WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

" Just what I needed for my 1962 Thunderbird! Before installing this, I would get leg cramps holding the throttle constant while cruising, I swear the throttle return spring was originally a bed spring. Installed this beauty before taking my trip down RT 66 in 2015. Finally, 7500 miles in comfort! "

Jim H. - United States

250-1223 Universal Electronic Cruise Control

" This is great. It installed pretty easily. I put it on my F-350 so I can park easier since my front camera is obstructed my LED lights and a light bar. I easily installed the sensors in the air dam below the bumper. "

Schawn D. - United States

Forward-Facing Parking Sensor System

" This installed very easily. I highly recommend it for anyone who needs this feature to make their car seat more comfortable. But this does require a high level of car handy skills, as you need to significantly disassemble a car seat. "

Sam G. - United States

Universal Lumbar Support System

" I installed this in a 2018 RZR RS one. I ride in the winter and have only a windshield. I installed the seat heater and it keeps me very warm. "

Ron B. - United States

Universal Seat Heater

" Once installed, the Jeep is more noticeable as one would expect. This is a very good safety upgrade--I was surprised DRL's were not standard on Wranglers. I have had compliments from other Wrangler owners. "

GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating) – is the maximum permissible weight, including cargo, fluids, optional equipment and accessories that can be safely supported by a combination of all axles.

UVW (Unloaded Vehicle Weight)* - is the typical weight of the unit as manufactured at the factory. It includes all weight at the unit’s axle(s) and tongue or pin and LP Gas. The UVW does not include cargo, fresh potable water, additional optional equipment or dealer installed accessories. *Estimated Average based on standard build optional equipment.

CCC (Cargo Carrying Capacity)** - is the amount of weight available for fresh potable water, cargo, additional optional equipment and accessories. CCC is equal to GVWR minus UVW. Available CCC should accommodate fresh potable water (8.3 lbs per gallon). Before filling the fresh water tank, empty the black and gray tanks to provide for more cargo capacity. **Estimated Average based on standard build optional equipment.

Each Forest River RV is weighed at the manufacturing facility prior to shipping. A label identifying the unloaded vehicle weight of the actual unit and the cargo carrying capacity is applied to every Forest River RV prior to leaving our facilities.

Cruise control light flashing???

cruise control lite

  • Add to quote

Hey guys!! I am a new owner of an Outback 06 and lately, I am having trouble with my cruise control... I had it on when I was driving on a dry road (60mph) and all of a sudden the cruise control stopped working and the cruise light and the check engine came on.... And the cruise light started to flash. It's been doing that since it last occurred... Did it happen to any of you guys?? Is it a sensor or a breaker?? Thanks for the help!!

You need to stop by an autoparts store and borrow their code scanner. The code may be preventing cruise from coming on.

cruise control lite

So if there was a misfire and the plugs and wires need to be changed as these were the codes, this would cause the check engine light and cruise to blink. Sorry just bought a Subaru 08 legacy 2.5i and has been sitting for almost 2 yrs

cruise control lite

The cruise will blink telling you it's disabled when the car senses a problem. Generally you will have a CEL along with it but, if it's a pending code, I've heard that sometimes only the Cruise will blink. Did you goof around and do burnouts in the dirt ? I know it can happen from excessive spinning of the wheels [the TCU will get confused and set a pending code, also the cruise will blink] Other issues could be, Knock sensor code from some bad gas, "gas cap code" [forget the number] from a loose gas cap and others but, lets start there.

actually i was going in straight line, driving very normal, dry asphalt on a sunny day.... But it stopped blinking yesterday night... Its the second time it does that and i started to think is the cable to the cruise control unit...Gas is fine (87 grade) and the cap was on properly... any other ideas....

cruise control lite

You need to get the CEL code read (PXXX) and bring that code back here. The CEL is preventing your Cruise from working and the Cruise light is flashing to tell you it can't work. You may be able to disconnect your positive battery cable for 10 mins and step on the brake pedal for a minute to reset the ECU. That may put the CEL out and allow your cruise to work. If the CEL comes back on after you do that, you will need to get the code read.

Alright, Thanks guys for the help!!! next time it happens i'll try your trick!! But for some reasons it works fine now...

cruise control lite

JF, our '05 set-off the CEL and blinking cruise light twice following a loss of power which brought the vehicle down to 10 - 15 kph. Both times it coded a faulty accelerator assembly. This (ghostwalking) car is now on its 3rd accelerator assembly. Hopefully your warning light faults are relatively harmless.

cruise control lite

the exact same thing happened to me last night at 2 a.m.. i was driving on the interstate, came upon a horrible storm, then stopped for a while. the rain let up a bit, but the check engine light came on and the cruise flashed. i had to keep on driving to get home, and it's the same this morning. i checked the gas cap and will try the battery disconnect/brake peddle trick. thanks miker104! so, i could take my car to advance auto parts and they scan for free? they do that?

cruise control lite

I took delivery of a 2004 3.0 Outback on the 27th May, and the lights came on less than 100 yards from the dealer...they have had the car ever since, finally traced it to a faulty TCU and a whole host of other faults...so they contacted me yesterday, they are cancelling the deal and giving me an 06 2.5 OB A/T at cost price...still with maintenance contract...only 46000 km on the clock, so it looks as if I got a sweet deal! ;D @marcc - Don't you have a dealer you can take it to? They usually check and re-set the thing in about 10 minutes...99% of the time it is your cat that is at fault.

You got a great deal! The 3.0 is not as good as the 2.5 in my opinion. The dealers usually charge for reading codes, unless you tell them to also make the repairs. I prefer to knowing what the code is before entering a dealership, just in case I can do the repair myself.

Most autoparts store will either lend you the use of a scanner to use in the parking lot. Pepboys and Autozone will have a store clerk read the codes for you, but they will not clear any. Yes, CEL = check engine light.

@paulO, i bought it form a dealer, but it's an '05, so out of warranty. "You may be able to disconnect your positive battery cable for 10 mins and step on the brake pedal for a minute to reset the ECU. i've disconnected the + cable, do i press the brake during or after the cable is off? or does it matter? side note: just before the rainstorm, i noticed the parking lights didn't come on nor the fog lights. is this related? last week, i had to replace the low beam bulb (i did both even tho one was out). did mess something up doing that?

Marc, Pushing on the brake pedal with the battery disconnected ensures a complete ground to the electronics. But, now you don't know what code was stored and what the error might have been. Plus, you ruined the computer's drive cycle and if you are in a state that checks your car for emmision controls, it will fail the check until the drive cycle is complete. As for the lights, you probably did not home the plugs enough.

i pressed the brake after re-connecting the battery. the engine turned over for a few seconds and started up. no check light or flashing cruise light! klausc, good point on not knowing the code. i live in south carolina, and they don't check for emissions here (we do lots of other crazy stuff, however) my fog lights now work, don't know why. (it was operator error on the parking lights i think: last night i flipped the switch on the steering column, but didn't move the light switch on the stalk to the correct setting). thanks for everyone's help.

Thanks klausc - the 3.0 litre was certainly very impressive to drive, but I am already totally sold on the 2.5 so will not miss all that extra power at all, plus there's the added bonus of much better fuel consumption!

cruise control lite

reviving the thread... I'd like to report that I had my Cruise control light blinking (but NOT the CEL) while going off road on a very messy snowy road (12 inch deep). I was in second gear and pushing a bit to keep my momentum. RPM was around 3000-5000 and turbo spooling. Everything was running fine though. My guess is AWD or CC started to get confused with all the wheels spinning in an unusual way. What do you guys think?

cruise control lite

My guess is AWD or CC started to get confused with all the wheels spinning in an unusual way. Click to expand...

interesting..I forgot to mention that after that, I turned off the car, went on our planned hike in the deep snow with my wife, came back, turned on the car and all was well. Nothing flashing, nothing weird. First time ever this happened but I have to say I was gunning it through the snow packed road to keep my momentum (gunning but overall speed limit was just maybe 20 mph cause it was REAL bumpy and only drove like that for like 30 seconds). So I know for sure it was spinning like crazy. But again, NO CEL light.

cruise control lite

Guys, I wonder what would cause the blinking cruise control light to go off and on and also CEL turn on. This morning driving home I was using the cruise control going on the highway at the speed limit which is 70. After 10 minutes of driving I noticed the lights blinking. I followed your instructions disconnected the positive cable for 10 minutes and pressed on the brakes for a minute. The blinking lights went away. Curious to know what caused the lights to blink. Totally weird. Thank you NRHTX

If your CEL turned on, then you had a code stored. You should have checked out that code before resetting the ECU. If it pops again, go to Autozone and get them to plug their code reader to your OBD2 port. Record the code and report back.

You guys rock. If it happens again I will go to AutoZone Thank you

You're welcome.

Man as I was backing out of my garage. My car was acting up. I pulled out of the garage and noticed that the engine was not performing normal. I turn around and the car turned off on me. Tomorrow at 0630am a tow truck will pickup my OB and straight to the dealer. I wonder if it has something to do with the catalyc converter. I am so happy I purchased extended warranty.

My check engine light just came on along with a flashing cruise control light, its done this before and both turned off after about a day, so I'm thinking this will just turn off too but I will go to autozone in the morning and have them get the code if its still on by then.

Hi Mark, This happened to me twice. Finally I took it to the dealer and they discovered that 1 of the cat converters was bad. I was so happy that I was still within warranty on my 2008 OB LL Bean Edition. It was my rear converter. The problem went away, its been 2 months

CEL and Cruise Control Flashing Hey everyone. I looked around for any topics about a CEL/Cruise Control Light flashing. It actually happened to me this afternoon. A friend of mine has an OBII scanner and I found out the code it is showing is for "catalytic efficiency below range". Would that have anything to do with why the CC light wod now be flashing? It all started at the same time.

CEL/CC FLASH..... Rough idle? I have also noticed that within the last 2-3 weeks my OB has started to idle very rough when I am stopped at a red light. It only idles rough when I am in drive. If I out it into park it smoothed out and runs fine. I'm assuming that too could be related back to the catalytic converter?

Whenever the check engine light (MIL) is on, the cruise control is automatically disabled. That's why the cruise control light is flashing -- to tell you that it won't work. Find out what the trouble code was rather than the description. It should be in the form of P#### ("P" followed by four numbers). Then do a search here for that code, or post it and others will help with it. If it's a P0420, there's lots of posts -- it's a very common code -- and there's a few good threads about it. For example, see: http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums...ce/49537-p0420-diag.html?highlight=P0420+Diag

Cruise control light blinking / code 0605

  • Add to quote

Just wanted to share this information in case anyone finds themselves in a similar situation. I have a 2014 nissan versa. A few weeks ago my cruise control light would randomly start blinking on and off rapidly while I was driving (and not even using the cruise control). No other issues noted, everything was running fine. I took it to the dealer who pulled a code 0605 which indicates the ECM needs replaced (a $1400 repair). I didn't think that sounded likely so I picked my car up and went to researching online. I found this website for infiniti cars which indicated it could be the cruise control brake safety switch. A youtube video, $25, and a part from ebay and we are back in business. I want to share the links but I guess since it's my first post, I can't. Thanks.

How to Set Up Your Lectric XP 2.0 (All Settings Explained)

cruise control lite

The Lectric XP 2.0 has many different customizable settings so that you can make the bike ride just the way you like it. But, these settings can be a bit confusing and hard to figure out. In this article, I will explain what each setting does and how you might want to set up your bike!

Using the controls and the display, you can adjust just about everything your Lectric XP 2.0 can do. Pressing and holding the + and – buttons will take you to the settings screen and from there you can adjust how your bike operates.

The owner’s manual is a little confusing about what all of these settings really do. I will try to explain them in a less confusing way and give you some suggestions on how to set up your Lectric XP 2.0.

Some of the settings are used to adjust how the screen displays information and some settings will dramatically affect how your bike will ride.

You can find the Lectric XP 2.0 right here!

So let’s split them up into 2 categories –

  • Parameter Functions – (non-ride affecting) such as brightness, km or miles, tire size, etc.
  • Ride Functions – (ride affecting) such as top speed, throttle adjustments, motor sensitivity, etc.

I will quickly go over the Parameter Functions and then we’ll go deeper into the Ride Functions.

Quickly Ride to a Section -

How to Set Up Your Parameter Functions

In order to set up any of the functions you first need to power on your ebike by pressing and holding the power button.

Once your ebike is powered on, then you will press and hold the + and – buttons together for about 2 seconds until the screen changes and shows “01P” or “02P” and so on. It doesn’t matter which number it is on, you just want to see the small “P” behind the number.

To switch between the different numbers, tap the power button and you will scroll through all the different display settings from “01P” to “21P”.

(Keep in mind if you let it sit for about 5 seconds it will convert back to your normal and display the speedometer again. Just hold the + and – buttons again for 2 seconds to get back into the settings screen.)

To adjust the individual setting you will use the + or – button.

Here’s a Quick Rundown of the Parameter Settings –

  • Display Brightness – 1 (dimmer) to 3 (brighter)
  • Distance Units – 0 for Kilometers  – 1 for Miles
  • Sleep Timer – Set to how many minutes you want the screen to stay on when you’re not riding
  • Tire Size – This is preset to 22, I find 24 to be more accurate
  • This will reset your odometer and I don’t recommend using it.

These settings are not critical and will not affect how your bike will ride, but it is nice to set them up correctly for yourself so you can easily tell what’s going on with your bike.

How to Set Up Your Ride Functions

These settings are the meat and potatoes of your new Lectric XP 2.0!

Here is a video I made, walking you through what each of these settings really does. You can play the video and follow along with the settings below!

–You can also scroll to the bottom for specific settings!–

This is the big one for lots of folks. This setting will set your pedal assist speed limit to either 20mph or 28mph.

In the manual, it says you can set the exact speed, but you can not. It also says that if you want your ebike to assist to 28mph then set this to 45, this is also wrong.

The bike comes with this setting preset to 32 (which means 32km or 19.9mph) but you can toggle this between 32 and 100. Now 100 will not let you go 100km per hour, that would be about 62mph!

Just think of these settings this way –

  • 32   = 20mph max assist
  • 100 = 28mph max assist

In order for this setting to actually come into effect you will need to adjust your “08P” setting to either 32 or 100, then press and hold the + and – buttons for 2 seconds until the screen goes back to the speedometer, THEN press and hold the power button to turn off your ebike.

Now you can turn your Lectric back on and it will assist to the speed you just set it to.

  • 0 = Throttle able to work while your bike is at a standstill
  • 1 = Throttle will only work when your bike is moving

This setting is also very important! I would recommend leaving this setting at “1”.

The issue with setting this to “0” is that you could twist your throttle and have your bike jump forward when you don’t want it to. With the little 20” wheels it is easy for your ebike to shoot out from under you and possibly take you down too.

Even with this set at “1”, you could still accidentally grab your throttle while you are just pushing your bike because the bike just needs to be moving forward for the throttle to work, it does not have to be pedaled forward!

This is a downside to this bike’s design, it should have had a cadence sensor on the cranks so that you would have to start pedaling for the throttle to work.

I would highly recommend if you have to push your Lectric XP 2.0 for any distance to first turn off the system and just push it with everything off.

This setting could come in very handy! This setting allows you to turn off the throttle completely!

  • If you just want pedal assist and NO throttle, set this to “0”.
  • If you want BOTH throttle and pedal assist, set this to “2”.

(If for some reason you only want throttle and no pedal assist then set this to “1”, but I don’t recommend it. You will get very little battery range and overstrain your motor!)

If you don’t use the throttle and are worried that you may accidentally grab it when you don’t want to, then you can simply turn it off and never worry again. 🙂

This setting is telling your motor when you want it to start assisting based on how many pedal rotations you do.

This comes preset to “3”.

With this set at “1”, your motor will assist right away, with about a quarter-turn of the pedals.

This may seem great, but on bumpy roads, it will cause your motor to start assisting even when you are not pedaling!

You can set this all the way to “24”, but at this level, you will need to pedal about 3 times before the motor will kick in. This is pretty laggy in my opinion.

I would recommend leaving it at the prest “3” or maybe going a little higher to “5” or “7” if you plan to ride a lot of bumpy, off-road terrain.

If you want the most precision assist then set this to “1”, but I would only do this if you are mainly riding on smooth streets.

This setting will tell your motor how strong you want it to start when using pedal assist.

This is preset to “1” which is the smoothest transfer of power and probably a good setting for most riders.

You can adjust this up to “5” if you want the motor to kick right in and give you the most boost right away. This can feel a bit jerky but will get you up to speed the quickest.

You can also set this anywhere between “1” and “5” to fine-tune your ride. If your ebike already feels like it’s jerking you forward then I would check this setting and make sure it is at “1”.

This setting toggles the walk mode on and off.

  • 0 = Walk mode off
  • 1 = Walk mode on

If you don’t know what the walk mode is, then watch the video above and I will show you how to use it and why you may want to keep it turned on.

What is “Cruise Control” on the Lectric XP 2.0?

This is a kind of fun, but dangerous, setting on this ebike.

To enable cruise control, you need to have the throttle engaged and twist it a little. Then while keeping the throttle twisted, press and hold the “-” button. You will see the word “cruise” appear on your screen.

Then you can let go of the throttle and the bike will keep moving as if you were holding the throttle in that position.

This mode does not keep your bike at a certain speed! It will keep it moving at the level of throttle you twisted to.

So if you pull the throttle back the whole way and engage cruise control your bike will keep speeding up as if you were still holding the throttle back the whole way.

If you just twist the throttle back halfway, you will cruise as if you were still holding the throttle halfway.

To disengage the cruise control, just pull the brake levers.

I don’t really recommend cruise control, it’s kind of weird. Use at your own risk!

Specific Settings For the Lectric XP 2.0

For a class 1 ebike with smooth ride .

Max pedal assist – 20mph: No Throttle: Gentle motor engagement

(This would be good for National Parks, State Parks, and most multi-use paths)

For a Class 2 Ebike with Smooth Ride

Max pedal assist – 20mph: With Throttle: Gentle motor engagement

(This is good for most streets and campgrounds)

For a Class 3 Ebike with Smooth Ride

Max pedal assist – 28mph: No Throttle: Gentle motor engagement

(This is only for more experienced riders and not allowed at most parks)

For Safer Off-Roading Set-Up

Max pedal assist 20mph: With Throttle: Mild motor engagement

For Pro Off-Roading Set-Up

Max pedal assist 28mph: With Throttle: Strong motor engagement

(experienced riders only)

Now, there are other ways to set up this bike so that it is the most responsive, but also the most dangerous and I will not cover those here.

If you want to play with the settings and crank everything up to the most sensitive then I’m sure you will figure it out. But, I don’t recommend setting this bike up that way.

At the End of the Day

So you can see that the Lectric XP 2.0 is pretty versatile in how you change it to fit your own riding style.

I set mine up the way I like and hopefully, now you can do the same.

I’m pretty impressed that this little ebike allows you to switch between Classes and tweak the sensitivity of the motor a bit.

I can see more ebikes adopting these features in the future.

Stay safe out there and Keep on Riding!

5 Reasons Why Your Cruise Control Stopped Working

Magnus Sellén

  • Updated: March 15, 2023

Cruise Control Not Working

It would be difficult to find a vehicle on the road today without cruise control. This invaluable feature makes driving long distances easier but can also cause trouble when it malfunctions. Understanding the reasons your cruise control stopped working ensures that you can get the problem fixed quickly for a more enjoyable ride.

While this fault can cause issues with the cruise control system itself, there could also be an effect on the acceleration of your vehicle. That’s why you want to have it looked at as soon as you notice a problem. Let’s take a quick look at the reasons your cruise control may have stopped working.

Reasons Why Your Cruise Control Stopped Working

The most common reason a cruise control stops working is due to a blown fuse or a defective brake pedal switch . It can also be caused by issues with the throttle control system or the ABS. In older cruise control systems, it can be caused by a broken vacuum line.

Here is a more detailed list of the possible reasons your cruise control is not working:

1. Blown Fuse

broken fuse

All electrical systems in the vehicle are controlled by fuses. Your cruise control system is attached to a fuse that can blow if there is a short circuit or fault. Without a good fuse, the cruise control system can’t work at all.

Thankfully, it’s not difficult to find and replace a blown fuse. Look in the owner’s manual to find the fuse that corresponds with the cruise control technology.

2. Defective Brake Pedal Switch

push brake pedal

The brake pedal switch is responsible for turning the brake lights on and off based on the pedal position. Cruise control systems are designed to disengage whenever your brake pedal gets pressed.

Because the cruise control is wired into the brake pedal switch, any fault can cause it to stop working. When the brake pedal switch malfunctions, the car believes the brakes are engaged, causing the system to turn off automatically. Not only that, but your car’s brake light might also be stuck on, leaving confused drivers in your wake.

3. Malfunctioning Speed Sensor

abs sensor close

Speed sensors are located on every wheel or differential. The purpose of these sensors is to monitor the speed of the wheels to determine if traction control is needed.

The speed sensors are also part of the cruise control system. When a sensor fails, the cruise control can stop working and the speedometer might act strange as well.

If there is an issue with a speed sensor, it will often show with an ABS warning light or a check engine light on the dashboard.

RELATED: 3 Symptoms of a Bad ABS Wheel Speed Sensor

4. Electrical Issues

cruise control buttons

The cruise control system is electronic, with many components working together to make the system operate. If the cruise control fails to work, you want to check the wiring harness and associated connectors for a fault.

You also need to ensure that the voltage source is supplying enough power to the system. Even the smallest fault can cause defects with the cruise control. In many cases, there can be an issue with the cruise control lever or buttons causing the cruise control to not engage.

If your cruise control buttons are located on the steering wheel it could also be caused by a bad clock spring, which is located behind the steering wheel.

Check the system with an OBD2 scanner to look for any trouble codes related to the cruise control.

RELATED: 5 Symptoms of a Broken Clock Spring, Location & Replacement Cost

5. Damaged Vacuum Actuator, Hoses or Cable (Older cruise control)

If you drive an older vehicle with cruise control, you might have an issue with the vacuum actuator or the cable that connects to the throttle. If there has been damage done to the vacuum hoses or the actuator, the cruise control will stop working altogether.

Additionally, the cable linking the actuator to the throttle must be in good shape. If it has been broken, the cruise control will fail.

What is Cruise Control?

Cruise control is a feature that is used when you are traveling at a consistent speed. Cruise control was first introduced for automobiles in the 1950s. However, it took many years before it became a staple in the modern vehicle.

This electrical system allows you to set a predetermined speed and take your foot off of the gas pedal. If you are on a long drive, there is less fatigue because you don’t have to try to maintain your speed. Cruise control can also benefit fuel economy because the vehicle uses less fuel when traveling steadily.

In newer cars, you might be able to find adaptive cruise control , which is a smart technology. Adaptive cruise control allows you to travel at a predetermined speed, but it also helps to maintain a safe distance from the vehicles in front of you with the help of sensors. With conventional cruise control, you need to take over when the car in front of you slows down, but that’s not the case with adaptive cruise control.

There are also vehicles nowadays with not only cruise control, but fully self-driving vehicles . We will most likely see much more of this in the future.

Cruise Control Repair Cost

The cost to repair your cruise control system depends on what caused it to fail. If you need to replace a cruise control or brake switch, you might spend between $125 and $350, including parts and labor. However, the cost to change a fuse is only a few dollars and you can perform the replacement yourself in just a matter of seconds.

On the other hand, when something major fails, such as the actuator, you could be looking at a much higher repair bill. In some vehicles, the cost to replace a cruise control actuator can cost more than $700. These costs rise if you drive a luxury vehicle or one that is difficult to get parts for.

It might not seem immediately important for you to fix the broken cruise control, but this defective system can affect other performance aspects. You could start to notice issues with acceleration or have trouble with the speedometer. To play it safe, it’s always best to have the cruise control repaired as soon as you notice a problem.

Is there a fuse for the cruise control?

Yes. If the cruise control is installed from the factory, you should check your car’s owner’s manual for the fuse location. If it’s an aftermarket cruise control, you’ll need to follow the wires to find the fuse.

Does the brake switch affect the cruise control system?

Yes. The brake switch affects the cruise control system. The brake switch sends a signal to the cruise control system to let it know when the brakes are being applied for the engine to know when it should stop accelerating.

Will the cruise control work if the check engine light is on?

The cruise control function will be disabled when the check engine light is on in most car models, even if the cause of the check engine light is not the cruise control itself. This is mainly due to safety reasons.

Can a vacuum leak affect cruise control?

Older vehicles use vacuum to control the throttle for the cruise control, and in this case a vacuum leak can heavily affect the cruise control. However, modern cruise controls are fully electric and in most cases will not be affected by a vacuum leak if the check engine light is not illuminated.

Although many people may think that the cruise control system is unimportant and not worth spending money to repair, the problem can be caused by a faulty part that will affect the engine’s performance or durability. Therefore, it is best not to ignore the problem if your cruise control is not working without first diagnosing the car properly.

If your cruise control still isn’t working after trying all the tips in this article, it’s probably time to take it in for a professional opinion from a mechanic. It may be a more serious problem that requires replacement parts or repairs. In the meantime, drive safe and enjoy the open road!

How does cruise control work?

cruise control lite

Cruise control on the Lectric XP is similar to cruise control on a car. To activate, hold the down arrow while twisting the throttle. The bike will try to maintain a speed based on the position of the throttle when cruise control is activated.

For example, if the throttle is twisted all the way from its resting position (to a position that would normally maintain 20mph) and the down arrow is held, cruise control will be activated and set to 20mph.

Even if the bike is going slower than 20mph, it will try to accelerate and maintain that speed because it was set based on that throttle position. To cruise at low speeds, slightly twist the throttle and hold the down arrow.

Cruise control can be deactivated at any time by pulling the brakes. This will also cut power to the motor as it would during normal operation.

TL;DR: From what I gather, you basically use the throttle to reach your desired speed and while engaging throttle press and hold the down button on the left side. Additional throttle or braking will discontinue cruise. I saw the same video yesterday and I look forward to trying this out!
