The 44-Date Headlining Arena Tour is Set to Kick Off This Summer in Mississippi

Tickets on sale starting friday, february 24 at 10 am local on ticketmaster.com  .

After dominating Billboard’s Emerging Artist Chart for a record-breaking 25 consecutive weeks – ultimately breaking the record of most weeks spent at No. 1 – with his single, “Son Of A Sinner,” multi-genre hitmaker Jelly Roll today announced his Backroad Baptism Tour. Produced by Live Nation, the 44-city arena tour kicks off on Friday, July 28th at Bank Plus Amphitheater in Southaven making stops across the U.S. in Milwaukee, Kansas City, Cincinnati and more before wrapping up in Tampa at  MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater on Saturday, October 14th. Tour openers include Ashley McBryde, Caitlynne Curtis, Chase Rice, Elle King, Merkules, Struggle Jennings, Three 6 Mafia, Yelawolf and Josh Adam Meyers. As previously announced, Jelly Roll will also open on several dates as direct support for Eric Church.

The Backroad Baptism Tour comes after a momentous year for Jelly Roll. The chart-topping, multi-genre phenomenon scored his first No. 1 on Country radio with his debut Country single “ Son Of A Sinner” and earned a two-week Rock No. 1, “cemented his rising mainstream stardom” ( Tennessean ). More recently, he released  “ she ” as well as his current radio hit, “ NEED A FAVOR ” — both from his highly anticipated forthcoming album. Having independently amassed more than 4 Billion career streams to date, Jelly Roll made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2022 and continues to sell-out venues across the United States-recently playing to more than 16,000 fans at his sold-out show hometown venue at Bridgestone Arena. His 2020 single “Save Me” — a confessional, vulnerable expression of self-doubt set the stage for his new season of life and took him to new heights- has earned more than 155 million views on YouTube and Platinum certification from the RIAA- and continues to resonate with fans and tap into Jelly’s uniquely-connective ability to bring fans “therapeutic music.”

About Jelly Roll

Outright genre-bending singer/songwriter/rapper Jelly Roll has quietly been building a remarkable career, under the radar and on his own terms. Since his days selling his mix tapes out of his car, he has constantly been independently releasing new music (more than 24 albums), touring relentlessly, consistently topping various iTunes charts, engaging a rabid fanbase and creating videos that have amassed nearly 2 billion views on YouTube. He pairs deeply personal lyrics with music that blends Old-school Rap, Classic Rock, Country and Soul to create music that is therapeutic, raw and tackles the heaviness in life.

His 2020 single “Save Me” — a confessional, vulnerable expression of self-doubt set the stage for his new season of life and took him to new heights, with more than 155 million views on YouTube and Platinum certification from the RIAA. Born and raised in Nashville’s Antioch neighborhood, the former addict and drug dealer released his album Ballads of the Broken in 2021, ahead of his sold-out hometown show at the famous Ryman Auditorium, which sold out in under an hour. The introspective 10-track album shows Jelly Roll’s growth as an artist and man, drawing from his personal experiences to tell the story of a man who has been through the ringer and isn’t afraid to share his raw truth, featuring his multi-week No. 1 Rock hit “ Dead Man Walking ” and his No. 1 Country debut single “ Son of a Sinner .” Now after a history-making “breakthrough year” ( American Songwriter ), having just sold-out Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and released the riveting anthem “ NEED A FAVOR ” along with the soul-stirring ballad “ she ” from his highly anticipated forthcoming album, the reigning No. 1 of Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart for more than 25 weeks and counting is well on his way to mainstream, multi-genre stardom.

Jelly Roll embraces the crowd from the stage.

Jelly Roll is on a roll.

First, the crossover country-rap star’s hit single “Son of a Sinner” hit number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in January 2023.

Now, riding that wave of momentum, he’s announced his massive ‘Backyard Baptism Summer Tour’ that will send him to amphitheaters, county fairs, festivals and arenas all over North America from May through August.

Midway through the run, Jelly Roll’s ‘Backyard Baptism’ will dip into Darien Center, NY’s Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on Aug. 3.

But wait! There’s more!

Jelly Roll won’t be going it alone on this tour.

He’ll be joined by special guest country stars Ashley McBryde, Chase Rice, Elle King, rappers Merkules, Struggle Jennings, Three 6 Mafia, Yelawolf and comedian Josh Adam Meyers on select dates.

“Don’t miss it when this circus comes to your town,” Jelly Roll shared on Instagram .

And if you want to run away with Jelly Roll’s circus, you can grab tickets as early as today .

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, Feb. 24, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before they’re officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Jelly Roll 2023 tour schedule

The ‘Backyard Baptism Tour’ gets underway at Key West, FL’s Coffee Butler Amphitheater on May 5.

From there, the country-fried rapper (or hip-hop influenced country singer) will bring his unique sound to big market cities like Virginia Beach (Aug. 12), Milwaukee (Aug. 18), Las Vegas (Sept. 1), Phoenix (Sept. 16) and Lexington (Oct. 10).

Jelly Roll and co. close the tour at Tampa’s MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fair Grounds on Oct. 14.

Plus, he’ll also headline Bloomington, IL’s four-day Tailgates and Tallboys Festival from June 14-17 alongside Nickelback, Chase Rice and Warren Zeiders.

On top of that, Jelly Roll has a handful of co-headlining concerts with Eric Church lined up this year as well.

Want to see if the “Son Of A Sinner” singer is coming to a city near you?

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues, show start times and links to buy tickets can be found here .

Jelly Roll opening acts

As noted earlier, Jelly Roll is bringing along a motley crew of talent along with him this summer.

To get you up to speed, you can check out each of his opening act’s most streamed song (and in Josh Adam Meyers’ case, his podcast) on Spotify below.

Ashley McBryde : “One Night Standards”

Chase Rice : “Eyes On You”

Elle King : “Ex’s & Oh’s”

Merkules : “Bass”

Struggle Jennings : “Fall in the Fall”

Three 6 Mafia : “Stay Fly”

Yelawolf: “Till It’s Gone”

Josh Adam Meyers : “The 500”

Jelly Roll new album

The versatile 38-year-old recently spilled to Music Mayhem that this debut country album is “coming in April or May of 2023.”

“I’m really proud of it. I’m going to have some features on it. It’s a country record for sure,” he continued.

“I think ‘Son of a Sinner’ was just kind of showing people what I could do, but we also got some real kind of rock records on there…and we’ll have a couple of songs where I’m spitting a little bit too. So it’s still true to Jelly Roll for sure.”

In the meantime, you can listen to the album’s expected lead singles, “Need A Favor” and “She” here.

1 Rock hit “Dead Man Walking” and his No. 1 Country debut single “Son of a Sinner.” Now after a history-making “breakthrough year” (American Songwriter), having just sold-out Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and released the riveting anthem “NEED A FAVOR” along with the soul-stirring ballad “she” from his highly anticipated forthcoming album, the reigning No. 1 of Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart for 20 weeks is well on his way to mainstream, multi-genre stardom.

Given the fact that Jelly Roll has released around twenty albums - depending on which you classify as mixtapes, collaborative projects, etc. - the Nashville native must have a hard time pinning down a setlist.

Judging from recent shows, he's incorporating an eclectic blend of tracks from across his vast discography.

The selection includes his now-Platinum single, ‘Son Of A Sinner’ , which also became Jelly Roll's first ever No. 1 at Country Radio earlier in the year . The atmospheric song finds the singer-songwriter at his most vulnerable, as he opens up about his mistakes and flaws.

Here you can find Jelly Roll's updated setlist as he embarks on his 2023 Backroad Baptism concert tour.

Jelly Roll has also been performing his morerecent singles singles, ‘She’ and ‘ Need A Favor ’, both of which feature on his acclaimed 2023 album, Whitsitt Chapel .

Earlier in the year, Jelly Roll impressed the Texas audience at the 2023 CMT Awards with his blistering, choir-assisted performance of ‘Need A Favor’ , and fans will be eagerly awaited the chance to hear it in-person during the country-rock phenom's Backroad Baptism tour this year.

A number of Jelly Roll's older, rap-inspired songs still make the cut for his setlist, including ‘Creature’ and ‘The Hate Goes On’.

Interestingly, he's been closing his shows with a powerful rendition of his 2020 single, ‘Save Me’. A revamped version of the evocative track was included on Whitsitt Chapel , featuring one of the biggest stars in modern country, Lainey Wilson .

With Jelly Roll taking an all-star line-up of supporting acts on his 2023 Backroad Baptism tour, including Chase Rice and Ashley McBryde, ticket-holders will be curious to see whether Lainey joins her ‘Save Me’ collaborator on the road for a live performance of the song.

Jelly Roll Brings ‘Backroad Baptism 2023’ Tour to Bangor

The "Backroad Baptism 2023" Tour rolled into town Saturday night, setting the Maine Savings Amphitheater ablaze with performances from Struggle Jennings, Elle King, and, of course, Jelly Roll.

Kicking off the tour's Bangor stop was Struggle Jennings, a charismatic performer with an illustrious musical lineage. As the grandson of instrumental rock guitarist Duane Eddy and country legend Jessi Colter, and the nephew of Shooter Jennings, Struggle Jennings’ unique blend of southern charm and eccentric stage presence, alongside his rocking band, had the Bangor Waterfront hyped up and ready for more.

Following Struggle Jennings, the stage was taken over by Elle King. Known for her unique style and undeniable charm, she didn't disappoint. From the moment she stepped into the spotlight, Elle exuded an aura of “cool.” It’s difficult to find the right words to describe what made her so cool. Perhaps it was her effortless charisma, or the way she connected with the audience on a personal level. Whatever it was, there was no denying that Elle King had a magnetic presence that left a lasting impression on all fortunate enough to witness her live. The audience was treated to a delightful fusion of blues and upbeat melodies as she delivered crowd favorites like "Ex's and Oh's" and "Tulsa." Elle King concluded her set with the anthemic "Drunk (and I Don’t Wanna Go Home)."

And then came the moment everyone had been waiting for - the heart and soul of the Backroad Baptism Tour. Having wowed the audience in Mansfield, MA the night before, Jelly Roll's arrival in Bangor was highly anticipated, and he did not disappoint. Commanding the stage at the Maine Savings Amphitheater, Jelly Roll's performance was nothing short of a spiritual experience.

For those who have never been to a Jelly Roll concert, it truly lived up to his description of "going to church," although I’ve never been to a church like this before. His talent knew no bounds as he showcased an incredible vocal range that left the Queen City of the East in awe.

Taking the audience on a journey through his rich discography, Jelly Roll's heartfelt lyrics resonated with fans on a profound level. He effortlessly weaved between hard-hitting rap verses and soulful melodies, leaving no doubt about the depth of his musical prowess.

Next on the bill was the emotional and passionate Jelly Roll. From the moment he stepped on stage, it was evident that he was taken aback by the sheer enthusiasm of the Maine crowd. The love and support from his fans clearly meant the world to him, and it was heartwarming to see an artist so deeply connected to his music and audience.

Throughout his performance, Jelly Roll wore his heart on his sleeve, displaying raw emotions that resonated with everyone present. The impact he had on the audience was profound, as he truly understood the power of his music to touch lives and evoke emotions. At one point, he brought his wife, Bunnie XO, on stage, further demonstrating the closeness he shares with his fans.

Jelly Roll's setlist was a perfect blend of his well-loved classics and exciting new tracks. The crowd sang along passionately, making the atmosphere electric and filled with infectious energy. The night reached its peak as Jelly Roll concluded with the poignant song "Save Me," leaving a profound impact on everyone in the venue.

Jelly Roll bid farewell to Maine, but there's no rest for the wickedly talented, as he's set to perform at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, NH on Tuesday.

Who knows, there’s a lot of time between now and Tuesday. I wonder if Jelly Roll will take some time to explore Bangor or its bakeries during his downtime.
