"Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed." Eagles announce UK and Netherlands dates as part of their Long Goodbye final world tour

Eagles have added a special three-night residency in Manchester to their final ever tour

The Eagles have added a special mini-residency in Manchester's new Co Op Live Arena as part of their final world tour - dubbed The Long Goodbye. The rock legends will play three separate shows at the venue this coming summer, marking their first announced European dates of 2024. The trio of Manchester shows will be followed by a stop-off in the Netherlands, where The Eagles will play Gelredome in Arnhem.

The band are currently in the middle of the North American leg of the Long Goodbye tour, which continues from next month and wraps up in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 16.

Speaking about their final tour, the band have stated:

“The Eagles have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe; keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals and setbacks of many kinds. Credit and thanks go to our longtime management team, our dedicated road crew, and our exceptional backup musicians for providing skilled and steadfast support, throughout these many years. We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful. 

"Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle. The official farewell tour is currently underway. We want to give all our fans a chance to see us on this final round.  So, scheduling information will be released as dates are set. The difficulties of booking venues for multiple nights may require us to return to certain cities, depending on demand.  But, we hope to see as many of you as we can, before we finish up. Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”

During a four-night run at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif. in early January, the veteran rock group paid homage to the venue they first played in 1975, while also offering tributes to some fallen comrades they’ve lost along the way.

“It’s good to be back here at the Forum,” singer Henley said at one of the gigs. “We consider the Forum to be our home field. … They’ve improved the place a lot since then. Remember all those ugly yellow and orange seats?” he joked about the different color scheme when the Lakers played at the Forum before moving to Staples Center in 1999. The 21-song set also featured nods to late bandmates Glenn Frey and Randy Meisner, as well as their “dear friend” Jimmy Buffett via Henley’s 1984 solo hit “The Boys of Summer,” a fitting tribute to the beach life-loving “Margaritaville” singer who died in September 2023.

Eagles Reveal Final Tour May Run Through 2025

After more than 50 years, the Eagles will close the chapter on their touring days with their The Long Goodbye Final Tour. The tour will kick off in the fall of 2023, and dates are expected to run through 2025.

“The Eagles have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe, keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals, and setbacks of many kinds,” said the band in a statement. “Credit and thanks go to our longtime management team, our dedicated road crew, and our exceptional backup musicians for providing skilled and steadfast support, throughout these many years. We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful. Our long-run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle.”

Still in its planning stages, according to the band, with more dates possibly added on at a later date, the 12-date tour will feature Steely Dan .

The final tour, featuring the Eagles’ Don Henley , Joe Walsh , and Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, is currently scheduled to start on Sept. 7 at Madison Square Garden in New York City and go through several major cities within the U.S. before wrapping up on Nov. 14 in Lexington, Kentucky.

“We want to give all our fans a chance to see us on this final round,” said the Eagles. “So, scheduling information will be released as dates are set. Eagles make official 2024 Sphere announcement

A fter months of speculation, the Eagles are heading to the Las Vegas Sphere in 2024. The band officially announced a residency for fall 2024.

In a social media post, the Eagles made the announcement. The outside of the Sphere is shown with the band’s logo and the Joshua Tree desert in the background. A live performance of “Hotel California” is playing in the background.

Only eight shows will be played during the residency. However, as both U2 and Dead and Company have shown, that can be extended. If there is enough demand, surely they will be back.

“The Eagles have announced a residency at SPHERE in Las Vegas featuring eight shows over four exclusive weekends from Friday, Sept. 20 through Saturday, Oct. 19,” the announcement read.

Ticket pre-sales will occur on June 18 at 10 am PT. Registration is open on the band’s official website . Tickets will go on sale to the public on June 21 at 10 am PT.

It’s all a bit of a loophole. The Eagles are about to wrap up what they called their final tour, “The Long Goodbye” tour. However, a Las Vegas residency at the Sphere isn’t touring .

Currently, the Eagles’ lineup consists of original members Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit. Vince Gill and Steuart Smith join them for tours. Deacon Frey, the son of the late Glenn Frey, is a part of the touring band as well. Presumably, all of them will be back for the Las Vegas residency.

Who are the Eagles?

The Eagles formed in 1971 and are one of the most iconic rock bands of all time. After disbanding in 1980, the band reformed in 1994 until 2016. After guitarist and singer Glenn Frey passed away in 2016, the band went on another hiatus. Since 2017, a new version of the band has regrouped and they have been a live act since.

In 2023, the band began their final concert tour, “The Long Goodbye.” It commenced with a show in Madison Square Garden in New York, New York, on September 7, 2023.

Currently, the band is playing a European leg of the tour. The final show of that leg will take place on June 13 with a show in Arnhem, Netherlands.

This gives the Eagles a few months to rehearse ahead of their Las Vegas Sphere residency. It is unknown what the theme of their shows will be. Perhaps they will play a similar setlist to their “Long Goodbye” tour.

Having seen the desert imagery that U2 utilized during their shows, it’s possible they follow suit. The Eagles’ songs lend themselves to desert landscapes. Even the promotional images for the residency indicate that.

The Eagles will follow U2, Phish, and Dead and Company as the fourth band to play the Sphere. U2 opened the venue on September 29, 2023, and played a 40-show residency through March 2, 2024. Phish then played four shows in April before Dead and Company took over.

Dead and Company are in the midst of a 30-show residency at the Sphere. It will conclude on August 10, 2024, a little over a month before the Eagles get the keys.

The Eagles at the Las Vegas Sphere: Dates, ticket info

If you missed your chance to see the l egends at Acrisure Arena in January , The Eagles’ long and winding road to goodbye will go through Las Vegas this fall.

The band will become the fourth act to play the snazzy Sphere when their farewell tour, The Long Goodbye , pulls into the venue for eight dates: Sept. 20-21; Sept. 27-28; Oct. 11-12 and Oct. 18-19.

Tickets for the shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. Pacific June 21 at eagles.com. Tickets start at $175 (all-in pricing).

Registration for the band's presale is available now on the Eagles' site. The presale begins at 10 a.m. Pacific June 18, while a Live Nation presale starts at 10 a.m. Pacific June 20. A limited number of VIP packages will also go on sale at 10 a.m. Pacific June 18 on the band's website.

The Eagles playing the Sphere hasn’t been the best-kept secret . In May, James Dolan, executive chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment Co., mentioned on an earnings call the Eagles would be the next act to explore the creative and visual opportunities that come with playing the nine-month-old venue.

The band, which kicked off its farewell tour in September, will follow rapturously received residencies by U2, who christened the venue last fall, Phish and, currently, Dead & Company .

The Grateful Dead offshoot band fronted by Bob Weir and including John Mayer and Mickey Hart, are in the midst of a recently expanded 30-date run that will wrap Aug. 10.

All three of the acts who have parked at the Sphere have captivated crowds with awe-inspiring visual elements – rolling video that makes the room feel as if it’s moving, band images incorporated into TV sets, walls of backstage passes that envelop the inside of the venue – projected onto the 160,000-square-foot LED screen that wraps the interior.

The Eagles , currently touring Europe, have a set list stocked with their more laid-back hits in the first half (“Take it Easy,” “One of These Nights,” “Take it To the Limit”) that builds to rollicking rockers including “Life in the Fast Lane” and “Already Gone” as the show continues.

As expected, the  Eagles  have announced a residency at Sphere in Las Vegas , featuring eight shows over four weekends, from Sept. 20 through Oct. 19. The general on-sale will begin June 21 at 10 a.m. PT.

The engagement follows residencies at the new venue by U2, Phish and Dead & Company.

The Eagles have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, scored six No. 1 albums, and topped the singles charts five times. They earned six Grammy Awards, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, in their first year of eligibility, and received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2016.

The group launched its “ Long Goodbye” farewell tour last fall.

Where to watch France vs. Austria: Euro 2024 live stream online, TV channel, prediction, start time, odds

France come into UEFA Euro 2024 as the favorites to lift the title as Didier Deschamps' men open their tournament against Austria on Monday. Les Bleus fell short in 2020  after going to the final on home soil in 2016. This time the French will go again with superstar Kylian Mbappe now leading the way as captain. Ralf Rangnick and his Austrian side stand in the way, though, and this opening meeting in Düsseldorf could set the tone for how tricky Group D could actually be for France .

For now, Deschamps' squad has a relatively clean bill of health, and has not been dealt injury blows to the level of severity that all of his opposite numbers have. Rangnick has been deprived of David Alaba while Poland are now without Robert Lewandowski for at least one or two games and Frenkie de Jong as well as Teun Koopmeiners are the latest absences for the Netherlands. Les Bleus, admittedly, is the one nation in world soccer that you would expect to handle any injury crisis fairly well.

With the big clash with Oranje in Leipzig coming in game two before facing the Polish Eagles in Dortmund to close Group D, the French cannot afford to slip up here. Austria have the potential to be tricky customers, but pre-tournament will be expected to scrap with Poland for third place. If they can get off to a solid start and perhaps avoid defeat, the pressure could be on whoever comes off worse in the second game.

One of this Euro's most attractive groups features two powerhouses of European soccer in France and Netherlands. Two of world soccer's leading talent producers have been vying for top-five status in the UEFA coefficient for the past few years with Ligue 1 pulling clear of the Eredivisie this past season. The French and the Dutch face two tricky sides, though, with Ralf Rangnick's Austria and a Poland side with a few quality pieces despite their general inability to translate that appearance on paper into on-field results. Almost everyone will expect Les Bleus and Oranje to advance as the top two here, but which potential order is yet to be decided and both will know that they cannot afford to slip up against either the Austrians nor the Poles before facing each other in the second round of games.

Austria: With the exception of Germany-based pair Stefan Lainer -- who misses out despite his 39 caps -- and Xaver Schlager with his 43, Rangnick has sprung few surprises in his selections for the tournament roster. David Alaba is a huge miss but the Real Madrid man remains far from full fitness so that was expected. Otherwise, seven squad members ply their trade in Austria domestically and experienced key men Marko Arnautovic and Marcel Sabitzer are present with the Borussia Dortmund man skipper.

Possible Austria XI: Lindner; Lienhart, Daniliuc, Trauner, Mwene; Seiwald, Laimer; Baumgartner, Kainz, Schmidt; Gregoritsch.

France: With only one enforced injury-related absence in Lucas Hernandez, Deschamps has had pretty much an unimpeded selection process which has seen N'Golo Kante make a surprise return. This is the last call for Olivier Giroud who will retire after the tournament while Antoine Greizmann is the second most experienced player in this group. Mbappe is now captain and will return to the starting XI after being rested for the majority of the Canada draw but his rustiness could be a point of concern for Deschamps. This is Mike Maignan's first tournament as the undisputed No. 1 while William Saliba will hope to start the tournament and make himself a fixture with Les Bleus.

Possible France XI: Maignan; Kounde, Upamecano, Saliba, Hernandez; Camavinga, Rabiot; Dembele, Griezmann, Mbappe; Giroud.

Although a narrow one-goal win would not be surprising, France should have too much for Austria and will likely get the job done fairly comfortably. Expect Mbappe to hit the ground running with a goal or two as the French start as they mean to go on. Pick: Austria 0, France 2.

There is now less than a month to go until UEFA EURO 2024 kicks off with hosts Germany facing Scotland in Munich on 14 June, and the trophy tour has come to an end after its journey through all ten host cities.

Starting in Stuttgart and making its way through western Germany, the trophy tour then moved east to the capital, Berlin, and Leipzig. It then made its way north to Hamburg, before a final trip all the way south to Munich, wrapping up on 14 May.

Celebrations in the capital

Kicking off the final leg of the tour was a visit to Berlin, where the trophy arrived at the main railway station and was met by 2014 World Cup winner Sami Khedira as part of a Deutsche Bahn welcome event.

It was later presented at the Rotes Rathaus, Berlin’s town hall, by mayor Kai Wegner and mascot Albärt, with tournament director Philipp Lahm also in attendance. A media event at the Olympiastadion – home to six EURO 2024 matches, including the final – followed, where Lahm and Wegner took part in a panel discussion alongside other local guests, including host city ambassador Kevin-Prince Boateng.

The next day, the trophy was paraded through the capital and took in all its sights, including the Reichstag building, Oberbaum Bridge and Berlin's cathedral. Albärt accompanied the trophy on its journey around the city, and fans were given the chance to take photos with him and the silverware when it stopped outside the Brandenburg Gate.

The Berlin leg ended with a football tournament for local youth teams at the Lichterfelde stadium, organised by the Berlin Football Association and FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin, with the children getting to meet Albärt and see the iconic cup.

Leipzig and Hamburg host the trophy

From Berlin, the cup travelled to Leipzig, where it embarked on a photo tour of the city, including the Battle of the Nations Monument, Leipzig Zoo and Leipzig Stadium, which will host four matches during the tournament, including a huge Group D clash between Netherlands and France.

The zoo was the focus of the second day in Leipzig, with mayor Burkhard Jung meeting Lahm for a public trophy presentation and media event.

The penultimate leg of the trophy tour was in Hamburg, where festivities kicked off with a photo tour through the city. Stops included Heiligengeistfeld, home to the city’s fan zone, which will be showing every match live, and the Miniature Wonderland museum, where a specially created EURO-branded Volksparkstadion was on display.

While the trophy was in Hamburg, the city was celebrating the 835th Hamburg Port anniversary, with 1.5 million people visiting over four spectacular days of maritime shows, open-air concerts and firework shows. On Saturday 11 May, the Henri Delaunay Cup was on display at the festival, where fans were able to take photos with the silverware.

One month to go in Munich

Nearly two months after the festivities began in Stuttgart, the trophy tour came to a special conclusion in Munich on 13 and 14 May, marking one month to go until the opening match of EURO 2024.

On the first day, the trophy took a ride on the Ferris wheel with Albärt before visiting Munich Football Arena – set to host six EURO 2024 matches – where it was met by host city ambassador and elite referee Felix Brych for a media event. Next was the town hall and a photo stop with Lahm and Munich mayor Dieter Reiter.

The day ended with two football-focused events as the Olympiastadion involving children from local football clubs, who will receive 800 new balls as part of the Footballs for Clubs campaign. That was followed by a pro-am tournament on a rooftop mini-pitch at Bellevue di Monaco Dachbolzplatz, with Lahm and other special guests taking part in a panel discussion.

The final day of the trophy tour took place at Munich’s Stadium of Dreams, a cultural and theatre venue that will host football-themed performances and concerts by local artists throughout EURO 2024. Located in the Fat Cat cultural centre, fans were welcomed throughout the day for photos with the famous cup.

After ten stops in 53 days, the trophy tour is over, with fans across the country treated to an early taste of the tournament. The countdown is now well and truly on for the opening match between Germany and Scotland on 14 June .
