Open Tour Paris

The Open Tour Paris gives you access to a whole network of tourist buses running different routes to link all the main Parisian tourist sites with a single ticket, unlimitedly for one or more days depending on the pass chosen. The frequency of service (every 15 minutes from April to October and every 20 minutes from November to March) ensures that you have minimal waiting time and can stop off at your own pace, without having to keep to a set schedule.

Nearly 40 stops are scattered throughout the city along 4 routes :

  • The blue line is certainly the most complete tourist circuit to admire the main Parisian monuments: Les Invalides, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, the Palais Garnier, the Luxor Obelisk, the Arc de Triomphe or the Trocadero, it is probably one of the most popular lines.
  • The green line invites you to cross the Seine to discover the left bank of Paris, from the Latin Quarter and the Jardin du Luxembourg to the Montparnasse Tower via the Invalides
  • The yellow line invites you to discover the Saint-Germain des Prés district and the Place de la Bastille
  • The red line , to the north of the city, takes you to the Opéra Garnier, the department stores, the Moulin Rouge, Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur, the Place de la République and many places of interest.

The double-decker panoramic bus or open top bus tours allow you to travel around the city in comfort while enjoying the urban panorama and an exceptional view of Paris as you travel. The Hop on Hop off concept allows you to visit Paris at your own pace and is ideal for short stays to make the most of the attractions offered by the French capital. The individual audio guides available on board in ten different languages will enable you to learn more about the monuments. Tales and Parisian legends are even available for the youngest passengers, who will discover Paris in a playful way.

With Paris City Vision, you can even book your pass for the tourist buses and the Batobus with unlimited access in one go . Some offers also allow you to combine your Open Tour Paris pass with a museum pass to access more than 60 museums and monuments in Paris. Who hasn't dreamed of visiting the Louvre Museum during a tour of the heart of Paris? Discover the capital in a different way, avoid long metro journeys and swap the boat cruise on the Seine for a bus tour through the streets of the City of Light.

Big Bus in Hop on Hop Off

Board the red Hop on Hop off coaches of the Big Bus tour company and set off to discover the City of Light through two tours:

  • The red tour (classic) passes close to the most beautiful monuments of the capital, from the Île de la Cité to the Champs-Elysées, via the Champ de Mars or the Louvre Museum.
  • The blue tour invites you to discover the north of the city and passes through the tourist areas of Montmartre and Pigalle, in front of the Moulin Rouge.

Review: The Big Bus Tour in New York City

I absolutely loved the Big Bus Tour in New York City. It’s the best way to go sightseeing in an open-top, hop-on hop-off, top-rated tour and explore the best New York attractions !

If this is your first-time visiting New York and you want to see all the top landmarks, this double-decker tour bus will take you there.

The Big Bus Tour in New York

You may be wondering if a hop-on hop-off bus is worth it. Absolutely, yes!

If you consider the time and money spent on transportation costs, waiting for buses, navigating the subway (which can be confusing for visitors), and getting from one point of interest to another, it is worth every dollar!

I had a great visit to New York City on Big Bus Tour. My goal was to show the city to some friends from Italy who were visiting the US for the first time.

Since we only had about two days to spend together, the hop-on hop-off was undoubtedly the best decision.

From our experience, we’ll answer commonly asked questions about the Hop-on Hop-off bus while visiting New York City.

Google Reviews

Why take the big bus tour in new york.

While seeing New York from the open-top deck of the double-decker bus, the city unfolded block by block with panoramic views from every angle.

As we traveled through the streets, the sights were unobstructed and new visual backdrops were revealed.

The towering skyscrapers and colorful billboards filled the air with excitement and as the cityscape continued to change, it gave a grand feeling to the experience.

I especially enjoyed being able to relax from the upper deck of the bus while taking in the energy of city scenes.

Because I also live in a large city, the rhythm felt familiar from the elevated vantage point .

Car horns were honking, crowds traversed through the streets and there was an endless hum of activity.

Best of all, the tour gave me the chance to interact with other travelers who were seeing New York while waiting for the tour to began.

We struck up conversations and exchanged stories, insights, and recommendations during our stay in New York.

How Much is the Big Bus Tour in New York

The regular price of an adult and child ticket is $60.00 and $50.00, respectively. However, you can use the link below for discounted fares.

How Long is the Big Bus Tour in New York

The round-trip New York City Big Bus Tour takes about two hours from start to finish.

The bus is the perfect solution for visitors worldwide because they offer pre-recorded audio narratives and translations in five languages — French, German, Spanish, Italian, and English.

Are There Toilets on the Big Bus

No. Unlike charter buses, you won’t travel long between stops. So the best thing to do is exit at a stop, find a public restroom, see an attraction, if desired, and then catch the next bus.

If you are not sure where to find one, ask a Big Bus guide on the street. The driver may also have some suggestions.

Charter buses come equipped with a bathroom because travel is expected to be for a much longer period.

How Does the Big Bus Tour Work in New York City

The tour offers three options for purchase — 1-day, 2-day, and 3-day.

When you decide the number of days of your tour and purchase your ticket, the clock starts when your ticket is scanned while boarding the bus for the first time.

The ticket is good for 24, 48, or 72 hours. So, if you have a 1-day ticket and board the bus at 11:00 AM on Monday, it can still be used until 11:00 AM on Tuesday.

We found a ton of touring options for sightseeing in New York.

Aside from the extended period, the 2 and 3-day tickets also offer discounted bike rentals.

The buses run every 20 minutes on average. However, the first stop at the M&M store can be a long wait during peak season.

You can exit or board at any of the designated stops as much as you want.

The only exclusion is the one-loop tour Night Tour which is a panoramic non-stop tour.

Where to Catch the Big Bus Tour in New York City

During the tour, the buses only stop at designated stops.

Your ticket is good for as long as the buses operate during the day and it may be used on both the red and blue routes.

When you board, make sure you get a hop-on hop-off New York bus route map!

Big Bus NYC Red Route

The red route sightseeing tour covers lower Manhattan and you’ll see many landmarks like St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Wall Street, the Chrysler Building, and General Grant’s Tomb.

You can catch a tour at any one of the following bus stops and you can get your tickets in advance of boarding.

1 – M&M’s World – 7th Ave & W 48th St (Outside M&M World & Majestic Deli)

2 – Times Square East – W 42nd St & Broadway (at Knickerbocker Hotel)

3 – Empire State Building / Korea Town – 5th Ave & W 32nd St (at CVS Pharmacy)

4 – Flatiron District – 5th Ave & W 23rd St (at Eisenberg’s Sandwich Shop)

5 – SoHo – Broadway and Spring Street (at Nike Store)

6 – Chinatown / Little Italy – 100 Lafayette Street (near the corner at Walker St)

7 – Brooklyn Bridge – Park Row & Beekman St (across from 33 Park Row)

8 – Wall Street / Charging Bull – Broadway & Wall St (Southwest corner near Rector St)

9 – Statue of Liberty / Battery Park – State St and Bridge St (at Subway Entrance)

10 – Circle Line Sightseeing – 12th Ave & 40th St (opposite Pier 81)

11 – Times Square North – 7th Ave & W 50th St (at Majestic Deli)

Big Bus NYC Blue Route

The blue route covers upper Manhattan, and half of the ride is mostly views of Central Park. You can switch to the blue route at red stop #2.

We recommend changing routes at stop #11 (the Majestic Deli) where you can take a break and have a nice lunch.

12 – The Metropolitan Museum of Art – 5th Ave & E 83rd St (near 83rd St)

13 – Central Park Zoo – 5th Ave & E 66th St (opposite 845 5th Ave)

14 – Columbus Circle – Central Park & Columbus Circle (SW corner of Central Park)

Tips and Things to Know Before You Go

The bus has two levels, the upper level offers panoramic views of the city but be careful of overhanging traffic lights and trees. Don’t stand while the bus is in motion.

  • After you find a seat, check the audio to confirm it is working.
  • Snacks are allowed. Bring a frozen bottle of water and protein bites to keep you energized.
  • When on the upper deck, cover up with sunscreen to protect your skin on hot sunny days.
  • If you are a family of 3 or more, take seats across from one another so you’ll have views and photos from both sides of the bus.

Tourists were lined up at stop #1 at least an hour before departure and the line extended the entire block and rounded the corner.

We decided to see other points of interest and returned around 11:00 AM.

The wait to board the bus was about 20 minutes. It was a relaxing ride and there we saw so much!

By the time we reached stop #9, we were pumped and ready to exit the bus so that we could explore the city! And you probably will be too.

Here’s the secret sauce that really made the experience memorable. Exit at stop #9 and take a FREE ferry to Staten Island.

To see the Statue of Liberty, stand on the left side of the boat. When returning, stand on the right side.

Final Thoughts About the Big Bus Tour in New York City

Overall, the tour was a pleasant way to see New York city and when you are on the upper deck, you hardly notice the traffic.

Some other advantages of seeing the city by bus include:

  • Avoiding parking hassles. I mean, who actually drives in New York?!
  • Photo opportunities. With the open-top or large windows, you have excellent photo opportunities as you pass by iconic landmarks and cityscapes.
  • Comprehensive sightseeing of major landmarks and attractions within two hours.
  • You can get local recommendations from the guides who operate the bus.

I usually opt for a hop-on hop-off bus when I am short on time or to get my bearings in the city before deciding what to do.

Either way, when you take the tour bus, it doesn’t appear impossible to take a bite out of the Big Apple.

Happy Travels!

How to watch the US Open 2024 online from anywhere using a VPN

If you can't view the tournament locally, you may need a different way to watch -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.

With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the tournament. So if your internet provider or mobile carrier has stuck you with an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a blackout zone, a VPN can correct that problem by giving you an IP address in your correct, nonblackout area. Most VPNs, like our  Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN , make it really easy to do this.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.

Quick tips for streaming the US Open 2024 using a VPN

  • With four variables at play -- your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN -- your experience and success when streaming may vary.
  • If you don't see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the "search for city or country" option.
  • If you're having trouble getting the tournament after you've turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs -- like Roku -- don't have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you'll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you're using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
  • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network's sports app, you'll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
  • And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you're using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend  Brave .

Who is matthieu pavon 5 things to know about the frenchman surging up the u.s. open leaderboard, share this article.

If you haven’t been watching a ton of golf outside of the major tournaments this year, you may be wondering a bit about the top of the leaderboard at this weekend’s U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2.

French native Matthieu Pavon has remained in contention for the title all week and finally grabbed the outright lead on Saturday. So who is the 31-year-old golfer?

Let’s dive into his background as he looks to win his first major title.

1. Pavon is currently ranked No. 24 in the world

That’s likely to change after this week. Pavon entered the U.S. Open with just one victory on the PGA Tour since turning pro in 2013. That came earlier this year at Torrey Pines in the Farmer’s Insurance Open . He followed that up with a third place finish at Pebble Beach in the following week’s AT&T Pro-Am.

Yet Pavon hasn’t had a ton of success in the majors until this week. His previous best at the U.S. Open is a T25 in 2018 and his best finish at any major is a T12 at the Masters this year. Pavon missed the cut in his other three major tries.

2. He’s a native of Toulouse, France

Pavon would become the first Frenchman to win the U.S. Open — which is saying something since this is the 124th edition of the tournament.

But that would be nothing new since his win at the Farmers Insurance Open made him the first French winner on the PGA Tour since 1907.

3. He’s the son of pro soccer star and manager Michel Pavon

Pavon’s father Michel actually played on the U21 French national team during nearly a decade with Toulouse FC, scoring 42 goals in 388 career appearances as a midfielder from 1986-2001.

Since retiring, Michel has managed for Bordeaux, Blanquefort and Libourne.

I didn’t realise that Matthieu Pavon’s dad was a very successful footballer until he referenced it yesterday. Scored against Man United in the Champions League back in 2000 no less. The keeper’s had a bit of a shocker here, but nice strike from Dad Pavon all the same. pic.twitter.com/Pz9nCRqhrc — Sam Harrop (@sam_golf) January 28, 2024

4. Pavon earned his 2024 PGA Tour card by finishing 15th in the 2023 DP World Tour

And if he keeps up this level of play he won’t have to worry about losing his Tour status anytime soon.

5. Pavon’s favorite quote is tattooed on his hand

Pavon has plenty of tattoos but one on his hand is especially meaningful , as he explained earlier this year:

"The saliva that flows now will become the tears of joy tomorrow." A closer look @MatthieuPavon 's inspiring tattoo. The Frenchman looks to secure his first TOUR victory in his rookie season. pic.twitter.com/wQ91V6FJdi — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) January 27, 2024

Here’s a recent AP golf story:

PINEHURST, N.C. (AP) — Matthieu Pavon’s confidence had taken a hit in recent weeks after two straight missed cuts, a hiccup in what had otherwise been a strong first season on the PGA Tour.

“To be fair,” the 31-year-old Frenchman said, “it wasn’t the highest so far this season.”

Some extra work on his putting before the U.S. Open changed that trajectory, and on Thursday he became the first player to have multiple eagles (two) in an Open round at the Pinehurst No. 2 course that also hosted in 1999, 2005 and 2014. He closed with a 3-under 67, sending him to the clubhouse just two shots behind leader Patrick Cantlay from the morning half of the draw.

It was another highlight in what has been an eventful past year, which included becoming the first French player since World War II to win a PGA Tour event when he closed with a birdie to win at Torrey Pines in January . He missed the cut at last month’s PGA Championship and at last week’s Memorial.

“You know you’re going to make mistakes, but it’s all about avoiding big numbers,” Pavon said. “And obviously I made my four best swings of the day on the par 5s and dropped two putts, so it gave me a nice two eagles. It gave me a little bit of freedom today.”

He played like he felt it, too, on the Donald Ross-designed course known for its domed greens and sandy areas featuring native plants instead of traditional rough.

The highlights came in the first 10 holes, starting when he hit a 4-iron approach on the 582-yard fifth to set up an 18-foot putt for the first eagle. After a birdie on No. 8, he struck again at the 619-yard 10th, using a 3-wood on his second shot to set up a 27-foot putt. Pavon sent the ball smoothly rolling toward the cup before it caught the left lip and dropped.

At that point, Pavon was 5-under and in sole possession of the lead while marking the seventh time a player had two eagles in a U.S. Open round since 2000. Not bad for a guy who had only made one cut in three previous appearances.

“It’s funny because (eagles) pretty much come when you don’t really expect them,” Pavon said.

Then again, it sounds like he had done the homework to be ready when the opportunity came.

Pavon said putting coach Jon Karlsen came to see him in Florida about two weeks ago for pre-Open work, tweaking their approach to prepare for greens Pavon described as “faster, slopier, grainier — nothing that I really experienced in Europe.”

“It’s not really technical,” Pavon said of the adjustments. “It’s more about seeing breaks because when it’s slower, when you have less break, the ball doesn’t move as much as here. Here, it’s really steep, it’s fast, it’s grainy so the ball moves quite a lot.”

Consider it part of the learning curve for a player who has made some big leaps in the past year. That included claiming his first European tour victory at the Spanish Open in October , and then closing with four straight birdies at the DP World Championship in Dubai — the last being enough to earn his PGA Tour card.

Now, he has a chance this weekend to add to a short U.S. resume, one headlined by that January win as well as finishing tied for 12th at the Masters.

“My game this year is quite good overall,” Pavon said. “I had a few weeks down, but it happens in a year. Yeah, you have stuff that you have to adjust for the PGA Tour. I wasn’t like, let’s say, fully prepared for this. Short game needs to be really tighter here. This is where I can see the biggest difference.”

2024 U.S. Open TV schedule, coverage, where to watch online, live stream, channel, golf tee times

How to watch every memorable moment of the 2024 u.s. open on tv or streaming live online.

us-open-pinehurst-golf-ball-tee-g.png

The third major championship of the 2024 golf season has reached the final 18 holes with a pair of Americans having already claimed the first two majors of the year and a third in pole position to claim the next one. The USGA has loaded up its premier event with nearly all the best golfers in the world as 2024 U.S. Open contenders are taking on Pinehurst No. 2 for the first time in a decade, and it all comes to a head Sunday.

Follow the action Sunday with  live U.S. Open leaderboard coverage  right here on CBS Sports, and check out the  updating leaderboard for scores, statistics and more.

It is 2020 national champion Bryson DeChambeau out in front holding a three-shot lead after 54 holes. A second-place finisher at last month's PGA Championship who posted a T6 at the Masters to open the major season, DeChambeau is looking to capitalize on his immense play with the second major trophy of his career.

Closest to DeChambeau on the leaderboard are Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay and Mattieu Pavon, all sitting at 4 under. McIlroy is seeking to end a decade-long major drought, while both Cantlay and Pavon are aiming to break through with their first major championships.

Scottie Scheffler entered as the U.S. Open favorite having already won the Masters and Players Championship this season (and he may well have taken the PGA, too, if not for a series of unfortunate events). Instead of contending at Pinehurst, though, he barely made the cut and began reassessing his game  after 36 holes of the U.S. Open. It was a similar but worse story for Tiger Woods , who lamented missing the cut believing that he played better than his score indicated over the first two days of the tournament.

On the line are not only the U.S. Open Championship Trophy and the third major title of the year but a record  $4.3 million winner's share as part of the U.S. Open's record $21.5 million purse . In other words, all the pressure is on across the final 18 holes.

While attending the U.S. Open can be a ton of fun, simply being able to watch golf on the game's grandest stage is an incredible treat each year. We here at CBS Sports are thrilled to bring you wall-to-wall coverage of the U.S. Open all week long.

Enough talking about it. Here's how you can watch as much U.S. Open as possible on Sunday.
