Far exceeded expectations. If you are looking for a leisurely trip - this is not it...but what it gives you is an amazing experience. I think I averaged about 14,000 steps, lots of early morning wake ups, but pure joy, fun and laughter. It was an amazing trip,

Our guide Michelle was excellent. The city sightseeing tours on the bus were a waste of time. Our local tour guide in Edinburgh was awful. Why the laughing through most of her talking? Very irritating. The Fish & Chips dinner in the local dumpy restaurant was the worst meal of the trip. Otherwise just what we expected.

Very nice itinerary ... jam packed days and evenings. I chose not to do any of the extra evening excursions that were offered so I was able to use the time to explore every overnight stop on my own. The tour guide was amazing... so full of knowledge about all the countries/areas we visited.

Go Grand UK to Croisi River Boats

Unfortunately the driver went wrong at Dover and, as we had to get a later boat, we missed out on the meal at Hotel Seemowe. However after we landed at Calais the traffic was horrendous which also contributed to the late arrival at the hotel but the driver was brilliant at handling it. When we at last reached the boat on the second day, everything was first class.

An ill-judged package holiday

Everything from Dover where we missed the ferry. In Belgium where we missed the evening meal by arriving so late after traveling from 5.am. that day. The ship cabin noisy from engine particularly when sailing at night - couldn't sleep. The British were the small minority (16 or so?) against the ship of French/German?Belgium who I found very noisy and didn't mix. Communications within the ship were difficult with English coming last and all else were talking again. The food was good and the scenery/visits good although they were generally late in the afternoon. The cabin was cramped although I paid for a double. I have been on many sea cruises and the faults found on this trip would never had occurred to me. In my opinion the trip was overpriced for what it was. Too much crammed into the time with three whole days of exhausting coach travel going from one tachometer reading to the next. Hot drinks on the coach might have helped as would either a second driver or the addition of a host/hostess. Ah 8 day holiday - 3 full days travelling on coach & Ferry so five days on ship for over £2,500 + for an active 84 year old single lady

Good Pickup

To start with the Pick up was easy and smooth. The Hotel was good but old so that, although most travellers were elderly and some slightly infirm, the Lift was useless. There were many stairs. One excursion dropped us off, but the thing most people would like to have seen was closed that day!!! Someones planning was not good - not the Driver or Courier.

A few really interesting people to talk to, pity the weather on the first and most interesting day was poor, but that can happen anywhere. An adequate trip overall.

The Coach was very comfortable,the Travel Manager was very informative,going above his normal job, he gave us quez on some days , the Driver was very pleasant…the Hotel was very nice ,very nice rooms ,restaurants & Bar..

Loved the holiday

Loved the holiday, weather was great which does make a difference. Only complaint, Warner's had removed porterage service. We are in our eighty's as were most pf the people on our coach and in chalet accommodation away from the main buildings. so quite a hike pulling a suitcase over gravel paths to our chalet which was just about the furthest away. That apart, the food was great, couldn't have asked for better staff, so very helpful and courteous. The entertainment was top drawer and we loved all of our trips out to various places of interest. Will be going again with Grand UK, I think they are the best, but Hotel for us next time.

The holiday went well.The hotel did not look very impressive from the outside but was clean, friendly and the catering very reasonable. The one down side to the break was the journey taken by the feeder coach, country lanes causing delays. The day trips were very entertaining and enjoyable.

Both the outward journey round the M25 is madness! the retur

Both the outward journey and the return journey went anti clockwise round the M25. Doing this on a Friday afternoon during rush hour is madness and subjects your customers to a gruelling journey. We were taken to several obscure coastal towns with nothing to see or do other than walk around in the cold and rain which meant we had reduced time in the other towns.

Thank you for you review. Our interchange for your region is at Beaconsfield Services and therefore necessitated circling the M25. We accept that from your specific location this may have felt to be the wrong way but we do specifically advise how our system works both in our brochure and on our website. Regrettably in order to ensure our tours depart in good time to ensure a comfortable arrival time in resorts, we have to navigate the M25 at certain times, although our experience tells us that the time of day has very little effect on conditions. We also regret you felt that our prescribed itinerary was a disappointment. We can assure you that all itineraries are constantly reviewed for future improvement. Kind Regards The Grand UK team

Brecon beacons

I've travelled with Grand uk many times but this time the breakfast was very good but the evening meal was poor. Also this tour didn't seem well planned as we kept getting lost. However having been critical I think the actual tour was value for money but it definitely needs a lot of tweeking not up to the usual Grand UK standard

New tour for G UK

New tour for G UK Needs to be looked at until the road works are completed ( approx 2 years) layout changing daily with no road signs ! Hotel had changed its policy on meals breakfast was fine, lovely buffet , good choice ,good quality food The evening meal was a different story a very poor choice of menu items and generally of poor quality We did address the management on this

I find the staff helpful when booking…

I find the staff helpful when booking over the phone, efficient when sending documents for the journey. Their coach drivers are helpful & welcoming - always feel safe on their journeys. I like the choice of holidays that Grand UK offer - looking forward to flying to Jersey in June.

An enjoyable Spingtime Break

Over all it was a nice break

Over all it was a nice break. The driver, Marcus, was excellent, as was tour manager, Kim. Hotel is lovely, staff were so helpful, and nothing to much trouble for them. I think a little more flexibility would be great, as the best day weather wise, Thursday, we could have done with longer in beautiful Brixham instead of going back to Torquay so early

I definitely enjoyed this trip to Northumberland

I definitely enjoyed this trip to Northumberland. The coach driver and tour guide were excellent and the hotel was as good as I have experienced on this kind of trip. There was a slight mixup involved in the pick up but once that was sorted out everything went smoothly. I will definitely use Grand UK holidays again for a coach holiday.

A Good experience all round!

Nothing to complain about on this trip. Sharon and Dave looked after me well, and the new pickup situation was very good. Ian was on time for first pickup. Hotel staff at White Heather Hotel were very efficient and helpful- nothing was too much trouble from everyone l came into contact with.

Feeding chimps in Prisoner cell block H The Holiday company is very good and well liked 10/10 .The hotel would be 6/10,it was badly run and there was none of the managers (3) all on holiday they'd be finished by me. No restaurant control or planning, people pushing in ,other trying and putting spoons back in food after trying .Food was only just acceptable ,male staff when asked for a seat quote (sit there) no would you like to sit here. Rooms mine was generally 10/10 but faulty electrical socket next to next to. I thought my phone /tablet was faulty and spent money on new charger and wires £15.00 wasted. The room was very good apart from that'. The hotel was 3.5 miles from town with motor ways all round,

Warner's Alvaston Hall Nantwich

The whole holiday was fabulous! A large room with a large walk in shower aswe had requested! A lot of added extras as it was a Grand UK GOLD holiday! Amazing food,so many choices excellent variety! Entertainment every evening as a London stage show! The excursions to Liverpool,Chester and Shrewsbury were wonderful! I could easily do this holiday again!

Disappointing could have done a lot better.

The pick up was not near any shelter from the weather.. Also there were no toilets nearby. Do people actually look at the area before hand. No notification that the coach would be late. When I made contact I was my old the coach/ mini bus would be another 45 mins. When we eventually got to the interchange the tour coach would not start. Hotel, good and staff extremely very good. Your driver and your manager were also very good. Also did not appreciate other people leaving their luggage and walking away expecting us to look after it for them. Pick up point needs sorting out. Also other passengers need be aware that they are responsible for their own luggage until it is picked up by min cab/ coach.

Regrettably we were let down by a supplier on the busiest day of the year and while our operations team worked hard to resolve this as quickly as possible, it did result in a delay. We are constantly reviewing our pick up points and their suitability in terms of shelter and toilets. We do our utmost to ensure the points are most suitable but can often be constrained by local traffic enforcements and restrictions. Coach drivers friendly and experienced

Coach drivers friendly and experienced. Pick ups generally on time & well organised. Hotel was good. Accommodation, food, entertainment and service. Excursions excellent and as they are included the holiday was good value for money.

Poor / limited evening meals

The hotel provided the minimum it could get away with for the evening meals. Limited choices, mean portions.

Our tour guide was lovely

Our tour guide was lovely. Very pleasant and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and she worked hard to make sure everything ran smoothly. Our driver was also very pleasant and helpful and the food and hotel were very good. All this making an excellent haoliday.

Turkey and Tinsel at Alvaston Hall

The holiday was great. My friend's and my first visit to Alvaston. Usual Warners' high standard of delicious food; the service was excellent; room very comfortable; and the daytime and evening entertainment absolutely wonderful. The coach driver was an excellent and courteous driver and the courier was very knowledgeable about the area and very, very helpful eg, she provided a map of the areas we visited and made sure we knew where and what time we would be picked up. There was one very small problem. Due to the weather and traffic, the coach was very late picking up in the morning at Harpenden. I phoned the office after waiting 15 mins and was told it was running late and would be about another 20 mins. This turned out to be another 40+ mins. We were standing by a cafe and had we been told the wait was going to be a total of 1hr, we could have gone and waited in the warm instead of the damp and cold. The delay was no one's fault but it could have been a more pleasant experience......

Had a mystery tour cancelled and given…

Had a mystery tour cancelled and given the Severn valley and black country as an alternative .we stayed at the mercury goldthorn hotel. Not knowing it had changed hands.my friend and I are both arthritic and we were given a room up 32 stairs and 4 long corridors. To add insult to injury one meal everyone sent back as the fish was cold and the mushroom risen to not cooked .luckily our brilliant curious sorted it out, but she could not manage to get us a lift.had other grand UK holidays which have been good especially a recent one to ireland.one small backup will not put us off using grand UK again

Unhelpful driver

My mum went on the trip to the Scottish Borders recently. The driver stopped for cigarette breaks frequently which meant all passengers having the leave the coach. Climbing up and down the steps of the coach 10 times each way without any assistance from the driver has left my mum in considerable pain and has put her off coach holidays. Something to consider for potential elderly customers.

Met a Lovely lady on singles holiday now really great friends

Been with Grand UK for five years now and have a least 4/5 holidays a year. Had some really great holidays and good trips out. I also met a great lady on a singles holiday unfortunately we live miles apart but talk to each other every day and arrange our holidays together.

New Year coach trip

The holiday was with a group of friends and we had an excellent holiday. The hotel rooms were clean and warm, the public spaces were pleasant and the food good what more could you want. The coach was punctual and also comfortable and the driver and courier were lovely.

As a single traveller I find the pick up and luggage handling is first class. Good hotel, good food and good entertainment and everyone very friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed my break - now looking at the brochure for my next outing.

e hotel was great except no heating…

The hotel was great except no heating on when we got back each day. Very chilly.The layout of the rooms a maze and confusing. Very clean everywhere and comfortable bed. Food was very good, no complaints. Thursdays visit to Burnham a waste. Too cold.

Update Still No Letter to me to Resolve complaint.

Written previously about Grand uk Gold Coach trip whereby we didn’t have the Gold coach but an old wreck which kept breaking down on way home ! I’ve written to them. Emailed them Had one reply saying they would get back to me within 30days and a reply on this website which was a typical letter to every complaint . Now over 2 months and still haven’t had proper letter of apology .Let’s see if they reply to this. This treatment of bad customer service needs to be made more public and brought to future potential customers notice.

I understand your frustration and do sympathise, but like most holiday companies who were lucky enough to survive the pandemic, it has been incredibly difficult and we are trying our utmost to continue with the level of good customer service that we are well known for. Not worth the money i paid.…

No service at all at the hotel.room I had was awful could not open the first window the other window which was behind this window was open and could not close wind was coming into room had to keep the curtains closed.they would not let me take my mobility scooter up to my room folded I could not use the scooter as it would not get in lift.first day there yhey could not find the scooter that next morning it was in the carpark outside this scooter is not a licence road scooter and it would not work as the battery was coldcand wet.so could not ho to brighton or hasting as I could not use my scooter.food was very good but could not get a coffee or tea during the day in lounge.day we was leaving porters never turned up at the hotel so had to bring our suitcases down and two gentlemen went to all floors to get the other suitcases down and then helped the driver to put in coach.we was late leaving and it took 11hrs to get back to coach park.

Dear Mrs Daniels Thank you for your review. We are sorry to read of the challenges you had with your scooter, particularly within the hotel. We very much regret that they have not stored your scooter for you as we would have hoped and that this caused further problems for you. We also regret the delays in returning home. Good news for 2024 is that we have re-arranged our transport network to eliminate both long feeder journeys and long delays. Our brochure and website have more details.

Four rivers explorer

Good organisation. lovely cruise on a good boat. The food on board was excellent and the staff (crew) were very good . It was rather a long coach journey to Cologne but the driver was very good. The excursions were varied and interesting from a music museum to wine tasting and more

I love traveling with G/Uk

I love traveling with G/Uk. Last holiday was Christmas at Great Yarmouth, was great, nice hotel & staff, food was more than great, so much to choose from. Would go there again. Next holiday is march, cant wait, booked 5 last year for this year, bit upset as was given Christmas card with £10.00 of & a voucher from Santa but cant use them as l booked to early, G/Uk are the best for getting people away 🤗

Just my opinion

Transport arrangements to and from destinations are very good. Food at hotels I have visited is mainly good but the hotels are in need of refurbishment. Grand UK staff are hard working and most are well informed when taking people on excursions and the excursion destinations are very good. This review is based on only two trips I have made with Grand UK, one to Wales and one to Eastbourne.
