Guard tour system

deister’s guard patrol system provides you with the data and reports needed to ensure your staff are visiting specific locations as part of their duties. You simply fix checkpoints in areas that require attending, this can be inside and outdoors. Staff then carry a data collector on their round which they present to each checkpoint to record their presence. At the end of the round, the data including the time, date and checkpoints visited can be downloaded into the reporting software.

The history of our company

deister electornic was found in Barsinghausen near Hannover. Straight after finishing his diploma in IT, Anatoli Stobbe founded the company and started the adventure. 

The first steps

After a few years of selling R&D services to other company, deister starts selling its first own solution: an electronic Guard Tour system, which rapidly became the market leader and the number 1 solution for most guarding companies.

More growth, more capacity

After several successful years the team has grown a lot. A new, bigger building is needed that offers more space, also for the future. deister stays is in Barsinghausen, but moves to a new address: Steinradweg 3.

Worldwide expansion

The first international subsidiaries are founded in USA, Canada, UK and France. These new offices created the foundation for the international sales and service infrastructure. In the coming years the international business will grow even more.

Innovation leads the way into the future

deister electronic develops the first read/write RFID transponder. This RFID chip cannot only be read, but new data can be written onto it – the basis for today’s RFID technology.

RFID becomes the core technology

As a second pillar next to the guard tour system deister electronic starts to produce and sell RFID Access Control readers, which up until today is a core business for deister.

New room for new ideas

The existing office reached ist limits in capacity. The company moves to a new location, Hermann-Bahlsen-Strasse 11-13, where a new building was build that offers more space and room for the production, sales and R&D departments.

The product portfolio expands

RFID is finding more and more new applications and is increasingly arousing interest in a wide range of markets. Among other things, a chip for car immobilisers is developed for the automotive industry.

RFID in pigeon racing

RFID is also used in pigeon racing to identify the animals. We are the market leader in this segment.

RFID for vehicle identification

Long-range identification with RFID can identify transponders over a longer distance of several metres. In this way, vehicles in access control, products and pallets in logistics can be identified.

RFID gains reach

As a co-partner of Intel, deister electronic develops a reader chip for long-range identification, which is used in typical supply chain applications in retail and industrial automation.

Textile circuits

deister electronic invents the first textile transponder, that can be washed and can be integrated into clothing and other textile/flexible products such as floor mats or lifejackets.

From electronics to mechatronics

Introduction of the electronic key lockers "proxSafe", which can be used to manage door keys, car keys and other items.

Expansion to the far east

More subsidiaries are founded in Japan and Singapore to supply the local market demand. Especially because of the well-known Germany quality and innovative ideas many Asian customers decide to buy deister products.

Digital locks

Following the success of proxSafe, another mechatronic solution "doorLoxx", a digital locking system consisting of digital cylinders and locks, is launched.

Security gets connected

The different systems the portfolio are getting more and more integrated. The software Commander Connect starts to play a central and very important role, because it connects all systems – the start of Connected Systems..

The second generation

Nicolas Stobbe, the second generation in the family business, joins the company and focusses on the growth of the international business. Also mobile devices such as smartphones are further integrated into the portfolio and modern ways of controlling devices are in the focus.

Intelligent laundry dispensing

Smart laundry cabinets automate the dispensing and return of workwear. The transponders in the garments are so intelligent that each garment itself knows what it is and how it wants to be treated. With intelligent laundry cabinets, the dispensing and return of workwear is automated. 

Agile future

Agile ways of working and modern tools are introduced to keep up with the fast-paced world while maintaining high quality standards.

Expansion of Deister Electronics USA

Business in North America is growing and opens potential for more. A new building is acquired and offers significantly more space for the growing team, project support and logistics of goods. New product lines are introduced in the USA to expand the business.

New event space

For professional events with customers and to hold internal events, we have rebuilt one of the former logistics halls from scratch. State-of-the-art lighting technology, a 5 m wide LED wall, bold sound and powerful ventilation technology now enable modern, safe and professional events. At the same time, the event space serves as a permanent showroom where our customers can experience all products live.

Maintenance-free, thanks to RFID technology

Using the power of RFID technology, you can easily identify and manage important equipment and other high value items by attach an RFID transponder to any asset stored in the smart lockers. Since the asset ID is uniquely stored in the RFID chip, all removals and returns are automatically detected by the antenna installed in the locker and logged in the software for important audit trail information.

RFID chips do not require a battery and are completely maintenance free with an unlimited service life.

flexx – Scalable and modular key cabinets

flexx key cabinets are scalable, modular systems that can accommodate your current needs with the ability to easily scale at any time.

Choose a flexx key cabinet in the size and design of your choice – from 8 to 324 keyTag capacity. Its modular construction allows you to integrate the cabinets into your current wall design, and each cabinet features your choice of solid steel or glass door. Customize the keyTag spacing in the cabinet to accommodate keys of all sizes and shapes, including groups of keys (grouped by vehicle fleets, project, etc.) that may require more space.

True to its name, flexx cabinets make it easy to transition from a small to a larger system.

Flexible recharging and storage solutions

Just as its name implies, the Deister flexx portfolio of cabinets offers the flexibility of myriad different size cabinets to provide diverse storage options. Securely store holders for radio handsets or slots for keys – all storage options are individually adapted to suit the corresponding device.

You can safely store and manage different devices in the same cabinet and even integrate a battery charging station. A charge status display gives you the ability to issue only fully charged devices while others remain securely locked in the cabinet to be charged.

bloxx – Modular system for smart storage and asset management

The bloxx system is ideally suited for the administration and storage of car keys and vehicle documents. bloxx consists of modules and can be assembled as required. There are different modules available, e.g. 10 wide or 20 narrow drawers. As an option it is possible to fit each drawer with an RFID reader.

The bloxx system is operated via a 17-inch touch screen. In addition, other features such as cameras can be integrated to capture documents. bloxx provides the freedom to use a third-party PC and operating software.

Deister’s bloxx system is ideal for the smart storage of car keys and vehicle documents, as well as other important assets.

An extremely modular system, bloxx lets you build your ideal solution; for example, use 10 wide or 20 narrow drawers and add an optional RFID reader and even a camera to maximize asset control and management.

Unify security with powerful web-based software

Commander Connect is our intuitive web-based software platform where you can manage key management, smart storage, vehicle use, access control, and proof of visit systems. It can work as a standalone system connected directly to your proxSafe key cabinet or can be used in a virtual environment to support an enterprise solution.

Commander Connect’s SQL backend database combines with the durable and rugged cabinets to provide a reliable security solution you can count on.

dataLog systems allow better use of staff, improves efficiency, and provide accurate and fast audit information on work carried out. Most importantly they highlight any checks that were missed, so that appropriate action can be taken.

The main components to a dataLog proof-of-visit system are a handheld data collector, location checkpoints and management software. Checkpoints are fixed to locations to be visited, and the worker carries a robust handheld data collector which they use to read the checkpoint when it is visited. The checkpoints identification number and time of the visit is recorded by the data collector.

A rugged data collector for all day use

One of the many distinguishing features of the guardiX II data collector is that there are no buttons, switches or other external moving parts that could be prone to failure. Its clever design also means that there is no need for a hole for a sounder, instead the data collector vibrates when a checkpoint is read making it near silent in operation. An LED and vibration provide haptic feedback making it ideal for patrols or checks that need to be carried out in places such as in hospitals, prisons and hotels or in a noisy manufacturing environment where a sounder would not be heard by the user.

When a checkpoint is read its identification number along with the time and date are stored in the data collector for transmission and processing. The guardiX II is able to read up to 500,000 checkpoints from a pair of AA batteries thereby minimising downtime. In addition to reading our checkpoints the guardiX II collectors are also able to read other deister RFID transponders.

All deister electronic systems can share the data and information they gather using one common software platform – Commander Connect.

The guardiX II collector has environmental protection of IP67 and has an operational temperature range of -10 to 60 degrees. It is also available as a special ATEX version for hazardous environments.
