Jesus Culture is a Christian youth outreach ministry that began in 1999. Since then it’s grown into a travelling revue, touring all over the world holding sermons via the medium of live music performances with a variety of different Christian artists.

Jesus Culture began with a special sermon at the Bethel Church in Redding, California. Led by pastor Banning Liebscher, it was special due to its focus on music and its target audience of young people and teenagers. It was a roaring success attended by 500 people, a huge turnout for such a grassroots project. The first Jesus Culture sermons were held at the same venue, but the turnout was getting bigger and bigger, and the Bethel Church could only hold so many people. Taking note that people were travelling across states to attend Jesus Culture, the brains behind the ministry decided to hold the events regularly, and would feature other Christian music artists travelling to perform with them along with its worship leaders.

The events became ever more succesful, and in 2005 they released their first album of songs performed at these sermons, “Forever”. 2005 was also the year that they decided to take the show on the road, shipping up to Atlanta, Georgia to perform to 300 passionate believers. By 2006 they were taking the show all over the country, and ever since then Jesus Culture sermons have been performed all over the world. 2011 saw their first Arena concert in Chicago, Illionois and remain to this day as one of the must see forces in Christian music. Highly recommended.

Live reviews

Such an amazing show! We were disappointed that Kim Walker wasn't there, even though it listed her on the lineup, but that didn't ruin the show at all. It was still an incredible and very powerful event. The acoustic worship set at the beginning was beautiful. Ending with In the River topped it off and kept us going the whole 2-hour ride home. I definitely recommend it!

Grammy Awards 2023: The Full List of Nominees

Artists, albums and songs competing for trophies at the 65th annual ceremony were announced on Tuesday. The show will take place on Feb. 5 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
