NEW YORK (November 20, 2017) – Get ready for a shot of adventure and a chaser of fun when cocktail connoisseur Jack Maxwell returns for the new season of “Booze Traveler” on Monday, December 18 at 11 p.m. ET/PT. On his all-new global cocktail crawl, Maxwell soaks up some of the world’s most exotic drinks and striking destinations, starting in tropical paradise, Tahiti. During the season, he heads to Scandinavia to explore the magical origins of the “mead of poetry” drink that, as Viking legend has it, turns those who drink it into a poet and scholar. And, he gets to share a pint with a Robin Hood impersonator in England’s Sherwood Forest. Throughout the 16-episode season, Maxwell will also visit Arizona, the Caribbean, Chile, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Michigan, Taiwan, New England, New Mexico, the Pacific Northwest, the Rocky Mountains and more. “Cheers to more fascinating escapades with new friends, while toasting long-held traditions in some of the most breathtaking places on the planet!” said Maxwell. “My wonderfully enlightening international, cultural adventures always include a reason to celebrate. It’s the same everywhere around the world.” The season opens on the pristine shores of Tahiti, where Maxwell immerses himself in the culture of the island paradise and has an authentic tamure dream – a drink aptly named for a traditional Tahitian dance, made with over 7,000 orange peels and freshly harvested sugar cane. Maxwell also shares a beer with pearl divers after gathering some of the world’s rarest pearls, learns the secrets of harvesting vanilla and tastes both brut d’ananas — a sweet and refreshing pineapple champagne, and pia uru — a favorite local beer brewed from breadfruit. 10Best: Drinks from TV's 'Booze Traveler'

The Scorpion Cocktail, served at the Vintro Hotel in Miami Beach, is made with tequila, Grand Marnier, lime juice, jalapeno and cilantro on the rocks.

There's no need to limit yourself to champagne on New Year's Eve. Every bar and lounge has a drink worth trying, says Travel Channel host Jack Maxwell , who proudly calls himself a "Booze Traveler." His show with the same name, which runs Monday nights at 10 p.m. ET, features memorable drinks around the world, but he has a long list of favorites back home too. "You can learn about people, places and culture through the lens of a cocktail glass," he says. He shares some favorite bars and drinks with Larry Bleiberg for USA TODAY.

Black Cherry Manhattan, The Parlour Room Los Angeles Although located in the middle of Hollywood, this bar drops the pretension and focuses on good cheap drinks. "This is a place you can go with friends. It's like putting on an old pair of jeans," Maxwell says. And the drink is simple and straightforward too: bourbon, black cherry syrup, muddled black cherries and ice. 323-463-0609; vintagebargroup.com

Walk Me Down, Blues City Café Memphis This 100-ounce drink, sometimes called the Fall Me Down, takes a kitchen-sink approach to mixology, combining vodka, rum, tequila and gin with Blue Curacao and sweet and sour mix. It's served over ice in a saxophone-size container that comes with a neck strap. "On Beale Street you can walk with an open container, and it doesn't get more open than a 100-ounce drink," Maxwell says. 901-526-3637; bluescitycafe.com

Scorpion Cocktail, Vintro Hotel Miami Beach In Maxwell's mind, there's no better way to toast a sunset than lifting this drink, made with tequila, Grand Marnier, lime juice, jalapeno and cilantro on the rocks. "It has the heat in it from the jalapeno and a Latino feel with the cilantro," Maxwell says. "It's brightly colored like Miami." 305-674-9200; vintrohotels.com

Stoli Doli, The Capital Grille Las Vegas Although it's just fresh pineapples and vodka strained through crushed ice, Maxwell loves the drink at this upscale Strip steakhouse. "It's so simple, served with beautifully diamond-cut pineapples," he says. And the setting's a pleasure too. "It's nice and soft and quiet, unlike a lot in Vegas." 702-932-6631; thecapitalgrille.com

Black Dahlia, NoMad Bar New York While there are many variations on this cocktail, Maxwell likes the one at this Manhattan hotel bar, featuring Zwack, a spicy, herbal Hungarian liqueur mixed with sherry, Grand Marnier and lemon juice. "It has a unique taste and it's different." 212-796-1500; thenomadhotel.com

New Fashioned, Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row Scottsdale, Ariz. Being a lover of the Old Fashioned, Maxwell was curious about this concoction made with blackberry whiskey, lemon juice, agave nectar, fresh blackberries and black walnut bitters, served over crushed ice. His conclusion: "It's a nice nod to the past -- a very dark, dense drink." 480-945-4200; dierkswhiskeyrow.com

Vieux Carre, The Carousel Bar and Lounge, Hotel Monteleone New Orleans This Crescent City classic was invented at a French Quarter bar which is shaped (and rotates) like a carousel. The drink combines rye whiskey, cognac, sweet vermouth, Benedictine, Peychaud's bitters and Angostura bitters. "You add bitters to take the sting out of the alcohol and this has two different kinds for a reason -- because it's a strong drink," Maxwell says. 504-523-3341; hotelmonteleone.com

Irish whiskey, Lincoln Tavern and Restaurant Boston When Maxwell was a kid, he used to shine shoes in South Boston bars. "When I get back to Boston there's nothing I'd rather do than round up the usual suspects and pub crawl through my old Southie neighborhood for some brotherhood and cocktails," he says. "It would be blasphemy to go in and order some kind of fancy cocktail. Whiskey rocks for me is fine." 617-765-8636; lincolnsouthboston.com

Zombie, Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar, Fairmont Hotel San Francisco Maxwell has always loved tiki -- and this bar, which celebrates its 70th anniversary next year -- is a classic. "When I can drink in a tiki bar, it's always fun. It's the surroundings that make cocktails special for me," he says. And there's no better tiki drink than a Zombie, made here with several kinds of rum plus lime, pineapple and papaya juices, along with a secret ingredient or two. "The name says it all, doesn't it? You drink a Zombie, you lose your brain." 415-772-5278; tongaroom.com

Old Style beer, Gold Star Bar Chicago Maxwell loves this cash-only dive bar, with free pool, an indie juke box, and low-quality TVs. "It's not fancy or pretentious. It's as down-home as it gets," he says. He recommends any beer available, along with a tamale if the vendor stops by. 773-227-8700; facebook.com/pages/Gold-Star-Bar/5140108660

Three Sheets’ star Zane Lamprey back for DrinkTV, a new streaming network devoted to spirits

Our favorite intrepid spirited host is back, Zane Lamprey for DrinkTV. Pic credit: DrinkTV

There’s a new TV network in town. DrinkTV was announced today!

It’s time to polish your Roku or Apple TV box as the star of the long wrapped Travel Channel series Three Sheets, one of our favorite destination and drinking culture shows starring Zane Lamprey, can celebrate his return to the small screen.

Fans loved Lamprey’s five year run on Three Sheets, which covered the drinking culture of various countries, and now they can see him on DrinkTV along with a hundred hours of original and curated spirited content that showcases bars, bartenders, cocktail culture the world over and more.

From DrinkTV:

The streaming network is available at DrinkTV.com, Roku, AppleTV, iOS and Android devices (with Amazon Fire coming soon). For $2.99/month or $29.99/year, subscribers will have access to exclusive content and various programming celebrating all the best in drinks culture, including brand new projects. “Why isn’t drink culture celebrated in the same way as food?” says Jared Cotton, Co-founder of DrinkTV. “We are aiming to change that; bringing exciting and engaging programming that highlights the world of booze that permeates our culture, but just hasn’t been captured yet… until now.”

Comedian and TV personality Zane Lamprey starred in hit series such as Three Sheets, Drinking Made Easy, and Chug. Now he will return with his new show Four Sheets.

The new Lamprey’s travel-drinking shows take him around the world to uncover drinking customs and traditions, as he imbibes with the locals from Cusco to Italy and Paris to Mexico City.

DrinkTV has drunk the Lamprey Kool-Aid and they love him. They have greenlit a season two already and will air in 2019 exclusively on the network.

“When we saw what Zane delivered in Season 1 of Four Sheets, it was a no-brainer to do more episodes,” said DrinkTV Co-founder and General Manager Chris Burke. “We’re excited for the fans—ourselves among them—to see where the adventures lead next.” “I’m ecstatic to be a part of DrinkTV and I’m confident subscribers will dig the new shows!” says Zane Lamprey. “DrinkTV is a place for all of us drink lovers to come together to celebrate what we love—cold beverages and good times.”

What other shows to expect

On Four Sheets, viewers will get a comedic look behind the scenes of the first season on Between The Sheets, a 6-episode roundtable talk hosted by Steve McKenna from Drinking Made Easy as he leads Zane and special guests in a tour of the cocktails and cultures.

Also on DrinkTV is The BrewDog Show with Scottish brewers James Watt and Martin Dickie. These two are all about the brewing.

Throwback Trivia, an 80s/90s themed bar trivia show fronted by Marc Summers, and new episodes of The Nerdy Bartender with Stacey Roy are also slated to air on Drink TV, adding a range of cocktail, wine and beer programming from around the world.

Additionally, Nightcap with Zane Lamprey is a late-night talk show where Lamprey will go one-on-one with celebrity guests at the bar. The series is shot on-location in unique drinking establishments in Los Angeles. Nightcap with Zane Lamprey will debut in spring 2019.

Welcome back to TV, Zane. We missed you!

Fans will have access to content with new apps on Roku, AppleTV, iOS and Android out today, and can watch online at drinktv.com. An Amazon Fire app will be joining the offering soon.

Shay Mitchell Sips One Drink at a Time in her New Drinking/Travel Show

A ctor and BÉIS Travel founder Shay Mitchell sips one drink at a time as the host with the most in her travel drinking show. It may compare to the vacation series posted on her YouTube channel with a longer runtime and larger production which feels similar to other celebrity travel shows.

With her face and center for this newly unscripted food/drink travel show from Warner Bros' streaming platform and holds a seat at the executive producer table for Thirst with Shay Mitchell .

After playing Emily Fields in ABC Family to Freeform teen drama series Pretty Little Liars for seven years and soon starring alongside in season 1 of You, Mitchell springs forward into a new chapter. In only 4 episodes, she is visiting exotic destinations around the world to sample ingredients, meet experts, and learn about the drink trends, best bars, and history. That is explained in the tagline of the poster: ''Every culture has a drink. Every sip tells a story.''

The first episodes bring attention to a theme and subject with Mitchell's voice-over wisdom through the hour or half depending on the running time for each episode. Thirst with Shay Mitchell plays to the example of a binge-able streaming show to watch on a weeknight or weekend. As sipping down each episode guides how other cultures on parts of the globe consider drink culture as a form of leisure and community. In contrast, in the United States, it is debatable conversation whether a person drinks or not regardless of reasons.

Thirst with Shay Mitchell is a blend of other food/travel shows except Mitchell cracked a joke about it in an episode on why the show is called ‘‘Thirst’’ due to her travel experiences and her travel accessories company .

Countdown the days for the Max Original series! Thirst with Shay Mitchell will premiere in the coming weeks on May 23rd, 2024.

Cocktails Built for Travel Channel Binge-Watching

Whether your watching Jack Osbourne and Katrina Weidman explore potential Portals to Hell or you’re doing a deep-dive into Ghost Adventures , make sure your home bar is adequately stocked.

The Perfect Cocktails for a Travel Channel Binge

Tis the season to put on some pajamas, turn off all the lights, cozy up on the couch and binge-watch Travel Channel’s scariest shows. It’s also ideal to add a cocktail into the mix, and we found the perfect mix for each and every jump-tastic episode.

Whether your watching Jack Osbourne and Katrina Weidman explore potential Portals to Hell or you’ve made a deep-dive into Ghost Adventures — adding historic significance to your heebie jeebies — make sure your home bar is adequately stocked.

Ghost Adventures + Negroni

Zak Bagans has some serious pedigree when it comes to the paranormal. Alongside Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley and Jay Wasley, the reality show/documentary-style drama of this series can be pleasantly addictive. Mix something strong and assertive, to mirror Zak’s personality. There’s a fun bit of balance there too, though. In almost every episode, he comes up against something that freaks him out. A Negroni has that same balance — bracing, bitter flavor with a smooth, relatable finish.

Portals to Hell + Sazerac

In Season 1, acclaimed paranormal researcher and investigator Katrina Weidman and her cohost Jack Osbourne (son of famous Metal musician Ozzy Osbourne) head down to New Orleans, to investigate one of the most legendary settings for haunting in America — The LaLaurie mansion. Press play and serve up the Big Easy’s official cocktail, The Sazerac, with a dash of absinthe, rye whiskey, a sugar cube and bitters.

Ghost Brothers: Lights Out + Gin & Tonic

Don’t take your cocktail game too seriously for Ghost Brothers: Lights Out . You will either spill it during a frightening moment or spray it onto your coffee table during a funny one. Comedy meets jump-frights in this series, where three best friends flip the switch on paranormal lore by shining their own light on its darkest secrets . Make a Gin & Tonic, with extra lime, in a tall glass. You're worth it (and so is binge-watching the entirety of season one).

Ghost Brothers: Haunted Houseguests

Kindred Spirits + Martini

Roused in the night by strange noises or witnesses to poltergeist activity, families contact the Kindred Spirits team of Amy Bruni, Adam Berry and Chip Coffey to help make sense of the unexplainable. Your hosts’ vibe is casual, but proper. These are the investigators you could take home to mom. Why not invite your mom for couch Martinis and a few episodes?

Vodka or gin, your choice, just don’t forget a rinse of vermouth and a few skewered olives.

The Dead Files + Manhattan

From the pinky ring to the gold chain to the lapel pin to the pinstripe suits with bright shirts underneath, retired New York homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi is our favorite, dapper, ghost-confronting everyman. Co-host Amy Allan has her own sense of style (if occasionally swearing like a sailor), and if we could go out to a bar with any of the Travel Channel hosts, it might be these two. Nothing suits this show like a Manhattan. Grab your crystal glassware, the good bourbon, sweet vermouth, a few dashes of bitters and don’t forget the brandied cherry and the orange slice.

Ghost Nation + Whiskey Sour

Laid-back, usually sporting baseball hats and hoodies, Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango tackle serious cases, via pleas from paranormal investigators struggling around America. Season 1's 'Nightmare in the Nursery' is one to watch or re-watch. You might need to resist the urge to cover your eyes when the nanny cam catches a disturbing figure floating front of the toddler. A round of Whiskey Sours — shaken to a perfect blend of rye whiskey, simple syrup, and fresh, tart lemon juice — is perfect for Ghost Nation viewing.

Destination Fear + Death in the Afternoon

Dakota Laden takes his best friends — Chelsea Laden, Tanner Wiseman and Alex Schroeder — on a road trip to America’s most haunted locations. And, this crew gets genuinely creeped out on the regular. Chelsea’s fear is palpable. She’s also a history buff, so a historic cocktail is in order. The Death in the Afternoon is both elegant and complex, featuring only two ingredients: Absinthe and Champagne. Ernest Hemingway liked to claim he invented this cocktail. Who are we to argue with a dead man?

Meet the 'Destination Fear' Team

Expedition Bigfoot + Dark & Stormy

What drink suits a wet, twilight romp through a creepy Oregon wood? A Dark & Stormy, obviously. This combination of bubbly, fiery ginger beer, fresh lime and dark, slightly sweet rum is classic and refreshing. They are easy to make (and to drink) and awesome while watching world-renowned primatologist Mireya Mayor track Bigfoot. She’s been called the female Indiana Jones, and make sure you have a fresh drink before starting Episode 8 of Season 1, The Final Hours. You won’t want to hit pause when she and her team of fearless explorers head into the abandoned mine shaft.

See More Photos: Go Behind the Investigation of 'Expedition Bigfoot'

True Terror With Robert Englund + Old Fashioned

Robert Englund's series is perfect for you slasher-movie fans out there, and each episode contains a trilogy of stories from historical newspaper accounts. They are re-enacted with all the movie makeup and gore you miss from his earliest films. This show gives us nostalgic flashbacks of Tales from the Crypt and an Old Fashioned is ideal — with whiskey, bitters, sugar and an orange twist.

From Freddy Krueger to Horror Host: Robert Englund Talks About the Nightmare Fuel of ‘True Terror’

These Woods are Haunted + Mezcal Hot Toddy

What would you take into a dark, haunted forest, if you could only take one drink? A Mezcal Hot toddy. It’s so simple to create — smoky mezcal, warm water, lemon juice and honey — and so apropos for couch snuggling under a blanket. Our favorite episode to pair with this drink is Season 1's The Hell Hound. It’s the story of a young woman who, intrigued by the supernatural, explores an abandoned hospital in Ohio. Something follows her home. Careful not to spill your drink.

These Woods Are Haunted

Paranormal Caught on Camera + Daiquiri

Ghosts spotted in hotel mirrors. Figures haunting the field in Gettysburg. Faeries potentially do exist, if you believe one episode. This series covers the gamut of otherworldly occurrences, from bewitching moments to downright spine-chilling scares. Shaky camera angles go best with shaken drinks. Drink a Daiquiri. Fresh lime juice is essential, alongside a quality simple syrup and a bright, refreshing bottle of white rum.

The Holzer Files + Sidecar

Fun Fact: America’s first ghost hunter — Dr. Hans Holzer — inspired Dan Akroyd to write Ghostbusters . His thick case files became an alluring series for Travel Channel, with Paranormal investigator Dave Schrader, psychic medium Cindy Kaza, equipment expert Shane Pittman and researcher Gabe Roth pouring over his unfinished case to tackle the job. They include some very recognizable names, like The Amityville Horror House. The Sidecar cocktail’s own history is a mystery, but many believe this combination of Cognac, Cointreau and lemon juice was invented at the end of World War I in Paris.

The Alaska Triangle + Alaska Cocktail

Called one of the most dangerous places to traverse on earth, The Alaska Triangle is a region that has swallowed up people, boats and planes without explanation. More than 2,000 planes have either disappeared or crashed in the Triangle in just two decades. It’s also our only show on the list that has a cocktail right in the name. The Alaska Cocktail dates to 1913, and is a striking combination of London Dry gin, yellow Chartreuse, orange bitters and a lemon twist. Stir till chilled; watch till mystified.
