Retrofit cruise control

Hi, sorry I know I have asked before but has anyone managed to get cruise control retrofitted to their mrk 3? I am being given the run around by local Audi dealer after agreeing to fit it several months ago. They say Audi Europe was going to give a code but now state Audi Europe say they don't retrofit. Getting impatient with them! :-(  

I'm waiting for this, too. Which reminds me I should chase up the dealer! I'll let you know if I hear back!

Although it's not currently listed as an option for the MK3, I'm pretty sure HazzyDayz will do this. It's certainly worth asking them and I doubt they'll cost any more than the Audi dealer. Of course, they may not be located conveniently for you.

They just over charge for the real simple things and claim it takes ages to do stuff and it just doesn't in most cases. It's a click on a screen and done. I don't recall how many RNS i fitted, but you could do it "correctly" which its arguable that not all were correctly coded even if they did roughly work in 15mins. Also they don't work this stuff out, it's just a take.. (IMO).

You can find on eBay all the levers with cruise control but it's a big job to do... Pull out the airbag and the steering wheel, some plastic on around and use the vag. I did it on others Audi but before 2014  

I actually had it installed a few months ago by audi but there was some kind of error on vc and they got an auto electrics guy to try fix it but couldn't. Audi Ireland then removed stalk etc and said they would wait for the authorisation code from audi Europe to allow it to work. That's 4 months and now I am told audi Europe won't give this code. This was part of the original agreement when buying as it wasn't specced on the car and I am worried they are trying to get out of the installation. Perhaps it is all correct but I am hoping to ideally get it installed or perhaps exchange for some other retrofit- any opinions or suggestions would be great. Maybe I don't need the cruise as I have driven the car and don't really miss it but would love a reverse camera instead, should chance my arm?? Thanks ;-)  

I just dont understand why Audi makes it differently from market to market with such a small add-on (if done right from the factory). In Australia I have it on every single car I have owned so far including subaru, vw, audi, bmw, toyota etc... although I rarely use it. What I really missed in TT is the Adaptive Cruise Control, which is a very expensive option and I bypassed it when making the order. If you really need that cruise control, you should go for that Adaptive CC one. It's worth it

ACC isn't available for the mk3 at all! but I'm sure it can be fitted since I found settings via vag and activated in the virtual cockpit..the only problem is the grill that doesn't exist a grill with the space for the radar..or the side grill.. I like cruise control and I use everyday everywhere but as you said, it's an optional that should be standard!  

I asked the same question after buying mine, and I got this answer back yesterday from my dealer "had an email back from Audi UK sales office there saying that at the min we can't fit the cruise control." No idea when that will change.

I was told by Audi employee that they are paranoid that if a system is retrofitted and an accident occurs as a result of it they will somehow by held liable, hence the reluctance! I am going to try get them to aggree to fit a reversing camera! :x  

ok..they don't want to do the job!easy! talking for previous years, in the 90% of the car, was sufficient buy the cruise control, install it and activate it via vag..10% was the necessity to change the comfort electronics or add a cable from the steering wheel to the main ecu near the engine. this 10% was the case where maybe you could have serious troubles.. any warranty forbids to modify components, but if you install it by yourself and the go for a service, they don't even notice it! buy it on eBay and install it!

you need a mechanic to install it but it's an easier job!  

Audi have advised me it's not available to retrofit as yet but will be in time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk  

That means they haven't a clue how to do it Gogs lol It's got to be doable On iPhone using Tapacrap  

It's an easy job! Only a mechanic to remove airbag and steering wheel  

Audi retro fitted cruise control in mine, no prob fitted in a few hours and then tested. Took awhile for them to organise it though!

What’s included in the box:

For example, if the vehicle is driving up a steep hill and cannot maintain the set speed in the current gear, the cruise control will deactivate.
• Throttle pedal connection: The connection between the throttle pedal and the cruise control only affects the vehicle’s operation when the cruise control is turned on. When the cruise control is turned off, the pedal signals are unchanged, allowing the throttle pedal to operate normally.
• Brake and clutch deactivation: The cruise control will automatically deactivate if the driver applies the brake or clutch pedal, ensuring that the driver retains full control over the vehicle.

General installation process – for Audi TT (8S) 2015-2019

Installing a cruise control system typically requires accessing the area under the dashboard and steering column. Here are the general steps involved in the installation process:

• Remove the knee-trim and steering column cowling to access the area where the cruise control components will be installed.
• Use soldered joints for the +ve and CANBUS connections, which can be found in the OBD or Data link connector.
• Unplug the throttle pedal connector and place the T-harness inline. Connect the other end of the harness to the cruise computer.
• Install the command module to the steering column cowling, ensuring that you mark the best position before removing the trim. Run the cabling and connect it into the main computer loom.
• Once the components are installed, perform a simple setup procedure that typically takes 10-20 minutes. This procedure does not require any extra equipment, and the necessary information to communicate with the vehicle is pre-installed by Conrad Anderson.
• Take the vehicle on a short drive and test the cruise control to ensure that it is working correctly. Some modified body or high payload vehicles may require some adjustment to make sure the speed is kept constant and the acceleration rate is suitable.

By following these steps, you can have a cruise control system installed in your vehicle, enhancing your driving experience with increased comfort and safety.

Command module functions

The GC3 is the basic stalk that is included in the cruise control product price. It provides all the basic functions required for cruise control operation, including setting the current speed, increasing or decreasing the speed, coasting to deactivate the cruise (which can also be done by applying the brake or clutch pedal), and resuming the cruise at the previous speed.

Alternatively, there are other command modules available that include the same basic functions as the GC3 but with additional preset speed memory buttons. These buttons allow you to save specific speeds and quickly recall them later, without having to manually adjust the cruise control every time you want to travel at a different speed.

For example, the GC4 command module includes two preset memory buttons, while the GC5 has three preset memory buttons in a new design. These preset speeds can be changed at any time, but they are non-volatile, meaning they will remain set even after the ignition is turned off.

By providing these additional preset speed memory buttons, the GC4 and GC5 command modules make it easier to use cruise control, allowing you to quickly adjust your speed to match different road conditions or driving situations.

When installing the command module for the cruise control, the stalk command modules are bolted to the steering column cowling. The wiring for the command module runs through the centre of the hollow mounting bolt and connects to the main computer wiring loom. The wires are supplied non-terminated, which means that they need to be run through the drilled cowling before being connected to the pre-pinned cables.

During installation, it’s important to take care to mount the module in a location that provides enough space behind the cowling for the securing nut and flanged washer. The final position of the stalk is adjustable using the integral ball joint, so it can be adjusted to the optimal position for the driver’s comfort and convenience.

Overall, the installation process for the command module requires careful attention to detail and precision, but it is relatively straightforward for an experienced installer. Once the module is installed and connected to the main computer wiring loom, it can be calibrated and tested to ensure that it is working correctly and providing the desired functionality for the driver.

Troubleshooting:

If the cruise control does not activate, there are several steps that can be taken to diagnose and troubleshoot the issue. The first step is to check the power supply and main fuse for the command module. If the module indicator light does not change from green to red, it may be

Hi and welcome. Since the ECU complains about an Implausible Signal from the CCS switch, check MVBs 066 and 067. Exercise the switches while watching the fields. Hover your cursor over the bit fields to show the meaning of the individual bits. My guess is that one of the requisite inputs isn't toggling/switching as it should. -Uwe-

I've had a look at the MVB 066 and 067. in block 066 Switch Position II the first digit flickers between 0 and 1. As soon as I activate the switch the block returns an ERROR in red. That digit appears to refer to " CCS ON (Hardware Pin)"

Ordered a "genuine" wire, I will fit it when it arrives which could take a few days  

Finally got a chance to get back to this. I got the "genuine" repair wire, clipped off the pins I had crimped and then soldered in the ends of the repair wire. Cruise control is now working. I guess it must have been a slightly dodgy crimp on my part. Alls well that ends well. Thanks for your help  

Or perhaps a dirty pin. I took a blank connector and ran it on and off the pins before fitting so it could have been that. Especially as the pins were unused for 15 years.

Dmitry Yazov

Dmitry Yazov is the protégé of Dmitry Karbyshev , founder of the All-Russian Black League. He succeeds Karbyshev as Glavkoverkh (commander-in-chief) of Omsk after his master's death.

At a relatively young age, Yazov was evacuated to Omsk by the Soviet Union prior to their capitulation. A patriot to Russia at heart, the formation of the All-Russian Black League changed his life, for the better. Dmitry Karbyshev, after arriving in Omsk, took Yazov under his wing. He was heavily indoctrinated into the "Great Trial," a theoretical third war between Germany and Russia.

However, Yazov grew to follow the vision of the Great Trial in mind, and so did his fellow officers. Fueled by hatred of the Germans, he believed making the Great Trial merely a defensive war would be an injustice to all the lives lost by their hands. As Karbyshev's health declines, and with him as the chosen successor, it is only a matter of time before the Great Trial becomes the day when Germany will feel Russia's total revenge.

Involvement

Yazov succeeds Karbyshev as the Black League's leader after the latter dies following the completion of Omsk's first focus tree. Yazov is one of the hardest warlords to unify Russia under - the only warlord he can peacefully unify with is the Free Aviators ; after that, he will have to go to war with whoever unifies West Russia and the eastern half of Russia. Similarly, he cannot exert influence in the Southern Urals and must invade to annex this territory. While he cannot unite peacefully with the West Russian Revolutionary Front , he does respect them greatly because of their fight against the Germans in the West Russian War ; if the Front is led by Mikhail Tukhachevsky , Yazov will recruit Dmitry Ustinov and Alexey Yepishev into the Black League after defeating them.

Although Omsk's end goal of the Great Trial is shown to be a brave one, Yazov is shown to at least be pragmatic about getting there. He will genuinely reconstruct Russia, and will turn the Redemption Brigades (convicts who are allowed to serve in return for reduced/pardoned sentences that, prior to Yazov's command, were largely viewed as cannon fodder) into a legitimate fighting force by providing them better training and equipment. He will also make genuine efforts to connect diplomatically with the United States.

Despite the Black League claiming to the world that they are merely practicing "developmental authoritarianism" and will reinstate democracy as soon as they have unified Russia, should Sverdlovsk defeat Omsk, this is revealed to be a lie, as after being sentenced to death at his trial, Yazov will state that he believes democracy makes Russia weak. At the regional stage, in order to present a better image to the world, he has the choice to pretend to be a despot instead of ultranationalist.

Should a player-controlled Omsk face Komi led by Mikhail Suslov , Sergey Taboritsky or any centrist leader, Samara , the Aryan Brotherhood or Vyatka at the regional stage, or either Irkutsk led by Genrikh Yagoda or Buryatia at the superregional stage, Yazov will have unique flavor events condemning those countries and/or their leaders, as seen here . Additionally, if the player defeats the Aryan Brotherhood, Samara, or Amur as Omsk, each nation will have unique flavor events where Yazov executes members of those nations.

• Yazov's music during the Russian unification super-event is called "Battle on the ice" from an movie Alexander Nevsky about the Teutonic-Novogrodian war. The historical Battle on the Ice ended with a decisive Novgorodian victory, which halted any further Teutonic expansion eastwards and made the Teutons drop all claims on Russian lands. This may be referencing Yazov's plan to undo german eastern expansion and his frequent use of the word "Teutons."
