Cimorelli is a vocal pop group comprised of six sisters: Christina, Katherine, Lisa, Amy Lauren, and Dani. The siblings have released several EPs and have toured in support for them; however, their claim to fame is strongly rooted in YouTube, an outlet through which they have amassed millions of fans.

The girls have taken up a style similarly exhibited by classic pop vocal groups like the Jackson 5 and Menudo; however, they have interpolated the formula to fit their own direction. Comparisons to the cast of Glee and Pitch Perfect are readily made, particularly on account of the Cimorelli sisters’ setlist consisting primarily of covers of modern pop songs; however, they have frequently incorporated original material into the mix.

Taking in considerations the physical similarities and musical range present amongst the sisters, they do a masterful job of creating interesting dynamics and melodic variation in their music. Their sound is tight niche and while the basis of their recordings are built around their vocal performance they do not hesitate to throw in minimal instrumentation to spice things up.

The sisters formed Cimorelli in 2007 and received a great deal of guidance and nurturing from their mother Lynne who is also a music major, choir director, and composer.

Cimorelli became instant cyber stars off their musical rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “Party In the USA”. This cover spread like wildfire over the internet and paved the way for their future endeavors. This incredible positive feedback instigated the clan to post even more videos of their cover performances and eventually led to a string of EP releases. Their 1st EP was composed entirely by Christina and Lauren while arrangements for vocal harmonies were handled by Lisa.

In 2009 Cimorelli was taken under the guide of Sugarbabes’ manager Sarah Stennett and in 2011 they put out their 2nd EP “CimFam”. This EP contained selections such as Jessie J’s “Price Tag”, One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful”, and an original composition entitled “Million Bucks”. Since this release they have been steadily issuing EPs at a one per year rate, continuing on with “Believe It” (2012), Made in America (2013), and Renegade (2014). Their Christmas EP was also released in 2014 and was performed a Capella.

The advent of youtube provided the platform on which Cimorelli became successful but the reason why the group of six sisters exploded in stardom is owed to their keen sense of knowing what pop songs to interpret and how to do so and their tenacity in frequently putting out material. Their weekly releases of cover songs captured the attention of millions on the internet and eventually caught the eye of their current record label, Islands. Their rise in popularity saw the girls taking more risks. They offered more comical and playful videos on the internet and became bolder in performing original material. Their attempts payed off quite well with their smashing release of “Made In America”. Though six vocalists seems like it could be overwhelming, the sisters truly know how to harness their voices into a coherent network of sound and can precisely playoff each-others qualities. Though the groups inspiration from modern pop music cannot be overlooked, at times their primary source of influence seems to be streamlined from shows like Glee and Pitch Perfect. The band’s strong-suit lies in their vocal performance and many of their songs feature nothing but that. They have enamored audiences with a cappella renditions of songs like Lorde’s “Royals”, minimal instrument accompaniments as evidenced on their performance of “Let It Go”, and full blown backing tracks that provide the basis for many of their originals.

Took my daughter to see these guys last weekend and she was one of a few hundred teen and pre-teen kids in the audience for a fantastic performance. The girls introduced each song with some background and stories which were all perfectly pitched to the audience and the message was a totally positive and affirming for the girls in the audience. I love this band!! Oh yes and so does my daughter!!

I wanted to go jan 20 to hard rock cafe in boston but albany ny had 15 inches of snow! Please come back to boston or come to juipter hall at crossgates mall in albany ny this year!

I still want to sing wiht the group the national anthem at fenway park! Atlease it did not snow on feb 23, 2019 when I sang athem at the glens falls civic center in frond of 5,178 fans!

The Cimorelli concert was one of the best concerts I've ever seen. The girls are so inspirational and kind and funny. Meeting them was awesome as they are so so kind. Christina is very inspirational with her speeches and the keep cracking jokes and roasting each other. It's a show you can't miss.

I Reaallly Have to say that they are a great band. They are very talented and gorgeous. They're songs are so meaningful that when you hear 1 word of it you would cry. i would not be doing this if they werent famous.. what i am trying to say is... I LOVE CIMORELLI!!!

About Cimorelli

Cimorelli covers popular songs and posts them on YouTube. Cimorelli is the band's name because it's the girls' last name. They also have five brothers, who sometimes appear in the girls' videos. The original members of the group were Christina, Katherine, Lisa, Amy and Lauren, who launched the band in 2007.

Their covers and original songs feature their signature harmonies and are more often then not acappella. The solos are split up between the six of them on every song. Harmony parts are assigned according to vocal range and lyrical age-appropriateness. Because the girls do not swear and have many younger fans, they sometimes change the lyrics of a song they are covering to make it more age-appropriate.

In 2007, the five oldest girls and oldest brother, Mike Cimorelli Jr. , began Cimorelli as a group, and recorded covers of popular songs and uploaded them to YouTube.

In 2008, the girls released their first EP called Hello There . Each song was written by Christina and Lauren with the vocal harmonies arranged by Lisa. It was not officially released under a record label.

In 2009, the band came under the management of Sarah Stennett. They signed with Universal Music.

In 2010, the family moved to Southern California so the girls could pursue their music career.

Dani Cimorelli, the youngest sister, officially joined the group.

In 2011, they released their first the EP under the label. CimFam EP was released on December 6, 2011.

In the summer of 2012, Cimorelli was nominated for a Teen Choice Award in the category of "Choice Web Star," but lost to Sophia Grace and Rosie .

In the beginning of June, Cimorelli was featured in the Just Dance 4 trailer featuring Flo Rida. [2] They can be seen in the beginning and ending.

Around August of 2012, Cimorelli teamed up with AT&T for their "Don't Text and Drive" campaign. The girls uploaded multiple videos dealing with the topic.

December 11th, Cimorelli released their EP, Believe It , on iTunes and Amazon. Also with a music video for Believe It on their new VEVO YouTube channel the same day.

In June of 2013, the girls collaborated with James Maslow from Big Time Rush on a cover of Mirrors .

On June 18, Cimorelli released their fourth EP Made in America . They released a music video on VEVO for the title track Made in America on June 26th.

In August, the girls revealed two new songs at their final stop on the tour, Unsaid Things and The Last Time . They also sat down with Chelsea Briggs from Hollywire TV to talk about their upcoming debut album and Lisa said they had two albums worth of songs that they've written to start recording during August.

After losing the previous year, Cimorelli pulled out the win in 2013 Teen Choice Award for Choice Web Star.

The summer of 2014 Cimorelli performed at DigiFest in London, DigiFest NYC, and DigiFest Toronto.

On May 19th, Cimorelli hosted the AwesomenessTV show on Nickelodeon at 8pm.

On June 5th, Hasbro Inc presented a new brand anthem for their DOHVINCI Art and Design Kits, an original song written by Cimorelli called, " What I do ". It was released on iTunes the same day.

In June, Cimorelli launched a web series entitled " Summer with Cimorelli ", which was sponsored by the restaurant franchise Subway. They released a new single through the series episodes, " Everything You Have ", on June 9th on iTunes.

On August 25th, the girls released the single " Come Over " on iTunes. Written for Hasbro, it is included in the Twister Dance game, with A Twister Dance Remix of the song released on iTunes the same day.

On October 27th, they released their fifth EP called Renegade . With all four originals later having music videos published on VEVO.

They released Christmas Magic EP on November 24th on iTunes. The album is entirely a Capella. They later released a music video for Joy To the World from the album on VEVO the 17th of December.

On December 9th it was announced that Cimorelli signed a cross-platform production and distribution deal with Entertainment One that will bring the them to TV and film projects.

On December 18th, Lauren and Dani Cimorelli were featured on Nickelodeon's show React To That.

On February 28, Cimorelli's first european tour ( Renegade Tour ) started.

On March 10, Cimorelli's bonus track to Renegade , " All My Friends Say " was released. The music video came out on March 19th.

On May 22, Cimorelli released their first mixtape Hearts On Fire , which include 9 original songs.

On September 27, Cimorelli started their second tour Hearts On Fire Tour .

On April 2, the Hearts On Fire Tour will start the South America Leg.

Their sophomore album Alive was released. In September, they announced their third album Sad Girls Club. It was released on October 24th.
