What Sets Princess Apart

 • Immersive Exploration – Being chosen as the “Best Cruise Line Itineraries” by Cruise Critic and awarded “Best Cruise Ship Excursions” by Global Traveler Magazine is the result of Princess’ dedication to immersion and exploration. With our Local Connections program, Princess partners with local experts to create shore excursions that give the feel and flavor you’ll desire from a cruise. Princess teamed with Discovery™ to create the Discovery at SEA program, offering you an array of fascinating onboard programs for the whole family, based on hit programs like Deadliest Catch, Shark Week and Gold Rush. Princess also crafts our itineraries to offer more time in port with More Ashore late night (9 pm or later) and overnight stays in every region, allowing you to see the sights during the day and experience the nightlife.
 • Freshly Prepared Cuisine – Food is interwoven with travel. From discovering the unique flavors of a new city to watching a dish come together, some of the best travel memories revolve around food. With fresh regional cuisine made from scratch and culinary tours in every region, we feed your body and your sense of wonder.
 • Rejuvenation – A cruise isn’t just one adventure after another from dawn ’til dusk. With cruising, your resort travels with you and offers a blend of excitement and rejuvenation not found elsewhere. CNBC ranked Princess the “#1 Cruise Line for Relaxation” in 2018, and you will understand why, with amenities like the Sanctuary, a retreat for adults that offers al fresco massages, refreshing beverages and Serenity Stewards to attend to your needs. If deeper relaxation is needed, you can indulge in the award-winning Lotus Spa® with a hot stone massage, aromatherapy sauna or detoxifying facial. When the day is done, you retire to the Princess Luxury Bed for the ultimate night’s rest.
 • Engaging Entertainment – First-time cruisers sometimes wonder what there will be to do on days at sea. We love the moment on board when you discover that each ship is filled with so much engaging, exciting and varied entertainment that it would take many cruises to experience it all. Performances beckon from every corner of a Princess ship, including live music and street performers in the Piazza, world-class magicians and illusionists, and top headliner comedians. Don’t miss our Broadway-Caliber production shows that you can only see in the state-of-the-art Princess theaters.

Ratings and Reviews

I have updated to the most recent ‘revision’ and it takes a long time to open. I have the loading circle of doom for an age, in fact sometimes I give up completely and that’s not good when I’m due on my first Princess cruise in a week. I have updated my IOS to the latest version and even deleted the app and started again but I am still having issues. The app takes a very long time to open, I can’t see the ship guide or journey or anything but my booking. Please sort this out quickly

Awful App won’t book with Princess again

We booked our cruise a year ago and have paid our balance in full. We are due to sail in less than 9 weeks and still can’t make dining reservations through the app or website. We have contacted Princess multiple times, each time receiving conflicting advice which does nothing to resolve the issue. We have been trying to make reservations for months, have spoken to Princess multiple times over those months and still nobody can help us. We need to make our reservations in advance as we are travelling with young children. Appalling service from what is supposed to be a premium cruise line.

Loyalty Status update needed.

I am currently running both apps and have to say I still prefer the old version, but also accept that the new one is very much evolving. Please, though, would you look very seriously at bringing people’s loyalty status across to the app. There are so many inconsistencies- some people’s status is correct, others, like myself, have no status recorded, so I can’t pre-purchase the medallionet Internet package and get my 50% discount deducted at point of payment. Looking forward to further updates.

Yes, your favorite line’s shiniest ship might have robot butlers, an indoor ski slope and five helipads (we’re slightly exaggerating), but take time to think about which amenities you’ll actually use before splashing the cash. Plus, the newest ships aren’t always the most exciting: Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas launched back in 2008 and serves up glow-in-the-dark laser tag, one of the largest water parks at sea and the Bionic Bar, where drinks are poured by androids.

Worried about bagging that poolside sun lounger or nabbing the best spot for the sunset? Give yourself a head start by splashing out on access to exclusive areas of the deck. Perks range from butler service and spa treatments to chilled face towels and poolside cabanas. One of our favorites is Royal Caribbean’s new-for-2022 Suite Neighborhood, which comes with 5-star dining and an infinity plunge pool. Norwegian Cruise Line’s version is The Haven, often referred to as a ship-within-a-ship. Crank up the comfort by adding your own cabin upgrades, whether it’s your favorite pillowcase or a photo of loved ones. Make your cabin soothing for the senses: lighting a scented candle is probably a no-no, but consider investing in a sweet-smelling room spray before setting sail or purchase one onboard. A growing number of cruise lines (including MSC Cruise Lines and Seabourn) now have signature scents, often sold in the form of room sprays and pillow mists.

Thinking of a multi-generational vacation? Save your hard-earned cash by booking cheaper cabins for certain members of your entourage.
Many modern cruise ships make the Titanic look tiny, and there's often more decks than you know to explore. Sure, deck number nine might be a great spot from which to soak up evening views and deck seven might boast the most sun loungers, but to avoid the crowds the lower decks should certainly be on your radar. They’re usually darker with less lighting, which means they’re great for stargazing sessions, and in rougher seas you’ll feel significantly less motion on decks closer to the waterline.

Cruises are perfect for a digital detox, but at some point you'll probably want to send photos to loved ones or check in on the news. If you’re planning to purchase an internet package, we’d advise against buying deals that detail a certain number of megabytes or hours. Ship-based connectivity is improving but it can still be sketchy at sea, and nothing’s worse than watching your allowance drain away while you wait for an email to send. Packages allowing unlimited use for the day or the whole cruise tend to offer the best value for money – typically costing around $12 a day. And if you do opt for a timed package, remember you may have to log off in order to stop the clock. The other option is to buy a data package that allows you to use your phone while in port for a much lower cost than using ship Wi-Fi.

Many cabins don't offer the largest or best of showers, but there's a simple solution – take a shower in the spa where you will often find much nicer and larger showering options. Sometimes there's also much better shampoo and conditioner than you'll find in your cabin.
