Every traveler suggests doing rides for trips like Delhi to Leh in 2 days with taking proper halts and breaks. In one day, cover Delhi to Manali, and remaining on the next day. Starting from any corner or place of delhi, you need to head towards the Karnal Bypass from where you’ll join National Highway 1 (NH 44 mainly). This highway is usually rushed because it goes through busy cities and places like Murthal, Karnal, Ambala, etc. Beyond ambala, after crossing river ghaggar, you are required to take right turn under the fly over following for about 40 kms which will bring you on banur road.

No need to enter the town banur, this road will pass by Banur town leading towards Saneta. Passing by kharar, IIT rupar, and ghanauli, you’ll reach Kiratpur sahib. Continue on Kurali bypass road and continue for about 80 kms following Anandpur sahib road you’ll cross the Bhakhra Bridge. Continue straight on the road and keep left to continue on Nalagarh – Bagheri road. Take sharp right at Jamli bus stop and continue for 8 kms. Turn left from JBN Tyar Puncture and follow for about a km then turn left and follow for about 4.4 KM. Keep straight and take a sharp right turn on NH205 from Chowdhary daily needs and follow for about 4.2 KM. Then turn left at Bhrahmapukhar Bus Stop and continue for 15 Kms. Then take right from Beeru tourist dhaba and continue for about 11 kms. Cross sutlej river from jamthal bridge and continue for 28 km then take slight right on NH154 to cross Suket Khadi River and continue for 13 kms.

After following NH154 for 13 kms, take right on Pulghrat Bridge and then take left to get on Karson – Sundernagar – Mandi road and take left on NH3 from Traffic control service after following for 1.8 Kms. Now continue straight and take right from Shera’s bar and restaurant and then take 2nd exit from round about to get on Samkhetar road and continue straight. Take right on S Malhotra Jewellers and continue for 500 meters till Victoria Bridge by which you’ll cross beas river and then turn left then take slight right onto Mandi – Bajaura road and continue for 20.6 kms.

Turn right at katola bus stand and continue for about 30 kms. Turn left to continue onto NH3 and follow for 4 kms then turn left at Bhuntar – Kullu road and follow for around 8.6 kms. Now continue straight passing by Dobhi paragliding site, keep slight right to continue on NH3. Follow for 500 meters and turn right then turn left towards paradise village duwara. Continue for 2.5 kms and take slight left on Coal Merchant on NH3 and continue straight for 10.6 kms. Turn left to continue on NH3 passing by Hotel Shikhar Inn then continue till 5.7 kms.

Passing by Happy Food and Snacks, take right and continue for about 1.3 kms. Now take right along with Manali Volvo Bus Stand. You are in manali now, have stay here and explore manali, then start ride towards Leh the next day.

Night 1, Day 1 and Night 2: Delhi to Manali (540 Kms via Leh Manali Hwy)

• Leave from Delhi late in the night around 11 PM. By leaving late at night, you’ll pass by Ambala around 3 AM and after a few kilometers, you’ll start driving uphills. So, you’ll reach manali by 1 in the afternoon.
• Leaving from Delhi, take your first break at Amrik Sukhdev Dhaba, it might look early to take a break but it’ll charge you to cover next 200 Kms without the need of any break.
• If you wish to, you can stop for the second break at Mayur Dhaba which is near to Ambala..
• Make sure to keep an eye on Google maps once you reach near to Ambala. You need to take a left towards Banur from Ambala because we are not going through Chandigarh.
• Take a break in Ambala and relax yourself a bit for the rest of the ride.
• From Ambala, Manali is around 331 Kilometers which will take around 10 hours to reach.
• After Ambala, our first stop will be Gurudwara Shri Pataal Puri Sahib which is about 107 Kms ahead of Ambala.
• Continue for about 125 Kms and take the next break at Pulghrat Bridge which is near to Mandi. Manali is not so far from here.
• Just after 10 kilometers from Pulghrat Bridge, you’ll arrive at Valley View Point in Magal which will give you a breathtaking view of the entire valley.
• Great Himalayan National Park in Shamshi is among the major attractions on route, so if you have time in hand, we will suggest you to take a break here.
• Continue for about 50 Kms and you’ll arrive in Manali. Check-in to the hotel and take rest. Then go out and explore nearby places to your hotel.

Day 2: Manali to Sarchu (223 Kms via Leh Manali Hwy)

• Leave from Manali early in the morning before 8 AM so that you can reach Sarchu with enough time in hand.

Day 3: Sarchu to Leh (250 Kms via Leh Manali Hwy)

• Try to leave from Sarchu at around 8 in the morning so that you can have enought time to explore the route and reach Leh before sunset.
• Just a few kilometers ahead of Sarchu, you’ll enter the Ladakh region. First stop for the day will be Nakee La which is located at altitude of 4739 meters form sea level.
