as my heart started to beat just a little bit faster as we ascended the stairs.

I definitely have an adventurous side that doesn’t get out to play very often. That needs to change. But going up on a roof to catch all the sights from above while being attached by carabiners and straps seems to be right up my alley.

Roof top hiking

Rooftop hiking in Stockholm

The views were incredible. I kind of wish I was on my own so I could go at my own pace and take it all in…and stay up there forever.

Rooftops of Stockholm

The group went fairly slowly so everyone was comfortable. You had to pay attention because there was a very specific way to get your clips around the joints in the railing you’re attached to and it takes a little finesse to get it through and around the corners. But once you get used to it, it’s a flick of the wrist and you’re on the next view point!

Rooftop tour safety

On this tour, you’re walking and climbing (stairs) on a roof. So there’s never a dull moment ! A guide is always at the front of the line and at the back of the line to keep you safe.

Bloggers on the roof

We learned a lot about the area and what kind of people lived where and why certain homes are built the way they are. Stockholm is a fascinating place. It’s made up of many islands and each have their own personality. That’s why it was easy to come up with 10 reasons you’ll love Stockholm . I wish we could spend a month there every summer!

Stockholm is stunning from above

Great views of the Stockholm rooftops

My mind drifts a lot when it comes to this city. Every experience we had there was great. From the summer weather, to discovering my happy place on Djurgården, to eating incredible food , it all made for a trip that makes me want to go back again and again. For now, let’s get back to the rooftop trekking experience so I can relive it with you!

Rooftop tour

This view over the city is really one-of-a-kind. You can see Södermalm, Gamla Stan, Östermalm , and you overlook the water too! The colors, the shapes, the twisting roads, even the sky, all comes together for an experience like I’ve never had before. I didn’t want to go inside and have it all end.

Rooftop tour of Stockholm

If there had been a chair I could have locked myself to, I would have done it just to stay for sunset. All good things come to an end though, but I am a happier person for having gone on this mini adventure . A big smile was fixed on a my face for the rest of that day.

Stockholm roofs

You can probably tell that I HIGHLY recommend this tour . I want to keep writing about how awesome it is just so I can keep “talking” about it and experiencing those feelings again. But I think you get the idea.

If you’re screaming “I want to do that!” Good. Because I could almost guarantee you won’t regret it (unless you really are crazy scared of heights).

Here’s how you do this

Stockholm roofs

Easy! Just not cheap since you have to book your flight to Stockholm , then book your tour on the Takvandring website . Best to do it in that order.

How to get there

Rooftop tour in Stockholm

Take the metro to the Gamla Stan stop , then take the exit towards the water. You’ll be going under a bridge. Once you walk out, you’ll be right at the water’s edge! Make a right and head to your meeting spot. You may want to download Google maps of this area just to feel secure in knowing where you’re going. I’d actually get there early and take a quick walk around this part . It’s quite small and charming. In the height of summer there was hardly anyone around. I love finding quiet spots! If you do too, then this walk is definitely for you.

What to wear

Rooftop tour in Stockholm

You’ll be wearing a harness, so I suggest clothes that fit snugly to avoid bunching in the wrong places . Wear sneakers or shoes you feel super comfy in and won’t slip off.

Photos from the rooftops

This was hands-down the best thing I did in Stockholm . It gave me a different perspective of the city to fall in love with–and I don’t know about you, but I found this place so easy to fall for. I truly hope you get to visit Stockholm. Of course this tour is amazing, but even if you don’t take it, find your own way to explore and find your little part of the city.

Stockholm’s Rooftop Tours

Former Traveler photo intern JT Blatty has been spending time in Stockholm , and went out looking to get a new perspective. Read her recent posts on Sweden’s parks and natural foods .

On December 16th, the Swedish tour company Upplev Mer will host the grand opening of Roof Tours By Night: The Dark Secrets of Stockholm , the most recent addition to their first-of-its-kind guided rooftop tours, which began in 2007.

Picture yourself 140 feet above the ground, looking down on the historic quarters of Stockholm’s Gamla Stan (old town). You’re standing on the rooftop of the Old Parliament building, a 13th-century monument on the island of Riddarholmen. Secured by a safety harness to a narrow, metal track running along the perimeter of the roof, you begin to walk in single file behind your tour guide, sliding the safety leash along the track, only an arm’s length from the cast-iron spire of Riddarholmen’s old church, built by Franciscan monks in the 1200s.

With a 360-degree view of Stockholm, overlooking eight of 14 islands upon which the city was built, your guide begins to paint a canvas of Stockholm’s history, bringing it to life with the symbolic icons in view: The Royal Palace, the fortress of Gamla Stan, the three golden crowns of the Nobel Prize shining on the tower of the City Hall, and the 18th-century prison, which once housed over 600 inmates, but was converted into a hotel in 1975, offering a night behind bars for a reasonable price.

Stockholm4.jpg

Now with the recent installment of guiding lights along the track, visitors can opt for an after-hours tour. The Dark Secrets of Stockholm

tells stories of murder, mayhem, and mysterious ghost sightings from the city’s history.

Upplev Mer’s innovative approach to historic tourism has taken off since 2007. With the assistance of the Swedish National Property Board, an organization responsible for the preservation of Stockholm’s most historic monuments, Upplev was granted access to construct the original rooftop track, making a structure once closed to the public more than available to visitors.

“Our goal was to get people interested in history… from a different angle,” says Upplev Mer owner Anna Broman.

So, far it seems to be working.

With a fully booked season in 2009, and the increasing demand of a tour that accommodates only 10-15 individuals at a time (due to track weight restrictions), Upplev is currently constructing a second track in Gamla Stan with a slightly different view, scheduled to debut in the spring or summer of 2010. This will coincide with the opening of their newest venue on the Old Parliament building’s tour, tailored for travelers looking to “tie the knot” in a non-traditional way. Rooftop Marriages will begin next spring with Princess Viktoria of Sweden’s marriage to Daniel Westerling on June 19th.

  • Nat Geo Expeditions

Getting There: Upplev Mer offers public tour bookings through their website, and private tours can be arranged by contacting them directly. The nighttime tours will be offered to the public on Thursdays and Saturdays starting in January and will cost about $60.

Fantastic rooftop bars in Stockholm

Publish date : 22 April 2024

Endless summer nights are best spent at bars where with nothing but skies above. Watch Stockholm light up underneath the stars at one of these rooftop bars, or enjoy the sunset at a penthouse restaurant!

Most would probably agree that a summer night in Stockholm is best spent in an open-air bar with balmy weather, beautiful sunset, and great company to keep you warm.

Between April and September, there are quite a few open-air bars in town . And for those who don't mind a lovely view to boot, perhaps over the rooftops of Stockholm, we have put together an ample assortment below.

This doesn't mean that you have to wait for the summer season to enjoy a dinner with a side of breathtaking vistas in Stockholm; a wide selection of penthouse restaurants and bars remain open all year round.

Summer evening in Stockholm. Champangebaren at Södra Teatern is full of people having drinks in the warm summer weather, with a view of Slussen and Old Town. The venerable Mossebacke Etablissement (which Södra Teatern) is one of Södermalm’s most popular

Five penthouse bars (indoor)

  • Freyja – Freyja opened in 2022 as Stureplangruppen's first location on Södermalm. The New Nordic restaurant is just a short walk from Slussen and offers a great view of central Stockholm.
  • Gondolen – Classic Stockholm restaurant overlooking Slussen. Gondolen reopened under new management in 2023, having been closed due to renovations for several years. New menu, a different ambiance, and the same stunning vista.
  • Himlen – Located on Götgatan, on the top floor of what once upon a time was Skatteverket's (the Swedish Tax Agency) fortress. The imposing skyscraper was turned into a residential building in the mid-aughts and Himlen is its penthouse bar.
  • Spesso – Laid-back Italian restaurant in central Stockholm, overlooking the busy streets. Tasty food, good wine, and a great view.
  • Tak – Japanese fusion restaurant at Brunkebergs Square, in the center of downtown Stockholm. The summer open club Stockholm Under Stjärnorna is located on the floor above, on the rooftop.

RESTAURANG TAK

Five rooftop bars (open-air)

  • Guldterrassen (at the Royal Dramatic Theatre) – The Royal Dramatic Theatre (or just "Dramaten") is one of Sweden's most prominent cultural institutions. During spring and summer, its second-floor terrace turns into a lively bar overlooking Nybrokajens jetty and Berzeli Park.
  • Mosebacketerrassen – Södra Teatern has entertained stockholders since 1859 with music, dance, and theatre. Its outdoor terrace, with a marvelous view over central Stockholm, has become a beloved summer hang-out spot.
  • Italienskan – Centrally located Italian bistro. The summer open terrace bar (aptly named La Terrazza) has become a cozy oasis, overlooking Hötorget square.
  • Stadsgårdsterminalen – Stadsgårdsterminalen opened up in Birka Line's former ferry terminal in 2023, a repurposed building as a cultural hub. Concert venue, bar, exhibition halls, and much more. The terrace, overlooking the waters of Slussen, is open during spring and summer.
  • Stockholm Under Stjärnorna – nightclub and bar at Brunkebergs Square, with a panoramic vista over central Stockholm. While closed during the colder months, its sister-restaurant Tak remains open all year round.

Why Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Haven’t Been Seen Together for a Month

The last outing they had was in Lake Como, Italy, and for very understandable reasons.

preview for Taylor Swift’s Iconic Career Evolution

They parted ways at the end of the week, with Swift beginning her Stockholm, Sweden, shows on Friday, May 17, and Kelce hosting his music festival, Kelce Jam, in Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday, May 18. The couple hasn’t been seen together since.

Kelce has had different work commitments throughout his NFL offseason, some connected to football and others linked to his burgeoning acting career. Swift, of course, has been playing her tour dates across Europe.

A source told Us Weekly on May 23 though that Kelce really does intend to see Swift when he can. “He wants to support her as much as he can while he can, so he’s going to [go] back and forth from the U.S. to Europe while he has the time,” the source said.

Below, a breakdown of where the couple has been since their Italy vacation and why their schedules haven’t intersected. Note that Swift has been able to spend her breaks between shows largely out of the public eye.

May 24–25: Swift in Lisbon, Kelce in Dallas

May 29–30: swift in madrid, kelce in kansas city, may 31–june 1: swift in london, kelce in d.c. and kansas city, june 2–3: swift in lyon, kelce laying low, june 7–9: swift in edinburgh, kelce in ohio, june 11: swift in london, kelce in kansas city, june 13: swift in liverpool, kelce in kansas city, when could swift and kelce reunite, go even deeper on taylor swift.

May 17–19: Swift in Stockholm, Kelce in Kansas City

Paparazzi photos started coming out of Swift and Kelce’s Lake Como trip around this time.

Following the couple’s Italian vacation, Swift played in Stockholm for three days from May 17 to May 19. Swift was on Kelce’s mind though during Kelce Jam on May 18. He shared a little about the hosting advice she gave him to E! : “[She said,] ‘Go out and have fun.’ She wishes she was here, I know that, but she’s got a lot of people she’s performing for.”

Kelce finished filming Ryan Murphy’s upcoming series Grotesquerie before Swift’s next tour dates. A source told Us Weekly on May 23 that the Chiefs player was done with his big acting debut: “Travis had an incredible time filming . He had fun doing it.”

Kelce traveled from Kansas City to Dallas while Swift did her weekend shows in Lisbon , Portugal. Kelce and Mahomes were photographed at the Dallas Mavericks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves game on May 26.

Following her shows, Swift took a well-deserved break from the spotlight and kept a low profile until her next concert in Madrid.

Swift did two midweek shows in Madrid, Spain, while Kelce participated in a voluntary Chiefs organized team activity in Kansas City on May 30.

Swift made a visit to London between her Madrid and Lyon, France, shows to see her friend Cara Delevingne perform in Cabaret on May 31. Delevingne later shared a photo of Swift backstage with her. Swift was in a Stella McCartney sweater:.

Kelce had a big Friday too, traveling to Washington, D.C. with the Chiefs to meet President Joe Biden. The team celebrated their Super Bowl win at the White House.

president biden and travis kelce

On June 1, Kelce was back in Kansas City, performing at the 2024 Big Slick Celebrity Weekend in Kansas City. He dodged a Taylor Swift engagement question during a comedy sketch where Jason Sudeikis asked, while in character, when Kelce planned to make an “honest woman” out of Swift. Kelce just smiled and scratched his beard in response.

2024 big slick celebrity weekend

A few weeks earlier on May 21, a source told Us Weekly that Kelce was just enjoying the current moment with Swift. “Travis has no plans on proposing to Taylor anytime soon,” the source said. “It’s not even on his radar. Marriage is something he takes very seriously and not something he would ever just jump into without giving it some careful consideration.”

After an eventful three days for Kelce, the Chiefs player spent his Sunday and Monday out of the spotlight. Swift, meanwhile, did her two last shows in France, playing in Lyon . She notably sang “Fifteen” during the first night. Fans filmed her smiling in reaction to the song’s football lyric, “But in your life, you’ll do things greater than / Dating the boy on the football team / But I didn’t know it at 15.”

Swift managed to stay out of the spotlight after her Lyon shows ended. She kicked off her tour’s U.K. leg on June 7, performing in Edinburgh, Scotland, for three nights .

taylor swift performing in edinburgh, scotland

Meanwhile, Kelce spent June 8 in Eastlake, Ohio. He played in the David Njoku Celebrity Softball Game and won the home run derby trophy with 11 home runs.

Swift will play her Liverpool shows starting on June 13. But in between those tour dates, the singer traveled back to London, where she was photographed having a girls’ night out with Kate Moss, Stella McCartney, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Cara Delevingne, and Lena Dunham among others, the Daily Mail reported. The outlet ran a photo of Swift out in a gray blazer, black corset top, and dark pants.

Meanwhile, Kelce spent June 11 in Kansas City at a mandatory Chiefs minicamp. He dodged a Taylor Swift question during a post-practice press conference. A reporter asked what dish he and Swift most like to cook together. Kelce replied, via Entertainment Tonight , “That’s a good question. I’ll keep the answer to myself, but I thoroughly enjoy cooking with her. I’d rather keep it personal.” He told reporters later, “Taylor makes a great Pop-Tart and cinnamon roll.”

Kelce missed Swift’s milestone 100th Eras Tour show , which she played in Liverpool on June 13. It was her first of three concerts there.

The Chiefs player remained in Kansas City, where he attended the team’s Super Bowl ring ceremony on Thursday evening at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

Swift joined an Instagram Live that his teammate Mecole Hardman’s partner, Chariah Gordon, shared of the event. She commented her support of Kelce, saying she was joining late from Liverpool, which is six hours ahead. It marks her most public tribute to Kelce since their Lake Como trip.

taylor swift's comments from the livestream

Kelce has a work commitment taking him back to Europe very soon, actually. Page Six reported that on June 20, he and his brother, Jason, will be recording an episode of New Heights during the Cannes Lion International Festival of Creativity in France.

Swift is on break from her tour that day, meaning she could join him in Cannes. He could also join her in London the next day, where she will begin playing her Eras Tour shows in the city on June 21.
