ATB (born 26 February 1973) – aka Andre Tanneberger – is a highly renowned DJ and electronic music producer from Freiberg, Saxony, Germany. He has been cranking out the house and techno beats since the ‘90s and has released a numerous amount of singles that are club favorites.

In the ‘80s ATB would frequently visit clubs around Germany to listen to the Eurodance DJ, General Base, who was one of ATB’s primary influences. By the early ‘90s ATB was starting to compose music himself and was using his minimal setup of just an Amiga computer and a synthesizer. After befriending Thomas Kukula – aka General Base – ATB was permitted to use Thomas’ Sequential Pro One, which was able to produce warm, analog tones for ATB’s recording. After being so fascinated with the Sequential Pro One, ATB decided to name his first musical group after the synthesizer. Through his group, Sequential One, ATB released several hit singles in 1993, “Let Me Hear You” and “Dance/Raving” as well as their debut album “Dance”, which was released in 1995. Although the band achieved rising popularity throughout Europe, the band dissolved in the late ‘90s after having released two phenomenal studio albums and several catchy singles.

Tanneberger began releasing solo material under the name ATB in 1998 and released his first single “9 PM (Till I Come)” that same year. The single became an instance hit and became a club staple throughout the ‘90s. Not only was the single successful in Germany, it was also successful internationally reaching the No. 1 spot in the UK charts and the No. 1 spot in the Republic of Ireland. The single ended up selling over 850,000 copies in the UK and was the fifth best selling single in the year 1999.

“9 PM (Till I Come)” was featured on ATB’s debut album “Movin’ Melodies”, which came out in 1999 and also featured the hit songs “Don’t Stop” and “Killer”. His debut album was not a full fledged dance album like the song “9 PM (Till I Come)” might imply, but it featured a diverse mix of songs that contained ambient and new age characteristics, which drew inspiration from artists like Enigma and Mike Oldfield. ATB’s second studio album “Two Worlds” was a double disc album that came out in 2000. Each disc was meant to convey a different mood from the other. The first disc titled “The World of Movement” was more upbeat and dance oriented while the second disc “The Relaxing World” was more serene and ambient. The album was also notable for the guest artists who appeared on the album, which included Heather Nova, Wild Strawberries, and Enigma.

ATB is a prolific artist that is consistently writing new music and releasing it. Each album he releases seems to be trying to approach things through a different angle by using different techniques and sounds. Unlike most DJs he is not afraid to switch up his style. His music can be highly upbeat and danceable as well as incredibly melodic and ambient, consisting of beautiful piano compositions and soft vocals. ATB’s 2014 release “Contact” was another double disc album that featured a disc with catchy, danceable tracks and another disc that featured more chillout music. The album featured the singles “Face to Face” and “When It Ends It Starts Again” as well as featured several guest appearances by musicians such as Tiff Lacey.

ATB music also translates quite well in a live setting. He is highly popular on the festival circuits having played such festivals as the immensely popular Ultra Music Festival. ATB’s vast range of musical styles have earned him much respect from “DJ Magazine” who has ranked him as high as No. 9 in terms of the best DJs. “The DJ List” had him ranked as the world’s No. 1 DJ.

ATB - for the uninitiated, that’s a not entirely accurate acronym for his birth name, Andre Tanneberger - continues to stand tall among the genuine titans of the trance genre; in the popular imagination, and especially in the UK, he’s best known for his 1999 smash hit ‘9pm (Til I Come)’, which went to number one on these shores, but amongst the hardcore fans of the genre, he’s revered as one of its most important figures. The German has regularly placed in the top twenty, even in recent years, on DJ Magazine’s list of the world’s top turntablists, and continues to play live across the world - especially Europe - to rapturous receptions from the crowds. His recent ATB in Concert series saw him take his live show to a whole new level, with a stunning light show completely immersing audiences in the trance experience; he mixed classic cuts with new material, especially from his Distant Earth LP, at six shows each in Eastern Europe and the United States - his international appeal is certainly in no doubt whatsoever. With a new album, Contact, lined up for this year, expect a more conventional live show - and worldwide dates - to follow quickly; it’s an opportunity to see a master of his craft in something close to his prime.

André Tanneberger, better known by the stage persona of ATB emerged during the rave revival of 90's Germany. In a time of social and artistic revolution, the music of the time was incredibly important and André was securely planted right in the epicentre. Two decades later he continues to amaze crowds with his heightened understanding of dance and electro and has played some of the most celebrated stages in the world.

Showing younger artists how it is done, every part of the show has been considered and from the very first multi-coloured strobe to the final explosion of confetti ATB keeps the music at the heart of the operation, literally pumping through the crowds. 'Ecstacy' has been extended to keep the audience dancing as the stage intermittently switches between a barrage of light and total darkness in a surrealistic manner as the crowd makes themselves known through roars of approval. Although a lot of artists are now turning their hands to dance and EDM, it is often only those who have lived through eras of rave, trance and garage that really knows how to entice a crowd.

Nothing I say can do him justice. You have to see ATB for yourself. I've loved his music since I was 18, listening to a lot of the classic EDM from the '90s and early '00s on 92.7 Party in the Bay Area. I'm now 32, and his music remains every bit as beautiful and moving. Sonic rapture, like a vision in crystal, a distillation of some cosmic beauty, some timeless truth about the ecstasy of love and freedom. My spirit soared on the heights of his choruses and incredible drops. There is nothing in the world like trance music, and no trance like ATB. Go see him for yourself.

(He also adores his fans - he touched hands with a mob of us at the stage after the show, and when he missed my hand on the first pass, he actually reached back out again to touch it and make sure I wasn't left out. That alone speaks volumes. God bless him :) )

ATP – Allgemeines

Die ATP ist ein Tennisverband, der sämtliche ATP Turniere organisiert. Die ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) wird oft auch als ATP Weltrangliste bezeichnet. Warum? Weil sie die Leistung aller männlichen Tennisspieler in Relation zueinander stellt. Am Ende jeder Saison treten die aktuell acht besten Tennisspieler bei den ATP World Tour Finals gegeneinander an. Ausgetragen werden die großen Turniere im ATP Kalender üblicherweise von Januar bis November.

Bei ATP Turnieren sind ausschließlich männliche Tennisspieler zugelassen. Die Damen spielen in der WTA, der Women’s Tennis Association.

Australian Open

Seit 1986 gelten die im Melbourne Park in Australien ausgetragenen Australian Open als das erste Grand Slam Turnier des Jahres. Jahr für Jahr zieht das Turnier rund 780.000 Zuschauer an, die sich das spannungsgeladene Tennisspektakel nicht entgehen lassen wollen. Im Januar ist in Melbourne Hochsommer. Eine günstige Gelegenheit also, um einen schönen Urlaub zu buchen und Tennis auf höchstem Niveau vor Ort hautnah mitzuerleben.

Roland-Garros

Die Roland Garros Tennismeisterschaft wird im französischen Stade Roland-Garros , in Nähe des Pariser Porte d’Auteuil, ausgetragen. Und wenn man schon Tickets für Roland-Garros hat, dann sollte man auch den typischen weißen Panamahut dabeihaben. Wenn schon, denn schon. The Championships, Wimbledon Championships

Wimbledon , das bei vielen Tennisfans ganz oben auf der Bucketlist steht, ist das älteste Tennisturnier der Welt und zugleich auch das größte Turnier, das auf Rasen ausgetragen wird. Gespielt wird jedes Jahr zwischen Ende Juni und Anfang Juli. Seit 2020 können Fans ihre Tickets für Wimbledon bequem online erwerben. Einfach nur toll, wenn man bedenkt, dass man 1924 noch per Brief einen Antrag an die Organisation stellen musste, um als Zuschauer an Karten für die Spiele auf dem Centre Court zu kommen!

Die US Open sind das vierte und letzte Turnier im Grand Slam Spielplan und werden in New York ausgetragen. Die wichtigsten Partien können Fans im Arthur Ashe Stadion miterleben, das insgesamt 23.771 Zuschauer fasst. Bis 1977 wurden die US Open auf Rasenplätzen in Forest Hills ausgetragen, ab Ende der 1970er dann auf Sandplätzen und heute liefern die Spieler sich ihre erbitterten Tennisduelle auf Hartplätzen.

ATB releases remix of ‘Lonely’ ahead of North American Fall Tour

German dance music legend ATB returns to the USA for sprint through America’s west. The tour, with stops in Denver, Costa Mesa, Salt Lake City, Seattle and Houston, comes on the heels of ATB’s sizzling new remix of VisionV’s “Lonely’.

The legend brings his signature heavyweight sound to “Lonely;’ transmuting the original into a new ferocious example of club ready firepower. ATB taps Phea’s soft and emotive vocals to create an extra impactful drop that wipes away all emotion into a venomous display of four to the floor party music.

ATB’s big breakthrough moment came in 1998 with the mega hit “9pm (Till I Come)” that he recently re-imagined as “Your Love” to even more critical acclaim

The track took the German producer and DJ to the top of the UK singles charts becoming the first dance song to reach number 1 in the UK. The single also peaked in several top 10 charts worldwide, including the US Billboard charts, and opened the door for dance music on mainstream radio. Northern Bear Golf Club to host 2024 ATB Classic

Second stop on PGA TOUR Americas to take place June 24-30 in Strathcona County, AB

PGA TOUR Americas, Linx Marketing and ATB Financial confirmed today that the ATB Classic will be played at Northern Bear Golf Club as scheduled, June 24-30, while the club continues to rebuild after a fire destroyed the clubhouse on January 13.

“The incredible strength of the club and the community is what makes it possible for the ATB Classic to be played at Northern Bear this summer,” said Scott Pritchard, Vice President of PGA TOUR Americas. “Our players love Northern Bear and we’re looking forward to supporting the club as the healing and rebuilding process continues.”

“ATB Financial has proudly supported professional golf in Alberta for more than 25 years, and is excited for this highly competitive and rewarding event to return to the Northern Bear Golf Club,” said Curtis Stange, CEO of ATB Financial. “We are confident that the business community will rally around this tournament and that hundreds of volunteers, caddies and billets will help make it possible!”

“Northern Bear is excited to host the ATB Classic once again and we look forward to having the players and everyone involved back here in June” says Blair McDowell, Director of Golf.

“Hosting an International Professional Golf Tournament without a clubhouse will have its challenges”, said ATB Classic Tournament Director Darcy Enick.  “We are working closely with the Northern Bear staff and local sponsors and suppliers to ensure the ATB Classic will continue to be one of the top ranked events on PGA TOUR Americas”.

The Jack Nicklaus design proved to be a formidable test for PGA TOUR Americas players in 2023.   Notre Dame Graduate Davis Lamb won the tournament at -18 and went on to win the Quebec Open, and finished 3 rd on the 2023 Fortinet Cup Standings.

Lamb silences field with 3-stroke victory at ATB Classic

SHERWOOD PARK, Alberta—Davis Lamb had to Monday qualify just to get into the field for this week’s ATB Classic. He had no idea that he was about to make history.

Lamb, of Bethesda, Maryland, shot a 2-under 70 Sunday to finish at 18-under 270 at Northern Bear Golf Course and become the first Monday qualifier to win on PGA TOUR Canada.  After his first PGA TOUR-sanctioned win, Lamb is now exempt for the remainder of the season.

“It’s kind of surreal to be standing here right now,” Lamb said. “My game was in a good spot. I was ready to come up here and compete. But to start Monday morning, teeing off with kind of a play-well-or-go-home scenario, and to make it all the way to Sunday and be standing here … It’s pretty surreal.”

The Notre Dame graduate overcame two double bogeys on the front nine during a cool, windy day to beat Eric McCardle of Oak Harbor, Washington—another Monday qualifier—by two shots and Nicolo Galletti of Berkeley, California, by three.

“Today is about the hardest I’ve ever had to work on the golf course, so for it to pay off the way it did, it feels amazing,” Lamb said.

Lamb also moved into a tie for second place on the Fortinet Cup points list, 42 points behind leader Étienne Papineau.

Lamb shared the 54-hole lead with Eric Lilleboe after players completed the delayed third round Sunday morning. Dangerous weather conditions forced suspension of play Saturday and the fourth round’s weather didn’t really improve.

Lamb stumbled with his first double bogey of the day, on the par-5 sixth hole, and took another double on the par-4 ninth hole. But he somehow regained his momentum with an eagle at No. 10, a 540-yard par-5, and added three more birdies, the last coming on the par-3 17th that gave him a three-shot lead entering the 72nd hole.

“I doubled my sixth hole, hitting the ball in the trees, which you just can’t do out here, and then doubled No. 9 again,” Lamb said. “At that point I’m just hanging on for dear life. Luckily, I hit a good drive on 10, and I just told my caddie, ‘It’s time to hit a golf shot right now.’ And we did from 235 (yards) to about three feet, made eagle and from there we just played great coming in.”

Lamb said it was “easily the best golf shot I’ve hit in my entire life and to do it in that situation was amazing.”

The long birdie putt on the 17th hole certainly made it an easier finish for Lamb, who punctuated his win with an emphatic fist pump when the final putt dropped.

“It’s never done. I was still working hard,” Lamb said. “But to take a three-shot lead going into 18 was, in my mind, a can’t-lose scenario. I knew I was driving. I knew I could hit the green. So, to give myself a chance to win with a five-putt, it’s comfortable for me.”

McCardle had three birdies on the back nine but never got closer than a stroke. He shot 69 and finished at 15-under 273. Galletti also found himself in contention late in the round, recording his fifth birdie on No. 15, but a bogey on the 17th hole would see him finish with a 4-under 68 and in third.

Sudarshan Yellamaraju was the low Canadian. He shot 66, the best round of the day, and finished fourth, at 13-under 275. He moved up 26 spots on the leaderboard the final day.

Beim Turnier auf dem Weissenhof in Stuttgart misst sich Deutschlands bester Tennisspieler Alexander Zverev mit mehreren internationalen Top-Spielern der ATP-Tour.

Deutschlands bester Tennisspieler Alexander Zverev ist wenige Tage vor dem Start der BOSS Open in bestechender Form. Erst vor knapp drei Wochen konnte der gebürtige Hamburger beim Masters in Rom seinen 22. ATP-Titel feiern. Schon an diesem Freitag könnte er mit einem Sieg gegen den Norweger Casper Ruud (nicht vor 17:30 Uhr) ins Finale der French Open einziehen.

Für den Olympiasieger von Tokio wäre es nach den US Open 2020 (6:2, 6:4, 4:6, 3:6, 6:7-Niederlage gegen Dominic Thiem) die zweite Finalteilnahme bei einem Grand-Slam-Turnier und die Chance auf seinen ersten Titel bei einem der vier größten Tennisturniere der Welt. Zverevs Trumph: Paris findet auf Sand statt - ein Belag, der ihm äußerst gut liegt.

Stuttgarter Turnier mit großen Namen aus dem Tennis

Anders das Weissenhof-Turnier in Stuttgart. Das ATP-Turnier (250 Punkte / 8. bis 16. Juni) wird seit 2015 auf Rasen gespielt. Für die Vorbereitung auf Wimbledon, das nächste Grand-Slam-Turnier (1. bis 14. Juli), ist das optimal, für Zverevs Siegchancen bei dem Heimspiel eher weniger. Keines seiner 22 Turniere gewann der Wahl-Monegasse auf Rasen.

Dennoch wird der aktuelle Weltranglistenvierte am Donnerstag (13. Juni) voraussichtlich das erste Mal seit 2019 in das Turniergeschehen im Stuttgarter Norden einsteigen. Neben ihm sind aus Deutschland auch Jan-Lennard Struff, Dominik Koepfer und Yannick Hanfmann dabei.

Aus den Top 20 der Welt kommen zudem Hubert Hurkacz (Polen), Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton (beide USA) und Alexander Bublik (Kasachstan). Mit Vohrjahressieger Frances Tiafoe (USA) und dem dreifachen Grand-Slam-Sieger Andy Murray (Wildcard/Großbritannien) gehen zwei weitere große Namen an den Start.

Tennis auf dem Weissenhof - ein Turnier mit Geschichte

Das Stuttgarter Tennisturnier, das vormals als Mercedes Cup ausgetragen wurde, ist seit 1978 Teil der Herren-Grand-Prix-Serie ATP. International gespielt wird auf dem Weissenhof aber bereits seit mehr als 100 Jahren.

Zu den namhaftesten Siegern des Events zählen neben Rafael Nadal (Spanien) und Roger Federer (Schweiz) auch Andre Agassi (USA) und der Schwede Björn Borg. Zum bis dato letzten deutschen Sieger krönte sich 1991 Michael Stich.

In diesem Jahr ist das Turnier mit 812.235 Euro dotiert, der Sieger erhält ein Preisgeld von 111.785 Euro.

ATP in Stuttgart: Ablauf, Rahmenprogramm und Tickets

Die 46. Auflage als Teil des ATP-Kalenders beginnt an diesem Samstag und Sonntag mit der Qualifikation, ehe von Montag bis Donnerstag das Hauptfeld spielt. Von Freitag bis Sonntag finden dann die Viertelfinals, Halbfinals und das Einzel- und Doppelfinale statt.

Rund um das eigentliche Turnier wird es zudem ein Rahmenprogramm wie die KidsDays (9. bis 11. Juni) geben. Tickets kosten dann auch für Jugendliche bis 16 Jahre nur zehn Euro. Zudem sind Mitmachaktionen auf der Anlage und Autogrammstunden geplant.

Am Donnerstag, den 13. Juni, findet das “Bürgerwiesenfest” mit Live-Musik statt, am 15. Juni das ProAm, wo prominente Tennis-Amateure gegen ehemalige Profispieler antreten.

Tickets sind für die Turniertage bis Donnerstag noch erhältlich, für das Finale gibt es noch einzelne Business-Seats-Karten.

Der letzte Test der deutschen Nationalmannschaft vor der Heim-EM gegen Griechenland lässt trotz eines Erfolgs viele Fragen offen.

Das letzte Testspiel vor der Heim-EM gegen das nicht für das Turnier qualifizierte Griechenland im Borussia-Park in Mönchengladbach dürfte Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann in den nächsten Tagen noch intensiv beschäftigen: Die deutsche Nationalmannschaft setzte sich am Freitagabend (07.06.2024) gegen die Griechen zwar mit 2:1 (0:1) durch, doch echte Vorfreude auf die deutschen Gruppenspiele beim Heimturnier in einer Woche dürfte bei kaum einem Beobachter aufgekommen sein.

Zu fehlerhaft, zu anfällig präsentierte sich die deutsche Mannschaft von Beginn an. Die Partie wirkte über längere Zeit wie ein Rückfall in alte, erfolglose Zeiten. "Positiv ist das Ergebnis und dass wir das Spiel gedreht haben. Wir können uns aber steigern" , sagte Pascal Groß, der das viel umjubelte Siegtor erzielt hatte, der ARD.

Auch der Bundestrainer räumte ein: "In der ersten Halbzeit haben wir kein gutes Spiel gemacht. Die Intensität hat gefehlt" , so Nagelsmann. "Wir haben aber eine gute Reaktion gezeigt. Wir haben alles dafür getan, um uns psychisch zu festigen."

Grober fehler der deutschen mannschaft.

Beide Teams begannen die Partie gemächlich. Die etwas größere Offensiv-Aktivität zeigten aber die Griechen, die mit ihren technisch versierten Spielern den Ball und auch den Gegner laufen ließen. Die deutsche Mannschaft versuchte sich in die Zweikämpfe zu begeben und den Gegner vom eigenen Tor fern zu halten. Doch das sollte nicht lange gutgehen.

Nach sechs Minuten passierte der DFB-Elf der erste grobe Fehler. Die Griechen kamen nach einem Fehlpass von Florian Wirtz im Mittelfeld zu einer riesigen Doppelchance von Christos Tzolis, bei der Torhüter Manuel Neuer zwei Schüsse des Angreifers aus sechs Metern Torentfernung meisterlich parieren konnte.

Musiala mit erstem Torschuss

Das Nagelsmann-Team wirkte in der Folge unerwartet nervös, fahrig, unkonzentriert. Ein durchdachtes Offensivspiel kam nicht zustande, die Defensive wirkte anfällig wie in längst vergessen geglaubten Zeiten. Nur wegen der mangelnden Passqualität der Griechen konnte Abwehrchef Antonio Rüdiger die nächste große Tormöglichkeit nach einem Konter (18. Minute) gerade noch verhindern.

Den ersten, allerdings völlig harmlosen Torschuss brachte die deutsche Mannschaft nach 21 Minuten durch Jamal Musiala zustande. Auch Trainer Nagelsmann konnte seinen Augen ob der vielen Fehler seiner Spieler nicht trauen und schien am Spielfeldrand wenig amüsiert zu sein.

Neuer lässt den Ball fallen

Die vorläufige Krönung der deutschen Fehlerkette folgte in der 33. Minute. Musiala ließ sich den Ball am eigenen Strafraum abnehmen, den dann folgenden, eigentlich völlig harmlosen Flachschuss von Tzolis ließ Neuer aus den Händen flutschen, Griechenlands Georgios Masouras brauchte den Ball nur noch über die Torlinie zum 1:0 zu drücken. " Grundsätzlich muss ich den Ball besser wegbringen, das habe ich sofort gemerkt. Wir können das insgesamt besser verteidigen. Aber grundsätzlich finde ich, dass ich bei beiden Testspielen gute Leistungen gezeigt habe" , sagte Neuer der ARD.

Eine Torwartdiskussion will Nagelsmann gar nicht erst aufkommen lassen. "Es gibt natürlich eine Diskussion in der Öffentlichkeit, aber das ist für mich nicht relevant" , sagte der Bundestrainer.

Zumindest eine erwähnenswerte Torannäherung nach einem Freistoß vom bis dahin nahezu unsichtbaren Toni Kroos gelang der deutschen Elf in der völlig verkorksten ersten Hälfte, aber Jonathan Tahs (40.) Kopfball verfehlte das griechische Tor. Kurz vor dem Pausenpfiff hatte Vangelis Pavlidis die nächste große Schusschance, Tah konnte den Ball gerade noch um das Tor lenken.

Havertz trifft aus der Drehung

Kaum war die Partie wieder angepfiffen, konnte Verteidiger Joshua Kimmich gerade noch per Kopf vor dem einschussbereiten Tzolis retten. Die Unsicherheit im deutschen Spiel blieb, die Griechen wirkten weiterhin beflügelt von ihrem eigenen Spiel. Alle erhöhten Bemühungen der deutschen Mannschaft wirkten weiterhin schwerfällig, nichts wollte einfach vom Fuß gehen.

Immerhin gelang es der DFB-Elf in den folgenden Minuten, das Spielgeschehen mehr in die gegnerische Hälfte zu verlagern und ein wenig mehr Druck auszuüben. Echte Überzeugung strahlte aber lange Zeit kein deutscher Offensivspieler aus. Bis der bis dahin überaus blasse Kai Havertz aus dem Nichts, nach einem Drehschuss aus zehn Metern, das 1:1 (55.) erzielte.

Henrichs mit einem Latten-Kracher, Groß trifft

Wer allerdings glaubte, dass nun eine Wende im Spiel zugunsten der deutschen Elf folgen würde, der sah sich getäuscht. Die Griechen spielten unbekümmert weiter, während dem Nagelsmann-Team noch immer ein schwerer Rucksack auf dem Rücken zu liegen schien.

Mit etwas mehr Konzentration hätten die Griechen nach einem Konter (72.) ihren zweiten Treffer erzielen können, aber der eingewechselte Verteidiger Nico Schlotterbeck konnte das gerade noch verhindern.

Das Nagelsmann-Team bemühte sich zwar, aber spielerische Lösungen fand das Team nicht. Nur der ebenfalls kurz zuvor eingewechselte Benjamin Henrichs sorgte noch für eine gefährliche Aktion, er schoss einen abgewehrten Eckball mit Karacho gegen die Querlatte des griechischen Tores (84.).

Pascal Groß erzielte in letzter Minute mit einer Direktabnahme aus rund 18 Metern das sehenswerte 2:1 (89.) für die deutsche Mannschaft und sicherte damit einen schmeichelhaften Sieg.

Nicht bei der EM dabei sein wird Alexander Nübel. Der Bundestrainer hatte den Torhüter am Nachmittag aus seinem Kader für die Endrunde in Deutschland gestrichen, weil er sich für einen weiteren Feldspieler statt einem vierten Torhüter im Kader entschieden hatte.
