The Rock + Metal Bands Touring in 2024 – Tour Guide
Here is your guide to the big rock and metal tours happening in 2024.
Keeping up with all the live activity in heavy music has reached a point of near impossibility with anywhere between 10 and 30 news tours being announced each and every week. We know it's a lot, so we're here to help make things a lot easier and more convenient for all of you!
With hundreds and hundreds and hundreds more bands all set to hit the road within the span of just a few months, it has never been more difficult to make a decision on which shows to hit. It's almost never been more difficult to afford going to a show with ticket prices soaring well beyond what had been typical in years past.

One of the biggest treks set for 2024 is undoubtedly Creed , who will embark on their reunion tour after playing their first pair of comeback shows aboard the Summer of '99 and Summer of '99 and Beyond festival cruises.
Slipknot are also throwing it back to 1999 with a historic look and they've got a big 25th anniversary tour on the books.
Of course that's just two big tours out of dozens and dozens of notable runs taking place just in North America.
The new announcements never stop coming, so keep checking back here because we'll update this tour guide as more tours inevitably keep coming.

Vended announce huge 2024 UK and Europe tour
"The intensity we’ve felt in the past from Europe and the UK is something we don’t find anywhere else, and we want to return the favour tenfold this next year"

From there, they will make stops in cities including Hamburg, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, Warsaw, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Zurich, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Antwerp, Birmingham, Liverpool, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Nottingham, Brighton and Swansea. Speaking about the tour in a press release, Vended said: “We are thrilled to headline overseas in 2024. The intensity we’ve felt in the past from Europe and the UK is something we don’t find anywhere else, and we want to return the favor tenfold this next year. It is a pleasure to feature our special guests, Profiler and The Gloom In The Corner, to round out the package. See you soon. Welcome to VENDED.”
The band’s most recent release was 2022’s single ‘ Overall ’, following ‘Ded To Me’ which came ahead of their European tour that included headline shows in London and Bournemouth.
Although the group includes the sons of two members from Slipknot, Vended spoke recently about how they carved their own path in the music industry despite people’s assumptions of huge nepotism boosts.
“Yeah, we got more help than other bands do and I’m honest about that,” Simon said in an interview with Kerrang! . “I’m not going to say we didn’t because that’s not fair to who our fathers are.
“They’ve helped us, but they have never, ever, ever , written our music, never showed us how to play, never showed us how to perform onstage, they’ve never done any of that. When people say, ‘Oh, Griffin’s dad’s probably showing him how to scream how he does’, Griff is learning on his fucking own.”
Vended’s debut EP ‘What Is It/Kill It’ was released in 2021.

Six reasons why going to gigs alone is the best.
So you want to go see that metalcore band you love but none of your friends like that “shouty” music? Or you REALLY want to go check out that new artist on TikTok you discovered but all your mates won’t go to a gig where they only know one song? Or worse, your group of friends cannot get themselves organized and work out which show and when to go on a tour, so you’re worried you’ll miss out on tickets. Let them be miserable and start living your best life by going to concerts by yourself. Trust us, it’ll be the best thing you’ll ever do!
Going to gigs alone can be daunting. What am I going to do with myself in between sets? Are people going to think I’m weird? Why would I not want to share the experience?
Listen, we are all for sharing the experience, but sometimes it’s either missing out or going alone, and in those cases we definitely recommend going alone. Here’s a few reasons why you’ll never regret it once you build up the courage to go through with it.
1 . See artists you really REALLY want to see
Imagine the FOMO of missing your favourite band on their new tour, hearing all those new songs live, seeing everyone post about it. Don’t let that happen, and get that ticket. Plus you then get to tell the pals who didn’t want to come how you saw that band or artist before they blew up or how they played that one B-side track that everyone loves – now who has FOMO?
2. Meet new friends
It’s no secret that music brings people together. That moment when everyone’s favourite ballad hits and there’s not a dry eye in the building, you turn to your left or right and suddenly you bond with a stranger over your favourite song. For the metalheads, we also recommend mosh pits, follow the rules of the pit but what a way to make new friends!
3. The freedom
Now hear us out – but going to a gig alone means you can get to the venue when you want, you can go to the loos when you want, you can stand in line at the merch for hours and no one will ask if you’re sure you want to wait. And no one will drag you home when you want to wait after the show has finished and find every piece of confetti or ask for the setlist.
4 . It’s a cult
You are not alone in going to gigs by yourself, you’d probably be surprised by how many people do the same thing. Some fan groups even have entire sub cultures of going to gigs alone (shoutout to Frank Turner’s solo armada, we see you!) – bringing us back to reason #2, new friends.
5. Confidence boost
Going to a gig by yourself will do wonders for your confidence. Sure the first time might feel a bit awkward and weird, but isn’t it always? Remember your first day of school? And then it was kind of okay after a while (let’s ignore our teenage years…) Once you’ve done it and experience all of the divinity of a solo gig you’ll feel free as a bird.
6. Experience the music your way
Whether you love hanging out by the bar, need to be front row, prefer seats or want to leave a bit earlier to catch the last train – the world is your oyster! The experience is yours, you don’t need to coordinate with someone else, rely on them to enjoy the show as much as you are and have as much of a good time as you are. And frankly, if you took a chance on a new genre or new artist and it isn’t your vibe, you can just go home. Glorious.
So there you have it – doesn’t sound too bad now does it?! At the end of the day it all comes down to you and your artist, a concert will always be a shared experience whether with strangers or friends. The most important thing to do is have fun.
Your next gig awaits
It all starts here.

"We want to be the biggest heavy band in the world." How Knocked Loose are taking hardcore to the mainstream - by going heavier, harder and more brutal than ever
Knocked Loose look set to be heavy music's next major breakout band. But how?!
All it takes is one word. Just one word, comprising three letters and one syllable, repeated twice. Bryan Garris, frontman of hardcore superstars Knocked Loose, looks out at the sprawling mass of bodies in front of him at London’s Kentish Town Forum, puts his mic to his lips, and detonates the bomb. “Arf! Arf!” he barks. The rest is chaos. Two and a half thousand people, from the floor to the balcony, are screaming and throwing their legs and fists around with abandon, slamming into each other as if it’s the last thing they’ll ever do.
It might be mayhem, but it’s calculated mayhem, as Bryan explained earlier in the band’s dressing room. “I feel like every decision that we make when it comes to writing is based off the live show,” he said. “We have a setlist that is completely built around crowd participation, and where in our songs we can create moments in a live setting.”
It’s an approach that’s working for them. That “Arf! Arf!” mosh call comes from the song Counting Worms , from Knocked Loose’s debut album, Laugh Tracks . Upon release in 2016, it went viral. Neither an Architects -style bleh, nor a Machine Head -style roar, it was a full-on, never-heard-before dog bark. Not only did it inspire a slew of YouTube reaction videos and memes, it currently has more than 31 million plays on Spotify. Last June, the Oldham County, Kentucky quintet surprise-released two songs with similarly massive mosh calls – Everything Is Quiet Now , featuring the title belted aloud, and Deep In The Willow , with its declaration of ‘Knocked Loose, motherfucker!’
That summer, Billie Eilish was caught on video banging her head side stage as Knocked Loose won over the notoriously snobby Coachella festival, while US pop royalty Demi Lovato gushed about wanting to collaborate with them. But Knocked Loose are a hardcore band – and a monumentally brutal hardcore band at that. How the hell did this happen? To find out, we have travelled to London on a rainy Sunday afternoon to witness Knocked Loose’s biggest-ever headline show. The first person we bump into is their perma-smiling drummer, Kevin ‘Pacsun’ Kaine, who has just been handed a sushi meal deal by an Uber Eats delivery man at the stage door. He leads us up the stairs to the band’s dressing room.
“We love the UK,” he grins. “But man, this weather sucks.” No shit, but there’s still a hardy handful of fans waiting outside the venue a full three hours before doors – something that Pacsun is having trouble coming to terms with. “It’s crazy,” he shrugs. “This whole run’s been just insane.”
We enter Knocked Loose’s dressing room, and Pacsun introduces his bandmates: bassist Kevin Otten, guitarist Nicko Calderon, and frontman Bryan Garris, who is pacing around waiting for his lunch, and seems to have one eye on a crew member’s Greggs sausage roll. The only member missing is lead guitarist Isaac Hale, who is feeling unwell, probably due to the British weather.
Are you familiar with Greggs, Bryan? “Dude, if I could have that stuff imported to the States, there’s no amount of money I wouldn’t pay,” he replies, his eyes bulging. For someone who’s the mouthpiece of Knocked Loose, and who screams with such intensity for a living, Bryan is a softly spoken man with a quiet confidence. Having bonded over a shared love of steak bakes, we ask whether crossover success was ever on his mind. The band might have released Laugh Tracks in 2016 and follow-up album A Different Shade Of Blue in 2019, and toured with heavyweights including Parkway Drive , Beartooth and Gojira, but it’s now that they seem to be breaking into the wider cultural consciousness.

“We’ve always tried to blur what we are, you know?” he replies. “Even back when we were touring at a DIY level, we would do metal tours and hardcore tours, and play with pop punk bands and play with rappers. We just wanted to play as much as we could.” But the things you’ve done are on a scale that’s usually unheard of for a band in your genre. "Yeah, that success has definitely allowed us to do things that we never expected or sought out to do when we started this band,” he continues. “In 2022, we did a tour openingfor [NOLA hip hop duo] $uicide Boy$, which is weird enough, but then we get there and they’re doing 20,000 tickets in New Mexico. It was an amazing experience, them allowing us to play in front of that many people every single night. When we started this band, we never thought we’d see a thousand people, let alone 20.”
It helps that hardcore is having a moment. In the early 2000s , bands with hardcore influences, such as Hatebreed and Refused, shook up heavy music but didn’t infiltrate the mainstream. During the last few years, Code Orange have played WWE pay-per-views, while Turnstile have been nominated for four Grammys, appeared on three major US talk shows ( Late Night With Seth Meyers , Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon ), and have done Glastonbury.
“I think there’s a lot of really cool bands,” says Bryan. “I feel like every year you get to witness a band open new doors for the genre. We’re fans of it first, so we like to support, and we like to see people win. We think that a win for us is a win for everybody, and vice versa.”
But while Code Orange have alt rock and electronic leanings, and Turnstile offer boyband good looks and sun-kissed, good- time 80s vibes, Knocked Loose bring crushing beatdowns, death metal tendencies and naked aggression, underpinned by Bryan’s unique – some would say unusual – screeching. In a genre that still hasn’t had a genuine mainstream breakthrough band, they might be about to succeed. Do you ever consider that in 20 years’ time, when people talk about hardcore, they’ll mention your band in the same way as Agnostic Front or Refused or Hatebreed today?
Every member of Knocked Loose freezes when we say this. They all eyeball each other like it’s never crossed their minds. “That’s just...” Bryan stops for a second. “I mean, thank Wyou for saying that. That’s wild to consider, we’d love that.” We suspect Knocked Loose’s position will only be strengthened with the release of their third album, You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To . Arguably the most extreme-sounding thing they’ve put their name to, it embraces the most sadistically punishing riffs of their career. All this, while featuring an excoriating/sinister turn from the genre-blurring Poppy on Suffocate , and a glass-throated Chris Motionless on the thundering Slaughterhouse 2 (payback for Bryan Garris guesting on Motionless In White’s track, Slaughterhouse ). Anyone who assumed acclaim would lead Knocked Loose down a more melodic path is in for a shock.
“Honestly, we just want to be the biggest heavy band in the world,” shrugs Bryan. “Every record, we’re obviously trying to push ourselves to write more complex music. But when you mix that with how heavy we are, the complexities kind of just make it sound scary and chaotic, which I think works really well for us. We want to see how big we can get without sacrificing any of the chaos that our music has.”
No Billie Eilish collab on the album, then? “It’s not up to us,” Bryan smiles. Surely you’ve reached out?! “I’m sure we could, but ultimately it would be up to her, because that is, essentially, just a really big favour to us,” he adds. Is that stuff a bit weird for you? The Demi Lovato shoutout and Billie watching you at Coachella?
“Nah, I just wish there was a story, but there isn’t really,” laughs Bryan. “I didn’t even see her side stage.” “I didn’t either,” adds Pacsun. “I didn’t know she was there until the video. And I’m glad – I would have shit my britches and dropped my sticks.”
At Coachella, playing on a stage with no barrier, they got the entire crowd jumping and flipping. Security were operating a one-in, one-out policy. “Yeah, they had to cap the tent off when we played,” nods Bryan. “A lot of the time, things happen for Knocked Loose and they’re so amazing, but you’re caught up in the adrenaline of the moment. Then you leave and reflect, and you’re like, ‘Wow, that was like a big deal.’ But I feel like Coachella was one of those times where, while it was happening, I was like, ‘This is a moment for this band. This is a huge milestone for this band.’”
Tonight could be another milestone for the band. With food delivered and eaten, we head downstairs to see Knocked Loose, support acts Deafheaven and Headbussa, and members of the crew pose onstage for the traditional ‘last night of tour’ photo. One face we didn’t expect to see is that of Architects frontman Sam Carter, who has travelled from Brighton. “I’ve come up for the big rock show!” he tells us. “I love these guys, they’re so great.” With the pictures done, the band amble over, each warmly embracing Sam. More friends in high places for Knocked Loose.
We say goodbye to the band, to allow them to prepare for the show. Stepping out into the rain, we see that even more fans have gathered in anticipation of the quintet decimating the capital. When Knocked Loose walk onstage, they inspire total devotion and utter havoc. The mania from those in attendance is the sort of thing you’ve heard people talk about when they harkbackto Slipknot ’s legendary Astoria show in 1999. Bryan transforms from chilled and thoughtful into a screeching, spin- kicking lunatic, while the songs sound crushingly monumental. During a closing Counting Worms and Everything Is Quiet Now , the crowd singalongs are deafening. Knocked Loose might not be the biggest heavy band in the world yet, but you would be a fool to bet against them.
“I feel like every ceiling that at least I expected the band to reach has been blown past,” Pacsun tells us, when we ask just how big Knocked Loose could be. “So, I am at a point personally where I don’t know what that looks like anymore. Everything’s been exceeding these expectations that I set for myself, and then for what I hoped the band would achieve. I’m just blown away by all of it.”

With less than a month to go ’til the release of their highly anticipated new album Halo Effect on April 12, 2024, KRIS BARRAS BAND reveal their latest single “ Secrets ” and its official video.
One of modern hard rock’s most exciting breakouts in recent years, the Devon-raised band offer up a solid slab of arena-sized grit with Halo Effect . “ Secrets “ concludes a string of advance singles showcasing the wide range of what’s in store for fans.
Frontman Kris Barras confides, “ ‘ Secrets’ is about having to keep a secret for a loved one. You’re bound by keeping it but know that telling the truth will make things better. It’s about guilt eating you away and wanting it all to end.
This was actually the first whole song that we wrote for the album. I remember that Josiah and I had been working on the music all day on the tour bus, then after the show that night, I ended up staying awake until 3am writing the lyrics. When the creative juices are flowing, you’ve just got to go with it!
We shot the video in a church in Essex with Shaun from Loki Films. I’ve been a fan of his work for a while, so it was great to get to work with him. The idea behind shooting in a church was to be confessing our sins, revealing the ‘secret’. ”

Halo Effect Track List
Hourglass Unbreakable With You Savages Fall To Fly Waste Away Reflections Secrets Landslide Fear Of Letting Go Apocalypse
Bonus Tracks
(Only available on Piano & Acoustic Edition) Hourglass (Piano Version) Landslide (Piano Version) Secrets (Piano Version) Unbreakable (Acoustic Version) With You (Acoustic Version)
Amplifying the heavier sound from their last album Death Valley Paradise , Halo Effect delivers hard-hitting riffs, soaring choruses, and fuse-lighting technical solos. Fans got a first taste of Halo Effect last year with lead single, “ Unbreakable ” before the band came out swinging in 2024 with “ Hourglass “. Clearly not a one trick pony, the group then flipped everyone’s expectations upside down, sharing “ Landslide (Piano Version) ” from the indie store edition of the CD, which is performed on piano! Most recently, the band pivoted again, sharing accessible earworm “ Savages “.
Halo Effect is available to pre-order at earache.com/krisbarrasband , including colour vinyl (including a signed white & black splatter edition), signed CD, cassette, and on digital platforms.
The indie store only CD, Halo Effect – Piano & Acoustic Edition , includes alternative artwork alongside 5 bonus acoustic and piano versions of album tracks. Pre-ordering that edition also grants entry to one of the intimate in-store events where Kris and Josiah from the band will do a short acoustic set and meet fans for autographs and photos. For start times, and to pre-order this special edition and attend an in-store event, click here .
For the full, electric live experience, don’t miss their UK headline tour in April 2024, kicking off in just two weeks time at The Foundry in Barras’ hometown of Torquay.
KRIS BARRAS BAND also headline the historic Chepstow Castle on August 15, 2024, with support from Stone Broken, The Hot Damn!, and Dan Byrne. Get tickets here .
former long-time Muay Thai and MMA pro-fighter, Kris Barras has his fans to thank for the conception of Halo Effect , which was written whilst riding the crest of the crowd response that the band experienced on their 2023 UK tour.
“‘Halo Effect’ still keeps the essence of what Kris Barras Band is: big riffs and even bigger choruses,” concludes Kris . “It’s just that, this time, we’ve turned everything up to 11 and beefed it up! ”
KRIS BARRAS BAND comprises frontman Kris Barras , Josiah J. Manning on guitar, Billy Hammett on drums, and latest member Frazer Kerslake on bass.

Legendary metal band play their iconic longest song live for the first time
Share this with
Metallica made history on Sunday night in Munich, Germany , by performing their longest song, Inamorata, live for the very first time.
The 11-minute track, which appears on their 11th studio album 72 Seasons , had never been played live until this tour.
This momentous occasion occurred as part of their ongoing M72 European tour, which is in support of their latest album.
Frontman James Hetfield introduced the song with palpable excitement, captured in fan-shot videos.
‘This next song, we have never, ever played live before,’ Hetfield announced to the excited crowd.
‘And, you know, in our band we don’t recognize the word “mistake,” because there are no “mistakes.” There’s just unique moments that happen, all right? That’s what we need to tell ourselves. This one is from 72 Seasons. It’s one of my favorites, so I’m gonna like it.’
Imamorata narrowly misses being the band’s longest recording, though it is their longest original song. That title goes to Mercyful Fate an 11:11 minute medley of covers paying homage to the Danish heavy metal band of the same name, featured on Metallica’s 1998 compilation album Garage Inc.
The Munich performance was part of a two-night engagement in the city, featuring unique setlists and different opening acts each night.
Friday’s concert was highlighted by a dramatic thunderstorm, creating a surreal and powerful backdrop as the band played their classic Master of Puppets, with lightning illuminating the sky.
Friday’s lineup included opening acts Architects and Mammoth WVH, led by Wolfgang Van Halen.
Sunday’s show saw Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills warming up the crowd before Metallica took the stage.
In addition to Inamorata, Metallica’s setlist featured staples like Creeping Death, One, and Enter Sandman, along with other tracks from 72 Seasons such as If Darkness Had a Son and the title track.
The band’s dynamic setlist clearly reflects their intent to keep performances fresh and engaging even though the band has been playing for audiences for more than 40 years.
Bassist Robert Trujillo explained the band’s strategy behind their evolving setlists.
‘Initially, we thought it would be really clever and exciting to open the show with an instrumental, like The Call Of Ktulu or Orion,’ Trujillo told Classic Rock.
‘We found that an instrumental is very powerful for the set but it sits much better in the middle of a set, it’s a chance for the fan to absorb and embrace the song. Rather than just coming out throwing a curveball at them, we would rather come out with a Whiplash or a Creeping Death, something that kind of smacks you in the face.’
The band’s newest album, which came out last year, was their first number one album in 15 years.
72 seasons is also their first collection of new material since 2016, and it soared to the top spot of the UK charts.
The M72 tour continues to captivate audiences across Europe, offering a mix of Metallica’s iconic hits and new tracks from their latest album.

Love and Rockets and Jane’s Addiction Announce 2024 North American Tour
- May 28, 2024
- Alice Teeple
J ane’s Addiction and Love and Rockets are joining forces for a co-headlining 2024 North American tour. The two legendary alt-rock groups will embark on a 23-city trek starting in early August.
Love and Rockets, named after the Hernandez brothers’ iconic underground comic, dropped seven records over thirteen years. They burst onto the scene with their distinct take on the Temptations’ Ball of Confusion . This debut set the stage for their influential career, which spanned fourteen years and seven albums. After a 15-year hiatus, Love and Rockets re-formed in 2023 for a series of shows. Despite singer-guitarist Daniel Ash declaring those UK dates as their last, the band is ready to hit the road again.
Jane’s Addiction, formed in 1985, has been a trailblazer in alternative music and culture, blending genre-defying hits with a cinematic live experience. The lineup features the dynamic Perry Farrell on vocals, guitar virtuoso Dave Navarro, powerhouse drummer Stephen Perkins, and the rhythmic pulse of bassist Eric Avery. Their initial farewell tour in 1991 famously launched Lollapalooza, now the ultimate alternative rock festival.
This tour marks the first stateside run in 14 years with Jane’s Addiction’s classic lineup. Navarro recently rejoined the band in London after a lengthy battle with long COVID, while Avery returned to the fold in 2022 after over a decade apart.
The tour begins August 9th in Las Vegas and concludes with a September 29th gig at the Evolution Festival in St. Louis. Along the way, the bands will hit cities like Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Boston, and Chicago, among others.
An artist pre-sale begins today at 12:00 p.m. local time (use code REDEMPTION ) via Ticketmaster.
