Welcome to Proship Entertainment

Register with Proship today and let one of our staff find you a great performance opportunity.

About Proship

We began sourcing musicians for the cruise ship industry in 1987. Since then we have booked over 20,000 contracts for entertainers all around the world. Cruise lines, hotels, casinos and other entertainment venues seek us out because they know that our connections and ability to match opportunities with performers are second to none.

WHY PROSHIP?

You've worked hard to learn and develop your skills as a performer. With Proship you have an entire staff of experienced performers who want to help you make the most of your talent. We appreciate your abilities and ambitions, and are dedicated to finding you an opportunity to earn good money performing in world-class international venues.

Get the right job for you

Proship is on your team, working with you side by side to find you the best possible performance opening. We provide you the support you need to get the gig and make the most of the experience. Work opportunities are only as good as the people behind the scenes making it happen for you. The majority of our staff are career entertainers who understand your needs and concerns and will help you find the opportunity that will best compliment your talent.

Travel the world

Need a change of scenery? Imagine yourself working in those amazing places around the globe that you’ve always dreamed of. The people we place get the opportunity to work everywhere on earth, from the sun-drenched beaches of the Caribbean to the ice carved fjords of Alaska, via the historical capitals of Europe or the mysteriously exotic ports of Asia. Your experience with us will enrich your life.

Get paid well to do what you love

Proship entertainers make top dollar. Our clients hire us to find the best performers there are, so they expect to pay more. When our clients competitively compensate the entertainers, we get higher quality people willing to take the gigs, and in the end, we deliver better entertainment. It’s a win-win-win scenario. Room, board and transportation are usually provided by your employer, so you can save most of what you make.

Don't pay commission fees

Proship gets paid for our services directly by our clients, the corporations, cruise lines, hotels, resorts, casinos and other entertainment venues. Unlike some agents, we do not take commission fees, audition fees, or registration fees from the performers we hire.

Support for you

Proship is your support partner throughout the entire employment process. We audition and evaluate each performer we find to ensure you perform with other qualified individuals. We seek employers that offer outstanding opportunities and negotiate work conditions that make a difference to you. Once hired, our contracting department will support you through the entire logistics process assisting you with physical examinations, visas, rush passports, background checks and contracts. You will also have access to a live 24/7 emergency travel support line from anywhere in the world.

An In-Depth Look at Cruise Ship Musician Salaries and Perks

Image for An In-Depth Look at Cruise Ship Musician Salaries and Perks

Cruise Ship Musician Salary – How Much Does It Pay to Play?

Cruise Ship Musicians earn a decent salary but that’s only the beginning. When you consider the types of positions available, on board expenses & the ability to schedule in advance, cruise ship gigs become a lot more attractive. Below we go into all the detalis, from average cruise ship musician salary by job to onboard expenses and everything in between.

What is the Average Starting Salary of a Cruise Ship Musician?

Starting cruise ship musician salaries range from $2,000 up to $3,300/month (USD). Salaries can vary based on experience level but it mostly depends on the specific music position you take on board. If you’re just getting started in the cruise music industry, below are some guides for what you can expect.

Types of Music Jobs Onboard

Depending on the cruise line & cruise ship’s size – there can be up to 25 musicians on board at a time. Contracts are staggered to ensure that the same number of musicians are on board throughout the year. These musicians and bands often perform simultaneously. For example, while the solo guitarist is playing Jason Mraz poolside, the 7 piece orchestra is performing a cirque style show in the theater, with the house band partying to a Bruno Mars tune in the nightclub. Here are the most commons types of cruise ship musician jobs & starting salaries:

 • Solo Musicians (solo guitarists & piano bar entertainers) have their own cabin and start at $3300/month (USD).
 • Duos (Classical & Contemporary) share a cabin and start around $2400/month each (USD).
 • Ensembles (Jazz Quartets, Party Bands & Dance Quartet) share cabins and range from $2400 – $2800/month per person (USD).
 • Orchestra/Showband Musician (bass, drums, guitar, keys, sax, trumpet, trombone) share cabins and start at $2200/month (USD).
 • Bandmasters are often a member of the orchestra, have their own cabin and start at $2700/month (USD).

These are only the starting salaries and can vary greatly depending on the line and the musician’s experience. Proven musicians/entertainers that can fill a room are in high demand and thus earn a larger on board salary. In addition, musicians hired for specialty/book shows often make higher wages.

life for a cruise ship musician snorkling

Onboard Expenses

$2400 on a cruise ship is WAY different than $2400 on land. Onboard, you don’t have many expenses so your cruise ship musician salary can stretch much further. Here are some examples:

 • Travel – Roundtrip flights, hotels & transfers are all covered by the cruise line. Get yourself to a regional airport and they’ll take it from there.
 • Meals – Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided – free of charge. Whether you’re eating in the staff cafeteria, pasta or sushi at the buffet or a steak dinner in a restaurant on board, food is free!
 • Lodging – You’re essentially living in a floating hotel….for free. Your cabin is even cleaned & bed made.
 • Health Insurance – If you’re an employee of the cruise line, you’re covered medically while on board.

Before you set sail on your journey, limiting your land expenses is key. Rent, mortgage payments, car payments and health insurance aren’t needed and can free you up. Even with a couple drinks and shopping in ports, performing as a musician on board a cruise ship can really allow you to save.

cruise ship musician salary perk - free breakfast

How Long are Cruise Musician Contracts?

Contracts are generally 4-6 months in length. That’s 6 months of continuous work….and pay checks! If the contract is going well, you’ll have the opportunity to schedule another before the first one finishes. Most musicians like to schedule 6 months on and 6 weeks off to plan ahead. In this sense, working on a cruise ship offers vacations and job security that musicians hardly find.

How Do I Get Paid…and How Often?

Cruise Ship Musicians are either employees or contractors.

 • Employees – Most Cruise Lines offer direct deposit and/or a bank card. Funds are deposited directly to your bank account or to your bank card on the 1st and 15th of every month on board.
 • Contractors – Contractors are paid every other week via PayPal or company check.

Are Taxes Withheld?

There is normally a large compliment of international musicians on board. Taxes are not withheld for non-US citizens. Federal taxes are withheld from US employees only.

Do I have to Pay an Agency?

The short answer is no. The long answer is that all cruise lines operate differently. If the cruise line pays the agency directly, you don’t pay anyone. If the cruise line doesn’t pay the agency directly, they’ll often increase the salary offered in order to compensate for the agency fee, paid by the musician.

Why Use an Agency?

Cruise Ship Talent Agencies allow for musicians to apply to multiple cruise lines and opportunities at once. Most cruise lines work exclusively with specific agencies to fill their live music needs. Working with an agency gives you the best chance to get the best cruise ship music job available.

Solo performance artists, usually pianists, provide background music in lounges, lobbies, and dining rooms. Musical bands perform on stage at cruise ship theatres.

Musicians are required to have extensive previous experience in performing on stage.

These LGBTQIA+ travel agencies can help you plan the perfect cruise

Ashley Kosciolek

Travel is one of the best ways to experience the world and learn about cultures that are different from your own. But when you're traveling as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, it can be comforting to venture out with a group of like-minded people.

Thinking about a cruise? Looking for gay travel agents or agencies that cater specifically to the LGBTQIA+ community? These travel companies can help you plan the perfect voyage. They mainly specialize in partial- or full-ship charters, where a large number of cabins (if not all of them) is reserved for your group. Read on to see which of these gay travel agencies might be a good fit for your LGBTQIA+-focused cruise .

Note: The information was accurate at the time of publication. Sailings are subject to availability and may be changed or canceled without notice. New voyages may also be added without notice. Check each agency's website for the most up-to-date information.

Atlantis Events

cruise musician agency

Established in 1991, Atlantis specializes in LGBTQIA+ travel but mostly caters to the gay male community. Although it does offer chartered experiences at a handful of land-based resorts, most of its events are cruise ship charters.

The agency books trips for more than 25,000 travelers each year, nearly half of whom are solo travelers . In addition to raucous parties and handpicked entertainment, Atlantis provides luxury, camaraderie and adventure in some of the world's most beautiful locations.

These trips are ideal for gay travelers looking to mingle and party, as well as couples who want to get away with others in the gay community.

Brand g Vacations

Brand g has been a premier operator of luxury river cruises and land tours for more than a decade. Lines Brand g has partnered with include Amadeus River Cruises and Uniworld River Cruises, among others. Available options take passengers along the Rhine, Danube, Mekong, Moselle, Ganges and more.

Because the company specializes in river cruises with a few exceptions, you'll travel with between 40 and 200 passengers in an intimate full-charter setting that caters to the LGBTQIA+ community and its straight allies.

Brand g packages include upscale amenities such as luxury small-group airport transfers and pre-cruise hotel stays and tours. The company also includes alcohol and shore excursions in its fares.

Dreams Unlimited Travel

cruise musician agency

Dreams Unlimited Travel is a gay-owned and -operated travel agency that specializes in Disney vacations — Disney World, Disneyland, Adventures by Disney and, of course, Disney cruises — for all travelers, not just those in the LGBTQIA+ community.

In business for more than two decades, it sells a range of Disney Cruise Line voyages, as well as sailings from Royal Caribbean , Norwegian Cruise Line and Celebrity Cruises .

Although they don't necessarily offer chartered cruises, the staff is equipped to assist LGBTQIA+ travelers in finding the perfect trip for them. This means that a wider selection of voyages is available because they aren't limited to just charters or group sailings.

Netherlands-based GaySail organizes small-group gay charter voyages aboard sailing yachts. Each boat carries between 10 and 16 passengers, with one to three vessels sailing together for a group of anywhere from 10 to 30 men. GaySail's nude cruise arm, GayNudeSail, offers similar sailings with a clothing-optional atmosphere.

Destination options for group sailings might include Greece, Croatia, Montenegro, the Seychelles, the Caribbean and Tahiti. Passengers can also opt for a private charter in other areas of the world. All cruises, whether group or private, include the services of a skipper and cook, as well as breakfast and lunch, with dinner organized in port and paid for via a group fund called a "kitty."

The voyages are for gay men only, with a passenger makeup of about 30% to 40% couples and 60% to 70% singles. Guests come from all across the globe, but the official language spoken on board is English. Ages generally range from about 30 to 50, but the cruises see men from all stages of life as long as they're fit enough to sail. (Sailing experience is not required. Passengers can choose to learn from the crew or simply relax and enjoy the trip.)

The main difference in atmosphere between a GaySail cruise and a gay cruise on a large cruise ship is that the former has more of a laid-back vibe, meaning no raucous parties, all-day entertainment or daily housekeeping services.

Olivia Travel

cruise musician agency

Originally founded as Olivia Records with the aim of helping women launch their own music careers, Olivia Travel has planned trips for more than 350,000 lesbians and other LGBTQIA+ women since it switched its focus four decades ago.

Specializing in women-only travel for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, Olivia offers full-charter vacations, many of them cruises. Because of its musical roots, Olivia has called on big-name talent, such as the Indigo Girls and Cris Williamson, to perform on some of its sailings.

In addition to ocean cruises, the company sometimes offers river sailings.

Out Adventures

This Canada-based company focuses on gay travel for smaller groups, offering a more upscale and intimate experience. Travelers can either join existing land-based tours of no more than 16 people or plan their own tour, with the agency tailoring the experience to client preferences.

Cruises sponsored by Out Adventures max out at 40 people, ensuring you'll feel like more than just a number. This can also present a chance for singles to meet others in a more tight-knit setting. The company's average vacationer is 40 to 55 years old, making these trips ideal for anyone who's no longer in the "party phase."

Additionally, Out Adventures' trips focus on boutique experiences in port while striving to give back to global LGBTQIA+ communities — $50 from each passenger's booking is donated to Rainbow Railroad — while helping to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable time with regard to local customs and attitudes.

Pied Piper Travel

In business for more than 30 years, Pied Piper Travel offers gay and lesbian group sailings on several cruises each year. The company's lines of choice in the past have included Azamara , Cunard Line and Celebrity , featuring destinations like Alaska , the Holy Land, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal and Australia and New Zealand .

Passengers tend to be mostly gay men of all ages, but lesbians and non-gay or -lesbian friends and family members are also welcome to join.

Although it isn't possible to know how big your group will be ahead of time, past trips have hosted between 15 and 900 passengers. As long as a group minimum of 10 people is met, Pied Piper will assign an onboard host to lead group gatherings, shore excursions and more.

R Family Vacations

cruise musician agency

Founded in 2003 by Gregg Kaminsky and Kelli Carpenter (former partner of Rosie O'Donnell, who was previously affiliated with the brand), R Family Vacations is unique in the LGBTQIA+ travel space in that its specialty is vacations for families with children.

Since O'Donnell and Carpenter parted ways in 2007, the agency has expanded a bit, venturing into the realm of adults-only LGBTQIA+ travel and personal travel.

However, a large part of its customer base still relies on the R Family name for family-friendly cruise bookings that are not full charters.

RSVP Vacations

Offering gay and lesbian travel since 1985, RSVP Vacations charters entire ships for its cruises. The charters tend to be on some of the newest and largest vessels afloat, promising lots of ways for travelers to have fun on board.

In terms of entertainment, the RSVP team schedules themed parties, where costumes are highly encouraged; showcases the latest films, both gay and mainstream; and highlights performances by gay-positive singers, dancers and comedians.

Although it was acquired by Atlantis Events in 2007, RSVP — which has helped more than 100,000 members of the LGBTQIA+ community travel together — does not offer land-based trips. Like Atlantis, RSVP caters to travel for gay men, but its clientele is about 10% lesbian on each sailing.

Saltyboys Sailing Cruises

Like GaySail, Saltyboys is a Netherlands-based travel company that specializes in small-group gay-men-only cruises on sailing ships. The main difference is that while GaySail offers cruises for passengers who don't feel comfortable going au naturel, all of Saltyboys' voyages are designated as either clothing-optional or nudist cruises .

The Saltyboys clientele generally ranges in age from 20 to 50, but there are always exceptions.

Each vessel carries about 10 passengers in addition to the crew, and boats might sail in a flotilla of more than one vessel, meaning your group could join up with others while in port. All voyages include the services of a skipper and crew. Although no sailing experience is required, if you don't wish to learn how to help with anchoring or do your own grocery shopping or cooking, Saltyboys also offers luxury sailings where your fare includes a cook, so everything will be handled for you.

Source Journeys

cruise musician agency

For two decades, Source Journeys has offered all-gay luxury travel that balances adventure with class. It caters equally to singles and couples in groups ranging from 15 to 300 people. The company also donates a portion of all proceeds to LGBTQIA+ charities.

Besides land vacations and individually customized trips, Source promotes full charters of small, intimate cruise ships from lines like Windstar and Atlas Ocean Voyages . You won't find wild parties or scandalous shenanigans, but you will enjoy an upscale experience that's perfect for meeting other gay travelers with discerning tastes.

Source Journeys also runs partial gay charters aboard larger ships (think: vessels from Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line), but those are generally specific Pride sailings that are shorter in duration and to less exotic destinations. Most of what the company touts are voyages to places like the Black Sea, the Dalmatian Coast, Tahiti, the Greek Isles and Antarctica .

Toto Tours is the oldest LGBTQIA+-focused travel company that has had the same management throughout its tenure. Opened in 1990, the agency helps gays, lesbians and their friends and family members travel in comfort and safety.

Most of Toto's business comes from land-based trips and tours, including customized ones, but it does occasionally add cruises to its repertoire.

cruise musician agency

Vacaya prides itself on serving the entire LGBTQIA+ community and its allies rather than focusing heavily on just gay men. The company provides fully chartered access to all-inclusive, land-based resorts, but where it really shines is with its cruises.

Often offering both river and ocean cruise options, this travel agency mixes fun with adventure and learning on ships both large and small, allowing you to find a sailing that meets your preferences. It can also help to match you with a roommate to offset costs if you're traveling alone.

Although Vacaya is a fledgling company, having launched in 2019 with its first season of trips, it offers a solid product.

International travel documents for children

See what documents a child needs to travel to or from the U.S. alone or with a parent or relative.

Children traveling to the U.S.

All children, including infants, must have their own travel documents such as a passport or document from a Trusted Traveler Program to enter the U.S. If you travel or are going to travel with a child, consider taking the following documents:

 • If the child is traveling with only one of their custodial parents, they must have a letter of consent, preferably in English and notarized, from the other parent or signed by both parents. The letter should say "I acknowledge that my son/daughter is traveling outside the country with [the name of the adult] with my permission."
 • If one parent has sole custody of the child, a copy of the custody document can take the place of the other parent's letter.
 • Parents who frequently cross the border by land with a minor must always carry a letter of permission from the other parent.

U.S. citizen children traveling abroad

Ports of entry in many countries have security measures to prevent international child abduction . If you are traveling alone with your child, you may be required to present documentation proving you are the parent or legal guardian. You may also need a letter of permission from the other parent for your child to travel.

If your child travels alone, depending on the country, they may be required to present a notarized letter from both parents or their legal guardian. If a minor is traveling abroad and is not accompanied by both parents or a legal guardian, contact the embassy or consulate of the country you will be visiting and ask about entry and exit requirements for that country.

General Motors Injects $850 Million Into Robotaxi Arm Cruise After Devastating Accident

To date, the automotive giant has already lost over $8 billion on self-driving technology that led to a tragic incident in San Francisco. Now, it’s plowing more money into Cruise while it conducts a “strategic review.”

A Cruise, which is a driverless robot taxi, is seen during operation in San Francisco, California, USA on July 24, 2023.

On Tuesday, General Motors announced that it would invest an additional $850 million into Cruise, its beleaguered self-driving division. To date, the automotive giant has already invested and lost over $8 billion on Cruise with barely any revenue to speak of.

Paul Jacobson, GM’s chief financial officer, said during the Deutsche Bank Global Auto Industry Conference held in New York City that this new amount of funding would “buy us time” to conduct a “strategic review” on the division’s future.

Tiffany Testo, a company spokesperson, wrote in an emailed statement that Cruise “appreciates GM’s continued support.”

Cruise has faced an ongoing existential crisis since an October 2023 incident in San Francisco, where one of its autonomous cars dragged a woman 20 feet after she’d already been hit by a car. Since then, California regulators revoked its permits, and the company shut down its remaining fleet voluntarily. Cruise has not resumed operations in California.

In the aftermath, Mo Elshenawy, the company’s then-new president and chief technology officer, told employees that Cruise would be taking a much slower, more deliberate, and more cautious approach than the company had previously, according to a December email viewed by Forbes .

Phil Koopman , a professor at Carnegie Mellon University, and an expert on autonomous vehicles, told Forbes that GM’s decision to continue pouring money into Cruise was baffling. He noted that the parent company could be positioning itself to sell Cruise off, or GM could simply shut Cruise down.

“I don’t see a technical thing that has changed,” Koopman said of Cruise. “It’s going to be a really hard slog.”

Last month, Cruise restarted what it called “supervised driving.” Those passenger-less trips have a human safety driver behind the wheel and are underway in Phoenix, Arizona, and Dallas. On Tuesday, the company also announced that it would expand this testing phase to a third city: Houston.

Since Cruise halted all passenger services nationwide last year, its Google-owned competitor Waymo has remained the head-and-shoulders leader in autonomous driving. Waymo now conducts robotaxi operations in Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Austin, Texas.Still, Elshenawy remains bullish on Cruise’s future.

“In the not-too-distant future, autonomous vehicles will dramatically improve safety and efficiency in our transportation systems,” he wrote in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday. “I hope Houston is one of the places we can showcase those improvements.”

Meanwhile, Forbes reported last month that Cruise’s cofounder Kyle Vogt, who resigned from the company in November 2023, had already raised $150 million on a new robotics startup.

Since Vogt’s departure, Cruise has not named a new CEO, but it has two presidents , which include Elshenawy and Craig Glidden, a longtime GM attorney and executive.

DISINFO STORM —

Russian agents deploy ai-produced tom cruise narrator to tar summer olympics, with only weeks until the games start, expect more to come, microsoft says..

Dan Goodin - Jun 5, 2024 9:41 pm UTC

A visual from the fake documentary Olympics Has Fallen produced by Russia-affiliated influence actor Storm-1679.

Last year, a feature-length documentary purportedly produced by Netflix began circulating on Telegram. Titled “Olympics have Fallen” and narrated by a voice with a striking similarity to that of actor Tom Cruise, it sharply criticized the leadership of the International Olympic Committee. The slickly produced film, claiming five-star reviews from The New York Times, Washington Post, and BBC, was quickly amplified on social media. Among those seemingly endorsing the documentary were celebrities on the platform Cameo .

A recently published report by Microsoft (PDF) said the film was not a documentary, had received no such reviews, and that the narrator's voice was an AI-produced deep fake of Cruise. It also said the endorsements on Cameo were faked. The Microsoft Threat Intelligence Report went on to say that the fraudulent documentary and endorsements were only one of many elaborate hoaxes created by agents of the Russian government in a yearlong influence operation intended to discredit the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and deter participation and attendance at the Paris Olympics starting next month.

Other examples of the Kremlin’s ongoing influence operation include:

 • A video purporting to be from Brussels-based media outlet Euro News claimed Parisians were buying property insurance in anticipation of terrorism at the Games.
 • A fake video pretending to come from French broadcaster France24 claimed that 24 percent of tickets for the games had been returned due to fears of terrorism.
 • Fake video press releases were produced posing as coming from the CIA and the French General Directorate for Internal Security (DGSI) warning potential attendees to stay away from the Paris 2024 Olympics due to the alleged risk of a terror attack.
 • An array of 15 unique French-language “news” sites, including a core disinformation outlet named Reliable Recent News (RRN) that made claims of rampant IOC corruption and warned of potential violence at the Games. The sites attempt to impersonate French outlets Le Parisien and Le Point to amplify the claims and castigate French President Emmanuel Macron and his government.

Members of the Microsoft Threat Analysis Center—a team that tracks hacking and influence campaigns of nation-state actors—have attributed most of the activity to two distinct groups tracked under the names Storm-1679 and Storm-1099. Both groups have spent years sowing Kremlin talking points in Western media.

“Starting in June 2023, prolific Russian influence actors—which Microsoft tracks as Storm-1679 and Storm-1099—pivoted their operations to take aim at the 2024 Olympic Games and French President Emmanuel Macron,” MTAC members wrote. “These ongoing Russian influence operations have two central objectives: to denigrate the reputation of the IOC on the world stage; and to create the expectation of violence breaking out in Paris during the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.”

Hands up if you’re ready to be dazzled! From a ceremony structure designed to float on water to a jaw-dropping reception room with flowers blooming from every service, we’re swooning over every bit of this wedding. If you can believe it, that’s just the beginning. Julia Kaptelova artfully shot every detail, like the ballet performance guests were treated to and snow falling from the ceiling for the first dance! Prepare to be amazed and take a visit to the full gallery .

From About You Decor … Our design is a symbol of dawn and a distant endless horizon. Ahead is a long, happy life without any borders. An international couple, Pavel and Cherry, met in London and have been walking together for many years.

cruise musician agency

From the Bride, Cherry… My husband and I we decided to have our summer wedding in Moscow because the city is where his roots are. As we knew we were going to have the other wedding ceremony in China, we wanted our Moscow one to be very personal and intimate. We’ve known each other since we were fourteen, together with many of our friends whom we’ve also known for a decade.

cruise musician agency

I didn’t want to walk down the aisle twice so the plausibility of my request quickly came into discussion. The open pontoon stage was constructed in order to facilitate the bridal entrance on water, although there were concerns about safety as the last thing we wanted was probably a drowned bride before she could get on stage, picture that! I have to say on that day it wasn’t easy to get on the pontoon stage from the boat, in my long gown and high heels. Luckily my bridesmaids still noticed even though they stood the furthest from me on the stage, and helped me out without prior rehearsal. My girls could just tell whenever I needed a hand or maybe they were just so used to my clumsiness. Who knows 😂

We all love our photographer Julia! She’s so talented and her style is so unique. Our beloved host Alex is exceptional who made everyone laugh and cry. It was truly a blessing to have so many kind and beautiful souls on our big day. Thank you all!

I’m still not convinced this Moscow wedding, captured to perfection by Sonya Khegay , isn’t actually an inspiration session—it’s just that breathtaking. From the beautiful Bride’s gorgeous lace wedding dress and flawless hair and makeup to the pretty pastel color palette and stunning ceremony and reception spaces, this wedding is almost too good to be true. Do yourself a favor and see it all in The Vault now!

From Sonya Khegay … It was the last day of April and still very cold in the morning. The weather forecast wasn’t pleasing and no one expected that the sun would come out, but miracles happen and light rain gave way to the warm rays.

I love how all the details went together, you could feel the harmony in everything throughout the entire wedding day from the morning until the fireworks.

A gentle look of the bride, elegant but so airy and unique decor, the fresh and light atmosphere of early spring and, of course, true happiness in the eyes. My heart becomes so warm from these memories, it is always a pleasure to see the birth of a new family of two loving hearts.

You really can’t go wrong with simple: a beautiful Bride , perfectly pretty petals , loved ones all around. But add in an amazing firework show to cap off the night and simple just became downright extraordinary. Captured by Lena Elisseva , with assistance by Katya Butenko , this rustic Russian celebration is simply fantastic. See it all in the Vault right here !

cruise musician agency

From Lena Eliseeva Photo … This cozy and warm summer wedding of gorgeous Natalia and Anton was in the middle of June. The young couple decided to organize their wedding themselves, and the day was very personal and touching. I am absolutely in love with rustic outdoor weddings, and this one is my favourite because of the free and easy atmosphere.

All the decor excluding the bride’s bouquet was made by a team of ten friends of the bride and groom. And it was charming – a light and beautiful arch, eco-style polygraphy and succulents, candy-bar with caramel apples and berries – sweet joys of summer.

At the end of ceremony the guests tossed up white handkerchiefs embroidered by Natalia’s own hands.

The most touching moment was the happy eyes of the groom’s grandmother, the most estimable person on the wedding. And the fireworks were a bright end to that beautiful day.

These photos from Lena Kozhina are so stunningly beautiful – as in you can’t help but stop and stare – it’s hard to believe it’s real life. But these pics are proof of this gorgeous Bride and her handsome Groom’s celebration at Moscow’s Fox Lodge , surrounded by vibrant colors and breathtaking blooms . Oh, and the idea of prepping for your Big Day outside in the sun ? Brilliant. See more bright ideas right here !

From Lena Kozhina … When we met with the couple for the first time, we immediately paid attention to Dima’s behavior towards Julia. There was a feeling of tenderness and awe, and we immediately wanted to recreate this atmosphere of love, care and warmth on their Big Day.

Later, when we had chosen a green meadow and an uncovered pavilion overlooking a lake as the project site, it only highlighted a light summer mood with colorful florals and a great number of natural woods. Is it better to book a cruise through a travel agent? We say yes

G oing online to book an airline ticket or hotel stay is a familiar and fairly easy transaction. When you book a cruise, however — particularly your first cruise — you might want to reconsider the impulse to handle the transaction yourself through a cruise line website or an online advertiser with cheap prices. This DIY approach might not be the best way to find your dream vacation at sea.

In reality, it's not that simple to book a cruise. You will likely run into a lot of questions to which you have no ready answer.

That's where specialized cruise travel agents come into play. Their expertise can help you avoid mistakes, whether you are a first-timer or a repeat cruiser checking out a brand you have not tried before.

Why you should book through a cruise travel agent

You should consider booking a cruise through a travel agent because a knowledgeable agent can help you understand the nuances of a cruise purchase and help you make the best decisions for your vacation preferences.

When you book a cruise, you are making a vacation decision that goes way beyond a flight or hotel nights. Which ship you choose determines your dining and evening entertainment choices for the duration of your vacation. Which itinerary you choose impacts which destinations you'll visit and which shoreside activities will be available to you. It can be overwhelming to evaluate the options on your own if you've never cruised before.

In addition, cruise fares can be hard to understand and compare. You might, for instance, see a fare listed online without the port charges, taxes and fees, which you only see after you give your personal details.

Plus, the price of your cruise includes accommodations, meals, entertainment and activities — and in some cases drinks, tips, shore excursions, Wi-Fi and other extras. There's a lot bundled into some fares and not as much with others. A travel agent can help you determine what your cruise fare gets you. The cheapest base cruise fare does not always provide the best value or best overall vacation deal.

You aren't just booking general passage on a ship, either, as you will be asked to pick a specific cabin and when you prefer to dine. Making a mistake in these categories can ruin your cruise experience, as there are such thing as "bad" cabins and dining times (think noisy or claustrophobic cabins, dinner at 8 p.m. with cranky children, etc.).

With cruises, you typically don't pay for your whole vacation upfront but rather put down a deposit, with final payment due at a later date. A cruise travel agent can ensure you don't miss any due dates.

Remember, you might be a DIY type when booking airlines and hotels, but booking a cruise is more complex. If you enjoy doing your own research, focus on what to do and see in the ports of call. Read about different ships, cruise lines and itineraries. However, when it comes to booking the cruise, we recommend you still contact a travel agent who specializes in cruises to help you learn a few tips and avoid any rookie mistakes.

Travel agents can get better deals on cruises

If you're concerned that working with an agent will make your cruise more expensive, don't be. Cruise travel agents receive the bulk of their income via commission from the cruise lines. Their service to you is usually free, though some might charge first-time clients a minimal fee. It's worth it.

In addition to sharing their expertise, the agent may have negotiated group space at lower rates with the cruise line, which could save you money on the cruise fare. The agent might also have first access to sale prices because the cruise lines notify their agent partners and loyalty club members first before they announce a sale to the public.

Some cruise travel agents even throw in booking perks , such as a complimentary bottle of Champagne, awaiting your arrival in your cabin.

How to find a travel agent for a cruise

Cruise lines prefer that you use a travel agent rather than going online and booking directly. They have small in-house reservation teams, and when you have a question while making a booking, good luck in getting an expert on the phone in a timely manner.

Companies such as Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line provide online directories to help you find an experienced cruise travel agent near you.

You can also find experienced and certified cruise travel agents through CLIA, the Cruise Lines International Association , which is the industry's main marketing group. Asking friends who have cruised to recommend a travel agent is another good idea.

You might get more personalized care from smaller agencies than from the huge online agencies, though websites such as icruise.com, Cruise.com and Cruise411.com also have experienced cruise agents. These larger online travel agencies can be a good option for those who prefer to make decisions and ask questions via chat. Just make sure you get the name and phone number of the representative for any follow-up questions.

Questions to ask a cruise travel agent

In choosing a cruise travel agent, you will want to tap into the person's specific expertise about the cruise line and ship you are considering. Anyone can read a ship deck plan outlining ship spaces (which you can find online), but you are looking for people who really know their stuff.

Look for travel agencies that are cruise-only or a home-based agent who specializes in cruises. If you are using a full-service travel agency, ask for the cruise desk.

Here are some questions to ask a travel agent to determine their expertise:

 • How often do you cruise?
 • Have you cruised on the line I am considering?
 • Have you cruised on the ship that I am considering, or do you have clients who have cruised that ship and provided a review of their vacation?
 • Do you have firsthand knowledge about the cruise destination? The itinerary?

You will also want to ask the travel agent if they have a preferred relationship or negotiated agreement with any specific lines that could lead to special perks for you.

Be aware that not all agents work with all cruise lines; some represent only a few preferred suppliers or specialize in higher-end cruises. They get bigger commissions from their preferred lines.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, but be aware if the agent seems to be putting you off the line you were originally considering, as this could be the reason. On the plus side, an agent who is a preferred supplier might have negotiated rates with the cruise line and be able to call in favors, such as that bottle of Champagne or a cabin upgrade .

You should also ask if the travel agency offers 24/7 assistance (usually an 800 number) in case you have last-minute questions or something goes wrong before or during your trip.

The cruise travel agent should have questions for you as well, to better understand your dream vacation desires. If you are calling a cruise agency for the first time, the agent should be interviewing you as much as you are interviewing him or her. The agent should be focused on helping you choose the cruise line , ship and cabin that is right for you. Making the correct choices is very important to your overall cruise experience.

Bottom line

Booking a cruise is a complex enterprise. A cruise travel agent will guide you through choosing your cabin and dining times, deposits and final payment, and options for shore excursions and specialty dining. If you need to cancel the trip, the agent will also help you through the refund process. You'll have a lot less stress before and during your vacation if you book with an experienced agent.
