What to expect: Experience ASU

Thank you for registering to attend an Experience ASU information session and tour. Below you will find information to help guide you to your check-in location, parking and other important information based on the campus you selected. Please refer to your confirmation email for specifics about your visit.

We require all visitors to register before arriving on campus. To register for a campus tour, click below to learn more about Experience ASU and the tours available. Tours are available based on the campus you would like to visit. There are also self-guided and virtual options available.

Downtown phoenix campus.

Programming includes an admission presentation, academic session and campus tour, based on availability. Experience ASU start times are determined by the day, time and campus you select. Please refer to the start time in your confirmation letter, as there are multiple programming opportunities throughout the day.

  • 30-minute presentation facilitated by Admission Services.
  • 60-minute campus tour.
  • Academic session based on campus, day and time.
  • 30-minute Barrett, The Honors College session and tour based on campus, day and time.

Guests are responsible for the cost of parking on all ASU campuses. Prices vary based on location, ranging from $3 per hour to $16 per day. Paymobile machines accept all major credit cards. We recommend using designated ASU parking lots and not metered street city parking as those are intended for short-term use.

Please allow at least 15 minutes to park and walk to the check-in location.

There are various parking options near the Arizona Center. We also encourage using rideshare or public transportation options in downtown Phoenix. The city of Phoenix also has an  interactive map  where you can view current, planned and emergency street closures.

  • Arizona Center Parking Garage , 401 E. Fillmore St., Phoenix.

In order to ensure you have a seamless and enjoyable experience on campus, we ask that you check in at least 15 minutes prior to your visit start time. Remember, your parking location may be a short walk from the check in location.

  • Check-in location:   Arizona Center , second floor, classroom 265, 455 N. Third St., Phoenix.

Optional Barrett, The Honors College tours

Please note, all Barrett, The Honors College tours are based on your selected campus, day and time. If you signed up for an optional  Barrett, The Honors College  tour, below you will find information to help guide you to your check-in location, parking and other important information based on the campus you selected.

Please check in at least 10 minutes prior to your visit start time.

Parking and check-in (Barrett)

There are various parking options near the Arizona Center and Mercado. We also encourage using rideshare or public transportation options in downtown Phoenix. The city of Phoenix also has an  interactive map  where you can view current, planned and emergency street closures.

The Barrett, The Honors College suite is located at Mercado B, 541 E. Van Buren St., Phoenix, with parking located at the  Heritage Parking Garage , 501 E. Monroe St., Phoenix.

Polytechnic campus

There are various parking lot options near the Administration building.

  • Lot 6 or Lot 10 . Please pay prior to checking in.
  • Check-in location:   Administration building , 5990 S. Sterling Mall, Mesa.

There are various parking lot options near Lantana Hall, near the Administration building.

Check-in location:   Lantana Hall , 5885 S. Twining St., Mesa. Enter the door near the Barrett sign and check in with the front desk attendant.

Aviation program optional tour

If you signed up for an optional  Aviation program  tour at the Polytechnic campus, below you will find information to help guide you to your check-in location, parking and other important information based on the campus you selected. Please refer to your confirmation email for specifics about your visit.

At the conclusion of your academic session, navigate to the  Simulator Building , 7442 Innovation Way N, Mesa. Check-in on the second floor, front desk.

Tempe campus

There are various parking options near the Future Sun Devil Welcome Center.

  • Fulton Center structure , 715 S. College Ave., Tempe.
  • Stadium parking structure , E. Veterans Way, Tempe.
  • Lot 67 , 215 E. Sixth St., Tempe.
  • Check-in location:   Future Sun Devil Welcome Center , 660 S. College Ave., Tempe.

Please note, all Barrett, The Honors College tours are based on your selected campus, day and time. If you signed up for an optional  Barrett, The Honors College  tour, below you will find information to help guide you to your check-in location, parking and other important information based on the campus you selected. The Barrett Tempe visit consists of a 30-minute information session and 45-minute walking tour of he honors residential community.

Parking and check-in

There are various parking options near the  Vista del Sol Community Center . 

  • Vista del Sol East parking lot , 701 E. Apache Blvd., Tempe. A limited number of complimentary parking spaces are available in this lot, located on the south end and marked as “Future Resident, Barrett Tour Visitor.” If all the free spots are taken, metered parking spaces are available on the north end of the lot.

Check-in location:   Vista del Sol Community Center , 701 E. Apache Blvd., Tempe. Check in at the desk on the right side of the lobby.

West Valley campus

Due to scheduling and high demand, if you do not check in by the assigned time, we may not be able to accommodate you. If you are running late, please call one of the following numbers:

ASU Art Museum

ASU Art Museum will resume group tours at the start of the academic year, August 22nd.

ASU Art Museum offers a variety of tours to meet the needs of our diverse audiences. From school groups, to university classes, to the everyday visitor, we have a selection of tours that connect you to the artwork and exhibitions we have on display.

Scheduling A Group Tour

ASU Art Museum (located on the Tempe campus) is currently taking tours on a case by case basis during the summer. If you are interested in touring, please email [email protected] to schedule a tour.

Ceramic Research Center and Brickyard Gallery  (sister location to the main museum, located in Downtown Tempe) is open by appointments only during the summer. Please email [email protected] to schedule a tour or a visit.

Two weeks’ or more advance notice is requested for all tours. The tour request form offers a section to ask for a different time if the time listed on the request form does not work with your group.

Self-guided visits

Bring your group or class in to explore the exhibitions at your own pace. Reservations are required for groups of 12 people or more. A one-week notice is required for self-guided visits with larger groups.

To notify us of your visit please fill out the tour request form and select self-guided visit as the option.

Guided Tour: an hour-long conversational tour around the museum that gives you a closer connection to the themes and artwork in every exhibition. Our tour guides tailor tours for different age ranges and different interests. When you fill out the tour request form, please specify your groups age, interests or exhibition(s) they would like to spend more time in.

Guided Tour with our Evergreen Card Game: an hour-long conversational tour around the museum that gives you a closer connection to the themes and artwork  in every exhibition. The card game offers another way to learn visual literacy through the elements of arts and priniciples of design.

Print Study Room Tour:  an hour-long tour to view a selection of prints from the collection, as well as examples of tools used to create the prints. The Print Collection Manager will be available to explain the tools and printmaking processes.

Self-Guided Visits: a self-paced exploration of exhibitions and the museum (see self-guided visit section above).

Field Trips through Act One

We have paired up with the arts non-profit  Act One to bring more students into the museum. Act One provides free transportation for Title 1 schools to different cultural institutions across the state. If you are interested in this program for your class or school, check out on the Field Trip page on the Act One website. Tour slots are limited and must be scheduled through Act One

Accommodations

We offer accommodations for visitors to ensure the best experience possible. If your group needs accommodations (i.e., wheel chairs, directions to elevators, and more), please include them in your tour request.

Parking/Bus

Cars or vans are encouraged to park in Lot 9 (directly west of the museum). Please bring your license plate number to the lobby desk to sign in.

Buses may drop off or pick up groups at the museum’s front driveway, which faces Mill Avenue, or along the sidewalk parallel to 10th Street. During the duration of the tour, buses must park in Lot 59 next to ASU’s football stadium.

Lunch Facilities

There are no group lunch facilities at ASU Art Museum, but there are several outdoor areas and restaurants located close to the museum.
