After teasing fans about the prospect last week, Paramore have confirmed they’re heading to Australia on tour.

“G’day,” the beloved post-punk band posted on social media, alongside the date 6.27. A link was included which led to a special website, Paramore Down Under , which asked “why we gotta be in a rush?” On the website, fans are able to sign up with their email address to receive updates about the potential Aussie tour.

Paramore have announced five Australian dates and a stopover in New Zealand. They’ll perform in Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in November, supported by special guest Remi Wolf (see full dates below).

It will be the band’s first time in Australia since 2018. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, July 6th at staggered times (Auckland at 10am AEST/Brisbane at 11am AEST/Sydney at 12pm AEST/Melbourne at 1pm AEST).

The Frontier Members pre-sale begins on Monday, July 3rd, again at staggered times (Auckland at 10am AEST/Brisbane at 11am AEST/Sydney at 12pm AEST/Melbourne at 1pm AEST).

It’s been a busy year of touring so far for Paramore in 2023, taking in dates in South America and North America, while they joined Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour . Hayley Williams also memorably linked up with Foo Fighters at Bonnaroo earlier this month, performing a surprise rendition of “My Hero”.

Paramore are touring in support of their latest album, This Is Why , which they opened up a pair of pop-up stores in Sydney and Melbourne for in February.

This Is Why , their first album since 2017’s After Laughter , reached the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart. The band’s sixth studio album was also a top five hit in the US and UK.

Paramore return for the first time in five years for a string of massive shows

The band Paramore perform in Australia

  • X (formerly Twitter)

It's happening, Paramore are returning down under for the first time in five years for sizzling late spring tour, which includes their biggest Australian headline show to date.

Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne will be treated to an absolute riot of a tour in late November as the Tennessee trio make their way down the east coast once again. This is an emergency . Are you listening?!

It's been a minute since the pop-punk stalwarts came through and with a catalogue of bangers spanning nearly 20 years under their belts, there's no doubt that these shows are going to sell like nobody's (misery) business.

And to pump up the hype for all disco mans out there, California's own  Remi Wolf  will be bringing her photo ID and to join Paramore on all dates.

Paramore will be kicking off their visit across the ditch in Auckland before heading to Brisbane on November 22. From there, they'll be taking to the stage under the stars at Sydney's Domain – their biggest solo Aussie gig to date – and rounding it all out in Melbourne right before summer hits.

Update:  Big news! Due to huge demand with the tour's presales, two more dates have been announced for Paramore's visit down under.

They've tacked on extra shows in Brisbane and Melbourne, extending their visit to basically the whole back end of November.

Update 11/09/2023:  Heads up Naarm, Paramore has announced a third and final show at Rod Laver Arena after the first two sold out like nobody's business.

The Tennessee trio will hit the stage again on November 30 with Remi Wolf in that huge support slot, bumping the tour out to a seven-date affair.

Brisbane shows have also had tickets added to both dates, so don't sleep on the next drop!

Tickets for all shows are on sale on Friday 15 September at 2pm, and there's a new presale happening for that new Melbourne date on Thursday 14 September. Check out the tour's website for all the important details so you can get the group chat synchronised.

Get around all the dates and details below and we'll see you in the pit for this massive return.

Time Out says

Rock out under the stars when Paramore plays their biggest Aussie headline show to date at the Domain

Calling all grown-up emo Millennials! If you’ve sworn off buying concert tickets for the foreseeable future, you might be about to make this ‘The Only Exception’. But this doesn’t spell ‘Misery Business’, especially if you’ve got a ‘Crushcrushcrush’ on Paramore.

The Grammy Award-winning US trio – Hayley Williams, Zac Farro and Taylor York – will touch down in Australia and New Zealand this November, following their most recent visit in 2018 when they played sold-out East Coast dates. Did someone say Riot ?! After all this time, we’re ‘Still Into You’.

Currently taking their mammoth live show across North America, Paramore has had a whirlwind start to 2023: they embarked on a South American tour in March, joined  Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour for two nights in Arizona, played two sold-out Madison Square Garden shows in June, and last week they achieved a career high, blowing crowds away at Bonnaroo with Hayley Williams jumping on stage with the Foo Fighters for a surprise rendition of ‘My Hero’. The band’s highly anticipated sixth studio album This Is Why was released in February to incredible support from fans and critics alike, topping charts in Australia and the UK.

Joined by special guest Remi Wolf, Paramore will head through Auckland, Brisbane and Melbourne before landing at Sydney’s Domain on Saturday, November 25, performing to a GA audience (ages 16+) for an extra special night of music under the stars and their biggest Australian headline show to date.

A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to leading food rescue organisations OzHarvest (Australia) and KiwiHarvest (New Zealand) to help reduce food waste and create lasting positive social change.

General public tickets for the Sydney concert go on sale from noon on Thursday, July 6. Frontier Members Pre-sale runs for 24 hours from noon on Monday, July 3 (or until the pre-sale allocation is exhausted).

More Paramore

The anticipation has been high for Paramore ’s long-awaited Australian tour, and now, we finally have the tour dates.

The rumours began at the beginning of the month when a fan on Twitter met vocalist Hayley Williams and Brian O'Connor , the co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer of her hair dye company, Good Dye Young and asked if the band would be heading to Australia anytime soon, with Williams reportedly responding, “yes in November”. That was correct.

Two weeks later, the band began sending DMs to their biggest fans in Australia and New Zealand, asking, “What’s your address?” One of the fans who received said DM took to TikTok to share what she received after sending Paramore her address, which was a November Australia and New Zealand tour t-shirt and matching stickers. You can watch that TikTok here .

Last week, Paramore started officially teasing their first Australian tour since February 2018 . The US pop-punk legends posted a photo to their social media platforms with black text on a white background, stating, "6.27 – g’day." They also included a link to a mailing list:  paramoredownunder.com .

This November, the legends at Frontier Touring are bringing Paramore back to Australia for a run on the East Coast and a date in Auckland, New Zealand.

Paramore – Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro , joined by special guest, Californian blues singer Remi Wolf , will head to Auckland’s Spark Arena on Saturday, 18 November, Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Wednesday, 22 November, and Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Monday 27 November.

They will also visit Sydney’s iconic Domain on Saturday, 25 November, performing to a GA audience for an extra special night of music under the stars and their biggest Australian headline show to date.

Paramore’s fifth album was recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A – also their first time recording in their beloved hometown. Produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen (M83, Jimmy Eat World, Beck) and Paramore’s own Taylor York, After Laughter signalled the return of founding member Zac Farro to the band. It debuted at #3 on the ARIA Charts , featuring the hugely successful singles ‘Hard Times’ – which has had over 50 million views on its colourfully playful video which Billboard declared “addictive” – and ‘Told You So’ which saw over 7 million views in its first two weeks alone. Long regarded as an exhilarating live act with a non-stop show led by the fearless Hayley Williams , with Taylor York on guitar and Zac Farro back on drums, Paramore are a bona fide juggernaut, selling over 6 million albums and leaving a trail of sold out headline arena tours in their wake. They have sold out iconic venues around the world including Madison Square Garden and Wembley Arena, and performed show-stealing headline festival sets at the likes of Reading and Leeds Festivals, Riot Fest and their own four-day festival cruise PARAHOY!. With Tour Four hitting some of Australia’s most well-loved arenas, these will be Paramore’s first headline shows Down Under since their last tour in February 2014.

Recent tour reviews

This is the third time I've seen this wonderful band but the first time I've actually paid to see them exclusively. The other two were at festivals.

What you see with Hayley Williams and her merry crew is what you get. A powerful, energetic, sometimes outrageous performance. The music they wrote in their first three albums contributes heavily to this. They made lively punk-pop music and their shows reflect that.

But something changed this time around. Paramore's most recent piece of work, After Laughter, completely changes direction from what they're historically used to providing. While it's a solid album in its own right, it doesn't blend well with the old stuff.

So the group has made a similar switch in their live shows. Two songs from RIOT!, one from Brand New Eyes, nothing from All We Know Is Falling in the setlist. After Laughter was played almost in its entirety, turning this more into a pop concert than a punk one.

Don't get me wrong, Hayley and crew still provide a great night of entertainment and their audiences are equally as explosive. It's just now expectations need to be managed accordingly. For some, this is the end of the line. For me? I'm not sure. But if you come looking for one of the best rock acts on the planet, you may leave feeling a little disappointed.

Absolutely amazing. I was standing and I was very close to the front. The whole stage presence of the band was incredible and Hayley Williams especially connected so well with the audience. I was looking foward to this show since September, and God was it worth the wait. I’ve seen a lot of bands in my life, but they are right up there with the likes of Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi and Guns n Roses. If all the concerts I’ve been to, this just might be my favourite yet.

And when Hayley chose someone from the crowd to come up on stage and sing Misery Buisness I was jumping as high as I could shouting “ Pick me, pick me!”. Although I was not picked, it didn’t matter, it was still in my eyes, the best band I’ve seen yet. Unfortunately I’m only 15 but if I could drive, I would’ve booked tickets for another show that same night.

Being able to jump and sing to songs like Still into You, Misery Buisness, Ignorance and That’s what you Get was an experience I could not have imagined to be any better. Thank you for an amazing show Paramore. I’ll see you next time

Thanks for the Memories BECAUSE THEY WERE SO GREAT | Monumentour 2014:

On August the 2nd, 2014, with a full bladder and a happy heart I arrived at the Austin360 amphitheater to live out a dream – See Fall Out Boy perform live.

After a brief visit to a way-too-hot Port O Potty and a little loss of dignity, that dream was well on its way to becoming true.

I’m sad to say that I missed the opening band (New Politics). I’m going to go ahead and put the blame for that one on my mom. She’s perpetually late to everything. And yes, that’s right ladies and gents, I do indeed go to concerts with my mom. She can hang 10x better than most people I know and we have virtually the same taste in music. Anyways, after finding our seats (because this was a seated venue which, *annoyed sigh*, we’ll get into another time) it was time for the second band to take the stage. And let me tell you, they made themselves known by firing confetti guns that nearly gave me a heart attack. FOUR TIMES. FOUR MINI HEART ATTACKS. I suppose I should probably tell you that the confetti firing band was Paramore. Maybe you’ve heard of them? Oh, who am I kidding? Everyone knows Paramore, and for good reason.

They’re music is totally energetic and now I can vouch that their performances are too. From the synchronized head banging during Misery Business to the cheesy “we’re all a family” speech, there wasn’t one boring moment during their set. They played both older and newer songs, keeping up the energy and excitement the whole time. Hayley and the boys are so cute when they interact. I have this fantasy that they eat pizza rolls and watch The Simpsons together when they’re not touring. Also, my crush on bassist, Jeremy Davis, only increased when I saw his dance moves. AND THE TATTOOS. MY GOODNESS.

Next up was a music video interlude which I am totally all for. Then, we all went home. JUST KIDDING. After the music videos, the stage lights were dimmed, a creepy voice started talking about fears, and from the center of the platform, four glorious human beings arose. Fall Out Boy started their performance by playing The Phoenix and from there played incredible song after incredible song (because that’s the only kind of song they write). They even did a Queen cover at one point and that is always okay in my book.

I have a lot of feelings about this band. I’ve been a fan since the days of guyliner (ehem, Pete) and novels-for-song titles. On one hand, they make me feel totally hardcore because of their bangin music but on the other hand, I feel like a gigantic puddle of fangirl because they’re all really adorable. I mean, at a certain angle, Joe looks like Patrick Dempsey circa Can’t Buy Me Love, and then you’ve got the precious teddy bear on drums. Andy wore a stoic, almost grumpy, face of concentration for most of the show only to smile and melt my heart at the end.

Next you have the ball of cheese that is Pete. He did most of the talking throughout the performance and the lil’ cutie spewed cliché after cliché about following your dreams and “choosing your own fucking happiness” and it was glorious.

Do I even need to explain Patrick’s preciousness? I swear, he and Johnny Depp are the only two people in the world who can work a fedora. I just want to hug him and cuddle him and kiss him gently on the forehead AND THEN HE HAD TO GO AND DO A THING LIKE BREAK OUT HIS DRUM SKILLS. Hot damn. He and Andy did an incredible drum sesh/ mash up thing with Jay Z’s 99 Problems. Super cool.

Overall, Fall Out Boy performed so well. I’m just sad I haven’t seen them perform live sooner. They seem like amazing people and they deserve every single fan that filled up the crowd.

Nomadic Matt: Travel Cheaper, Longer, Better

The Best Walking Tours in Sydney

Skyscrapers along the waterfront in Sydney, Australia on a bright and sunny day

Sydney is the most popular and largest city in Australia. If you visit the country, you’re going to visit here. Home to five million inhabitants (about 20% of the entire population), it has a ton of things to see and do , from the iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge to its stunning beaches and plentiful museums (many of which are free).

As the country’s biggest city and most popular destination for tourists, there is a lot to do here. Beyond the typical sites, museums, and activities, there are also a lot of incredible walking tours that give you a sense of the people and culture of the city.

I love walking tours for this reason. Led by a local, they give you information you wouldn’t find by just wandering around on your own. You get someone who can answer your questions and share their insider tips.

There are a lot of walking tours in Sydney to choose from. To help you avoid some of the less than great ones, here’s my list of the best walking tours in Sydney:

BEST OVERALL TOUR

Bonza Bike Tours logo

Bonza Bike Tours

Bonza Bike Tours takes pedalers on a four-hour, two-wheeled adventure, hitting all the sites — the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Observatory Hill, the Rocks, Barangaroo Park, and much more — all while being regaled with quirky historical tales and facts about the city. Halfway through the ride, the group stops for a rest and a quick beer.

Tours start at 149 AUD.

Best Free Tour

Free Walking Tour Sydney logo

Locl Tour Sydney

Meet your guide at Archibald Fountain in Hyde Park at 10:30am and get ready for an info-packed 2.5 hours. Locl Tour Sydney offers an excellent primer on Sydney, which means if you’re a first-time visitor, consider doing this walking tour at the beginning of your stay. The tour delves into everything from Aboriginal history to the Opera House to the country’s infamous sharks and snakes. Just remember to tip your guide at the end!

While those may be the best free and paid tours in town, there’s a lot more on offer. Here are a few more of the best walking tours in Sydney to help you have fun during your stay:

1. Sydney True Crime Tour

If you’re looking for a tour that explores the grittier side of the city beyond the standard tourist sites, this is the one for you. Over 90 minutes, you’ll wander historic areas around The Rocks neighborhood and learn about nefarious criminals and infamous crimes (the country was colonized by criminals, after all). The tour takes you down narrow alleys and into secret nooks as you discover Sydney’s underbelly. It’s pretty cool.

Tours start at 34 AUD.

Book here!

2. Fit City

If you’d like a more active tour, this is a good one. This company runs guided walking, hiking, and running tours in the area. One of their unique offerings is the 4.5-hour Manly Hiking Tour. During the 11-kilometer (7-mile) trek, you’ll get some stunning views and learn a lot about the surroundings from the local guide. The hike culminates in Manly (one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city ) where you can stroll the area’s charming streets and replenish yourself with well-earned food and drink.

Tours start at 97 AUD.

3. Sydney Architecture Walks

You don’t have to love buildings and their various styles to have a great time on a tour with Sydney Architecture Walks. Led by actual architects, these tours are jargon-free adventures that give visitors a deeper knowledge beyond why certain buildings are pretty. The 2-3-hour, small-group tour focuses on the patterns and forces that have shaped the appearance of contemporary Sydney, making it appropriate for anyone looking to learn more about the city’s history and design.

Tours start at 49 AUD.

4. Local Sauce Tours

Local Sauce Tours offers a variety of unique small group tours that are capped at 12 participants to ensure an intimate and fun experience. One of their most popular tours is the “Drink & Discover Secret Bar Crawl,” which showcases a mix of hidden and top-rated bars. Each night of the week highlights a different neighborhood (tours are offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays), so if you wanted to drink your way around a few different areas with new friends, you could – just by taking this tour on different nights of the week.

If you’re more about the food than drink, try the “Local Sydney – Aussie Food, Culture & Coffee” tour, where you’ll sample a variety of Aussie treats (like vegemite toast and a flat white coffee) while wandering through historic neighborhoods. In addition to special interest tours, they also offer a 3-hour, Ultimate Sydney Walking Tour for first-time visitors. It covers all the major attractions while also teaching about Aboriginal culture and history.

Tours start at 60 AUD.

5. Lantern Ghost Tours

For a spooky tour around town, check out Lantern Ghost Tours , Australia’s largest ghost tour company. Their tours run on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and take curious travelers around ghoulish sites where hair-raising crimes occurred and spirits haunt residents still. The tours last 90 minutes.

Tours start at 36 AUD.

6. Journey Walks

This tour company offers a few themed walks, but the one you shouldn’t miss is the 2.5-hour stroll around convict-era Sydney, on which guides lead a maximum of 14 guests around the city’s notorious colonial beginnings (mostly focusing on the Rocks area), when Sydney was a playground for British convicts. You’ll hear a lot of fascinating tales and stories that may inspire you to explore more on your own. The tour is a must for history buffs!

7. The Rocks Aboriginal Dreaming Tour

Developed by Aboriginal Elder, Margret Campbell, and led by Aboriginal guides, this special walking tour simultaneously leads participants through ancient Aboriginal DreamTime and modern-day Sydney. On the 90-minute tour, you’ll learn about Aboriginal history, culture, and language while stopping at culturally important sites in the Rocks.

A big focus of this tour is the cultural intersection with the natural environment, something we often don’t think of when visiting big cities. Definitely check out this tour for the important perspectives and insights shared by the Aboriginal guides, Australia’s original inhabitants.

Tours start at 69 AUD.

8. Aboriginal Harbour Heritage Tour

Offered by the Botanic Gardens of Sydney, on this tour, you get to wander the harbor area with an Aboriginal guide who shares the history and culture of the area from the Aboriginal perspective. The one-hour walk focuses not only on the past but also on the regional flora. You’ll learn what specific flowers, plants, herbs, and trees mean to the Gadigal people and how they traditionally used them for various purposes. I highly recommend it. It adds a lot of perspective to the city.

Tours start at 30 AUD.

Sydney has a ton of walking tours available that can help you save money, see the sights, and introduce you to everything this incredible metropolis has to offer. Whether it’s a food-related stroll or an Aboriginal-led outing or a history-laden bicycle tour, you’ll leave Sydney with a much deeper appreciation for the place than when you arrived.
