Our Vehicles

  • Testimonials

We have a fleet of vehicles that range from 4 seater's, 6 seater's, 8 seater's and 16 seater's, from saloon cars, to mini buses and people carriers. All our vehicles are checked and serviced to make sure they are capable of carrying luggage and passengers to and from their desired destinations in comfort and style.

We take pride in our clean and modern vehicles which are fully air conditioned and fully valeted and cleaned thoroughly and regularly. With a modern fleet of vehicles mostly under 3 years old, our vehicles are regularly checked by fully trained mechanics who will fix any faults to ensure our reputation as safe drivers with safe vehicles can continue to shine.

16 Seater Mercedes minibus

Our customers' needs and safety are most important to us and we can provide booster seats for children free of charge upon request. All our drivers are licensed with the local authorities and are CRB (criminal record bureau) checked for your safety and peace of mind. Our drivers are very committed to our customers needs and will go out of their way to make sure everything is to your requirements. As a result, the main percent of business we get is from repeat customers and recommendations.

Based in Liverpool and licensed as private hire operators, we welcome the opportunity to deliver new and existing customers the best possible services at the best possible price, to ensure a journey that is as stress free as is possible. We do not believe in taking risks when it comes to health and safety checks, so we make sure we have regular contact with Liverpool City Council to make sure we are up to date with any changes regarding the health and/or safety of our vehicles, drivers and clients alike.

All airport transfer companies should be registered with their local authority and many are not which is why it is a much safer and cheaper option to use a registered company such as ourselves to avoid any issues such as being over charged.

About Vito OBSMD

About vito obsmd (formerly jr.nba since 2002).

This platform was created as the inaugural Jr. NBA in 2002 and provided a program and environment for over a thousand area youth to develop their basketball skills over the years.  Due to our association with the local middle and high school basketball programs, we began to assert and re-categorize organized basketball to match the school platform and rebranded as the Organized Basketball Society of Maryland (OBS) in 2010.

In the effort to provide a higher-level AAU, local, and national travel team experience, OBSMD partnered with Vernon “Vito” Buckle in 2018.  With this partnership, AAU entry-level players as well as players not selected for Team Vito AAU national travel teams are Invited to tryout for the AAU Local Travel Teams.  Team Vito Travel Teams practice in a separate location with a separate tournament schedule; whereas the Local Travel Teams compete in AAU tournaments in the DMV.  Players not selected for the AAU Local Travel Team are provided a supportive platform and forum to continue their development and training in the In-House League.

Conceptually, the system mirrors the affiliation between major and minor league sports teams.  As an example, in the spring of 2023, three players with prior in-house and Vito OBS Local Travel Team experience were called up to the Team Vito National Travel Teams.

In-House League

The league is a year-round program that is divided into four seasons.  Each season is a mix of practices and in-house, professionally officiated games. This platform provides players the opportunity to expand and enforce required organized basketball skills prior to assessment and advancing to the competitive divisions.  The program focuses on conditioning, dribbling, shooting mechanics, defensive movements, zone defense and offense, and the understanding of the geometry of organized basketball.

AAU Local Travel Teams

Local Travel Teams are selected from the tryouts.  The teams compete in three to five-weekend tournaments in the DC/MD/VA area.  Generally, each tournament guarantees three games over the tournament weekend. In the spring of 2023, the teams’ successes included a championship in the Basketball Coaches Without Boundaries Spring Challenge II tournament.

Team Vito AAU National Travel Teams

National Travel Teams compete in tournaments at a variety of locations along the east coast.  Annual tryout dates will be posted when they are determined.  In the spring of 2023, a Team Vito team won the 2023 Florida National Championship.

Basketball Program

OBS offers the following year round boys organized basketball programs, girls league is coming soon:

Development Division: Development Division provides players from age 8 the opportunity to learn the fundamental organized basketball skills prior to move up to the competitive divisions. We focus on dribbling, shooting mechanics, defensive movements, zone defense and offense, and the understanding of geometry in organized basketball. Development division is independent of and not designed to be combined with our other divisions; participants should not enroll in any of our other divisions.

Division III:  5th - 6th grade. NO EQUAL TIME. Division III provides introduction fundamental basketball program

Division II:  7th - 8th grade. NO EQUAL TIME. Competitive, intense training and practice.

Junior Varsity Division: High School freshman and Sophomore.  NO EQUAL TIME. More competitive, advanced high school level.

Varsity Division:  High school juniors and seniors.  NO EQUAL TIME. Highly competitive, advanced high school level. AAU : Advanced players from tryouts, traveling team.  Please refer to AAU - Team Vito - OBS block below or go to https://mocoheat.org/coach-vito

If you would like to withdraw your consent to receiving any direct marketing to which you previously opted-in, you can also do so using our unsubscribe tool. If you withdraw your consent, our use of your personal information before you withdraw is still lawful.

8.5 Objecting to our use of your personal information and automated decisions made about you

Where we rely on our legitimate business interests as the legal basis for processing your personal information for any purpose(s), as out under How we use your personal information in Section 4, you may object to us using your personal information for these purposes by emailing or writing to us at the address at the end of this policy. Except for the purposes for which we are sure we can continue to process your personal information, we will temporarily stop processing your personal information in line with your objection until we have investigated the matter. If we agree that your objection is justified in accordance with your rights under data protection laws, we will permanently stop using your data for those purposes. Otherwise we will provide you with our justification as to why we need to continue using your data.

You may object to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes and we will automatically comply with your request. If you would like to do so, please use our unsubscribe tool.

You may also contest a decision made about you based on automated processing by contacting the data protection department.

8.6 Erasing your personal information or restricting its processing

In certain circumstances, you may ask for your personal information to be removed from our systems by emailing or writing to us at the address at the end of this policy. Unless there is a reason that the law allows us to use your personal information for longer, we will make reasonable efforts to comply with your request.

You may also ask us to restrict processing your personal information in the following situations:

• where you believe it is unlawful for us to do so,

• you have objected to its use and our investigation is pending or you require us to keep it in connection with legal proceedings.

In these situations, we may only process your personal information whilst its processing is restricted if we have your consent or are legally permitted to do so, for example for storage purposes, to protect the rights of another individual or company or in connection with legal proceedings.

8.7 Transferring your personal information in a structured data file

Where we rely on your consent as the legal basis for processing your personal information or need to process it in connection with your contract, as set out under Section 4 How we use your personal information, you may ask us to provide you with a copy of that information in a structured data file. We will provide this to you electronically in a structured, commonly used and machine readable form, such as a CSV file.

You can ask us to send your personal information directly to another service provider, and we will do so if this is technically possible. We may not provide you with a copy of your personal information if this concerns other individuals or we have another lawful reason to withhold that information.

8.8 Complaining to the UK data protection regulator

You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) if you are concerned about the way we have processed your personal information. Please visit the ICO’s website for further details.

9. SECURITY / COOKIES / LINKS / SOCIAL PLUGINS

9.1 Security measures we put in place to protect your personal information

All companies within the Mercedes-Benz Group use technical and organisational security measures to protect the personal information supplied by you and managed by us against manipulation, loss, destruction, and access by third parties. Our security measures are continually improved in line with technological developments.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your information whilst in transit to our website and any transmission is at your own risk.

Where we have given (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access an account, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

9.2 Use of 'cookies'

'Cookies' are small pieces of information sent to your device and stored on its hard drive to allow our websites to recognise you when you visit. Information on the cookies that we use and their features can be found in the cookies section .

9.3 Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to other websites run by other organisations which we do not control. This policy does not apply to those other websites and Apps‚ so we encourage you to read their privacy statements. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other websites and Apps (even if you access them using links that we provide) and we provide links to those websites solely for your information and convenience. We specifically disclaim responsibility for their content, privacy practices and terms of use, and we make no endorsements, representations or promises about their accuracy, content or thoroughness. Your disclosure of personal information to third party websites is at your own risk.

In addition, if you linked to our website from a third party website, we cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of the owners and operators of that third party website and recommend that you check the policy of that third party website.

9.4 Third Parties and Social plugins

Our websites may also contain third-party offers. If you click on any such offers, we will transfer the amount of data required to the appropriate provider (e.g. the fact that you found the offer in question on our website and, if applicable, additional information that you have already provided for this purpose on our websites).

On our websites, whenever we use so-called "social plugins" from social networks like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter TikTok, Linked In and YouTube we incorporate them in the manner described below.

When you visit our websites, social media plugins are deactivated. That means no information whatsoever is transferred to the operators of those networks. If you wish to use one of the networks, click on the appropriate plugin in order to be connected directly to that network's server.

If you have a user account with that network and are logged in at the moment you activate the plugin, the network will be able to detect your visit to our websites and assign it to your user account. If you wish to prevent that, please log off from the network before activating the social plugin. A social network will not be able to detect that you have visited other Mercedes-Benz websites unless you have activated its social plugin on those sites as well.

When you activate a social plugin, the network transfers the content thus made available directly to your browser, which incorporates it into our websites. In that situation, data transfers initiated and controlled by the respective social network may also take place. Your connection to a social network, the data transfers that take place between the network and your system, and your interactions on that platform are governed exclusively by the respective network's data protection provisions.

The social plugin will remain active until you deactivate it or delete your cookies.

Further information on cookies can be found at:- https://www.mercedes-benz.co.uk/passengercars/content-pool/tool-pages/legal/cookies.html  Whenever you click on the link to an offer or activate a social plugin, your personal information may be transferred to providers in countries outside the UK or European Economic Area that, from the standpoint of the European Union ("EU"), do not guarantee an "appropriate level of protection" meeting EU standards for processing personal information. Please keep these circumstances in mind before you click on a link or activate a social plugin, thereby causing your data to be transferred.

10. ANALYSIS OF USER DATA AND USE OF ANALYTICS TOOLS

10.1 We want the content of our websites to match your preferences as closely as possible, thereby improving what we offer you. To identify especially popular areas of our websites, we use the following analysis tools: Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics.

10.2 When we employ these analytics tools, information may be transferred to servers located in the US and processed there. Please note the following: From the standpoint of the European Union, the United States does not provide an "appropriate level of protection" meeting EU standards for the processing of personal information. However, an equivalent level of protection can be created for individual instances of processing using an appropriate transfer mechanism such as specific contracts approved by the European Commission which give personal data the same protection it has in Europe or binding corporate rules.

10.3 If you do not wish us to use the above named analytics tools to collect and analyse information about your visit to our websites, you may permanently object to the practice (opt out) at any time.

We will comply with your rejection by placing an opt-out cookie in your browser. This cookie will only indicate that you have opted out. Please note that, for technical reasons, an opt-out cookie affects only the browser in which it has been installed. If you delete the cookie or use a different browser or device, you will need to opt out again.

When the above technologies are used, cookies on our websites and (in the case of retargeting) on the websites of others register your interest in our products and services. In the process, random identifiers (so-called cookie IDs) are used which are not brought into connection with your name, your address or similar information, even if this information is known to us (e.g. from an existing contractual relationship), unless you have consented to this.

When these targeting and retargeting tools are used, some data may be transferred to servers located in the United States and processed there.

For legal reasons, the use of tracking and (re-) targeting technologies is sometimes only possible with your express consent (so called opt in see 11.2). In other cases you can object to the use of such technologies if you wish (so called opt out see 11.3),

11.2 Use of online marketing products – Opt-in

We only use online marketing products from Google (e.g. Search Ad, Display & Video 360) and Facebook (so-called “Facebook Pixel”) with your express consent, which you can grant by clicking on the "Agree" button in the so-called Cookie Information Layer ("Opt-in"). We store this consent in a cookie on your device so that you are not asked for consent again each time you visit our websites, and for legal reasons, also on our servers with the IP address and a time stamp; we delete this information or restrict its processing if you withdraw your consent or 6 months at the latest after your last visit to our websites.

Should you change your mind at any time, you can withdraw your consent by clicking on the following link:

Costa Rica Travel Information

San Vito: The Undiscovered Town in the South with Cloud Forest, Resplendant Quetzals and Great Pizza

February 9, 2023 By Sammi 6 Comments

If you’re looking to experience a non-touristic destination in Costa Rica that offers plenty of wildlife, nature and unique experiences, head to the South to a town named San Vito in the Coto Brus canton.

This area is widely unknown to tourists and has some very special gems that makes it a great destination in Costa Rica to experience rural tourism and off the beaten path places.

Here is our guide to San Vito to help you plan your visit.

San Vito is in the Coto Brus canton in the Puntarenas province of Costa Rica. San Vito is 269 kilometers (167 miles) and about a 5 hour drive from San Jose. It is locally known to be located in the South of Costa Rica. It is only about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from the Panamanian border.

How to Get There

Driving: You can use Google Maps or Waze as your GPS to get to San Vito. It is about a 5 hour drive from San Jose with no traffic or stops. This route goes on the main highway and the fastest is Via Route 2 and Route 237.

It is a long drive so we recommend to break it up or make it a whole travel day. You can stay a night in San Isidro del General or stop for lunch there if driving in one day. This route has gorgeous views so we definitely recommend taking it slow either way so you can enjoy the views.

The best way to get to San Vito is to drive. Get our Costa Rica car rental discount and extra freebies to save $$!

Public bus: There is a public bus from San Jose to San Vito everyday at 6 AM, 815 AM, 12 PM and 4 PM with Empresa Tracopa (company) leaving Calle 5, Ave 18-20. This bus takes 7.5 hours. There is also a public bus from San Isidro del General at 530 AM and 2 PM everyday leaving from Calle 3, Ave 0-2 with Empresa Tracopa. This bus takes 5 hours.

There are no shared tourism shuttles. Only private shuttles are available. San Vito does have its own domestic airport but it’s not really in use. There are flights to Golfito with Sansa Air and it’s a 1.5 hour drive from Golfito to San Vito.

The history of San Vito’s founding is very interesting. Back in the 1950’s, a group of Italians came to that area looking for a new place to live. They discovered the agricultural potential of what was known back then as Coto Brus and decided to create a new colony there. Lumber and farming would be the backbone of the colony’s economy.

After settling, they brought more Italians over to San Vito and many of them went on to marry Costa Ricans or Panamians. From then on, the town grew and flourished to what it is today.

As of 2020, there is one living Italian from the original founding group and he still lives in San Vito. We had the honor of meeting him and hearing his story which was fascinating!

San Vito town

Today, San Vito is a very normal Costa Rican town with a heavy Italian influence. Tourism is not its main source of income so it’s not overrun with tourists, making it an excellent place in Costa Rica for visitors to experience a normal Costa Rican town.

As San Vito sits around 1000 meters in elevation (3280 feet) inside the Coto Brus valley surrounded by lush rainforest, mountains and rivers, it has plenty to offer the off the beaten path traveler in terms of nature and wildlife, especially birdwatching.

San Vito

The outlying mountains close to La Amistad International Park reach up to over 1500 meters in elevation, making it one of the best places in Costa Rica to see Resplendant Quetzals and the cloud forest.

San Vito, Costa Rica Weather

San Vito experiences the typical tropical season: rainy and dry but sitting higher in elevation, it does tend to be a bit wetter. Tropical dry season is typically December – April, rainy is May – November.

Temperatures fluctuates throughout the year between 18 C – 27 C (64 F to 80 F) with an average of 23 C (73 F). This area tends to rain a bit more with an average of rain 175 days a year.

The sunniest and driest months are mid December – end of March. The rainiest months are September through November.

San Vito was hit very hard by the November 2020 hurricanes which destroyed some roads so the best time to visit San Vito is December – March.

Things to do in San Vito, Costa Rica

Nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts will love San Vito. Here are the best things to do in San Vito! For tours and guides, the best way to arrange them is to ask your hotel to help you. If you rented a car, can you drive yourself to some of the places.

In the Coto Brus canton, there are some of the most spectacular and undiscovered waterfalls in Costa Rica. You will have to arrange it with a local company/guide if you don’t speak Spanish as they’re mostly on private family farms but it’s worth it.

The best ones are with Centro Turistico Los Chocuacos, a family owned property and they can take you to stunning waterfalls like Metaponto. You can contact them via Instagram (@chocuacoslifestyle).

Birdwatching

Although Monteverde is widely known as the best place to see Resplendant Quetzals, the best viewing time are February and March. In San Vito, you can see Resplendant Quetzals nearly all year round! In addition to the Quetzal, there are many other prized birds to see like hummingbirds, toucans and more.

When it comes to birdwatching in Costa Rica , San Vito is one of the best places to go for fewer crowds and more Quetzals. Another excellent birding destination is San Gerardo de Dota , San Ramon and Monteverde .

Wilson Botanical Garden and Las Cruces Biological Station

This is a must see in San Vito. The botanical garden and Las Cruces biological station offers a wonderful opportunity to see all sorts of beautiful flora and fauna with over 2000 native Costa Rican flower, tree and plant species and many animals. It is recommended to take a guided walk of the garden and reserve so you can learn more about the nature from a local guide.

The garden is only 6 kilometers (4 miles) from downtown San Vito on a paved road. You can also stay overnight at the Las Cruces reserve.

Coffee Tour

Although San Vito doesn’t have as many big coffee plantations as the Central Valley, they produce very good coffee via small family farms. It’s very common for local families to own a couple hectares of land dedicated to coffee farming. Many indigenous communities also rely on coffee picking as income.

Local coffee farms in Costa Rica

You can take a coffee tour to a small local family’s farm to see the entire small scale coffee production.

Corredores Caving

Right outside Ciudad Neily, an hour from San Vito are the Corredores Caves. It requires an hour hike along a riverbed to the caves and then you’ll go down into the caves with a guide who’ll take you around and share information.

Must be in good physical condition and not be claustrophobic!

Las Tablas 4×4

Las Tablas is an area very special to San Vito locals. It’s not very far outside town but up in the surrounding mountains and rainforest. San Vito has some excellent 4×4 overlanding routes and Las Tablas is one of them.

Las Tablas

This tour takes you on an extreme 4×4 drive up to Las Tablas to a local family farm. You also have the opportunity to see wildlife along the way.

San Vito Day Trips

From San Vito, there are several day trips you can do.

You can go humpback whale watching in Uvita (2 hour drive one way), visit Golfito (1.5 hour drive one way) or go on a boat ride down the Terraba River to see the mangroves (1 hour drive). You can also go fishing from Sierpe (1 hour & 45 minute drive one way).

Another must do from San Vito is a visit to La Amistad International Park, a park shared by Costa Rica and Panama. You can hike the trails in the park through the rainforest and then enjoy a local hot spring afterwards. If you have a car, drive to the Sector Pittier of the park and hike on your own.

San Vito Hotels

There aren’t a ton of hotels in San Vito but what they do have are comfortable and cozy.

  • Hotel El Ceibo : This hotel is right in downtown with a large parking lot and standard rooms. Very convenient as it’s walking distance to restaurants and everything.
  • Cascata Del Bosco: They are a little bit outside San Vito very close to the Las Cruces Biological station with a beautiful rainforest view and cabinas. Charming hotel, quiet, lots of nature.
  • Las Cruces Biological Station : You can stay in their rooms at the station

San Vito Restaurants

As San Vito has a very heavy Italian influence, this town has some of the best pizza in Costa Rica. Liliana is a local favorite and La Casa Italiana and Le Crepes also have very good food.

We really like Panaderia Flor for pastries, cakes and coffee.

Something interesting about San Vito food is that they don’t really eat tortillas which is a very traditional Costa Rican food. Due to the Italian influence, they eat more bread and you’ll find more delicious bread than tortillas.

Plan Your Trip to San Vito, Costa Rica

Here are some tips on how to visit San Vito (these options are by 4×4 car).

  • San Jose – San Isidro del General – San Vito – Uvita – Manuel Antonio / Jaco – San Jose. You can also do it the other way around.
  • San Jose – San Isidro del General – San Vito – Pavones – Ojochal/Uvita/Dominical – San Jose.

We recommend to stay at least 2 – 4 nights in San Vito since it does take awhile to get there.

Thanks for the tips. We are heading there for the weekend. Small note: “lumbar” should be “lumber”, unless the town was indeed built upon manufacturing lower back supports. 🙂

Haha good point, thanks for catching that.

Disclaimer: I’ve spent four months writing this article, and I’m aware that it may contain grammatical errors. But here’s the thing: I’m not perfect, and I don’t care. I’ve come to a point where I prioritize creativity and expression over rigid grammar rules. Writing is about vulnerability and sharing stories, and I believe that the impact of my words goes beyond any grammatical infractions. So, with an unapologetic embrace of my imperfections, I release this article, knowing that my words have value regardless of any flaws they may have.

The Transformation of Jojo Vito: From Travel Blogger to Plantito –

Exploring new passions amidst the pandemic.

In the midst of the global pandemic, individuals from various walks of life found themselves navigating through unprecedented challenges and seeking new avenues for personal growth and financial stability. One such individual is Jojo Vito, a multi-awarded travel blogger, entrepreneur, school professor, and management consultant, who experienced a remarkable transformation during these trying times. This article delves into Jojo Vito’s journey, as he transitioned from being an avid traveler to embracing the role of a plantito—a term coined for plant enthusiasts—in response to the shifting landscape of opportunities and personal interests.

Jojo Vito’s story is a testament to the resilience and adaptability of individuals faced with adversity. As the pandemic brought travel restrictions and a decline in tourism, Jojo Vito experienced a significant loss of income in his travel blogging and consulting ventures. However, amidst these challenges, he embarked on a new path—a journey into the world of plants.

The Metamorphosis

In the midst of the scary pandemic, Jojo Vito faced a significant setback when he had to temporarily close his business, The Jojo Vito Designs Gallery, for three months due to the strict lockdown measures. Upon reopening, he encountered a major challenge—the income generated from his business was significantly lower than before. To add to his woes, his blogging endeavors, which were a substantial source of income, came to a halt as he was unable to travel, and sponsors and brands withdrew their support.

Amidst this dramatic turn of events, Jojo Vito found solace and inspiration in the encouragement of his friends. Recognizing the surging popularity of ornamental plants, they suggested that he venture into crafting fiberglass jars and planters to cater to the growing demand. Jojo Vito embraced this opportunity and ventured into the world of ornamental plant accessories.

JOJO VITO | TRAVEL BLOGGER TO PLANTITO

With his creative talents and entrepreneurial spirit, Jojo Vito successfully established a niche market for his fiberglass jars and planters. These visually appealing and durable products quickly gained popularity among plant enthusiasts. To complement his accessories, Jojo Vito decided to expand his business further by offering a wide range of plants for sale. This expansion not only allowed him to cater to the increasing demand but also provided a platform for local gardeners to showcase and sell their plants, thereby creating a mutually beneficial ecosystem.

As Jojo Vito’s business continued to flourish, he identified the potential of importing unique and exotic plant varieties from other countries. This move not only expanded his product range but also brought in a sense of novelty and exclusivity, captivating the interest of plant enthusiasts and collectors.

JOJO VITO | TRAVEL BLOGGER TO PLANTITO

Jojo Vito’s journey from a travel blogger and consultant to a successful plantito not only showcased his adaptability and resilience but also highlighted his commitment to supporting the local gardening community. By providing a platform for local gardeners to earn income and fostering connections with international suppliers, he contributed to the growth of the local gardening industry.

Through Jojo Vito’s story, we witness the transformative power of passion, creativity, and adaptability. In the face of adversity, he not only found a way to sustain his income but also created opportunities for others in the community. His journey serves as an inspiration to individuals seeking alternative paths and embracing new passions amidst challenging times.

“One of Jojo Vito’s innovative strategies during the pandemic was the use of live selling to connect with customers. In a remarkable feat, Jojo and his team achieved an impressive eight-hour straight live-selling session, which possibly holds a record for such an extended duration during nighttime. This dedicated effort allowed them to showcase their products, engage with customers in real-time, and provide a unique shopping experience even in the midst of challenging circumstances.”

Strategic Moves [ Jojo Vito ]

One of the key strategies employed by Jojo Vito in his thriving plant business was the creation of colorful and elegant fiberglass jars and planters. Understanding the preferences of his target market, which consisted predominantly of well-off plant enthusiasts, Jojo Vito meticulously designed his products to cater to their taste for sophistication and aesthetics. The striking designs and high-quality craftsmanship of his fiberglass jars and planters quickly captured the attention of his customers, who not only became loyal patrons but also became influencers in spreading the word about his business.

To further personalize his products and create a sense of connection with his customers, Jojo Vito came up with a unique naming strategy. He named each fiberglass jar and planter after his friends and popular personalities in society. This not only added a personal touch to his creations but also made his customers feel a sense of exclusivity and pride in owning a product with their name or the name of someone they admire.

In addition to selling his products through traditional channels, Jojo Vito recognized the power of live selling as a means to reach a wider audience. Through live selling sessions on social media platforms, he showcased his plants and fiberglass jars in real-time, engaging directly with potential customers. Although some initially perceived this approach as “baduy” or “walang class”, Jojo Vito’s sincerity and passion shone through, winning over the hearts of many viewers. His live selling sessions became a hit, attracting not only plant enthusiasts but also individuals who resonated with his genuine commitment to helping local gardeners and the people who supported him during his live selling events.

Jojo Vito’s ability to break the stereotype associated with this type of business and his relentless dedication to uplifting the local gardening community allowed him to succeed in an industry that was often underestimated. Through his colorful and elegant fiberglass jars and planters, he not only catered to the preferences of his target market but also challenged societal perceptions of what defines sophistication and class. By embracing live selling and connecting with his customers on a personal level, he transformed a seemingly outdated approach into an effective marketing tool that resonated with a wide range of individuals.

Jojo Vito’s journey as a plantito demonstrates the power of creativity, innovation, and empathy in business. By defying expectations and leveraging personal connections, he not only achieved financial success but also made a significant impact on the lives of local gardeners and the individuals who supported his live selling endeavors. His story could serve as an inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs to think outside the box, challenge societal norms, and forge genuine connections that can propel their businesses to new heights.

“Despite the pandemic challenges, Jojo Vito appreciates the unwavering support of companies, especially the Department of Trade and Industry, for entrusting him with online training and seminar projects. Their continued patronage not only sustained Jojo’s business but also fostered professional development across industries. Despite the limitations imposed by the pandemic, the commitment to continuous learning and skills enhancement persevered, thanks to these organizations’ support.”

The Power of power of authenticity, passion, and building genuine connections

Although Jojo Vito initially had concerns about people supporting his business out of pity, he chose to focus on showcasing the true value and quality of his products. He understood that building a successful business goes beyond mere sympathy and relies on delivering exceptional products that deserve every centavo spent. With this mindset, he poured his passion, creativity, and dedication into every fiberglass jar, planter, and plant he offered, ensuring that each item was crafted with meticulous attention to detail.

As Jojo Vito continued to grow his customer base, something remarkable happened. People whom he had never met before started to become his customers, drawn in by the genuine appeal of his products. These customers saw the beauty, uniqueness, and craftsmanship of Jojo Vito’s creations and recognized their inherent value. They became loyal patrons and, much to Jojo Vito’s delight, genuine friendships started to form.

For Jojo Vito, the true reward of his plantito journey extends beyond financial gains. It lies in the genuine belief and support that people have for his products. Seeing customers not only appreciate the beauty of his fiberglass jars and planters but also acknowledge the effort and passion behind them brings him immense joy and fulfillment. The relationships that have blossomed from these interactions have become the foundation of his business’s success and have given him a sense of purpose beyond monetary gains.

JOJO VITO | TRAVEL BLOGGER TO PLANTITO

“During one of his deliveries, Jojo Vito supplied fiberglass jars to the municipality of Himamaylan. He extends his gratitude to CG Hisona and Mayor Tongson for their trust in his products. Their support and confidence in his craftsmanship have been instrumental in his success as a supplier, and he appreciates the opportunity to contribute to the beautification and enhancement of Himamaylan through his fiberglass jars.”

Some Heartaches [ Jojo Vito ]

While Jojo Vito’s plantito business brought him immense joy and success, it was not without its fair share of challenges. Like any other business, he faced various obstacles that tested his resilience and determination.

One of the major hurdles Jojo encountered was dealing with customers who didn’t honor their commitments and failed to pay for their purchases. This not only caused financial strain but also left Jojo feeling disheartened. However, he remained steadfast and implemented stricter payment policies to mitigate these issues.

JOJO VITO | TRAVEL BLOGGER TO PLANTITO

Another challenge came in the form of theft. Unfortunately, some unscrupulous individuals saw an opportunity to profit from Jojo’s hard work and would steal his plants or even his uniquely designed fiberglass jars and planters. Jojo had to invest in security measures to protect his inventory and ensure the safety of his products.

Moreover, Jojo had to navigate the world of unfair competition and price wars. As the popularity of plant businesses grew, more players entered the market, leading to increased competition and downward pressure on prices. Jojo had to find innovative ways to differentiate himself from competitors and emphasize the value and quality of his products to maintain his customer base.

JOJO VITO | TRAVEL BLOGGER TO PLANTITO

“Jojo Vito contracted COVID-19 twice, experiencing only mild or no symptoms at all. During his first bout, he was admitted to a medical facility and received support from Vice Mayor Elcid Failiaran, who played a crucial role in his admission. Thanks to the help and support of his friends, especially Femmy Lee Magbanua, who shared the news with their friends, Jojo received an outpouring of assistance even from abroad. He received daily food deliveries, although he couldn’t consume everything, and even left some cash for the nurses at the facility to purchase their meals. For his second infection, he chose to self-isolate in his room at home, taking precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.”

The physical demands of running a plant business also took a toll on Jojo. The nature of his work required constant care for the plants, including watering, pruning, and repotting, which often resulted in physical fatigue. However, Jojo’s passion for his craft and his determination to provide the best products to his customers fueled his perseverance and helped him overcome physical challenges.

In spite of these difficulties, Jojo Vito remained resolute in his commitment to his business and his customers. He tackled each problem head-on, finding solutions and implementing strategies to minimize their impact. Jojo’s unwavering dedication, coupled with his positive attitude, helped him overcome these challenges and emerge stronger.

Jojo Vito was commissioned by Megaworld Bacolod to create the largest wall relief sculpture of the Mascara, which is displayed at the McDonald’s establishment in the Upper East. He expresses his gratitude to VP Harold Geronimo for placing his trust in him, as there were no requests for a design proposal or discussions about the project cost before it began. The Mask Wall has become one of the city’s most photographed sites, attracting locals and visitors alike to admire Jojo’s remarkable creation.
