Hawkwind formed back in 1969 and Stories From Time and Space is their 36th studio album. But on stage is where the band excels. Past shows have been spectacular affairs with dancers, stilt-walkers, lazers, psychedelic lighting and projections. The Rolling Stones have announced they are going back on the road with a brand-new tour performing in 16 cities across the U.S. and Canada, stopping in Santa Clara, CA on July 17, 2024 at Levi’s® Stadium. Fans can expect to experience Mick, Keith and Ronnie play their most popular hits ranging from “Start Me Up,” “Gimme Shelter,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “Satisfaction” and more, as well as fan favorite deep cuts and music from their new album HACKNEY DIAMONDS . Entertainment | hillary rodham clinton brings new book tour to bay area this fall, former first lady to appear at davies symphony hall.

The former First Lady — who also served as senator from New York and Secretary of State — is set to appear Oct. 7 at Davies Symphony Hall.

The appearance is part of a tour in support of her new book, “Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love, and Liberty,” which is set to be released by Simon & Schuster on Sept. 17.

“I can’t wait to hit the road and talk about ‘Something Lost, Something Gained’ with you in person. I hope you can join me for wide-ranging conversations that go behind the scenes and include never-before told stories,” Clinton says in a news release. “We’ll discuss the state of our politics and creating the future we want for our children and grandchildren and, most of all, have some fun while we’re at it!”

Tickets to Clinton’s San Francisco appearance go on sale on July 12, broadwaysf.com . People can also register for a presale at www.HillaryClintonLive.com .

“At each event, Secretary Clinton and a moderator will take the audience on a journey of unvarnished exchanges on politics, democracy, the threats we face, as well as friendship, aging, marriage, and how we can all work together to shape a future to be proud of,” according to a news release.

You won’t need to travel to “The Dark Side of the Moon” to see David Gilmour live in 2024.

It won’t hurt if you’re in New York or Los Angeles, though.

The long-time Pink Floyd member and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has ten concerts lined up this fall in just three cities as part of his ‘Luck and Strange Tour’ in support of his upcoming album with the same name.

A whopping five (!) of those ten Gilmour gigs will be in New York City when he takes on a short residency at Madison Square Garden from Nov. 4-10.

At all shows, fans can expect the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer to deliver cuts from the new record as well as more obscure Pink Floyd tracks that might not normally make the set list.

“Yeah, that might be better represented,” he told Uncut Magazine, according to Jambands.com . “I mean, at least one from the 60s. The one we’ve done in the past is ‘Astronomy’ [“Astronomy Domine,” track one from 1967 debut ‘The Piper at the Gates of Dawn’]. That’s always entertaining and fun and gets people off to a happy start. There’s songs from the ‘[A] Momentary Lapse of Reason’ and ‘The Division Bell’ albums. I mean, I think ‘High Hopes’ is as good as anything we ever did at any time.”

Prior to the record’s release, he dropped three singles; the gentle, rockin’ “The Piper’s Call,” the foreboding, haunting “Zero Hour” with Michael Berkeley and Neil Tennant and the introspective ballad “Between Two Points” featuring his daughter Romany Gilmour on vocals.

In regards to this troupe, Gilmour said he mixed things up because “it was all too robotic, and some people would have been better off in a Pink Floyd tribute band,” and wanted to “get people who are genuinely creative and give them a little more space.”

The Rolling Stones on Tuesday announced an AARP-sponsored stadium tour of North America next year to promote "Hackney Diamonds," their first album of original material in 18 years, that will end in Santa Clara.

Starting on April 28 in Houston and concluding in Santa Clara, California, on Wednesday, July 17, the Stones will make their way across the U.S. and Canada.

The tour hits 16 major cities, including New Orleans, Las Vegas, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles and Vancouver, British Columbia.

The fact that the promotional materials for the tour have the AARP sponsorship prominently featured was not lost on fans, many of whom made note (and jokes) about it on social media. However, it also should be mentioned that technically, the principle members of the band have been eligible for AARP benefits since they turned 50 in the 1990s.

The last laugh could be had by AARP members, who will actually have a chance to buy tickets early according to social media posts by the organization.

 Fans can expect to experience the Stones' most popular hits as well as new tracks from "Hackney Diamonds," the band's "best new work in decades," as The Associated Press' Jocelyn Noveck wrote in her review of the album. She argues the 12-song collection is "tight, focused, full of heart and swagger."

The Stones last performed across the U.S. in 2021 for their No Filter tour, marking the first time the band had toured without drummer Charlie Watts since 1963. Watts, the self-effacing and unshakeable Rolling Stones drummer who helped anchor one of rock's greatest rhythm sections, died in August 2021. He was 80.

Tickets for the dates including the Levi's Stadium concert will go on sale Friday, December 1st via  Ticketmaster . A number of pre-sales will be available ahead of that date, including  a Ticketmaster pre-sale  for the Santa Clara show scheduled for Thursday, November 30th with the pre-sale code BACKSTAGE. There are also artist pre-sale opportunities available through  the Rolling Stones' website .

The Wood Brothers have announced their final tour dates of 2024. The Grammy Award-nominated trio will play 17 shows this Fall with the first leg beginning November 13 at The Ramkat in Winston-Salem followed by stops in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. Highlights along the way include The Wood Brothers’ debut performance at the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, MD on November 16, one night only in Canada for a performance at The Concert Hall in Toronto on November 20 and wrapping the month at the Taft Theatre in Detroit on November 23. The second leg kicks off at The Eastern in Atlanta, GA on December 5 with special guest Katie Pruitt followed by a two night stand at The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC on November 6-7. The tour continues south with the band returning to the legendary New Orleans’ music venue Tipitina’s on December 11 before concluding the year with three shows in Texas. It has worked so well that the band will continue the concept over the course of their Fall tour. With a repertoire stretching across eight studio albums, including their latest full-length release Heart Is The Hero and several covers ranging from the gospel standard “Up Above My Head” to the Southern traditional “Liza Jane” to The Band’s “Ophelia” and Jimmy Reed’s “Big Boss Man,” there is no shortage of material fans want to hear. "Last year we focused heavily on our new album, Heart Is The Hero, playing the record close to its entirety at each show,” explains Oliver Wood. “So we wanted to do something a little different for this tour and switch up the sets night to night. We figured what better way than asking our amazing fans who’ve been so loyal and wonderful to us all these years what they want to hear. It’s been really fun to get their input and dig into some deeper cuts that we rarely, if ever, dusted off. It’s been so great to collaborate with our audience like this that we’ve decided to keep it going throughout the remainder of the year." The Wood Brothers are currently between legs of one of their biggest summer tours yet, including dates with Little Feat earlier in June, festival appearances at Borderland Festival, Vancouver Folk Festival, Targhee Bluegrass Festival, Rocky Mountains Folks Festival and Blissfest Folk & Roots Festival, as well as a run of European shows in August. In addition, Oliver Wood has just released his second solo album, Fat Cat Silhouette. The Wood Brothers plan to return to the studio in October to begin work on their ninth album with tentative plans to release in Summer 2025. "It’s a really fun time for The Wood Brothers, especially to have our fans basically write our set lists for us,” concludes Chris Wood. "Meanwhile, behind the scenes, we’re putting the finishing touches on a collection of brand new songs so we can record our next record later this year.”
