The Osmonds : A New Musical UK Tour 2022 – Meet the cast

The Osmonds: A New Musical will have its world premiere at Curve Leicester in February 2022. Telling the true story of the family pop phenomena, The Osmonds: A New Musical UK Tour tickets are now on sale.

The Osmonds: A New Musical will receive its world premiere at the Leicester Curve on 3 February 2022, as part of a UK & Ireland Tour, which will run through to November 2022.  The Osmonds: A New Musical UK Tour with story by Jay Osmond tells the true story of the five brothers from Utah who were pushed into the spotlight as children and went on to create smash hits, decade after decade.

From their star residency on The Andy Williams Show from 1962 to 1969, to pop stars and ‘Osmondmania’ from 1971 to 1975, to the arrival of The Donny & Marie Show, a popular variety TV show, from 1976 to 1979, The Osmonds lived a remarkable life recording chart-topping albums, selling out vast arena concerts and making record-breaking TV shows – until one bad decision cost them everything.

Jay Osmond said, “ I’ve wanted to tell my story for such a long time and the opportunity to create this beautiful musical, a sort of ‘living autobiography’, seemed the perfect way to do so.  I spent my whole life performing live – on stage, on TV specials, in arenas – so the buzz of live theatre felt like the perfect place for me.  There were some difficult times in my life, and some big hurdles to overcome, and this musical will tell people things that will surprise them… but despite that trouble, when you look back and think of the fans, the music, the once in a lifetime things we did – it’s joyful.  I guess I want to do this now to try to spread a little bit of that joy.  I’ll know I’ve done a good job telling this story if I stand at the back of the theatre and see people waving their arms in the air, singing along and dancing in the aisles.  I just want people to be enjoying themselves.  I guess that is in the Osmonds’ DNA.” 

The musical features a list of 1970s anthems, including One Bad Apple , Down by the Lazy River , Crazy Horses , Let Me In , Love Me for a Reason , ( We’re) Having a Party , Puppy Love ,  Long Haired Lover From Liverpool ,  Paper Roses  and many more.

The Osmonds have sold over 100 million records worldwide and won 59 Gold & Platinum awards, and now Jay Osmond pulls back the curtain to reveal the real family behind all these hits: parents George and Olive Osmond and their nine children, Virl, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie and Jimmy.

The Osmonds: A New Musical has a story By Jay Osmond and book by Julian Bigg and Shaun Kerrison, and will be directed by Shaun Kerrison, with choreography and musical staging by Bill Deamer.

Meet The Ocsmonds – Ryan Anderson, Jamie Chatterton, Alex Lodge, Jamie Nattrass and Joseph Peacock have been announced as the principal cast playing The Osmonds.

First Look as the cast of The Osmonds musical sing Love Me For A ReasonGeorgia Lennon, Charlie Allen, and Nicola Bryan will play Marie, George, and Olive Osmond respectively in the World Premiere of The Osmonds: A New Musical , joining the previously announced Ryan Anderson as Merrill Osmond, Jamie Chatterton as Alan Osmond, Alex Lodge as Jay Osmond, Danny Nattrass as Wayne Osmond, and Joseph Peacock as Donny Osmond.

Completing the cast are Alex Cardall, Henry Firth, Alex Hardford, Katy Hards, Aidan Harkins, Luke Hogan, Lotus Lowry, Stephanie McKenzie, Jay Osborne, Samuel Routley and Tristan Whincup. Alfie Murray, Jasper Penny, and Joey Unitt will play Young Merrill Osmond; Jack Jones, Harvey Loakes, and Charlie Stripp will play Young Alan Osmond; James Flintoff, Charlie Tumbridge, and Tom Walsh will play Young Jay Osmond; Alfie Jones, Austin Redwood and Thomas Ryan will play Young Wayne Osmond; Matthias Green, Osian Salter, and Nicholas Teixeira will play Young Donny Osmond; and Fraser Fowkes, Austin Riley and Harrison Skinner will play Young Jimmy Osmond.

The World Premiere of The Osmonds: A New Musical is produced by Royo in partnership with Twins Entertainment, with Vicky Nojesproduktion, Krall Entertainment, Aria Entertainment and Guy James Theatrical.

Donny Osmond has been in showbiz for six decades and counting, so he's had the chance to pick up a few tricks of the trade in that time.

And at a recent concert, he proved his ultimate connection with the live crowd.

In some video footage taken by a fan, you can see Donny running through the crowds at the Birmingham show to get up close and personal with his fans, exchange a few hugs, and even ask them for requests.

"Donny Osmond, running through the crowds at his concert in Birmingham," said Kirsty Spence, who posted the video on TikTok.

"He came in to the crowd to meet people and ask them to pick a song. What a man, what a showman."

Donny's last studio album was 2021's Start Again and he's currently in the UK on tour for the first time in six years, marking the 50th anniversary of when Donny first came to the UK with his brothers as part of The Osmonds.

"Performing in the UK has always felt like coming home and I'm thrilled to be returning for a tour," he said ahead of the shows.

"I'm bringing the whole cast from my new Las Vegas production that highlights six decades of entertaining. I can hardly wait to revisit those Osmondmania memories with everyone."

Following the sell out success of shows in Las Vegas, legendary music family THE OSMONDS will celebrate their historic 50th anniversary in entertainment with a fabulous reunion tour of the UK. These landmark performances will feature all seven performing Osmonds – Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie, and Jimmy – the first chance fans will have to see all the family together on stage in the UK for 27 years. During their 50 years in the entertainment industry, The Osmonds have recorded 142 albums, selling over 100 million copies with 51 Gold and Platinum recordings. Catch them at Wembley this Spring!

Cold Chisel Announce 50th Anniversary ‘The Big Five-0’ Australian Tour

Legendary Australian rock band Cold Chise l has excited its fans by announcing their 50th-anniversary tour, this will be a special tour called “The Big Five-0.”

“The Big Five-0” will be a memorable celebration of Cold Chisel’s 50 years of music, bringing fans together for an unforgettable night of classic hits and rock history.

This tour will kick off on Saturday, October 5, in Armidale, where the band spent time in 1974-1975 while Don Walker completed his university studies. The tour will travel around major Australian cities for seven weeks, ending on Sunday, November 17, in Adelaide, where Cold Chisel was formed.

Cold Chisel – ‘Cheap Wines’

This anniversary tour promises to feature all the classic hits that made Cold Chisel a cornerstone of Australian rock music, including “Khe Sanh,” “Bow River,” “Flame Trees,” “You Got Nothin’ I Want,” “When The War Is Over,” “My Baby,” “Cheap Wine,” “All For You,” “Choir Girl,” “Last Wave Of Summer,” “Saturday Night,” “Breakfast At Sweethearts,” and “Forever Now.”

In Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, the shows will be held under a specially constructed 10,000-capacity Big Top tent. This setup includes floor and bleacher seating, as well as a general admission standing area at the back.

These dates will pay homage to the band’s famous “An Evening with the Circus Animals” shows in 1982, which famously ended with Jimmy Barnes singing “Goodbye (Astrid, Goodbye)” while riding a motorbike on a trapeze wire.

Tangerine Dream have announced a London show celebrating the 50th anniversary of their groundbreaking album, Phaedra , at The Barbican on 7 October.

Founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese in Berlin, over the last 53 years, Tangerine Dream released more than one hundred albums. Phaedra was recorded in Oxfordshire and released by Virgin Records in 1974, and is the band's fifth studio album. It will be performed in its entirety by the current line-up of Tangerine Dream, now consisting of Thorsten Quaeschning (since 2005) as musical director, Hoshiko Yamane (since 2011), and Paul Frick (since June 2020). The show will also feature further fan favourites.
