How to add your Hays Travel Money Card to Apple Pay

Adding your Hays Travel Money Card to Apple Pay is easy. Just following these simple steps:

It’s a really simple process to add a card to your Apple wallet. After you have registered your Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card within the Hays Travel Money Mobile App, it will prompt you to add your Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card to your Apple Wallet through a link within the app home screen. Follow the on-screen instructions, they will guide you through the rest of the process. If for whatever reason you are unable to add your Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card to your Apple Wallet through our app, you can also follow Apple’s own instructions for doing this.

If you have followed all of the steps within the FAQ titled ‘How do I add a Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card to my Apple Wallet?’ and have been unable to add the card successfully, then please feel free to reach out to the Card Services team on 0800 056 0572 who will be able to assist you. If you are currently outside of the UK, check for a free local number here .

There are no additional charges whatsoever when using your Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card through Apple Pay. It’s simply a way of using your phone to pay in place of your physical card, so only the standard Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card fees and charges apply. Yes, absolutely. It is advisable to carry your Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card with you even if you use your Apple Wallet most of the time. Contactless or mobile payments may not be accepted in some places. Having your card with you means you'll always be able to spend with confidence wherever Mastercard Prepaid is accepted.

Yes, you are now able to add currency to your Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card with Apple Pay. When you go to checkout and select a payment method, you can select Apple Pay and add funds from Maestro, Mastercard or VISA debit/credit cards.

• Can I use my Apple Pay and Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card to pay in any currency? You can use Apple Pay to pay in any available currency loaded on your Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card. In the same way that your Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card works, Apple Pay will automatically select the correct currency when the currency type and funds available on your Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card. If the correct currency funds are not available, then payment will be taken in priority order from your Hays Travel Prepaid Currency Card to fund the spend (the order is GBP, EUR, USD, AUD, CAD, NZD, ZAR, TRY, CHF, AED, MXN, PLN, SEK, JPY, THB, HKD, SGD). Additional charges may be incurred if this happens, see full details on fees and limits here .
• Log in and tap ‘card settings’
• Click on the button named ‘suspend card’, you’ll need to confirm this by hitting a second button also named ‘suspend card’
• After a few seconds, you should see ‘card status: SUSPENDED’. When you see this, your card has been temporarily frozen. It will stay that way until you unsuspend it following the same instructions.

Ray, our Foreign Exchange Sales Development Manager, recently returned from a fantastic 2 week holiday visitng Miami, New York and spent 6 nights on a Caribbean Cruise, onboard Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, Odyssey of the Seas!

On his journey, Ray used the Hays Travel Money Currency Card . Here is what he had to say about his experience:

"The Hays Travel Currency card was so easy to use and I really recommend it to everyone going on holiday.   It was just like using my regular debit or credit card , everywhere I visited accepted it. Most of my transactions were contactless, there were no hidden charges, hassle-free to use and was not linked to my bank account!

What was even better and really kept me in control of my spending was downloading the app. It was very easy to set up. As soon as I spent money on the card, it would instantly show me my available balance. I even used the card when I was in Mexico and it just took the funds out of my USA wallet and converted it into Mexican Peso! It was also extremely easy to top the card up while overseas . You simply choose the currency you want to load, enter your card details & the money appears straight away.

On my return, I was surprised that I still had $70 left on my card. I’ve now transferred this on the app to Euros ready for my holiday to Spain in May!

My elderly mum+I are too old or arthritic for apps. When we travel abroad, its to India, where Forex outside of big cities is difficult, or Europe, when with Brexit you now worry about being left with Euros. Last I tried a top up card, I think the Post Office version, it was not widely accepted. And the Dutch supermarket Albert Heim does not take Uk bank cards. We are currently in Faro, a small Portuguese coastal town, yet everyone who takes card payments, accepts the Hays MasterCard. And, should we have any £notes left, we look forward to the Buy back at same rate service. Well thought out!
