3 Elaphite Islands; Lopud, Šipan and Koločep Boat Tour from Dubrovnik
What is the most popular boat excursion in dubrovnik.
Join us on best-selling 3 island boat tour from Dubrovnik and visit the most beautiful Elaphite (Elafiti) islands: Koločep (Kalamota), Lopud and Šipan. Pick-up/drop-of at desired point, lunch and drinks are included. Dubrovnik boat excursions are operated by traditional wooden boats and Small groups.
Long ago, in the days of the Dubrovnik Republic, noble families from the Old Town would escape the rush in the summer time and find peace and quiet in vicinity, on the Elaphiti Islands . Today, hundreds of years later, a visit to the islands is still the best way to relax and to take a city break from the crowd – just like the nobility of old.
Although in the Elafiti archipelago there are more than twelve tiny islets, 3 islands tour is going to take you only on biggest island near Dubrovnik that are still inhabited.
Lopud, the most developed of the three islands, is situated between Kalamota and Šipan and is well known for its long, sandy beaches which are uncommon along the Dubrovnik coast. The famous sandy beach Šunj, on the far side of the island, is particularly a great place for families because the water is shallow and there are several bars and restaurant options nearby. On the opposite side of the island, near the main port of Lopud, you can also visit a 14th century monastery and beautiful botanical gardens, or shop around for souvenirs. Although it is not the largest of the three main islands, many guests tend to spend the most time here, taking advantage of the remote beaches, historical architecture and excellent restaurants.
Šipan is a long narrow island stretching up towards the Pelješac Peninsula where the wealthiest Dubrovnik families built extravagant summer homes. You can still visit some of these old mansions, notably the beautiful Villa Skočibuha, built by a wealthy merchant during the 15th century. Today Šipan is known less as a luxury getaway, and more after the fishermen. Two fishing ports located on each side of the island are connected by a small but fertile valley that supports traditional wine and olive oil production. Šipan is the best place to enjoy the laid-back living style, drink rakija (brandy) with the locals, taste quality homemade wine from local vineyards and even take some back with you!
Koločep (also called Kalamota) is the smallest of the three main islands, and the closest to Dubrovnik. Today it is home to fewer than 300 people with big houses and much bigger gardens. Along the short walk between the island’s two main ports, Donje Čelo and Gornje Čelo, you will see the remains of medieval churches as well as the rich olive and fruit groves that cover this tiny island oasis. From Gornje Čelo you will enjoy the best view of two small islets with old lighthouses Grebene, which is also a private villa, and Sveti Andrija, which was a Benedictine Monastery in the past and today is a bird sanctuary. On Kalamota you can relax on the beach, take a walk along beautiful hiking path till the cliffs and hidden caves or sit for a coffee or an ice cream in the village.

Elaphite Islands
About elaphite islands.
A group of 13 islands is located in the south of Croatia, northwest of Dubrovnik , surrounded by the island of Mljet , the Peljesac peninsula and the Mljet and Kolocep channel. The name of the archipelago is believed to come from Greek , specifically the word „elaphos“, „elaphitides“, which would mean deer-rich land. Deer traces were, however, not found on any of the islands.
you can read more about elaphiti islands on wikipedia
Kolocep, Lopud and Sipan
Are the only inhabited islands with around 900 inhabitants throughout the year . The Elaphite Islands have long been a favorite place of rest, enjoyment and business for the Dubrovnik nobility . Both then and today, locals and tourists alike love to visit the Elaphite Islands and their cultural sites , nature , sandy beaches , bays , caves and taste the seafood .

If you decide to take a trip with us, Deck & Cheers will brighten your day. You will be picked up from your address in and around Dubrovnik and in a few minutes, your private boat tour begins. You will pass the island of Daksa or the walls of the old city of Dubrovnik (depending on the place of departure), then we speed up a bit and in a few minutes you arrive at the first and smallest inhabited island of Kolocep, among the locals „Kalamota“. Kolocep is the richest island in terms of caves, and their exploration is a wonderful and special experience. Especially the swimming in the Blue Cave, which is also a major attraction.
After enjoying the caves, you will taste our D&C welcome cocktail prepared by captain Tonći. Next stop - a walk through the place called Donje Čelo is special particularly because of the peace and tranquility: there are no cars on Kolocep. From the island of Kolocep we move to the island of Lopud. Lopud is the middle one of the inhabited islands and it also has the largest village, but also peace and quiet, as there are also no cars, only a few carts for transporting food and goods, and golf cars used for the transport of passengers to the sandy beach of Sunj or the Lafodia Hotel.
