City of Wichita provides another update on cyber security incident, expect billing statements

W ICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The City of Wichita has provided another update on the cyber security incident that took place at the beginning of May.

“The City of Wichita reports that recovery efforts following the recent cyber security incident are progressing well,” the City said. “Most public-facing systems are now back in service with some limited exceptions.”

Customers should expect to receive updated billing statements this week as water metering, billing, and payment processing systems are coming back online.

Customers should now have access to their online utility accounts.

Auto-payments are working as usual. Bills may also be paid by credit card, cash, check or money order by going to City Hall, accessing your account online , calling 265-1300 or by mail.

Due to the cyber security incident, some June bills will be for more than 60 days of service.

If a payment arrangement is needed, you can call a representative at 265-1300, who will set up a payment plan for you.

Answers to commonly asked questions about water bill payments can be found online .

The Wichita Public Library has wifi available at every location, as well as Libby and the ability to check in and out materials manually. All currently available services can be found online .

The Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport is expected to have public flight and gate display information soon.

The Municipal Court is expected to have public search warrants online Monday. The city says although most court systems are online, they are encouraging residents to call 268-4345 to verify information regarding court dates, fees or any other information.

All other resident-facing systems should be functioning. Check wichita.gov/alert for system updates.

Wichita’s Information Technology team is continuing to work to remediate all remaining system outages.
