The Monkey Falls in Pollachi is a sight to behold for anyone who feels connected to nature. It’s a great weekend getaway for you and your roomies. However, you must take permission from the forest department to enter this hotspot. Also, you’ll not be allowed to enter after 6PM. As much as the rapids create a grand spectacle, they could be quite dangerous without proper light. So maybe gather around the falls and share your heart out to your friends or as we like to call it- ‘mon’-’key’ baat (hearty conversation)!

The Law’s Falls is a serene waterfall. It is named after Col.Law who constructed the Coonor Ghat. If you plan to visit the place, make sure you schedule it sometime after monsoons. Also, Bella Vista Stay and MGM resorts are a couple of places to crash in for the night. Moreover, the area has a strict no plastic policy (like every tourist place should be). So make sure you don’t litter and break any ‘law’ during your trip!

You will be fascinated by the magnanimity of the Adiyogi Shiva Statue in Ishana Vihar. Did you know, it’s the biggest bust statue in the world? Well, you’ll believe it when you see the statue up close. It features a meditation centre and is dedicated to the yogic way of life as Lord Shiva is said to be the first teacher of yoga. So maybe bring your flatmates to this serene abode who are Lord Shiva ‘fans’ for all the wrong reasons! (if you know what we mean)

The Gedee Car Museum is a paradise for people who are into automotive. It features a rare collection of vintage cars from India and abroad- France, the US, England, and Germany. Moreover, they have a sign board that reads the history of every car exhibited in the museum. If your roommates are quarreling about which places to visit in Coimbatore , we suggest you to ‘grab the wheel’ and take them here!

Turns out- you don’t have to go to Chandigarh for its famous rock garden. This one in Coimbatore is a replica of the same. You’ll also run into various installations featuring work of great Indian artists. Also, it’s one of the best places to visit in Coimbatore for couples. A chill day out with your partner and we’re sure you’ll ‘rock’ their world!

The ancient temple in Perur is known for its grand architecture, artworks and paintings. It was built as a place of worship for Lord Nataraja. It is one of the biggest temples in Coimbatore and a must-visit place for anyone who would like to feel the essence of the city.

Yes, this one had to be on the list, right? Ooty is one of the most popular hill stations near Coimbatore. Any trekkers that are up for a challenge? Well, you should make your way to Velliangiri- for its one of the most difficult trekking trails in the country. The hills are located at the heart of Western Ghats and are part of the Nilgiri Reserve. You can head there with your lazy flatmates and you can learn a thing or two about hardcore treks!

The Catherine Falls is one of the most mesmerising falls in South India. It’s a 2 tier waterfall that is gorgeous to look at. So you can bring your crew for a view of this (very instagrammable) place!

It’s 1000 square kilometres of protected reserve in the Western Ghats. Book a safari through the reserve and if you’re lucky, you might get a glimpse of a leopard or even a tiger. Although, if you’re looking for snakes, you’ll find more of them in your life than in the reserve! (Don’t bring them along on this trip, ok?)

If you’re in Coimbatore or anywhere in South India, a trip to a national park is always on the cards! The national park is rich in flora and fauna. It houses 110 species of orchids, 34 mammals, 200 butterflies and 128 species of beetles. But we suggest your talkative roomies be a little ‘silent’ in the reserve and respect the wildlife of the forest.

Want to take your partner through the ride of their life? Hire a motorcycle and drive through this beautiful valley adorned with tea estates, lush green highlands, pine trees and a train track of the famous toy train (Nilgiri Mountain Railway) passing by.

The Amaravathi Dam is an architectural marvel in the Indira Gandhi wildlife sanctuary. The dam is used for flood control and irrigation in the region. But in recent years, it has become a popular tourist destination. However, as much as it is scenic, the reservoir is a hangout place for crocodiles. So it might be a little distasteful for ‘that’ friend of yours who always wears a pair of crocs! (too lame? ok)

Located 40 kms away from Munnar, this place is a pretty weekend getaway. It’s known for its natural splendor due to the dense forests, hills, paddy fields and small villages that line the place. Also, it houses large burial chambers that date back to the Megalithic Age. Maybe it’s time to explore your own ‘chamber of secrets’?

Finally a place that doesn’t need you to travel afar, no? The Brookefields Mall is the oldest mall and one of the best places to visit in Coimbatore in night. The shopaholic in you will go gaga over their clothing stores!

When you are living away from home and your little cousins have come to visit- this is a great place to take them out! The zoo features over a hundred mammals and 300 birds for you to see.

The temple is one of the sacred places to visit in Coimbatore. It attracts devotees all year around. Moreover, it is a must-visit for people interested in architecture and history.

The Kodiveri Dam is a popular picnic spot in Coimbatore. It’s lush surroundings are unparalleled and it can give you the peace of mind that you might have been looking for!

What’s the point of staying in the south and not visiting a beach? The Beypore Beach is situated in the Chaliyar river and attracts tourists for its famous Pulimoodu bridge- a 2 kilometer long stone bridge. Also, did we tell you- it’s one of the best places to visit in Coimbatore for couples? So maybe it’s time to bring your ‘bae’ along to the ‘Bey’pore beach and sit by the ‘bay’?

If you ever feel too romantic for your own good, bring along your date to the rose garden in Ooty. If not anything, this beautiful garden will put away any thorns that might be in your relationship! (Cue La vie en rose)

The Palakkad fort or Tipu’s fort is named after Tipu Sultan, the great ruler of Mysore. Built in the 18th century, the fort is of the utmost historical importance. The fort is now preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India.

The park was developed by two British officers in 1874. The park features beautiful gardens and is ideal for relaxing. It also offers boating for you to relax and pedal your stress away!

Remember the mesmerising Catherine Falls? Well, you can head to Dolphin’s nose to catch a view of the falls. It’s a popular viewpoint situated 1000 feet above sea level. So time to escape from your ‘nosy’ neighbours and travel to the Dolphin’s nose?
