Complete Guide: Port of Boston Cruise Parking & Hotels

Last Updated on August 20, 2021 by Nabila

Ever since 2004, we have been helping passengers in finding secure parking options that meet any requirements. Thanks to our long experience, we have made a  parking reservation  process so simple that you can reserve a discounted Boston Cruise parking spot online within minutes! We offer clear and upfront pricing, reviews, and a guide on how and where to park or stay near Boston Cruise Port.

Flynn Cruiseport Boston

Originally known as Raymond L. Flynn Black Falcon Cruise Terminal, Flynn Cruiseport is a popular Boston port visited by half a million passengers each year from April to November. If you plan a cruise from this port and want to leave your car there during that time, knowing what to expect will save you a lot of time. So, we will provide an extensive list of everything you need to know about Boston Cruise Parking and the port itself.

Boston Cruiseport is located at 1 Black Falcon Avenue, Boston, MA 02210— use this address for driving directions. Note that you should arrive at least two hours before departure. That way, you will have enough time to park your car, board a free shuttle, and go through security.

The closest airport to the cruise port is Boston Logan International Airport —it’s a 10-minute drive away. The fastest transfer between Logan Airport and CruisePort is a water taxi, but you can check out other transportation options , too.

Boston Cruise Parking

Boston Cruise Terminal offers safe and close-in parking, and you can choose between uncovered and covered parking structures. Parking rates depend on a parking service—see your options below.

After dropping your luggage, head to the South Boston Waterfront Transportation Center. Its parking garage is placed at 406 Summer Street, and it’s the most convenient parking option. Car parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but we suggest making an advanced reservation. Shuttle service to and from Flynn Cruiseport Boston Cruise Terminal is available, too. If the transportation center garage is full, you will be directed to the EDIC parking lot, which is situated at 12 Drydock Avenue.

Both Boston Cruise parking areas accept cash, Visa, and MasterCard. The rates are listed below.

Accessible Parking

Boston Cruise Parking offers a limited number of handicapped parking spaces in both parking structures. A parking discount for disabled veterans isn’t available at the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal.

Cell Phone Lot

The port’s cell phone lot is a convenient parking area for those waiting to pick up arriving cruise passengers. It is located at 22 Fid Kennedy Avenue, very close to the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal. The lot is open whenever any cruise arrives at Flynn Cruiseport Boston Cruise Terminal.

Boston Cruiseport cell phone lot map

Cruise Parking Near Black Falcon Cruise Terminal

Official cruise parking is not the only option, but you don’t have many other possibilities. If looking for a cheaper alternative, you should know that there are no inexpensive parking locations nearby.

The only cheaper option is the  Government Center Garage  and their Park ‘n Stay Package. It provides parking at $15 per day for those who want to park their cars for 3-30 days. However, you would have to use a taxi or Uber to the port of Boston since this parking garage is about 2.5 miles away.

Don’t use street parking for stays longer than a couple of hours if you wish to avoid getting a Boston parking ticket .

Boston Hotels With Cruise Parking Deals

If you want to come a day before your cruise embarkation, there’s another parking option for you. Some Boston hotels in the area offer Cruise Packages that provide free parking for up to 1 or 2 weeks and a complimentary shuttle bus service to the cruise port. So, you can get a good night’s rest and start your harbor cruise vacation in the morning worry-free knowing that your car is in a safe place.

Reach out to one of the best Boston Cruise hotels, such as Comfort Inn Boston , which offers free parking for the duration of your trip and shuttles to the port between 4 AM and 1 AM. If you choose this deal, you’ll have time to explore the city and check out Boston’s top attractions!

Boston City Guide

One of the best ways of checking out the downtown area is via the Freedom Trail, a long route that passes by over 15 historic sites. Nearby is the Boston Common park, a great place for relaxation and long walks, as well as Faneuil Hall Marketplace with numerous stores and a promenade.

Those interested in art should visit the huge Museum of Fine Arts. South Boston offers a beautiful peninsula called Castle Island – it is an ideal place for recreation, jogging, or picnic. Sports lovers who want to check out a Red Sox baseball game must go to Boston’s Fenway Park .

Guide to Boston Cruise Parking

With tens of millions of people within a few hours of driving to the Port of Boston, many people choose to take their car to reach the cruise terminal. Of course, driving to the port brings up another question — what to do with your car while you are sailing.

As you can imagine, parking in Boston, especially near the city center has the potential to be tough. Your options are somewhat limited for cruise parking.

And what you don’t want to do is try to skimp and find street parking in the port area. Not only are you unlikely to find it, but leaving your car on the city street while you cruise for an extended period is asking for trouble.

Instead, we suggest you use the BRA-EDIC (Boston Redevelopment Authority-Economic Development Industrial Corporation) Marine Industrial Park Garage. The garage is the official port parking, caters to cruise passengers and is located just steps from the cruise terminal.

boston-cruise-parking-map

The parking garage address is 12 Dry Dock Ave., South Boston, MA 02210

Parking costs $25 a day for cruise passengers (be sure to bring some sort of proof that you are headed on the cruise). A week’s parking for your cruise is $170 and it’s $200 for 10-14 days. Considering the location and the expense of parking in the city, that’s a pretty good deal. You might be able to find cheaper lots farther from the port, but remember that you will have the added expense of transportation to the port from those locations.

Here’s what the garage looks like, so you’ll know when you’ve arrived:

Boston cruise parking garage

Payment is accepted in either cash, Mastercard or Visa. There are no reservations accepted, but there should be plenty of room in the garage. If you have any questions, you can contact the garage at (617) 482-2487.

In addition, there is also an open-air lot (called the C1 lot) . It’s just west of the cruise terminal on the same side of the street. Pricing is the same as parking in the garage, and the walk is about the same distance.

We used this facility and I paid for indoor parking but was refused entry and instead was sent to the outside parking. The company acknowledged a mistake had been made but refused to give me a partial refund on my credit card. Instead they offered me a credit toward future parking, but it is only valid for one year. It is unlikely that I will be in the area in that time, so the credit is useless!

6 Top Boston Harbor Cruises

Venture on the water to explore Beantown's waterfront, maritime history and more.

Exterior shot of the Boston Odyssey on the water with the Boston skyline in the background.

Courtesy of City Cruises by Hornblower

Boston is the most populous city in New England – and for good reason. This Massachusetts metropolis may host modern shopping, dining and cultural attractions , but Boston is built upon a rich American tapestry created over the centuries that's still visible in its quaint neighborhood streets and stone houses. The city's historic harbor along the Massachusetts Bay set the scene for a significant portion of Boston's story; once the site of Revolution-era protests like the Boston Tea Party, this body of water is now primarily used for revelry. No visit to Massachusetts' capital city would be complete without some time on Boston Harbor.

If you'll be in Beantown during the warmer months, consider boarding a schooner for an hour or two of sightseeing. Cruises on the harbor offer a range of historical tours, romantic dinners, unique brunches with friends or even the chance to spot some endangered whales. Whether you opt for a tall ship or a smaller vessel, soak in city views and enjoy your time on the water with the following top Boston Harbor cruises.

Boston Harbor City Cruises by Hornblower – Boston Harbor Whale Watch Cruise

Price: Adults from $70; kids from $50 Duration: 3-4 hours

Hornblower's City Experiences brand offers a wide variety of land-based and on-the-water tours. One of the most popular options is its whale watching cruise, which it operates with the New England Aquarium . From Boston's Central Wharf, you'll head to Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, one of the world's most active marine sanctuaries. Whales in the region include humpbacks, minke whales, the endangered right whales and more. You can also try to spot sea birds, dolphins and other marine life. Travelers say the boat tour is great fun and most report seeing whales on the trip.

Tours generally run daily from spring through fall. Exact departure times vary by season. You'll want to arrive at least 15 minutes early and take some medication if you're prone to motion sickness. If you plan to pair this cruise with a trip to the aquarium, you can book a combo ticket to save a bit of money. Boston Harbor City Cruises also runs a variety of dinner cruises.

Check prices & availability on:

Liberty Fleet of Tall Ships – Boston Harbor Day Sail

Price: Adults from $55; kids from $35

Duration: 90 minutes

Board a schooner from the Liberty Fleet of Tall Ships and sail Boston's historic harbor in fitting style. Your tour begins by embarking on the Liberty Star, which boasts a 76-foot mast. The crew is happy to answer questions about Boston during the sail, but know that there is no narration during the tour. Travelers delight in both the tour and the boat, noting excellent views.

The fleet sails Boston Harbor from summer through early fall. Sails typically depart several times each day in the afternoon; however, specific times may vary depending on the day of the week. You can also hop onboard for a brunch cruise, a fireworks cruise or for the yearly USS Constitution turnaround sail.

Classic Harbor Line Boston – Northern Lights Sunset Cruise

A Classic Harbor Line Boston boat sails against the sunset.

Courtesy of Classic Harbor Line Boston

Price: From $45 Duration: 2 hours

Along this evening tour, you'll be treated to skyline views as the sun dips below the horizon. During the journey, you'll also learn a little about Boston's history and its best sites such as Fort Independence, the USS Constitution , Old North Church's steeple and more. Refreshments are available for purchase onboard. Travelers approve of the cruise – especially the gorgeous ship – and its staff.

Departure times and days vary depending on both the sunset and the season. Keep in mind that ticket fees will be slightly higher in the high season. The company also hosts a number of themed and food cruises, such as holiday cruises and a trip that focuses on beer and barbecue.

Boston Duck Tours

Price: Adults from $52.99; kids from $37.99

Duration: 80 minutes

It's nearly impossible to visit Boston and not run into one of its renowned Duck Tours. This type of amphibious automobile was originally created as a military vehicle for World War II. The vehicles used today by Boston Duck Tours are uniquely designed to roll past city sights like Boston Common , the Old North Church and the Fanueil Hall Marketplace before or after launching into the Charles River for views of the Cambridge and Boston skylines. Past customers remember these unique tours as one of the best parts of their visit – and as a special draw for kids, the tour guides may allow children to briefly steer the boat in the water for a particularly memorable experience.

Trips depart from the New England Aquarium, Museum of Science and the Prudential Center; tour prices are the same regardless of departure point. Tours run in the warmer months, usually from late spring to fall. It's a good idea to book online in advance to secure your preferred tour time.

Massachusetts Bay Lines – Boston Harbor Moonlight Cruises

A Massachusetts Bay Lines boat on the water.

Courtesy of Massachusetts Bay Lines

Price: Adults from $28; kids from $15 Duration: 90 minutes

Referred to locally as Mass Bay Lines, this company runs an after dark cruise that travelers say has excellent views of the city lit up. If you're in need of refreshment, you'll find drinks (including alcohol) and snack onboard for purchase. For an extra special evening, sign up for a Full Moon Cruise, which takes place once per month from May to October.

Tours run a few times a month and generally start at 9 p.m. The company also runs daytime harbor cruises and themed cruises that welcome dogs onboard.

Charles Riverboat Company – Charles River Sightseeing Tours

Price: Adults from $27; kids from $18 Duration: 70 minutes

After cruising through the harbor, why not explore another Boston waterway? Along the historic sightseeing cruise of the Charles River, you'll see some of Cambridge's best sights like Harvard University and MIT , as well as Boston University, and the Back Bay neighborhood. The crew will offer tidbits and trivia during the tour. Tourgoers enjoy the outing and several mention that the company is great if booking a private charter for a large party.

Tours run late May though the end of September at 12:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m. If you wish to explore the Boston Harbor and the Charles River in the same trip, consider signing up for the company's Architecture Tour.

Can anyone give suggestions for parking at Boston terminal.  In 2018 we found a parking garage that provided a shuttle to the ship.

We park in a lot that is right in front of the ship. It is a short walk to the terminal from there. Sometimes my husband drops me off with the luggage then parks, and sometimes we park and walk over together.

Car service we have use in the past went under during covid, looking at alternative ideas. There will be five of us this year and every Ser ice is telling us two vehicles that will run us 250.00 each way 😟 . Will keep looking, thanks in advance.

You can show up at the lot without a reservation, the cost per day is more. With that said, it's actually cheaper once you take into account the convenience fee charged by the vendor 🙂

The lot is 5 minutes away. There are two shuttles. The pretty much go every 15 minutes, or once the shuttle is full. It's really not a big deal.

I believe the garage is discouraging cruise parking due to the increase in commercial business in the port requiring parking. There is the lot in front of the ship, but I have no information on it. I cruised twice out of Boston last year and parked in the offsite lot each time. Both times were safe, easy, and no issue. My only complaint, if I had one, is that the shuttle parks all the way at the end of the terminal. So you have to walk the entire length of the terminal to turn in luggage, and then double back to get in line.

What a lot of people report doing is dropping off luggage and the others at the cruise terminal and then only one or two people go to the parking lot.  That way you avoid having to lug the luggage on the shuttle.  According to google maps its about a 10 min walk and a 7 min drive on the shuttle.

We went out of Boston a few years back (pre-pandemic) and found the parking convenient and easy. I've been trying to book for an upcoming April cruise but am getting all sorts of wonky info - the address they say the lot is at is not the same as the lot on the map, the price they quote is different each time I input data, etc. The website has information for the 2022 cruise season but nothing for this year and my email to them for clarification has gone unanswered. Does anybody have good information on where the parking is and how much it costs?

We parked at cruise port and walked off with luggage easy peasy and on the masspike in a short time. Make sure you park under a roof area! As 4 cars up and onward covered with dropping from seagulls! Yuck!

When did you do this? We had a similar experience to yours but now when we look online the cruiseport is telling us that option is no longer available.

Massport Lot D3, 492 Summer Street is nearby and offers a free Shuttle. But the price is saying $266 for the week! We used this lot last year, it worked out great. The cost then was $176. That's a big jump. I have not had a response to multiple inquiries.

The parking Garage across the street from the Terminal does not seem to be available for cruisers?

1025Cruise I Agree. " I believe the garage is discouraging cruise parking due to the increase in commercial business in the port requiring parking"

Parking.com actually Shows Norwegian Pearl Event and parking is at 93 Fargot St. It does not mention a shuttle. $189 for the week

Suppose to be another Lot at the terminal, Cannot Book online as website is down and do not expect it to be up and working soon. Were told, just show up, there is plenty of parking. Hum, might this be where the Seagulls do their thing, Lot C1?

We ended up booking parking at 1 Black Falcon Ave. through Parking Whiz. It's costing us $185.50 per car. I'm expecting the seagulls will 'decorate' the car quite a bit. But we didn't have lots of great options so....

I was looking at parking in the C1 Lot at the bow of the ship.  Used that lot before and it's wicked handy.  One website says you need to make a reservation another makes no mention of making a reservation.  Then if you click the make reservation link, you can't get that one to show up.  Website's a mess.  Left an email yesterday, but haven't heard back yet.  Seagull poo doesn't really bother me as I work someplace with a lot of seagulls around, so my car always needs a bath.  IDK.  It's going to take me 3 hours to get down there, I'd like to have a plan on where I'm going to park.

Just Booked the parking. $189. for the week.

Thanks Jimsig -

Does anyone know if the oversized vehicle fee is charged at the lot at 1 Black Falcon Ave? If so, does anyone have an idea of what the fee is? My vehicle is a Chevy Equinox. Just wondering how much extra they may charge me checking in… Thanks!!

I do not know but the info should become available when you go to book it. ?\

This is very helpful but... the Holland America Zaandam sailing on May 20-27, 2023 isn't on the drop down list for the Fargo Lot, so I can't go any further. Any others with same experience???  thanks

I think only the round trip sailings are there. I believe the Zaandam is doing one-ways to/from Montreal so you would need to find alternate parking.

Besides the Zaandam doing the one-way Canada/NE cruises, it also has a round trip Boston cruise, and I believe it is the May 20th, 2023 sailing if I remember correctly.

Yes, May 20th is my sailing on the Zaandam (roundtrip from Boston) - after waiting a few weeks, it now appears on the drop-down list on parking.com for the 93 Fargo Lot but I keep getting kicked out of the reservation - I simulated a Friday departure on the NCL Pearl and it went to the next step...  Maybe not doing Saturday departures??  That's what I'm trying to determine - anyone with this same experience???

I would contact the parking company.

Hi margie1221, If you use the Park Whiz App on your phone you can book the C1 Lot which is the closest(3-4 min walk)lot of any to the ship and is available for your cruise for $175(+$12admin)for the week for your cruise on the HAL Zaandam on May 20. I will be parked there for the two weeks prior as I am on the b to b from Boston-Montreal-Boston and my cost was $212 total...Rob

Thanks

Breaking Down All Major Cruise Departure Ports In The U.S. And What Makes Each Unique

E xperience the explosive growth of the cruise industry firsthand as we explore the major departure ports in the United States. Don’t be left behind; join the millions of satisfied cruisers who have discovered the ultimate vacation experience. But we know that hopping on board can be intimidating, especially when choosing the right port, ship, and cruise line. That’s why I’m here to guide you through it all.

Starting in the North Atlantic and working our way down to the South Atlantic, including the bustling ports of Florida, we’ll cover everything you need to know. We’ll then move on to the Gulf of Mexico and, finally, the beautiful Pacific. Learn about several American ports, from suggestions on getting to the port to a detailed list of all the cruise lines that sail from each location.

But that’s not all — I’ll also highlight each port’s unique features and attractions so you can make the most of your vacation before and after embarking on your cruise. Get ready for a vacation that gives you the most bang for your buck — starting with the perfect departure port.

Buckle in and get your popcorn; this will be a long one.

North Atlantic

The North Atlantic region has quite a few ports. It primarily sails to Bermuda, New England, and Canada. However, they also do trans-Atlantic and other specialty cruises from a few ports.

Pro Tip : Always label and prepare your luggage for easy transport . When driving, simply drive to the cruise terminal and hand over your bags. No need to fret if you need tape or a stapler — the friendly baggage handlers will assist you. Remember to show appreciation by tipping them before parking or returning your car.

Boston Cruise Port – Raymond L. Flynn Black Falcon Terminal (Massachusetts)

Simplify your cruise parking experience at the Flynn Cruiseport in the Seaport District near Boston Harbor. Park easily at Congress Street parking or take a free shuttle from your hotel. Boston Logan International Airport is just a quick 10-minute drive away. The MBTA Silver Line bus stops within one block of the terminal for even more convenience.

Parking will cost you $27 per night.

Sailing From Here: Celebrity, Holland America , Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Seabourn

Points Of Interest: Boston Fish Pier, Fenway Park, Paul Revere House, Old North Church, Boston Children’s Museum, Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum.

Brooklyn Cruise Terminal (Red Hook Section, New York)

Discover the best cruise ports in New York. Brooklyn and Cape Liberty (in Bayonne, New Jersey) take center stage, with Manhattan playing a supporting role. As a premier cruise destination, New York offers voyages to Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond.

Parking at Brooklyn Cruise Port may seem challenging, but a constant flow of arrivals and departures keeps things moving. While the $45 daily fee offers stunning views of the Statue of Liberty, other convenient options are available, such as private taxis, Uber, shuttles, or the subway. For a unique experience, consider taking the train from Penn Station or Grand Central Station.

Sailing From Here: Cunard , MSC Cruises, Princess

Points Of Interest: Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Prospect Park

Fun Fact: Per CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association), most cruise passengers arrive in a port city a day in advance and spend nearly $400 per person on food, hotel, and transportation.

Cape Liberty Cruise Port (New Jersey)

Parking is slightly cheaper here than at Brooklyn’s cruise port and there are overflow lots during the busy season with free shuttles available. Cars run $30 per day and RVs $60.

Sailing From Here: Celebrity , Royal Caribbean

Points Of Interest: Teardrop Memorial, Hudson River Waterfront, The Mills at Jersey Gardens (outlet mall)

Port Of Baltimore (Maryland)

I find the Baltimore cruise port one of the most accessible places to embark in the country. Parking is $15 daily (cashless) and you can walk to the terminal after parking. There is also RV parking for $30–$40 daily, depending on the size of your rig. Royal Caribbean and Carnival both offer shuttles to and from BWI airport.

Sailing From Here: Carnival, Disney, Norwegian, Princess , Royal Caribbean

Points Of Interest: National Aquarium, Inner Harbor, Maryland Zoo, Fort McHenry National Monument & Historic Shrine

South Atlantic/Florida

Welcome to the sunniest region in the world, where cruise passengers flock in droves! With state-of-the-art terminals and buzzing activity, this destination offers an incredible array of choices. However, be prepared to master the art of patience, as navigating through crowds can be challenging. As someone who has been on 54 cruises, I can attest that more than half of my voyages have departed from these ports.

Port Canaveral (Orlando, Florida)

Prepare to be amazed! Contrary to popular belief, getting to Port Orlando (also known as Port Canaveral) requires a 48-minute drive, as Orlando is not on the coast. Despite the distance and expense of transportation (an Uber is $98), Port Orlando remains the country’s busiest and most powerful cruise port. Your best option is to take the cruise shuttle from Orlando (airport or hotel) to save the hassle of getting there, traffic, and parking fees. If you decide to drive, however, keep in mind that parking costs $17 per day, including RVs.

Sailing From Here: Carnival, Disney , MSC Cruises, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean

Points Of Interest: Kennedy Space Center , Exploration Tower, Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum (in Orlando), Disney, Universal, Lake Eola Park, Harry P. Leu Gardens

Port Of Miami (Florida)

Discover the colossal cruise port just minutes away from Fort Lauderdale. PortMiami is a bustling hub, welcoming an impressive average of 12 cruise ships daily and 4.1 million passengers annually. Boasting 11 cruise terminals, it is the second busiest cruise port in the country.

While you can park at the port for $22 a day, I highly recommend avoiding the chaos by opting for Uber or a hotel shuttle. With my 10 years of experience living in Florida, I found navigating the port’s parking confusing and lacking proper signage. Thankfully, there are much simpler alternatives to reaching your cruise ship.

But fear not! Despite the initial challenges, PortMiami (known as the Cruise Capital of the World ) is renowned for its efficiency and seamless operation. Like a finely tuned machine, they ensure a hassle-free experience from start to finish. Indulge in the modern marvel that is PortMiami and embark on your dream cruise effortlessly.

Pro Tip: It is important to park in the garage that coincides with your terminal letter (example: Cruise Terminal B — Multi-Level Garage B); though terminals F, G, and V all use Garage G.

Sailing From Here: Azamara Club, Carnival, Celebrity, Disney, MSC Cruises , Norwegian, Oceania, Regent Seven Seas , Royal Caribbean, Seabourn, Virgin Voyages

Points Of Interest: Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, Bayside Marketplace, Wynwood Walls, Little Havana, Jungle Island

Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale, Florida)

This one may throw you for a loop since Port Everglades is the cruise port you’ll want for departing out of Fort Lauderdale. It is only 3 miles from FLL/Hollywood Airport and 25 miles north of Miami International Airport. Uber or Lyft is your best bet and is relatively inexpensive. Secure parking at Port Everglades (4,000 spaces) runs $15 per day or $19 for oversized vehicles.

Sailing From Here: Carnival, Celebrity, Crystal Cruises , Cunard, Disney, Holland America, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Seabourn, Silversea, Viking Ocean

Points Of Interest: Las Olas Boulevard and Riverwalk, Bonnet House Museum & Gardens, Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, Everglades Holiday Park

Port Tampa Bay (Florida)

Tampa is a treat to sail out of, as the cruise terminal and port are well-marked and laid out. It is secure and monitored 24/7. Parking is $16 per day, or you can use Uber or Lyft for getting dropped off or picked up. Tampa International Airport is 21 minutes from the Port Tampa Bay Cruise Terminal or 90 minutes from Orlando (MCO).

Sailing From Here: Carnival, Royal Caribbean

Points Of Interest: Busch Gardens, The Florida Aquarium, Historic Ybor City

Port Of San Juan (Puerto Rico)

Discover why San Juan, Puerto Rico, is the ultimate destination for incredible cruise lines. From its advantageous Atlantic Ocean location to potential cost savings, this place is a true gem. If you’re planning a trip, I recommend arriving early and staying overnight to avoid airline hiccups.

While some hotels provide free shuttle services, taxis are readily available for a quick 8-mile journey to the cruise port. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to set sail from Old San Juan, which is a vacation before the cruise vacation begins.

Sailing From Here: Celebrity, Crystal, Disney, Norwegian, Oceania, Regent Seven Seas, Royal Caribbean, Silversea, Viking Ocean, Virgin Voyages

Points Of Interest: Castillo San Felipe del Morro , Old San Juan, Casa Blanca Museum, Fortaleza Street

Gulf Of Mexico

Discover hidden gems and unbeatable prices on Gulf of Mexico cruises! Escape the crowds and embark on an adventure from Galveston, New Orleans, and Mobile. Immerse yourself in vibrant cities and soak up the magic of the gulf. Don’t miss your chance to experience the best-kept secrets of these charming destinations! I plan to include these three embarkation ports in my cruising future over the next few months.

Mobile Alabama Cruise Terminal (Alabama)

While Carnival is the only cruise line that sails from Mobile, it is an excellent option for those seeking a quick vacation option between Texas and Florida. Parking will run you $18 daily, though the closest airport is Pensacola, Florida, an hour away. This is definitely a drive to the cruise port destination. Check out the Mobile Carnival Museum or the USS Alabama in your free time.

Port Of New Orleans (NOLA, Louisiana)

A boatload of ships departs the Port of NOLA, making it the 6th busiest cruise port in the country. It is in the heart of the city with a plethora of amazing things to see and do. It is also a port for the three major river cruises (my bucket list!), which adds a feature most cruise ports don’t offer. Parking runs $25 daily at the Erato and Julia Street terminals.

Sailing From Here: American Cruise Lines , American Queen Steamboat Co., Carnival, Disney, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Viking River Cruises

Points Of Interest: New Orleans City Park, Jackson Square, Mardi Gras World, French Quarter, St. Louis Cathedral, National WWII Museum

Port Of Galveston (Texas)

Discover Galveston — the vibrant heart of Texas and the state’s sole major port. With its convenient location, you’ll have easy access to all the city offers. Enjoy hassle-free parking for just $18 per day (discounts available for prepaying) and take advantage of the close proximity to the cruise terminal from the lots.

Port of Galveston’s only downside? The nearest major airport is 40 minutes away in Houston. However, worry not! Numerous shuttle services are available to whisk you directly to the cruise terminal.

Fun Fact: It is hard to believe that 2.2 million cruise passengers use this terminal annually.

Sailing From Here: Carnival, Disney, Royal Caribbean

Points Of Interest: Moody Gardens , Pleasure Pier, Seawall, The Strand

The cruise ports on the West Coast of the United States offer a wide range of fabulous cities, diverse weather, and opportunities for sailing around the area, trans-Pacific crossings, and specialty cruises.

Port Of San Diego (California)

Experience the beauty and convenience of the exceptional Port of San Diego . Getting to the port is a breeze, with various parking options and a convenient cruise ship shuttle from the airport. And that’s only some of it — many cruise lines even offer a complimentary pre-night hotel room.

I personally loved taking advantage of this option before setting sail from the Port of San Diego. Book your cruise now and let the cruise line shuttle take care of the rest. San Diego’s weather is exceptional year-round and the flights are relatively quicker and smoother than in other parts of California. I call this a stress-free cruise port.

Sailing From Here: Celebrity, Disney, Holland America, Norwegian , Princess

Points Of Interest: San Diego Zoo , Gaslamp Quarter, Balboa Park, USS Midway Museum.

Port Of Los Angeles (California)

Discover the luxury and cruise lines variety at World Cruise Center at Port of Los Angeles (actually in San Pedro, California). Arriving at this massive port is a breeze, whether driving a car or using transportation options like shuttles, taxis, or Uber. Parking is $20 per day.

Avoid the high cost of taxis and enjoy a ride from LAX for just $40 with a rideshare service. From John Wayne Airport, expect to pay around $60, though nearly $100 for a taxi. Embark on your dream cruise effortlessly and at a great price from the World Cruise Center.

Sailing From Here: Azamara , Celebrity, Crystal Cruises, Cunard, Norwegian, Oceania, Princess, Seabourn, Silversea , Viking Ocean

Points Of Interest: Santa Monica Pier, Griffith Observatory, Universal Studios

Port Of Long Beach (California)

Discover the convenient and stress-free Port of Long Beach , just a stone’s throw away from the Los Angeles cruise port. As a cruise port owned by Carnival Corporation , it offers an easier and more accessible experience than LA. Set against the backdrop of the majestic Queen Mary , this gem provides an alternative West Coast sailing experience away from the bustling cities. Located just 23 miles from LAX, you can park your car for only $23 per day. Plus, ample parking options exist for oversized vehicles adjacent to the covered garage.

Points Of Interest: Knott’s Berry Farm , Long Beach Museum of Art, Aquarium of the Pacific

Port Of San Francisco (California)

For a city this big, I was surprised that the Port of San Francisco was not busier and bigger, but honestly, it is not one bit intimidating. Parking runs around $18 per day and there are many options for getting there, including bus, Uber, Lyft, and shuttles.

Sailing From Here: Crystal Cruises, Disney, Princess, Royal Caribbean

Points Of Interest: Alcatraz Island, Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, Golden Gate Park

Port Of Seattle (Washington)

The cruise port of Seattle is your gateway to Alaska , so hopefully in your lifetime, you’ll explore this one for yourself. There are two terminals (Piers 91 and 66), with parking running $22–$27 per day, though shuttles and Lyft are the most popular ways to get there. The airport is 40 minutes away.

Sailing From Here: Carnival, Celebrity, Holland America, Norwegian, Oceania , Princess, Royal Caribbean
