Has anyone done the VJV birdwatching tour recently? Wondering how strenuous the walking is -- we're in our 60s but reasonably fit, just a bit concerned in case everyone else on the tour is a superfit thirtysomething!

Also, how scary are the Arenal hanging bridges for a person who doesn't like heights?

More than 75 long-haul tours feature in the first of four new brochures to be issued by Jules Verne for 2025-26.

It is the first time that the small group escorted tour operator’s   worldwide brochure does not feature any European destinations.

Instead the company is to publish dedicated brochures covering its European, cruise and solo traveller tours.

Long-haul destinations covering Asia, Africa, Middle East and the Americas include Nepal to Namibia, Costa Rica to Cambodia and Tanzania to Turkmenistan.

Sample prices start at £1,925 per person for eight nights in Vietnam and Cambodia including Vietnam Airlines flights, transfers, six nights hotel accommodation, six breakfasts, one dinner and services of local guides with departures in January, February, March and November 2025.

Jules Verne launches dedicated long-haul brochure for 2025-26

Jules Verne has launched a standalone long-haul brochure for 2025-26 with more than 75 tours available to book.

This is the first time the small group escorted tour operator’s worldwide brochure hasn’t featured European destinations, as it plans to release a further three dedicated brochures for Europe, cruise and solo tours.

Destinations in the ‘Worldwide Collection’ range from Nepal to Namibia, Costa Rica to Cambodia and Tanzania to Turkmenistan.

Jules Verne Managing Director Debbie O’Neill said: “Supported by over 45 years of knowledge and experience, the new Worldwide Collection brochure showcases our ongoing commitment to providing travellers with extraordinary adventures and pioneering journeys – this has, and always will be, at the very heart of everything we do.

Highlights from the brochure include an eight-night Vietnam and Cambodia tour with prices from £1,925 per person.
