This is a stunning piece of history featuring full colour photos. There is some minor scuffing but overwise in great condition.

THE TOUR Lenny Kravitz's "The Universal Love Tour" in 1993 was a concert tour that supported his third studio album, "Are You Gonna Go My Way." This album, released in March 1993, marked a significant milestone in Kravitz's career, as it solidified his reputation as a major rock artist of the 1990s. Known for his retro style that drew heavily on 1960s and 1970s rock and soul music, Kravitz blended rock, soul, funk, and psychedelic influences.

"The Universal Love Tour" would have featured songs from the "Are You Gonna Go My Way" album, including its famous title track, which became one of Kravitz's most popular songs. “Blue Electric Light” es el duodécimo álbum del icono del rock y su primera propuesta musical de larga duración en cinco años.  Doce canciones que recibieron una aclamación generalizada de la crítica. Este lunes 24 de junio los fanáticos de Lenny Kravitz finalmente celebran luego de que se anunciara su regreso a nuestro país a cinco años de su última presentación tras su paso por el Lollapalooza Chile 2019 .

La llegada del cantante, actor y productor se llevará a cabo el próximo 4 de diciembre en el Movistar Arena , donde hará un repaso por sus clásicas y nuevas canciones junto a la gira Blue Electric Light Tour .

Su regreso a Chile se concretó gracias a una coproducción de DG Medios y Lotus , junto a Banco de Chile , quienes ofrecen un descuento en la preventa de entradas.

¿Cómo puedo comprar las entradas?

Los tickets estarán disponibles en formato preventa a partir de este miércoles 26 de junio a las 11:00 am a través del sitio web de Puntoticket y podrás acceder a un descuento exclusivo si eres cliente del Banco de Chile .

La preventa estará disponible desde el 26 de junio hasta el 28 de junio a las 11:00 am o hasta agotar stock de 7 mil entradas, distribuido en todas las localidades. Un 20% de descuento pagando con tarjetas de la entidad.

Lenny Kravitz Goes Wireless with Shure Axient®

NILES, Ill. Jan. 28, 2015 —Throughout his career, Lenny Kravitz has always insisted on accuracy in his guitar tone. “He works hard on getting everything just right, especially his guitar,” says Alex Alvarez, Lenny’s guitar tech of 23 years. “He’s just insistent on his sound, which is why he never went wireless. Every time we would demo something, it would never meet his expectations.”

“It started as a conversation with Lenny,” Alex relates. “The subject of wireless guitar came up, and I told him there was a system I wanted him to check out. He said, ‘We’ve been down this road before. I would like to, but you know if it doesn’t sound right, I’m not going to do it.’ So I called Lance at Tour Supply to set up a demo.”

With rehearsals being in Miami, Lance Wascom, CEO of Tour Supply, had two days to set up the requested shootout. “We showed two Shure systems, Axient and ULX-D®, plus two other major brands,” he says. “Everything had to come together quickly and accurately, so I flew to Miami to set up the demo. Being that Lenny and Alex are such great clients, we really wanted to offer every level of support possible.”

Axient was the system that Alex Alvarez had his eye on from the start. “I had heard about it, both from Shure and from other guitar techs,” he notes. “The fact that it can detect interference and change frequencies on its own made it really attractive to me, but I knew that if the sound wasn’t perfect to Lenny’s ears, he would just stick with his cable. But since we already use Shure PSM® 1000 in-ears, I figured it was worth a try.”

The first day of rehearsals, Kravitz was not available, so his longtime guitarist and writing partner, Craig Ross, did the initial testing. “Craig really liked the sound and said, ‘Man, Lenny’s got to approve this.’ So we set up two more units for Lenny to check out the next day, and he was very impressed with both the sound and the technology. It turned out to be an easy decision.”

Asked to comment on his adoption of the Shure Axient guitar system, Lenny Kravitz stated, “After 25 years of resisting wireless systems, I am finally free from my beloved cables without sacrificing the organic tone of my guitar and amplifiers.”

Being Axient certified, Tour Supply’s Lance Wascom took on the task of educating the production crew on the system’s extensive monitoring, control, and frequency management capabilities. Along with Alex Alvarez, Wascom conferred with monitor engineer Josh Mellottsi on how to best integrate the new systems into the Kravitz backline.

“I love the technology,” says Wascom. “Axient tends to blow people’s minds. To see their reaction as it switches channels by itself, and to see how excited the monitor engineer gets when you coordinate all their frequencies in less than a minute… it’s just a lot of fun! It’s especially gratifying to know that you’re making an impact on the crew’s day-to-day workload. Frequency coordination and monitoring can be time consuming and stressful. Axient automates much of this, which saves time and allows the guys to focus on other tasks. In that sense, Axient can be as much as a ‘win’ for the crew as it is for the band.”

While the three Axient receivers sit in racks atop each of the guitar and bass rigs, the tour’s total wireless package is networked together and operated from Mellottsi’s monitor position. Frequency coordination is handled through Axient Spectrum Manager and Shure’s Wireless Workbench® software. Each day, Mellottsi scans for available frequencies and deploys them through the system.

“Between microphones, in-ears, and now guitars, we have so many frequencies that it’s best to have one person manage it all,” says Alvarez. “Of course, what I like best about Axient is that it always has spare frequencies ready to deploy in case there’s a problem. I remember the first time the system changed frequencies on the fly, and nobody noticed anything on stage. Very awesome.”

Alvarez is also very enthused about Shure’s rechargeable battery system, which is used for the six Axient transmitters as well as the band’s 11 channels of Shure PSM 1000 in-ears. “That’s another huge saving grace,” he enthused. “We get far more time out of a full charge than alkalines, and the system actually monitors remaining life down to the minute, so there are no surprises. We used to spend $10,000 in batteries for each leg of a major tour, so it’s not just the responsible thing to do, but they also pay for themselves.”

Having used the system on the Lenny Kravitz Strut tour of Europe, Alex Alvarez reports the Shure Axient guitar systems have been a total success. “We’ve literally had zero technical problems with the system,” he reports. “But with Lenny, it always comes back to the sound. He wouldn’t go wireless unless the system didn’t change what he’s worked so hard to sound like. Shure Axient does that for him.”

¡Regresa a Chile! En el marco de su gira internacional "Blue Electric Light Tour 2024" , este lunes se confirmó la llegada del compositor, productor y multiinstrumentista, Lenny Kravitz , a nuestro país.

Así como lees, el intérprete de "Again", ya está preparando motores para reencontrarse con su fanaticada nacional, donde presentará sus grandes éxitos y melodías de su duodécimo álbum de estudio "Blue Electric Light".

Sobre el artista

Considerado uno de los músicos de rock más destacados de nuestro tiempo, Lenny Kravitz ha trascendido géneros, estilos, razas y clases a lo largo de más de tres décadas de carrera.

Este año fue honrado con una estrella en el Paseo de la Fama de Hollywood , el “Premio al Ícono de la Música” en los People’s Choice Awards de 2024 y el “Premio al Ícono de la Moda".

Adicionalmente, en el marco del estreno de su nuevo álbum, en LOS40 estuvimos conversando con el artista. Donde comentó detalles de su último proyecto sonoro y reveló en exclusiva que regresaría a nuestro país dentro de poco.

"Mi música soy yo, así que lo que escuchas en la música es quién soy, como me siento, lo estoy reflejando. Así que claro, me siento agradecida de la vida. Nunca me he sentido tanto espiritual como físicamente así, así que siento que se está reflejando en la música", expresó el cantante.

"Me verán pronto, y te veré pronto", agregó el artista a Joce Acuña.

Lenny Kravitz Sends a Message of Love and Light With ‘Blue Electric Light’

On May 24, 2024, Lenny Kravitz released his 12th studio album “ Blue Electric Light .” Influenced by soul, rock and funk, this album combines elements of all of those genres and turns it into what can only be defined as the Lenny Kravitz sound.

Talking with Zane Lowe for an Apple Music interview , Kravitz explained that this album was born out of the self-reflective time of the COVID-19 pandemic quarantine. Locked down in the Bahamas with nothing to do but reflect on the past, life and what really matters, Kravitz found himself revisiting his teenage years.

“This is the record I didn’t make as a teenager before ‘Let Love Rule,’” he stated .

In honor of incorporating this reflection on the past with the wisdom of the present day, Kravitz included two songs that he wrote in high school that were rediscovered from old cassette tapes a friend gave to him. These two songs, combined with the new ones he created during quarantine, create an album that celebrates the human experience and sends a message of love and light.

Amplifying Love

Kravitz also expressed during his interview with Zane Lowe that his intention with this album was to send a message of love and light.

“As far as I’m concerned, my music is to amplify love. That’s it,” he states . Sticking with this theme, most of the tracks are slow, smooth, passionate and intimate love songs, including the title track “ Blue Electric Light .”

“ Stuck in the Middle ” is another slow, smooth love song but also talks about the theory of love. The lyrics tell the story of someone who has truly found their soulmate, discussing elements of the theory of past-life lovers reunited.

“ Bundle of Joy ” is a more upbeat love song, capturing the giddy feeling of excitement in a new relationship.

“ Spirit in My Heart ” is a song expressing appreciation for a romantic partner and how their love makes them a better person. This song is the personal, more intimate version of the overall message of the album, which is that spreading love and light makes the world a better place.

Sending a Message of Love and Light

The other songs on this album also amplify love, but it’s a more general love for the whole of humankind.

“ It’s Just Another Fine Day (In This Universe of Love) ” talks about how love looked different during the COVID-19 quarantine and how separation and social distance made sharing and connection harder.

“ Heaven ” discusses the disbelief over all the fighting in the world. The lyrics, “I just can’t believe that we cannot live together,” and “How can it be that we are not free from terror?” express disappointment with humankind. Although disappointed, the track isn’t sad but rather upbeat and hopeful that positive change will occur.

Kravitz stated that this was one of the songs he wrote in high school , however, given all the horrific attacks that have occurred in the past few years against various humans all over the world, the message is still extremely relevant today.

Despite starting on a more serious note, his perspective on humankind isn’t negative. “ Human ” is a song that celebrates the imperfections of the human experience. With lyrics like “I am here to be human,” Kravitz shares a message of letting go of what everyone else thinks, all that internalized stigma and fear of judgment, and just living how you want to live.
