Nizamabad is a district located in the North-Western region of Telangana. It is a major urban suburb which is the third-largest city in the state of Telangana. Previously part of Andhra Pradesh, Nizamabad was declared the district headquarters that's governed by the municipal corporation after the reorganization act of 2014.

Popularly known as the "City of Nizams", Nizamabad is derived from Nizam and Abad meaning "The Nizam of Hyderabad" and "Long Live" respectively. Nizamabad is city located in Telangana and is also the municipal corporation and headquarters of Nizamabad District. The three main sources of income in the city are agriculture, industrial sector and real estate. The city is counted amongst the urban centres of Telangana and also houses many engineering colleges.

In 18th century, the city was ruled by the king Nizam and derived name from the fourth Nizam of Hyderabad state, Nizam ul Mulk. The city was referred as Indur in past. The Nizam Sagar dam is used to irrigate an area of 250,000 acres in Nizamabad District.

Since, the city is well-connected with various roads; one can find no difficulty in travelling via road. The travellers can find a lodge for themselves easily and eat delectable meals at the eateries sprawling in the region. Some of the food specialities of the region are idly, dosa, vada, poori, pani puri, pav bhaji, jeelebi, dokhla etc. There are many popular eateries in the region such as Manasa Restaurant, Gopal Pav Bhaji, Navrang Fast Food Centre etc.

Climate & Geography

Nizamabad is bordered by Medak district on the South, Nanded district on the West, Adilabad district on the North and Karimnagar district on the East. The city can be traced straddling at a significant distance from the coast. The city experiences tropical savanna climate all year round and the natives also enjoy pleasant pours of rain from the sky in months from June to October. The temperature is as low as 5 °C (41 °F) in summers, and high as 47 °C (117 °F) during winters.
