Black Veil Brides burst onto stage in Birmingham yesterday evening for the first time in more than five years - and every ticket had been snapped up within weeks of going on sale.

The American rock band played to a sold out crowd at the O2 Institute in Digbeth on February 16 - for the first time live in the UK since January 2018.

The Californian punk rock group is currently touring the UK this month promoting their album The Phantom Tomorrow - they will next be heading onto Newcastle, Glasgow and London and other cities.

Last night at the O2 in Digbeth the crowd was electric, getting more energetic by the minute during support acts Little Czar and Cemetery Sun. Everyone was packed tight into the usually spacious venue, and we were all rippling with anticipation for the main event.

Then suddenly, just after 9pm, the stage flashed crimson, and the theme tune for Phantom of the Opera began blaring.

Thousands of fans started cheering, screaming - as BVB took to the stage and kicked off the night hard with 2021 hit Crimson Skies from their album The Phantom Tomorrow.

There was a brief technical hiccup - it seemed lead singer Andy Biersack’s microphone wasn’t working - you could tell he was frustrated. You could hear fans screaming out to him that they couldn't hear him. But by the second song it was sorted - and the audience had more than made up for the lack of vocals by enthusiastically providing their own.

Andy yelled out to the crowd: “Who’s enjoying themselves tonight? Give it up for Little Czar and Cemetery Sun.”

After the opening number Crimson Skies, came Coffin, Rebel Love Song and Devil - before Andy announced it was time for 2018 hit Wake Up from album Vale - much to the sheer delight of the screaming crowd.

BVB is an American rock band based in Hollywood, California which first formed in 2006. It is currently made up of lead singer Andy Biersack, rhythm guitarist and violinist Jinxx, lead guitarist Jake Pitts, drummer Christian "CC" Coma and bassist Lonny Eagleton.

"Last time we toured for a year," said Andy. "We thought it might be the end of the band but ultimately we thought f*** that and carried on.

"The fact is you have given us a f***ing career," he shouted out to the roaring fans. "I know some of you have been with us 10 to 15 years so thank you so much for that."

Fan favourite track Scarlet Cross, released in 2021, was next performed to mighty cheers throughout the venue - the song which Andy said was the band's highest grossing single so far.

"These shows from the beginning of our career have meant so much to us," he went on. "Thank you all so much for being awesome tonight."

The band finished on In The End - an incredible close to an unforgettable night.

Here’s the setlist from the first night of Black Veil Brides’ UK tour

For their first show of 2023, Black Veil Brides kicked off their almost-sold-out UK tour with a date in Norwich – here’s what they played.

Black Veil Brides appropriately marked Valentine’s Day 2023 by returning to a place they love so much: the UK.

The band kicked off their nine-date headline run last night, February 14, at Nick Rayns LCR, UEA in Norwich, before they continue their tour tonight (February 15) in Bristol, and then stop off in Birmingham, Nottingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Southampton and London on the almost-sold-out run.

BVB treated fans to a killer 17-song setlist featuring a host of career-spanning bangers, opening with Crimson Skies from 2021 album The Phantom Tomorrow , and wrapping up with classic single In The End. In-between, they naturally threw things back to fan-favourites like Knives And Pens, as well as bringing things to the present day by airing Devil from 2022 EP The Mourning.

Black Veil Brides headlined a tour with VV and Dark Divine. I went to IN just to see VV because I was so heartbroken that I missed VV in Chicago, so I just had to leave the state to go see them. Black Veil Brides was a +1.

This was my first time seeing Black Veil Brides. I wanted to wear my BVB bandana, but it was dirty, so I wore my Andy Biersack jewelry. I kind of wish I saw them back when Jake and Ashley were in the band. Nonetheless they sounded good, and Jinx was amazing.

They performed new songs and old songs like Perfect Weapon and Knives and Pens. Andy can still scream those songs too. I'll go see them again if they come to Chicago.

October last year I went to see the Black mass tour as my first concert, and a year later it still remains the best concert I've been to! Although I was too nervous to try to get to the front (it being my first gig and all), I still saw it all and the atmosphere was simply electric. I saw them again at warped this year and not much has changed - both times they were amazing performers and really interacted with the crowds, so much so that it really is impossible to look away from them. With other concerts I've grown bored during slow songs or long sets, but bvb bring it with every song. I'll definitely be getting tickets next time they're nearby.

It was a long time ago since this concert was but i can still remember it like it was yesterday and im not kidding i can hear the music the people shouting and how amazing it was. It all began with me being home sick scrolling trough facebook when someone asked on a group how many was going to see Black Veil Brides in sweden. I didnt think it was true but when i figured out i screamed of happiness my mother asked me why i was screaming and when i told her Black Veil Brides where coming to sweden she asked when and where do you buy tickets cuz i was going to go to that concert no matter what. I love my parents. Some time went tickets were bought and i was just waiting for the day to come. I got up early and for the first time i was going to take the train alone. The first train was no problem but when i was going to get the second train i missed it. I saw the train go and i ran for my life and i missed it. I dont like it but i cried alot, i called my mom and she came with the car and told me she got tickets for the next train dad fixed them. My day was saved so i took the next train and met my goodfather who was going to keep an eye on me at the concert. I live far away from Stockholm and it was a long trip with first train and then the hour long trip with car. I was very nervous my first concert i could have gone to many concerts but i had promised myself to wait til i could go on a Black Veil Brides concert. We parked the car stood in the line. My heart was beating and all kinds of cool people was standing in line. We got in and hanged our jackets my goodfather found a place to sit and i was just walking around watching and thinking. Was this a dream am i really here? So the concert started Fearless Vampires where pretty good. Like a storm was very good. I saw people wasnt so active as i thought they would be on a concert but they where calm and i felt pretty safe. I saw something coverd and i guessed it was CC`s drumms. Like a storm stopped playing and then everyone started shouting but Black Veil Brides were not coming out. I waited and waited and i got more and more nervous i was so afraid i would fangirl wich i dont wanna do. I worried got more nervous when suddenly they stood there. Black Veil Brides a few meters from me playing their music and i couldnt believe it. I felt warm and happy and so calm like i couldnt be happier i didnt fangirl but when they played i sang with my heart and the whole room sang. I cant explain the feeling but i promise the whole room sang together and no one was pusing me or anything everyone were so nice and careful. I was happy even if it was just a dream it would be the best singing the songs heaaring people around me singing together as loud as they could see Andy,Jake,Jinxx,CC and Ashley playing/singing and they looked so happy. I dont think they saw me but i dont care i just think they gave us a great show and my first concert is a memory ill never forget. The most magical moment was when they got off the stage and the hole room was shouting BLACK VEIL BRIDES! Together and they came back and they asked what song and again the hole crowd shouted IN THE END! And when they played and everyone sang together, i may sound like a child or something else but i dont care that song and all people singing it, it was magical it was magical for me and i believe it was for the other people to at the concert. I love the music and i will forever do after the concert i was so full of energy i hadnt drinked anything to make me that energic but i was because of the hapiness and i was sure it wasnt a dream. It is one of my best memories and i never wanna forget it and im writing this 5 months after the concert and still i can feel the magical feeling when im thinking back and still cant believe i was there. If i could thank Black Veil Brides in person i would hug them for being so amazing and giving people so good memories,hope, and great music that make people like me happy.

Black Veil Brides have shared dates for their upcoming 2023 UK tour.

Due to kick off at the UEA in Norwich on February 14, the tour will see see the Californian metal band perform across nine locations before wrapping up at Troxy in London.

The announcement of the UK tour comes off the back of Black Veil Bride’s 4-track EP, ‘The Mourning’, which was released on Friday (October 21). The record was mixed and produced by Erik Ron, who collaborated with the band on their previous project ‘The Phantom Tomorrow’, which dropped last year and included the single ‘Crimson Skies’ .

“A lot of this record touches on how galvanized we felt coming out of a very tumultuous few years as a band,” lead vocalist Andy Biersack said of the latest EP. “It is a genuine representation of how re-energized we feel. Not only as musicians, but also as friends.

“The making of our previous record ‘The Phantom Tomorrow’ with Erik Ron was one of the greatest experiences we’ve had collectively in the studio. The reception to that album was so passionate from the BVB Army that we felt like it was a no brainer to continue writing and recording with Erik and Anthony.”

BLACK VEIL BRIDES  kick off a new season of redemption and revenge with “Bleeders,” a cinematic music video, battle cry, and tour conceived by bandleader  Andy Biersack . The “Bleeders” single and enchanting music video (directed by Jensen Noen) coincide with a forthcoming EP of the same name.

The  Bleeders  EP is both a soundtrack and a signpost of everything BVB past, present, and future. The band’s inaugural release in a new partnership with Spinefarm boasts the title track, a loving rendition of  Sweeney Todd ‘s “My Friends,” and a faithful cover of U2’s “Sunday Bloody Sunday.”

The Bleeders Tour transforms the band’s theatrical and allegorical tales of vengeance into real-world philanthropy, incorporating a virtual blood drive with the American Red Cross. “As Bleeders, it’s our mission to effect positive change. Help us to help others in this time of need,” reads a statement from the band, comprised of Biersack,  Jake Pitts, Jinxx, Christian “C.C.” Coma , and  Lonny Eagleton .

One pint of blood can save as many as three lives. As of April 22, fans have pledged 1577 pints.

Before the birth of the BVB Army, the thousands of lyric tattoos, and the gold and platinum records that followed, Black Veil Brides was simply a dark vision dreamt up by an only child in Ohio.

Andy already loved Batman and KISS. Then, the striking visage of  Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street , on the cover of his dad’s dusty CD (released a dozen years before he was born) kicked open the door for Biersack.  Sweeney Todd  cleared the way for  The Phantom of the Opera , Misfits, and all that followed, culminating in the birth of Andy Black and the ascension of Black Veil Brides. 

The group’s cinematic scope and unwavering commitment to self-expression strikes a familiar chord with their fellow “bleeders” who seek refuge (and revenge) in the power of the dark and imagination.

There are over 160 million views of “Knives and Pens,” an early demo committed to music video before Andy (who moved to Hollywood at 18 and lived in his car) met his band of brothers. The RIAA-certified platinum single “In the End,” itself close to 170M views, proved the group whose merch dominated Hot Topic before they’d even made their debut album was built to last. In 2021, “Scarlet Cross” became their highest-charting, Top 10 single. “Fallen Angels” went gold in 2023. 

They combine a unique identity with an unquenchable creative thirst. They’re an object of devotion for those who sing their anthems in unison, a diverse BVB Army who never surrenders.  Bleeders  offers a taste of what will become Black Veil Brides’ most visceral, cinematic, and unrelenting era yet.

BLACK VEIL BRIDES Advocate For American Red Cross And Blood Donations

In support of the American Red Cross , BLACK VEIL BRIDES are hosting a virtual blood drive during the U.S. "Bleeders" tour, inspired by the band's forthcoming single "Bleeders" . The trek kicks off on April 25 in San Francisco and runs through May 25 in Los Angeles. DARK DIVINE , CREEPER and GHOSTKID will provide support on the tour.

Every pint of blood has the potential to save as many as three lives, so this combined effort between the band and fans can have a profound impact.

Fans attending the upcoming tour can present their proof of a blood donation to the American Red Cross (e-mail, app confirmation, donation photo, sticker, etc.) when they visit the BLACK VEIL BRIDES merchandise booth to receive an exclusive merchandise package, consisting of a signed poster, pin and patch.

BLACK VEIL BRIDES states: "As Bleeders, it's our mission to effect positive change. Help us help others in this time of need."

Fans can watch a 10-minute mini documentary, which traces the history of the band — from the humble beginnings through the upcoming single and highlighting the so-deep-it-hits-marrow connection that BLACK VEIL BRIDES have with fans. Black Veil Brides have announced the Bleeders American Tour 2024 for next spring. The trek will see the gothy glam-metal stalwarts joined by like-minded support acts Creeper, Dark Divine, and Ghostkid. The kickoff show is set to April 25th at the Fillmore in San Francisco, with stops across the U.S. in Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, Nashville and more before the run wraps up in Los Angeles at The Belasco on May 25th.

Modern rock band Black Veil Brides have announced they’re set to embark on Bleeders Tour 2024 with support from Creeper, Dark Divine, and Ghostkid. The tour kicks off on April 25 at the Fillmore in San Francisco making stops across the U.S. in Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, Nashville and more before wrapping up in Los Angeles at The Belasco on May 25.

Black Veil Brides is a glam metal band from Hollywood, California known for their KISS-esque stage persona. Andy Biersack, Jinxx, Jake Pitts, Christian Coma, and Lonny Eagleton are the current bandmates. Black Veil Brides quickly found success upon the release of their debut album We Stitch These Wounds in 2010. The band has since released several projects which have been featured in films such as The Avengers and Transformers: Dark Of The Moon.
