Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310) Racket Review

The Prince Textreme Tour 100 promises the unreal blend of modern player’s racket manoeuvrability and classic pro-style control that gets us excited for a racket playtest!

I’ve always enjoyed Prince’s heavier rackets and find they are an excellent option when it comes to pro-style frames.

Yet, so far, I’ve yet to find a Prince stick that I really like in the 305g to 320g range.

At 310g, the Textreme Tour 100 is right in my ideal weight range, I tend to find I get the most out of rackets around the 310-318g mark, so I was excited to see what this stick could do for me.

I’m a lover of control from a tennis racket above all else, so the 322 swingweight of the Textreme Tour should hopefully give it some extra control and feel that we’ve loved in some of the heavier Prince rackets.

Discover your perfect racket and string combo!

This racket sees an update to Prince’s signature Textreme Technology, with the introduction of Textreme X adding a substance called Twaron to the frame to increase dampening and improve the feel.

This allows Prince to give this racket a lot of stiffness, without having to compromise on comfort.

With a swingweight of 322 and a 65-stiffness rating, the Textreme should feel extremely solid for a racket of 310g, allowing players to attack the ball with good precision.

I have been a little bit critical of Prince’s lighter rackets in the past.

One thing I value in tennis rackets is consistency throughout a range.

Obviously, different rackets within a range are going to vary a lot based on the weight, but you want there to be defining characteristics throughout the range.

Many times, I haven’t found that with Prince, but the  Textreme Tour 100  gives me hope.

Warming up with this racket, you notice it has very good balance, and great manoeuvrability.

The 7 PT head light balance makes the racket easy to swing and encourages aggressive strokes.

This is complemented nicely by the 16 x 18 string pattern, which gives you enough pop and spin to bring the ball nicely back into court.

From first impressions, this racket has all the makings of a great racket for an aggressive baseline player.

It has the manoeuvrability that is required in modern tennis but draws on the control of a more traditional racket.

It might not be the best idea for beginners or lower level intermediate players, but more advanced players will find this racket gives them a lot of options.

Moving to the back of the court, I was struck by just how fast this racket was.

It really flies through the air, and anyone looking to increase their racket head speed will surely love this stick.

However, you can’t tell much about a racket from the warm up, so we set about putting this racket through a vigorous playtest.

Over a couple of sessions, we put the Prince Textreme Tour 11 through sets, drills and challenges to find out exactly what you can expect from this racket!

Groundstrokes

8 out of 10

One aspect that I really enjoyed about this racket was its balance.

I like a racket that feels equally good on all shots without any particular “stand-out” shot, and that is what I found with the  Textreme Tour 100 .

Whether it was the serve, return, groundstrokes or volleys, this racket did everything very well and there wasn’t any area I was disappointed in.

What the Textreme Tour does very well is blend the characteristics of a modern, speedy player’s racket with the stability and control of a classic frame.

For my own preferences, it probably leans a little bit too much towards the modern player’s racket, but I think this is something that will suit most people.

I found the 7PTS headlight balance to be a little bit too much for me.

I’m somebody who naturally has very fast groundstrokes, so the manoeuvrability of this racket was a slight overkill.

I did have trouble timing a few balls, but once I got my eye in it didn’t result in too many problems.

Because you get so much racket head speed, I found that the 16 x 18 string pattern gave me a ton of spin, which again, was a little bit too much.

I’m somebody who naturally hits with a lot of topspin, so I lean towards a racket that helps me flatten the ball out.

So, I think that I would probably be more suited to the Prince Textreme Tour 100P, but I won’t let that detract from what a good stick this is.

For players who are looking to add a little bit of racket head speed and spin to their game this is a great option for adding all those things without losing control and feel.

It makes playing aggressive baseline tennis effortless, but you still get an excellent blend of power, spin and control.

I enjoyed using the extra little bit of spin I got with this racket to work in some really tight angles and use the full width of the court to punish my opponent without having to sacrifice margin for error.

Off the backhand side, I felt that the 16 x 18 string pattern gave a nice little bit of pop and I was able to attack well off this side.

Depth came easily and this allowed me to step into the court and take control of the point; something that I find a little bit harder to do off the backhand side.

The forehand side was where I had most problems with the  Textreme Tour , and I did feel like it took a little bit away from me on this stroke.

I was able to generate a huge amount of topspin on this side, but I felt like some of it was unnecessary, and I spent much of my time trying to hit flatter, with little success.

How you feel about this racket depends largely on where you fall between modern player’s racket and classic pro style racket.

I’d say I lean a bit more towards the pro style, which is why I think I would be better suited to the Tour 100P.

I think there will be more people who prefer this Textreme Tour 100 (310) though and there are tons of players who should take a look at this racket.

Although it wasn’t perfect for me, I gave the Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310) an 8 out of 10 from the back of the court.

It has a lot of strong qualities and can add a great deal to an aggressive baseliner’s game.

As we suggested, the  Textreme Tour 100  is a great all-round racket, and this is backed up by its strong performance at the net.

The blend of manoeuvrability works a treat at the net and gives it volleying powers beyond the average 310g racket.

At the net, you can appreciate the head light balance that makes this racket move into position so quickly.

You won’t find yourself struggling to adjust with the Textreme Tour 100 at the net as it is simply so fast and easy to move.

Once you come to hitting the ball you won’t be disappointed either as the Tour 100 provides a great platform to guide the ball back exactly where you want it.

This stick is extremely stable and absorbs power to allow you to cushion the ball into the right spots.

I found this racket to be particularly strong on difficult pickup volleys, where I had to get into position quickly and take pace off the ball.

The frame stayed very strong throughout the shot and allowed me to comfortably get the ball back into play.

The 16 x 18 string pattern also plays nicely when you’re looking to inject a little bit of power into the ball on overheads and put away volleys.

Would I say this racket is as good at the net as something like the mighty  Textreme Beast Pro 100 Longbody?  Well, no, but it was never likely to be.

What the  Textreme Tour 100  does is take some of those good qualities of the Beast Pro and makes them more accessible to the average person.

This results in a very good performance at the net and a well-deserved 8 out of 10.

8.5 out of 10

The serve was where the  Textreme Tour 100  really got the most out of my game.

I value the racket head speed just a little bit more on serve than on the other strokes and I found that the Textreme gave me the perfect blend of speed and power.

When you find a racket with the perfect setup, serving just becomes one of those things you can’t help but enjoy.

Everything I tried on serve with this stick went well, whether I was hitting flat first serves, top spin second serves, or my slice slider out wide, I found I had the control and power I needed.

The headlight balance helps to get the racket moving quickly from the beginning of the motion, and from there, there is no backing out.

If you keep the racket head speed up and attack the ball, you’re going to be rewarded with this racket and you will see the free points coming your way.

I played a couple of sets with this racket where I only lost serve once.

Most of those games I breezed through as well, so I would certainly say this was a good playtest from the Textreme on serve.

I gave the  Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310)  an 8.5 out of 10 on serve and got on really well with it.

It’s one of the best serving playtests I’ve done in a long time and it made a big difference to my game.

The  Textreme Tour 100  is an excellent allrounder’s racket for someone who values a racket with manoeuvrability and control.

It is ideally suited to an aggressive player who loves to attack from the baseline but is also comfortable at the net.

For those players who love a little extra spin from their racket, I would certainly suggest they check out this racket, but for those of us who like to flatten the ball out a bit more, I would be more inclined to suggest the Textreme Tour 100P.

Whichever version of this racket you go for, you are going to be in for a treat because they are all excellent rackets.

The feel and control from this stick is just what you want, but you get even more manoeuvrability than I initially expected.

For me, this was a little bit too much, but that’s just a personal preference.

The Textreme Tour is one of those rackets that has no real strength or weakness; it does everything very well and that is something I look for in a racket.

If I had to choose a part of the playtest that I enjoyed the most it would be the serve, where everything seemed to click for me.

The 7 PT HL balance gets everything moving on the serve, and the Textreme gives you such stability on contact that all your energy translates into power.

I said at the beginning, I have loved some of Prince’s heavier rackets, but haven’t yet found a lighter one that I really like, but that has changed now.

This racket provides a very good option for players looking for something in the 305 to 320g range, and I would certainly include it as one of my top picks in this range.

Overall, I gave the Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310) an 8 out of 10.

It is very strong on all strokes, with no obvious weaknesses. One you should look at if you’re an intermediate/advanced player who loves to play attacking tennis.

Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310) Racquet Review

Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310) Racquet Main Image

The latest addition to the Textreme Tour line, the Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310) , proved to be our playtesters' favorite of the bunch. Combining controllable power with easy access to spin, the Textreme Tour 100 (310) is a modern player's racquet with a classic feel. The RA stiffness rating of 65 provides some crisp pop, while Textreme X technology, which adds Prince's coveted Twaron to the layup, softens the response at impact. "Solid" is a word that kept surfacing during this playtest, undoubtedly a result of the 327 swingweight and tapered 22-23-20 mm beam. Thankfully, this stability did not come at the expense of maneuverability, and our testers noted how fast this racquet felt on all shots. Although the Textreme Tour 100 (310) won't blow you away with massive power or spin, it does focus on the more refined and elegant qualities that come together to make an outstanding player's racquet.

  • Great blend of power, maneuverability and spin
  • Very stable for its weight
  • Nothing we could agree on

Bottom Line

The Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310) plays like a modern player's racquet while offering classic feel and control. Although it doesn't possess overwhelming power, players interested in an all-around great racquet will be impressed with all the Textreme Tour 100 (310) has to offer.

Intermediate to advanced

Groundstrokes - Score: 89

As opposed to the other more control-oriented members of the Textreme Tour family, the Textreme Tour 100 (310) adds some easier depth and stability without sacrificing much in the control department. From the baseline, all of our testers welcomed this adjustment and had success with their respective playing styles. Erik , who continues to use this racquet even after the playtest, fell in love from the first hit. He said, "The Tour 100 (310) was extremely solid on my groundstrokes. I really enjoyed its stability and whippy feel. I felt like this racquet was stable enough that it didn't get pushed around that often, and there was a good blend of control and power. My slice tended to stay low and effective despite the 16x18 string pattern. I loved that I could hit my slices deep almost wherever I wanted. This racquet was very maneuverable, which made it easy to generate head speed and get it into position. It worked extremely well for my game style; I could slice and hit out on my groundstrokes without fear of the ball going long because of the spin I generated. The head felt like it had a massive sweetspot and was very forgiving even outside of the sweetspot. The Textreme Tour 100 (310) was so awesome from the baseline."

Sean appreciated how balanced the Textreme Tour 100's specs were. He said, "Although there were no standout 'wow' features during this playtest, the beauty of the Tour 310 lies in its tasteful balance of qualities. Easy power, spin and control were all there, but not in excessive amounts. I found I could really groove my baseline game without fear of overhitting, and the nice soft feel at impact rendered a very fluid and comfortable hitting experience. Although the string pattern is a more open 16x18, the spacing is very even, which created a predictable launch angle and response."

Jason's aggressive baseline style found an able partner in the Textreme Tour 100 (310), as it supplied him with all the spin and power he needed. He described, "It's such a solid racquet from the baseline. There's plenty of weight to make this racquet stable and give it enough plow through to go up against bigger hitters. But thanks to a swingweight in the 320s, I found it to be maneuverable and easy enough to swing as well. I like that this update has a more open string pattern (vs. the previous model's 18x20); it really helps with spin generation. One of my favorite shots to hit was the slice. There was enough mass in the hoop to help knife the ball and keep it low. The one downside for me was mishits toward the tip of the racquet. That area seemed to give off harsher feedback than other off-center hits on the strings."

Chris was impressed with the Textreme Tour's spin-friendly nature from the baseline. He commented, "The Tour 100 (310) was a great fit for me at the baseline. The weight, balance and swingweight all seemed to match my tastes, so this was an easy racquet for me to pick up anytime during the month-long playtest. I was able to get lots of spin off both wings thanks to the fast and maneuverable feel. My topspin shots had some nice action on them. When hitting lobs and angles, I could get the ball to dip quickly inside the lines which allowed me to hit with ample pace. I never felt like I had to hold back even when going for a more aggressive target. I liked the feel of the racquet as well; the response felt plush and I was very connected to my targets. I put that connection to good use when moving the ball around with my backhand slice, and especially so when hitting drop shots."

Volleys - Score: 85

The Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310)'s swing weight of 327 put it right between maneuverable and stable. This blend allowed our testers to get the racquet into position with time to spare, while still holding its own against big pace and spin. This allowed all of our testers to feel confident moving forward with this racquet, which was important when capitalizing on successful groundstrokes. Although the net isn't his most comfortable spot, Jason felt that this racquet served him well when he ventured forward. He commented, "The Tour 100 (310) had great feel and stability up at net. Even with volleys that were slightly off center, the racquet was still able to put really good pop on the ball. I found the combination of the weight and swingweight to be ideal for my skill level around the net."

Never shy to attack, Erik needs a racquet which allows him to play his game when he moves in. He added, "I had no problem maneuvering this racquet, as it was extremely quick up at net. The Tour 100 (310) was very responsive and comfortable. I found myself hitting the ball deep with this racquet, and I was also able to achieve effective drop shots and angles. I felt connected to the ball, and I was getting a solid response off the stringbed. The Tour 100 (310) kept me in complete control when I was volleying."

The combined maneuverability, feel and stability helped Chris get completely dialed in on his volleys. He beamed, "A blend of crispness and plushness greeted me at contact when volleying with the Tour 100 (310). I liked the amount of touch I found on my placement volleys. Hitting my spots felt natural because I was connected to what was going on, and because the racquet was so easy to get into position. I liked the balance and general feel of the racquet in my hands. There seemed to be just enough stability to prevent the racquet from getting pushed around, and that let me enjoy its maneuverability with no downsides."

Sean's expectations were exceeded when he ventured forward. He said, "This wasn't going to be a 'point-and-shoot' type of racquet up at net; the dampening technology, open pattern and beam thickness wouldn't allow it. However, I found this racquet to be very capable of putting the ball away, and the 327 swingweight held up well in the stability department without sacrificing too much maneuverability."

Serves - Score: 84

Easy power controlled by spin was a constant theme on serve for our testers, and the Textreme Tour 100 (310) proved just as capable at starting the point off as it was during it. Our testers found easy, consistent depth on their serves, and used spin to bring the ball in and achieve some nasty angles. Erik used the access to spin to rein in the natural depth he was getting on his serve. He described, "This racquet was great on serves. I could hit my spots effectively with a lot of spin. If I was missing on the serve I was mostly missing long, and I'd rather hit long than into the net. I was extremely confident on serves with this racquet; it was almost effortless. I could hit my kick serve on a dime with extreme accuracy. My favorite serves were the slider out wide on the deuce side and the kick out wide on the ad side."

"There was a nice blend of power and control from this racquet on serves," said Chris . "I was very happy with the amount of pace I got on both first and second serves. Getting enough spin to control the power was easy thanks to the racquet's fast feel through contact. I felt comfortable with my ability to brush the ball and add spin, as the racquet never felt heavy or sluggish. The response was comfortable, and I thought the racquet played great even with a stiffer co-poly string installed."

Comparing a frame to his racquet of choice is big praise for tester Jason . He said, "I really enjoyed serving with the Tour 100 (310). It reminded me a lot of serving with my Babolat Pure Strike. There was great access to spin and enough power to make my serve somewhat of a weapon, but not so much weight that it was cumbersome to swing."

Although he didn't get the type of control he wanted on his flat serves, Sean still found that he could rely on his spin serves. He recalled, "When it came to serving, the Tour 100 (310) was a tool for starting the point off right. The easy spin and power really shone on heavier slice and kick serves, though I felt that this racquet lacked the pinpoint precision I enjoy for spotting flatter offerings. Overall, I'd say that serving never felt like a weak point, although there were times when I was left wanting a tad more control."

Returns - Score: 86

The same themes of controllable power, easy spin and maneuverable stability rounded out this playtest on returns. Whether our testers wanted to block the ball back or take an aggressive cut, the Textreme Tour 100 (310) was the perfect tool for the job. Chris' positivity carried right on into returning, where he enjoyed the easy acceleration and feel that impressed him throughout the playtest. He commented, "We rarely use the term 'wheelhouse' in our review comments, but I'm going to use it here. The spec of the Tour 100 (310) was right in my wheelhouse. I found it super easy to position the racquet and loved the way I could accelerate through contact to increase pace and spin when I wanted. Impressively, comfort and stability were also top notch. The racquet had a nice feel to it. The response felt dampened enough for comfort without leaving me disconnected from my shots."

Sean discovered that the Textreme Tour 100 (310) could truly do it all on returns. He said, "The breadth of options the Tour 310 afforded me on my favorite shot really highlighted the strength of this racquet: its versatility. Whether I was looking to roll the ball in, block it back, or take an aggressive cut, my confidence was booming when returning."

Erik also found plenty of options when returning. He beamed, "I could be quite aggressive on returns with this racquet or chip them back, deep and precise. I could be quite precise with my topspin returns and get them deep in the court as well. When returning a first serve, I felt like I could absorb all of the power and redirect it right back to my opponent or chip back a high floater deep if I was in trouble. When returning a second serve, I loved attacking the ball with this racquet and felt extremely confident. I could get the racquet around my body and into position quickly and easily thanks to the great maneuverability. This racquet was extremely stable and solid on contact, and it didn't get pushed around no matter how hard my opponent hit the serve."

There was one word that just kept popping up for Jason throughout this playtest, and the returns section was no exception. He concluded, "I don't want to keep using the word 'solid,' but I'm going to. This racquet just felt really solid, whether I was simply blocking a serve back or taking a big cut at the ball. And with the great access to spin, I was able to impart lots of topspin on the ball to keep it down and in the court."

Overall - Score: 87

Sean - "The Textreme Tour 100 (310) packs easy power, spin and control into a very comfortable package — what's not to like?"

Jason - "Great feel. Great all around. It's easy enough to pick up and use, but with enough weight to make it a formidable weapon for intermediate to advanced players."

Erik - "Spin-friendly, stability, big sweetspot."

Chris - "I love the combination of spin, power, control, feel and comfort."

Sean - "I don't need quite this much dampening; I usually prefer more feedback from the stringbed."

Jason - "Mishits toward the tip of the racquet feel more jarring than normal."

Erik - "Not much."

Chris - "None. This is my favorite option in the Prince Tour lineup."

Comparing the racquet to others they've tried, our testers said:

Sean - "Even though the string pattern is more open, I thought this Textreme Tour 100 (310) had a more predictable response than the Tour 95 we just tested. It's also a lot more forgiving than the Tour 100P that just came out, which is really appreciated at the end of long hits. I think the Tour 100 (310) is the best racquet from this series' update. From other brands, I was reminded of the Yonex VCORE 98 and the Head Graphene Touch Radical Pro during this playtest."

Jason - "For players that love spin, like me, the Textreme Tour 100 (310) is a definite upgrade over the previous Textreme Tour 100P, which was already a great racquet. Comparing it to a racquet outside of Prince, it plays a lot like the Babolat Pure Strike 16x19, with arguably better feel."

Erik - "The Textreme Tour 100 (310) is the favorite racquet that I've playtested. Compared to the EZONE 98, the Tour 100 (310) is more powerful and more stable; I also get more spin and a bigger sweetspot. The Babolat Pure Drive plays similarly, but this Tour 100 (310) offers more spin and feel."

Chris - "The Textreme Tour 100 (310) offers my playing style a bit of everything while sacrificing hardly anything. Other racquets which fit that bill include the Babolat Pure Strike 16x19, Yonex VCORE 98 305, Head Graphene 360 Speed Pro and Wilson Ultra Tour. Compared to my Tecnifibre TFlash 300 PS, the Tour 100 (310) is more control and feel oriented, so it's more pleasing on drop shots and touch volleys. The amount of spin and power I hit with from the baseline remains very similar, but it just comes a tad easier with my TFlash."

Controllable Power. Easy Spin. Great Feel

Prince updates the Tour 100 (310) with a softer feel and a new material technology but keeps the controllable power and spin-friendly targeting of the previous generation. Like our favorite modern player’s racket, the ATS Tour 100 (310) rewards aggressive players with the precision to swing big and load the ball with pace and spin.  For 2022, Prince gives the Tour 100 a more flexible beam, resulting in even better ball feedback along with less shock to the tendons. Other updates include Anti-Torque System (ATS) which features Textreme and Twaron in both the shaft and at 10 and 2 o'clock in the upper hoop. The upshot is less frame torque at impact, resulting in a more powerful and stable hitting experience. From the baseline the Tour 100 (310) feels stable when redirecting higher levels of pace. The open 16x18 pattern translates into easy spin, and full swings are rewarded with more than enough power to close out points. It also feels solid at net where the touch is outstanding. All in all, with its controllable power and great feel, this update has impressive "out of the box" playability.  The fact that it comes with a more flexible and arm-friendly beam construction is a nice bonus.

The Tour 100 (310g) with ATS is a racquet offering a great blend of control and power suitable for intermediate to advanced players with long and fast swings.

The headsize at 100 square inches is relatively average, resulting in a balance of power and control, thereby providing easier power than the 95 and 98 versions while still maintaining good control with a little more forgiving feel. The string pattern is open and compliments the racquet by enhancing its forgiving feel with easier access to spin and power. The weight at 10.9 ounces unstrung is a heavier racquet which provides lots of stability and power potential for players who can manage to keep swinging the racquet and hitting the sweet spot over the course of a match. The racquet is quite flexible which should provide comfort for players who are sensitive to shock and vibration. The racquet's balance is very head-light which allows fast movement for greater spin and power potential while also enhancing net-play.

For this series, Prince has continued with TeXtreme, an advanced, super thin carbon fiber fabric that maximizes the strength-to-weight ratio for maximized stability. Prince has added its Anti-Torque System which adds TeXtreme with Twaron into the hoop of the racquet for a more consistent string bed which improves on power and ball feel.

The Tour 100 (310g) has a more modern set-up which should allow a wider range of players the ability to achieve a powerful, impactful game providing they can carry the heavier weight through to the end of a match.

  • Head Size: 100 sq inches / 645 sq. cm
  • Length: 27 inches / 68.6 cm
  • Weight: 10.9 oz / 310 g unstrung
  • Balance: 10 pts head light / 310mm unstrung
  • Swingweight: 323 strung / 290 unstrung
  • Beam width: 22mm / 23mm / 20mm
  • Flex: 62 RA
  • Tension Range: 48-58 lbs / 22-26 kg
  • String Pattern: 16x18

  • TeXtreme: TeXtreme Spread Tow woven laminates are developed with a thinner structure and straighter carbon fibers to create a composite material that is 20% lighter in weight with improved stiffness. Positioning TeXtreme in the shaft and lower hoops with a 45 degree orientation reduces frames twisting by up to 25%
  • Twaron: Added to the Textreme-carbon weave, Twaron filaments give extra vibration dampening for excellent comfort characteristics
  • ATS: The Anti-Torque System adds TeXtreme & Twaron at 2/10 o'clock of the hoop to reduce upper torsion, resulting in increased power and ball pocketing

Photos used contain images of strings for illustration purposes. Adult tennis racquets are unstrung unless otherwise noted or stringing services have been selected above. Brand logo stencils are not applied by default with stringing services. If you request brand logo stencils, please note that a stencil is painted onto the strings within a brand's stencil and may wear off over time - this is how stencils are applied on tour. Depending on the string you select, the stencil paint application fullness, colour and visibility may vary. Adult racquets generally do not come with covers. To protect your racquet, we recommend getting a racquet bag .

Product specs such as weight may vary slightly from racquet to racquet to what is advertised due to the manufacturing process.

To determine your grip size without using a racquet, measure from the tip of your ring finger to the major fold crease in your palm. Write down the distance to the nearest 8th of an inch. This is your standard grip size.

Grip size palm measurements for tennis racquets

If you fall somewhere between the measurements, it is recommended to choose the smaller grip size as you can always build the grip size up using an overgrip (for a slight increase) or a grip build-up sleeve  (for a half or full size increase).  The grip measurements above factor in the pre-installed factory grip.

Prince Textreme Tour 310 Review Revisited

prince textreme tour 100 310g

Sometimes I like to revisit racquets I reviewed a while back. This is the Prince Textreme Tour 310 Review revisited.

The Prince Textreme Tour 310 Racquet Review was done in 2019 and it was convincing enough for me to make the switch to for a period of six months or so (which is a long commitment for me when it comes to tennis racquets). I just loved the easy playability, connected feel, good power and spin, decent comfort. It wasn’t all the way to a Pure Drive style racquet, more in the category of a HEAD Speed Pro , kind of in the middle of the Pro and the MP actually.

Now I tried it again with a bunch of different play-testers and they were all enamored with the racquet. One Hungarian tennis coach has already made the switch and placed an order for a couple of Textreme Tours. One Portuguese high-level player thought the racquet played great but felt some discomfort with a stiffer string. My take on it was similar to the first time around,  great playability, all-around performance on all shots. My one-handed backhand felt great for a 100 sq inch racquet (I usually struggle a bit with the maneuverability on that wing), I felt in tune with my forehand and could whip up a nice deal of topspin and the feel on volleys and touch shots was crisp and direct.

What struck me a bit differently this time around was the stiffness. I have a more sensitive arm these days (testing too many racquets, over-playing) and value comfort more than the first time I used it. The Prince Textreme Tour is a little stiffer than I remember it. Not harsh, but if you are sensitive to stiffer frames, this is something to take note of. There are other Prince racquets I like, such as the Phantom 100P or 100X , which are much more comfortable on the arm.

Watch the video review

Despite the slight stiffness concern, the Prince Textreme Tour 100 310g version is as good as I remembered it.

You can check it out on Tennis Warehouse , Tennis Warehouse Europe or Tennis Only . If you purchase anything through my links, you send a small commission to Tennisnerd, for which I am very thankful!

Hi Jonas Its good to hear how you have experienced the stiffness of racquets and how models change within the same brand. Do you think the Dunlop range has some arm friendly models similar to the Clash? regards Ed

I bought a used one last year that had Gut and RPM Blast hybrid strings. There’s decent power and bags of spin on offer. I hit some of the kickiest kickers I’ve ever made and liked it on all shots from the baseline as well. Unfortunately I got some soreness in my forearm near the elbow after playing with it a few times in one week and I recently sold it. Worth a demo for players who look for power and spin, imo.

I use Hyper-G 1.30 in mine. I think that’s an excellent string for the Textreme Tour 100 310. Not only is it comfortable and spin friendly, it also looks fantastic in this racquet. The green inner hoop of the racquet matches the in-your-face green of the Hyper-G perfectly! Maybe your Portugese friend would like this combo as well. No arm issues here!

Hello Jonas,

Thank you for a great review. did you prefer this one or Prince 100x on your backhand side ? which one do you find more manoeuvrable ?

Hi Cukovic, I prefer the Textreme Tour. Thanks / J

Hi Jonas, How would you compare this Prince TT310 with Wilson Clash 98, Babolat Pure Drive Plus and Pure Drive Tour 2021 in terms of spin and launch angle?? Im a young aggressive baseline hitter (5.0 – 5.5) coming from a Babolat Pure Drive gt plus with a repaired break on the tip and around 350~ swgt (according to TW Swingweight estimation technique), so I bought PD Tour 2021 in order to improve maneuverability and controllable power, but I notice it has a lower launch angle than my PD GT + resulting in a less controllable frame for my game (I cannot find the spin I’m used to, and end up hitting mostly too short or too long from the baseline). I have no major problems generating or controlling power with spin, and also have no stiffness/arm issues, but I’m finding really hard to adjust depth control with lower launch angle sticks, so I do my research and pick up these frames, which are quite different in some categories (comfort for Wilson Clash 98, Power for PD+ and all-around/versatility for Prince TT310) but all claim to be spinny-loopier with high launch angles frames for groundstrokes, in the swingweight range I’m looking for (324-330). Since I can’t acces to demos in my country (Argentina), and you have tested these sticks, I would really appreciate your opinion about the spin-launch angle differences between these frames. Thanks for your time!

How would you compare the TT with the phantom 100x 305 in terms om power, spin, control and feel? Many thanks!

Hello Sir – For the last few days I’m liking both 360+ Speed MP (not the 2022 Auxetic one) and TT 100 310. If I have to choose one, can you please recommend one ? Thanks so much !!

I’d go for the Prince unless you have arm issues. The Prince is slightly stiffer.

Prince ATS Textreme Tour 100 (310) Racquet

Prince ATS Textreme Tour 100 (310) Racquet

We will match or beat any posted overall price advertised in-store or online on in stock items.

Controllable Power. Easy Spin. Great Feel

Prince updates the Tour 100 (310) with a softer feel and a new material technology but keeps the controllable power and spin-friendly targeting of the previous generation. Like our favorite modern player’s racquet, the   ATS Tour 100 (310)   rewards aggressive players with the precision to swing big and load the ball with pace and spin. The fact that it comes with a more flexible and arm-friendly beam construction is a nice bonus.

tennis1111, The Prince Textreme Tour 100 P is an 18 x 20 string pattern. Thanks, Brittany, TW

Thanks for info! Do you have information if there will be textreme tour 100 16x18 version for US and EU later? I sow on Prince Japan web site 16x18 Textreme Tour 100 so hopefully...

tennis1111, Unfortunately, we do not have any information at this time. If I were to guess, if it does come to the US it would be in 2016/2017. Thanks, Brittany, TW

Brittany just one more question. Is new paintjob for textreme tour 100 black and green or black and orange? Thank you

tennis1111, The Prince Tour 100 P is black/green and the Tour 100L is black/orange. Thanks, Brittany, TW

Hi Brittany Any chance you can let us know what reactions playtesters have to 100P so far? Thanks!

smalahove said: Brittany, any chance of getting a comparison of the Textreme Tour 100P and the Textreme Tour 95? Click to expand...
TW Staff said: Hi smalahove, The Prince Textreme Tour 95 is my racquet of choice and I'm currently on the playtest review for the Prince Textreme Tour 100P. Both are maneuverable racquets that have a very similar feel on contact, providing a crisp, stable and comfortable response. However, the biggest differences I noticed was the plowthrough and the amount of power and control each racquet offered. The Tour 100P had an even combination of control and power, whereas the Tour 95 offered more control and less power. Though, I thought the Tour 95 had better plowthrough which made it easier to drive through the ball to generate my own power. With the Tour 100P, the power came by more naturally and with less effort. I hope this helps! Karly, TW Click to expand...

GreenClay said: Could you share the stiffness of the 100p (either your impressions or the actual rating) or will we have to wait? I've been struggling with tennis elbow and am either going to demo the 100p (assuming its stiffness is 62 or lower) or just go ahead and buy another Prince Tour 100. Thank you Click to expand...
smalahove said: Thanks Karly! Btw, do you play your TT95 in stock form? Which string and tension do you use? Click to expand...
TW Staff said: GreenClay, Unfortunately, we're still waiting for a few more racquets so we can confirm the RA rating, but as far as personal experience I thought the Prince Textreme 100P had an average stiffness compared to most racquets. It felt firm on contact and didn't flex too much, but it also wasn't uncomfortable by any means. I didn't experience any harsh vibrations on contact, even when hitting outside the sweetspot, and the racquet felt solid and stable so it didn't flutter in my hands at all. Sincerely, Karly, TW Click to expand...

TW Staff said: smalahove, Yes, I play with the racquet in stock form and I string it with Polyfibre TCS at 47lbs. Even if I don't string it with TCS, I'll still keep it at a lower tension for a little extra power with this control-oriented frame. Karly, TW Click to expand...

@tennis1111 , At this stage we don't want to give away too much information about the racquet, stay tuned as we will have our written and video review up for the 9/15 pre-sale date! Thanks, Marco, TW

  • any major differences in specs ? QC ?
  • what is the average sw ?

mirceam, Which racquets are you referring to? Thanks, Brittany, TW

100P

mirceam, From the samples we received, we found the quality control to be exceptionally good as they all spec'd out very close to each each. The average swingweight (strung) is 321. If you are concerned about specs, we do have both racquet matching and customization services available. Thanks, Brittany, TW

I have a question about the Tour 100 310. To what extent is it prone to string breaking? Is there a significant difference with most 16x19 frames? I tend to break strings very quickly and had bad experience with very open patterns in the past (14x18) regarding string breaking, although I enjoyed the feel of such an open pattern. Maybe the 100p rather than the 16x18 version would be a good pick. I'm currently using a Beast 100 strung with full poly but I was considering switching to an hybrid if I change my racquet. Thanks, BillKid
